Arcanas
I don't know if this was already pointed out but, does anyone else feel like Makoto and Haru's arcanas should be switched? The Priestess is supposed to represent unrealized potential and the Empress is to represent motherhood and the life it brings forth. Haru is oppressed by her father to do things she does not want to do and she doesn't retaliate against him because he is her father and a powerful business man who's heart is distorted by desires; when she is confronted with the option to either betray her father and help the Phantom Thieves or to side with her father, she fully awakens to her persona to fight against him, thus awakens her untapped potential and shows that she will no longer submit to her father; this is why I think the Priestess arcana is suitable for Haru. However, at the same time I think the Empress card also fits her because of her skills with gardening and Mother Nature and all that jazz.
This is the other part because there is a character: On the hand, Makoto shows how she is suitable for the Empress arcana through the way she interacts with others; she is essentially the most responsible of the Phantom Thieves and basically their, "mother." She keeps the people in check (though sometimes even she may be brash and impulsive). Also I see a sense of motherhood in the way she treats Futaba; she is very protective of Futaba, as seen through some cut scenes where Makoto hugging her to protect her in some way like using her own body; when going around Mementos, one of Makoto's dialogue says how she thinks of Futaba as a younger sister, sometimes older siblings can take to role of a parent figure or at least be the adult for the younger sibling. Again at the same time, I also believe that the Priestess arcana is very suitable for Makoto as well; she is constantly put up to an expectation someone has of her and, like Haru, does not try to defend herself or retaliate in some way; when she awakens her persona, she unleashes all her repressed anger and shows this unknown power or potential she was holding back. Also another aspect of the Priestess arcana is that it represents contemplation and inner-knowledge, Makoto shows this by being the academic Student Council President. All in all, the developer’s choice of arcanas for the characters was good, but there parts to the characters that show another arcana.
I meant character limit.
Ugh I spotted some many typos...
