Gleamstar's Literature Class
In the middle of a park, multiple desks and chairs are set up. A purple cat sits in front of a blackboard, wearing glasses to make her look smarter.
*Walks to a desk* Is this a class?
"Yes! I am Mrs. Gleamstar, your teacher." The purple cat starts putting packets on each of the desks.
*Sits down on the chair* Alright...
"Now, before we get started, I'll give you a rundown on this class. It's focused on interpreting literature. Not only is it focused on finding the deeper meaning, but also deciphering the mess of letters on the page." Gleamstar turns around and writes the title of the packet's story on the board: "Starkit's Prophecy."
*Nods, looking at the board*
What class am I in?
"Now, if you open the packet, you'll see the list of characters. Don't bother examining it, as most characters listed are irrelevant. Let's start with the prologue. 'The cats gathered around a pool. They all looked into it eagerly. A dark shape appeared on the surface. A blue she cat looked up. Her eyes were bright.'" Gleamstar looks up from the papers in her paws. "As you can see, there are short, choppy sentences. Can anyone tell me why this sentence structure is detrimental?@
"This is a literature class, dear cup man."
"...Nobody? Okay then. The answer is, it disrupts the flow of the narrative. If I talked like this. And did it all the time. That would be awkward. Get it?"
Mhm.
"Anyway, let's read the next part. '"There is a prophecy!" She said. "out of the darkness, stars will come and get rid of the evil tiger and holly."' And immediately after..." Gleamstar adjusts the page. "One character says 'It's about Starkit!' Now, why is this entire sequence of dialogue a bad way to hint at the plot? Keep in mind, one of the major villains is explicitly named TIGERstar."
