Sterling's Castle: Pilot lessons
*Lord Sterling and Ikebu stand in an open field behind the castle. An old propeller plane with two seats stands before the two. Sterling, donning his pilot's gear, aviation goggles and helmet, as well as another set for Ikebu. Right, let's begin, shall we? Here you go lad *Sterling hands him a set of pilot equipment*
*Cardboard box crashes into the open field* Ugh...
Thanks
*rushes to Pika's aid* I say, little yellow friend is that you? Are you alright?
*puts on the equipment*
I'm fine... *Fixes up cardboard box and pulls it back over, then grabs a magical band-aid, sticks it on his arm, and his body gets healed*
Right then! You've got your standard pilot's wear, the goggles, hat, and the scarf. Also a utility belt containing tools necessary for mid flight repairs. Also a parachute in the event the aeroplane is shot down, which then brings me to your service pistol and flare gun. A good pilot always accounts for anything, which in this case, the pistol to fend off hostiles and a flair gun so ground troops may locate and rescue you. This may seem a bit excessive for first time flying lessons, but this is what I was taught during my time in the Royal Air Force and during the war back home.
Wow really?
Yes. As my time as a pilot, I was only ever shot down once during a battle between the Libertalian Royal Air Fleet and the Verheim Fleet. Lucky and unlucky for me I landed on one of the enemy's airships. This trusty pistol to my side saved my life. I soon escaped by hijacking one of their planes.
Let's move on then. Hop in the plane lad. I'll take the rear seat and you take the front.
Ok *Gets in the plane*
*Hops on the plane*
*Minato and Thanatos arrives, but it looks like Minato had fallen asleep during the ride*
Ooc: Has*
Oh I almost forgot *Hands a pair of goggles, an aviator hat, and scarf to Pika* Here you are little yellow friend. Come on back here with me. Now Ikebu, before we start the plane, allow me to show you the dashboard and the controls. As you see, in the center, you have the speedometer, to the left, the small meter, the Altimeter, showing you how high we are and how high we can go, to the right, the ignition. The key is already there, so just turn it and push the button above it to start the plane. Now onto the handle. That controls the movement of the plane. I'm sure you have played a video game with air vehicles of the sort? Pull the lever to ascend, push it downwards to descend, move the handle left and right to rotate the plane. In order to actually turn the plane, turn the handle in the direction you wish to go and pull on the handle as if we were ascending. There is a trigger on the handle, however, the plane's guns are not armed. Now then, start her up when you're ready
Ok *starts the plane*
Nah Sterling, I got this. *Pulls out a wingsuit and rope attacked to the plane* Gonna test this bad boi out!
Very well then Pika. Do be careful back there. *As the plane starts, the propeller begins to spin. The loud sound of the engine and propeller echo throughout the fields. as the propeller spins, the plane begins to gradually speed up* Hoi, see that switch by your seat? The one with all the numbers? Flip it to number 2.
*Thanatos just flies around the castle with Minato still on his back*
*flips the switch to 2*
*Extends the wings on the wingsuit and puts on oxygen tank and mask*
*The plane speeds up* Right, pull up! And once we're off the ground, follow that floating boy! *Sterling points to Yuki*
*pulls up and flies towards Minato*
*Is flying* WOOHOO
You're a natural, lad! Now, lap around the castle once, and then we'll fly off for a bit
Ok sir *Flies around the castle*
Good! You've gotten the hang of turning, now let's gain a little altitude and fly into town. *Turns behind and talks to Pika* How're you doing back there?
*Yells back* PRETTY GOOD! *Does a barrel roll*
Ok *gains altitude and flies to town*
*As the three friends fly into town, they have the perfect view of everything going on. The citizens of the Nexus going about their business, the various locations of many past adventures for the people, such as the park, the cafe, etc. The sun is still a bit high, and the temperature, perfect for flying. Sterling then talks to Ikebu* Fancy the view? I haven't seen what the town has to offer to the fullest, so this is new to me. I bet you that woman chasing after you won't be able to reach us up here! *Sterling chuckles a bit*
*chuckles* yep!
OOC: Gtg sleep IC: *Pulls out a cardboard box, jumps in it, activates parachute, and cuts the rope* Welp guys, Ima go home now so... *Lands in the city center*
*Park
*To Pika* Safe landing little yellow friend! *To Ikebu* You'll have to tell me the story on how you two met, she seems like quite the piece of work to deal with. Let's return to the castle and call it a day.
*flies back to the castle*
Alright, let's land her. Pull down on the lever and bring her in slowly. Once the landing gear makes contact, flip the switch back to 1
*pulls the lever down and flips the switch to one as soon as the landing gear makes contact*
Good, now push the button on the ignition again to shut it off. The automatic breaks should kick in and we should stop moving/
*pushes the button*
*The plane stops. Both men hop out of the plane. Sterling, with a smile, walks towards Ikebu* You're a natural. Hell, if we were back home where I'm from, we'd make you a pilot for the Royal Air Force on the spot. You'd make a fine pilot. Now it's about time I call it a day. I'll be taking the equipment you borrowed, but go ahead and keep the goggles, they suit you well.
Thanks *takes off the other equipment*
Very well. I shall see you around. *Sterling walks towards the castle with the gear. He whistles a catchy tune as he walks back home*
Okay, bye
