How clueless is Mishima?
Not the admin, the character. I noticed this my second time through, but it's pretty heavily implied he knows Akira and co are the Phantom Thieves, as early as when he starts the site. His texts and Akira's blatant choices in answering also confirm it's him accomplishing the requests. And any 'speak to them for me, k?" Is for public talk. A wink-wink between them. Despite that, much later in the game Mishima will either send a text or naively say "Tell the thieves this for me!" Or something like that. I wish I screencapped it, but it was at least midway through. And I remember being like HUH? There's no way he's actually this gullible, or was it more posterity? Discuss.

Its more like he knew you had connections with them but wasn't directly involved. Thats why, cause Akira never comes right out to say it. So Mishima just believes that you have a connection to them to tell them of the requests and stuff.

Even though all of Akira's text responses are about as obvious as possible. Whoosh. Right over his head. That roast isn't really wrong either. I don't think he figures it out even at rank 10, when literally everyone else does too.

It's not that hard to interpret that. It's fairly obvious he's referring to the others in my opinion. He may know Akira is but it's not like her has proof of who his partners are, and it's obvious it's a group so..... lmao

The very first time goes like this "Hey, you guys are the Phantom Thieves, right?!" And no matter what you say, he replies with, "Oh yeah, sure, whatever you say..." So I thought it was being made obvious that was the case.

I always thought he did that to hide any suspicion. Because its very obvious he knows or at least has suspicion Akira and Co are phantom thieves. Anyone can see a text message if they're smart enough and or if they somehow got caught by the police. Its less incriminating than just saying HEY PHANTOM THIEF FRIEND. Obviously It'd be a smarter idea just talking in a quiet privet place instead of texting or talking in public. But the same could be said about their "Hideout" on the walkway.

Ha, too bad the rest of them aren't that discreet. Even Futaba after hacking them was like "Really?"

Umm, I think it's just that the reason why he is so clueless about that is because...PLOT HOLES! Nah, really, I think it is just because that he only suspects that Akira had a connection with the phantom theives, not thinking that he was actually one himself.

When you really think about it, they were really dumb and reckless. There were tons of times they could of been caught and to think Mishima was the only one trying to be discreet when texting. ESPECIALLY after being hacked by Futaba. I mean they should of been caught.

On the other hand though, as Joker points out at one point, unless someone hacks their individual handsets in particular there's not too much risk, as the metaverse navigator was created and given to them by the prison warden.
