Why is there a mission in Zelda tied to this game?

I am planning on getting a Switch sometime after exams, and Xenoblade 2 is would be later on my list. I am interested though.

Why is there a mission in Zelda tied to this game? I assume it's because Nintendo EPD hired a few employees from Monolith Soft to help design Breath of the Wild's environments.

Haven't paid it any attention. What's it like? Vast open-world game with a pretty good story. Every location has it's own charms and beauty.
