What is your least favourite things about Video Games?
In general, what do yu hate the most about videogames, be it mechanics, clichés or other things? Personally, I hate level grinding and avoid it when I can. I play games for fun, not to run around in a patch of grass for an hour because my team is too underleveled for the next gym and I ran out of trainers. It's why I prefer Fire Emblem to Pokemon. In those games you are guarunteed to get your team leveled as you play because, there is little to no optional content to grind for before Awakening. The only exception to hating grinding in games is Kingdom Hearts 2 because I enjoy the combat in that game.
This isn’t as much of an issue in games now but I hate the concept of “Save Points” or “Save Rooms” becuase that means while I should be going to sleep i can’t stop until I find a Save point
Trailers with no actual gameplay anywhere to be seen
From my experience playing PMD, when the game's much easier than its past entries. Maybe it's a bit easier because I played the previous games when I was more inexperienced, but I still found myself disappointed at the lesser challenge.
The frickin Loading time in FFXV, the grinding in FFXII (I love that game, but why doesn't the whole team level for fricks sake) and overall bullshit minigames you have to pass to continue.
Gotta agree with the grinding, it's fun as long as it isn't excessive.
When you buy an expensive armor/weapon and after that an enemy drops a better one. Or when you accidentally sell an item and you have to buy it again (paying more of course).
Unskippable cutscenes. Especially cutscenes before a major fight, so they're super long.
Unskippable cutscenes. Especially cutscenes before a major fight, so they're super long. Oh I can second that too. Best example Final Fantasy 10. I saw one cutscene 10 times or something till I beat that boss. I don't know if they fixed that in the Remix version.
Trophies and achievements. It's sad so many people care about these at all. Some of them are so obviously pandering, you couldn't NOT get a trophy just from playing anything. Like the P5 "Obtain the Persona Arsene" (ie watch the first hour, hit X, and move around a little). Have we gotten to the point we need that kind of pandering and stimulation to keep going in a game? I loathe the concept of these beyond words.
In RPGs (usually) i don't like the fact that you start off with a weak weapon that you sell because you wanted to get that stronger weapon, but then later you find out that the weak weapon could be upgraded even stronger later on making you OP
I hate stupid achievements. Trophies and achievements aren't actually a terrible idea, since it creates a checklist for some completionists, or if you have friends the obvious ones can act as "bookmarks" so you can gauge how far your friends are in the game, or something. What I hate are bullshit achievements like the ones that reward you for standing still or dying. What I hate the most comes mostly from tactical games. You know how it is in some of these games, spend sometimes up to an hour or longer in a mission, can't save during it, but it's fine enough. Then someone dies. Something happens you didn't expect, someone dies. A plot important character dies. Meaning the game forces you to restart the entire mission. A really long mission that you weren't allowed to save during.
A lot of games do it great but I absolutely despise ones where you have to do the stupidest and most convoluted thing ever to get the 'Good/True/Golden Ending'. I'm talking things that you could only possibly fathom doing if you read a guide, were such a perfectionist that you looked in every single nook and cranny or if you logically deduced that you wee supposed to do that from the start with your genius level intelligence. In bad cases it's either that or "Grind until ALL of your characters at at max level prestige 150 and then revisit that specific location that you couldn't figure out what to do with earlier in the game" Then again i'm pretty bad at video games so who am I to judge?
Quick time events. I get that you want the player to feel like a bad ass and do a cool move, but qte are just lazy. Other then that, I'd like to know that when I spend $60 on a game that it will work. I'm looking at you assassins creed unity. Games being released at full price while they know these games have game breaking bugs is unacceptable at this frequency. And then they have the nerve to ask you to pre-order the game. No. Just...No
I can't really say I can hate things that games do, mainly cuz I suck at explaining, but I hate parts of games. Normally it's random spikes like in the Sly Cooper games. One mission is like the easiest thing ever, but then next mission is like the hardest in the game. I'm not saying I can't handle hard, but I can't handle unexpected hard..... does that make sense? I suppose this is just rambling...
I get that sometimes you can't always save. But if you take away Quicksave (a temporary save,) then I am ANGERY. *Glares at Stardew Valley*

Also, you know the guys who made the Petz series? Repetitive games with very little content overall are a pet peeve of mine. I want to like some of them, but it hurts to play the same thing over and over and the same minigames just to achieve something over and over with no real goal in sight only driven by a completionist drive- Sorry, went a lil crazy there.
Tailing missions. They're a waste of time. You can kinda see what the devs were going for, but it's just the same as driving around an open world. Turn off your brain and follow the marker.
meh, it varies, some times the story, or the Voice acting, etc. Anything that can become really tedious and annoying
MICROTRANS-FUCKING-ACTIONS Especially when the difficulty curve is way too high. You KNOW they want you to spend money.
There's actually one game that makes me like grinding, and it's FE Awakening. You heard me right, grinding for Supports is fun! But anyway I hate that i have to spend money to get games that aren't on PSP or older Also EA is bad and should go bankrupt. They've ruined any hope I had for Andromeda, they've done horrible things to SWTOR, and they're just going to fuck up the industry. yeah i don't have any complaints on games in general smh
UNEEDED QTE!! Only games that I know of the put QTE effectives are Shadow of the Colossus and Asura's Wrath.
UNEEDED QTE!! Only games that I know of the put QTE effectives are Shadow of the Colossus and Asura's Wrath. What about Resident Evil 4 (not counting the later games because they suck)
Or Shenmue i never played it but everyone says it's amazing
