Digital Coffee Saga
The wandering barista can be seen pedaling down the bustling streets of Akihabara as the sun begins to set. He pulls over to the side of the busy streets and parks his bike next to a vending machine. This place is something else... He looks around in a daze of sorts. Coming from the past and seeing all the technological advances all at once would be enough to give anyone a start. However the man just shakes it off and begins to convert his bike into the cafe stall. I cannot fathom as to why all those men were walking around with pillows. Perhaps they are going to a sleepover! No. They seem a touch to old for that. The man laughs innocently before returning to set up.
Rise is coming down the street, her head low, her hands in her coat pockets, and her scarf wrapped around her neck. It reaches up to the bottom portion of her face, as if she's trying to be somewhat incognito. Must just be the downside to being in "show biz." She'd be delighted to catch a glimpse of the wandering barista ahead and decides that maybe she could stop for a moment, at least for a coffee. Oh Ryoma-senpai. Boy am I glad you decided to stop here for a while, I could really use a pick-me-up right about now. Once she had closed the distance between her and his bike stand, Rise finally addressed him. She tried not to speak as loud as she usually did and even while speaking she didn't lower her accessory from her face.
The man absolutely lights up at the familiar voice. He quickly turns on the kettle before looking towards the girl. Did you just get off work, mon cher? He reaches for a container and takes out a scoop of beans before bringing them to the grinder. It is good to see you again. This world has thrown me for a loop since last we spoke! Truly a fantastical realm! But enough about me... He begins to turn the crank and begin grinding the beans. ...how are you?
Homura wanders around the streets... She really should have just gone home with Madoka, but well, just felt like thinking about things really. "Hmm... I wonder about that Urumi girl, I really hope she didn't do anything bad while I was off having fun or something. That'd be pretty awful." The girl would raise a hand to her chin in thought... And suddenly take a second glance as she walks past Ryoma-san, huh. Well, he did seem like a barista of some kind so it adds up. She walks up the stall and smiles at him. "Hello again Ryoma-san! It's nice seeing you well after... I guess I don't have to say it or anything, but geez I was kinda worried about you! What the heck happened anyways? Whatever you did out there couldn't have been safe, did you know about it?" As Homura concerns herself with the well being of someone who's likely 10 or more years older, she doesn't even stop to think that perhaps this might not be the most appropriate thing to do. She does, however, stop herself upon, realizing that she hasn't actually ordered. "Oh and um I'll have... Tea please, if you've got anything that won't keep me up tonight anyways, that'd be kinda nice in this weather!" She'd also notice Rise standing next to her... And wonder how the heck she's missed the older girl up to now. Regardless, Homura smiles and waves to her before glancing around for somewhere to sit. "Oh hello, Rise-chan! It's been a while since we last met, hasn't it? Heh... Anything new and exciting happening with you?"
Rise rubs the back of her head sheepishly. Although hidden behind the scarf, the slant of her eyebrows would most likely make it apparent that she were smiling. Hehe, oh you know, work's getting me down is all. So I guess in other wooords... nothing worth talking about? What's this about you getting thrown for a loop though? It wouldn't happen to involve a girl, would it~? Turning the conversation back on Ryoma, Rise would've finally been addressed by Homura and responding to her accordingly. Oh Homura-chan! I was just telling Ryoma over here that nothing much was happening but what about you? You look as if you're glowing right now! Did you take auntie Rise's advice and try your hand at being an idol?
Homura giggles and shakes her head... Her an idol? Heh, she might be able to look the part, but that's about all she could pull off. "Um, nothing that exciting, I just... Well, two things really, I figured out some stuff about myself. That was pretty interesting, and a little scary at the time but I've dealt with worse stuff!" She beams proudly as thoughts of her Shadow come to mind, sure it was kinda dangerous, but at least it was a kind of danger that was worth undertaking in the end... A small blush creeps onto her face as she thinks about the second thing. "And as for the rest of it well... I guess you'd say I just got back from a good date really, it's not as big a deal I guess. But, it was a lot of fun anyways so yeah, I'm in a pretty good mood tonight actually!"
Ryoma's face would grow flush at the teasing. W-Well it did involve a girl but not in the way you seem to think! He calms himself as he moves the grounds to a percolator. Let's see....it all started when I entered the television. Gah. I already sound like a loon, but please let me finish! He begins to pour the boiling water as he speaks, softly moving his hand. I entered the television to find a world of fog. There I met Miss Akemi and Mister Gamma, but we weren't alone, there were others. We ended up leaving the main group and we were attacked by a Shadow, I do believe it was called. And then we fought it and...well we won. Here you go! He'd slide the now full cup over to Rise with a smile before noticing Homura. Ah! Miss Akemi! Good day! Ryoma would laugh awkwardly as the girl calls him out on his recklessness. I...I did know what would happen yes. I have yet to master that ability and it usually ends up burning me to no end while the power is active...luckily it was one of the better outcomes I have had. He quietly grabs a small teabag and fills it from a container labelled "Chamomile Dream". He places it into a paper cup before speaking again. But it all turned out okay! I think I gave you and Mister Gamma some room to breathe. And you showed that wretch what for! So do not worry about me, my dear.
Homura simply stares stunned as he hands out the details of their little adventure, she... Wouldn't quite have put it so bluntly, but there's no real use denying that fact now. "Um-yes I guess that did indeed work Ryoma-san, but please try to be more careful of yourself! I... Really should have healed you at the time, but um I was a bit worn down, sorry." The girl sighs to herself and takes the cup into her hands, she takes a sip of it and tries to consider the good side... Well, she'll know for sure if Rise knows anything about this weird stuff now, and maybe she won't think to bug her about the date thing! "Anyways yeah... To be exact it was my Shadow we fought in there, That's what I meant when I said that I'd figured some things out honestly. It was... Pretty eye-opening to see that thing actually, made me think about things I'd never really considered before then." She sets the cup back onto the counter and looks around again... After finding no place to sit, the girl's right hand would burst into light before a shield appears on it. She smirks to herself as the shield lets off a glow... And a combat knife clatters to the ground. "Ack! What the heck happened there dangit, guess I need to focus when I'm doing this stuff... Just ignore that please." She'd quickly stuff the thing back into her shield before trying again, this time a pair of lawn chairs forms in front of the stall and Homura pumps her fist into the air before sitting down. "Yes! I knew those things would come in handy someday, hah. Who needs a purse when I can just use my magic!"
Rise's face lit up at the mentioning of Homura going out on a date, becoming very excited as soon as she started to think about it a little more. Awww Homura-chan! Have you finally found love? I guess it's bound to happen to the worst of us as long as we keep our hearts open! You gotta tell me all about it sometime! At least tell me your date was cute. Erm... he was cute, right? Upon hearing about the date she seems to have completely disregarded the personal things Homura mentioned having worked out, although it's likely she just got more caught up on that last bit. Unfortunately, her cheerfulness would fade once Ryoma had mentioned his trip into the TV world. Her coffee laid out in front of her, she'd stare down at it as she seemingly got lost in thought. A shadow inside of a television... I wonder. Say Ryoma-senpai, just how did you end up in a place like that anyway?
*Mayu wanders onto the scene whistling some sort of tune.* Yo! What's up?
Eito could be seen walking around Akihabara, indecisively scanning the shops for any good video games, his face gaining an amused look after passing a man with a body pillow. "This place is really full at this time of day." Eito's trademark smile would show itself to the world at large once again after spotting Ryoma's stand. "He really does go everywhere, doesn't he?" *Shrug* "Well,i'm not one to complain." The teen would walk over to the stand. "You didn't forget me cus it's been a while, have you Ryoma?"
(edited by Eito)
Homura pauses for a moment... Eh, might as well just come out with it now, no sense dancing around that issue all things considered. "Um... Actually, we've been going out for a little while Rise-chan, and um..." The girl's voice goes a bit lower as she struggles just tell the truth... Geez, for having been so open about it before, that's a lot harder when Madoka's not right next to her. "It wasn't a he either, Rise-chan... Um, I hope that won't be an issue with you, but boys aren't really my type I guess. Or maybe I just happened to find the right girl first?" She'd raise her hand to her chin in thought, hmm... How would she feel about that if she hadn't met Madoka anyways? She'd never really given the whole thing any real thought till that, so there's just no telling. "Well, either way, I guess it doesn't matter. After all, we're happy and that's the important part, right? No sense thinking about what could be when what I've already got is good!"
OOC: Work is exploding. Be back at 6 the latest sorry.
OOC: I shall likely be in bed by then, but it's fine Ryoma-san! I know all too well how that goes after all.
Rise only seemed to get more overwhelmed by the situation as Homura went into further detail regarding her and Ryoma's adventure in the TV world. She knew all too well what kind of wacky things could go on in there and, for a while, she had thought that those kinds of shenanigans were well behind her. She finally decided to take a sip from her coffee cup, probably in an attempt to clam her nerves, but then Homura would drop the news about her partner. Luckily she didn't spit up everywhere at least. Wh-what!? Don't be ridiculous Homura, of course that isn't a problem! Just uh... a bit of a surprise is all. I'm glad for you, really! Rise did her best to smile in reassurance at her, deciding to leave it at that since there were now two others around the barista and she'd rather not carry on such a personal conversation with Homura unless she wanted to. Although... She did turn her head away and mutter quietly to herself. Geez... Can't even bring in the boys.
K Bruh.See ya later.
Homura sighs in relief, the shock isn't unexpected really... For some reason, people don't seem to guess she's the type, wonder why? But, the lack of say open disgust is pretty refreshing, and all told fairly common around here! "I'm... Glad to hear that honestly, it's uh not uncommon for people to take issue around Japan even in this day and age, so ya know. Can get a little nerve-wracking sometimes." She'd listen in rather closely upon seeing Rise turn away, months of listening for monsters in the darkness are at least useful for this as well. "And hey, it's not that I can't bring them in Rise-chan! I just don't want to... Or anyone except Madoka actually, never cared to try." Upon looking around and spotting the others however she'd drop that topic for another time, Rise is one thing... A boy she's never even spoken to before however, well she'd feel more at home talking about gun maintenance than something like this. So she looks over at Eito and attempts to wave off the subject for now. "Anyways, sorry I didn't notice you before... Homura Akemi is the name by the way, and it's nice to meet you I'm sure! So I guess that you know Ryoma-san then, right?"
Rise tenses up a little once Homura had begun responding to what she muttered. She's a little surprised that Homura was able to hear it but she's more so embarrassed now as she hadn't intended for her to. It wasn't her intention to offend the cute girl but Rise isn't always the most aware of the impact of her words... Hopefully unintentionally so. I didn't mea-. Ah just nevermind. I'm sorry Homura-chan, I'll just drop it for now. She went back to her coffee. It would seem the subject regarding the TV world had passed and, although curious to hear more about it, it's probably for the best considering the newly arrived. She must figured it'd be for the best if they simply didn't even know it existed at all, and as such she doesn't bother to bring it up. She instead waits for Eito to introduce himself to Homura, now that she's done so for him, so that she may know what to call him come time for her own introduction
In spite of not wanting to keep going around Eito. It's pretty clear the older girl is actually worried about making her mad, that's... Surprisingly sweet of her, really. If only everyone she met reacted this well, life would be far easier. "Um Rise-chan, don't worry about geez. I was just kidding around after all! So um please don't worry about it too much okay? I'm not sure if you'd noticed, but I actually like messing with people after I start getting used to them... Think of it as just meaning that I'd like to believe we're kinda friends now!"
Finally finishing her coffee, Rise would grin. She seems a little amused now that Homura admits to just playing with her, resulting in her having a bit of a laugh. Heheheh! Really? Gosh you got me a little worked up there Homura-chan, I thought I actually offended you or something. You're a funny girl, and, I know I've told you a million times but, cute too! Rise sets her cup down, pulling out the same coinpurse she had last time she paid for her coffee and taking out the same amount of yen she had paid with last time, setting it beside her cup. She then turns and smiles brightly at Homura, deciding to playfully ruffle her hair as some sort of playful retaliation. Well you're right, we are friends! So I hope to see you around more often, okay? Maybe next time you can introduce me to this "Modeka" too! But I gotta go now so I'll be looking forward to it, 'kay~? After Homura responded, should she respond at all, Rise would walk past her and continue on her way, presumably on her way home now. She had to pull her scarf back up over her face seeing as she lowered it to drink her coffee. It would seem she's still trying to be somewhat stealthy. Bye bye now! Take care you two, same goes for you two strangers!
(edited by Rise_Kujikawa)
"Goodbye..." Eito waved at the somewhat familiar girl. "I'm pretty sure i've seen her before..."
Ryoma would blink a few times at the sudden change in Rise's demeanor. You know what I'm talking about. Don't you? He begins to pour water into the cup of tea. There was a gray haired young man there. He seemed to be guarding it...but people entered it for some reason. A voice? Something called them to it, and I couldn't stand idly by. And farewell, mon cher! The man would slide the cup to Homura with a smile. Love comes in many shapes and sizes, my dear. I am delighted to hear you have found someone to cherish. He would then finally turn to Eito with a smile. I could forget you, but it would take some time my friend! He laughs as he pokes fun at Eito. How are you my friend?
Homura blushes as Rise's hands run through her hair. Geez, is this what having an older sister feels like? If so... It's actually kinda nice really. "Um thanks, Rise-chan, I'll be sure to try and bring Madoka out to meet you sometime! I bet you two will get along actually." She stops for a moment to consider that, come to think of it. Madoka gets along with everyone. "Not that it's really saying much honestly, she's pretty good with people so if you can deal with me, then getting along with her is pretty easy by comparison!" That having been said, the girl shrugs to herself before finishing off the rest of her tea. It's pretty good tea... And it makes her a little sleepy come to think of it, but either way, she has to run home. "Anyways, I've gotta get back to the house before anyone gets worried about me! See you around Rise-chan!" As Homura waves goodbye to her... Friend, the girl would then snap her fingers and cause her clothing to burst into the Magical Girl outfit. From there she quickly leaps upwards and lands on a roof, darting away into the buildings as she heads for her home.
*Mayu just looks around the area as Rise walks off* Let's try that again. Heya!
Ryoma awkwardly waves at the girl. How in the hell did he miss her. Ah! Good evening Madame! My name is Ryoma Sakamichi, the wandering barista! Care for a drink?
Coffee, Mr Ryo. Thank you. So, what's everyone talking about? Interesting stuff?
Ryoma would use the preparation time in order to come up with a cover for what they were talking about. As he slides the girl a cup of his famous "Bike Blend" coffee, it hits him. He couldn't think of anything. Well...that is to say...um... His eyes catch a hobby shop behind the girl and he finds his ace. Dungeons and Dragons! We were talking about a game of Dungeons and Dragons is all! He wipes the sweat from his brow.
Is that so? *Mayu takes the coffee* You're a bad liar, but I won't question it. Thanks for the drink, Mr Ryo. *Mayu sits down nearby, mumbling to herself.* Hopefully, the boss won't bug me during this break.
He laughs nervously before leaning against the stall. Would you believe me if I said it was for your own good? He would then grab a rag and wipe down his countertop.
Eito looks somewhat amazed at Homura's exit from the scene, before deciding to ignore it for the sake of his sanity. "Jesus Christ..." Eito shakes his head and smirks at Ryoma. "It better take you a while!" "Do you know how much time I spend each morning to make myself as dynamic and awesome as possible?" "I couldn't forgive you if you forgot me!" "Well, maybe I could after a cup or two of your coffee..." Eito jokingly takes a 'thinking pose' for a few seconds before gong back to normal. "Regardless,i've been doing well. You?" OOC:I'll be gone for an hour.Sorry.
(edited by Eito)
You put in effort to leaving an impression? The man laughs softly as he throws another kettle of water on. Have a little bit of self respect, my boy! And let's see...what have I been up to? He brings a finger to his chin in a thoughtful manner. I'm getting more of a handle on my special brewing if you catch my drift. Albeit, I did burn myself rather harshly.
My own good, huh? *Mayu giggles sightly* You shouldn't worry about me. I can take care of myself. *To try and improve her statement, Mayu raises the coffe in the air as if she were cheering in a banquet hall. This causes coffee to spill onto Mayu's arm, causing her to drop her coffee container on to the ground* Ouch! Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. Hot hot hot!
*Urumi enters to only see Mayu then leave to make sure that she does not see her*
You certainly purvey that loud and clear. The man stifles a laugh as he moves to the woman's side and hands her a fresh towel. Here. I'll clean up the rest, then we'll get you another cup. He smiles warmly before taking a knee and wiping up the spill. He'd stand back up after grabbing the cup, placing it in a garbage can nearby. And I don't mean to make you out as weak. This world just...it grows ever more terrifying by the day. I just don't want plain clothes people getting in too deep. His voice becomes tinged with sadness as he prepares another cup for both Mayu and Eito.
HEY!! A girls voice loudly echoes down the street. The origin of the voice, not far away, is a girl in a school uniform zooming down the streets on a pair of roller skates. Her hands waving. She slows down as she approaches, eventually stopping in front of the stall with a wide grin on her face. Hello! What's goin' on here? Hehe, sorry for bein' so sudden, it's just ya seem to stick out from the others, and they don' pay me any mind. Thought I'd have better luck with ya.
Somewhere, the Boss is laughing his head off. *Mayu sighs deeply* Sorry about that, Mr Ryo. What's that about Plain clothes people anyway. *Mayu looks over to Urumi and waves at her* Hiya, masked girl. I forget your name, but hi anyway.
A Monkey with a police hat on walks down Akihbara after having a busy day arresting people for being bitches. As he walks down the bright city, he notices the cafe stall with a few people around it and strolls over to it Good evening, citizens of Tokyo.
The man turns in a hurry at the new voice. Someone yelling is always a cause for concern, but it appears that wasn't the case. Ryoma just smiles at the girl and bows his head. You seem quite energetic, mademoiselle! And as for what is going on here, I am simply running a mobile cafe business. He beams at the girl. My name is Ryoma Sakamichi, the wandering barista! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance! He'd then turn to Mayu with a soft smile. I've seen a lot of innocent people get involved in stuff well above their abilities before. I just want to keep those numbers down.
Oh, so you just think I'm not capable to handle all the demons, gods and persona users running around here. I getcha. Wait, are you? If not and you have no clue what I'm talking about, please disregard what I just said. *Mayu smiles innocently, thinking "Nailed it."*
"You only say that because the only me you know is the one I let you know. You can be safe to assume that the actual me is much worse than all of..." Eito motions to himself. "This." "Either way, how's business, what happened with that burn?"
Ryoma blinks a few times in surprise. I apologize. You seem to be well inform-...wait... The man puts out hand. Gods and demons? Come again? He then turns to Eito and smiles. I'm sure that you are just exaggerating. As for the burn, I kind of had to go all out and the suit did not like that one bit. Business is great though!
Gods and Demons? Whaaaat. I didn't say anything about that. You definitely didn't hear me say that. *Mayu smiles and gives a thumbs up*
'Course I am! Can't say I ever heard of a mobile cafe, nothin' like it existed in my town, but it's nice to meet ya, Ryoma! Name's Sachiko Kurenai! Don't forget it, won't let ya live it down. How 'bout the rest of ya? She turns to look at Eito and Mayu.
Sachiko Kurenai. Has a nice ring to it. Blissful in a way. The man offers a warm smile before addressing the elephant in the room. As for the mobile cafe, it kind of just happened one day. I realized I need money if I was just going to live on the road, so I did some research and augmented my bike. I got a battery that charges whenever I pedal, a cooler to hold my water, and another container for my product and equipment!
Names Mayu. Mayu Sonosaki. Nice to meetcha Sachi. *Mayu then gives Sachiko a thumbs up*
Ryoma then turns back to Sachiko with a warm smile. Can I interest you in something to drink Miss Kurenai? Can't let you leave without sampling my wares after all!
The raven haired teen shrugged at Ryoma's comment. "Maybe I am,maybe i'm not.Either way,i'm certainly not the same when under normal circumstances."
Hehe, I appreciate the offer. But it doesn't seem ta be much of an offer if ya won't lemme leave without a try. Sure, I'll have some! Nice to meet ya as well, Mayu!
*Marco enters and looks around the place*
Ryoma grins at Eito. Looks like there is much more to you, Eito. I look forward to meeting the real you at some point. He then turns back to Sachiko with a bashful laugh. You are quite right, my dear! Not much of an offer if it is forced! He then sets to work preparing a cup of his signature "Bike Blend". After a few moments, she is greeted by a warm cup of coffee that sings to her nose with cocoa notes. And here you are!
*Marco wonders if anyone he willing to help him take down the Rebel Army, if not at least he could get some coffee*
Eito leans against the stand. "Trust me when I say that you'll be underwhelmed." "Now let's stop with all the depressing stuff." "How's the new blend?" "What can you do with it?"
I've yet to try it actually. But it seems to be themed after tea. So I can assume it'll maybe put people to sleep? Oh, I wonder what weapon it uses! Ryoma grins as he speaks before looking at Marco. Odd, a man like that is too timid to approach a group of two young men and two young women. Lurking like that makes it seem like he's a pervert. Hopefully the man would acknowledge that speech is important and try to approach the group if he wants something.
Thank you very much! She picks up the cup and takes a big gulp of it. Ah! Too hot! That was a bit too fast maybe, hehe. It was great though! She sets the cup down and tilts her head as she overhears the other conversation. Uhm...'What weapon it uses'?
*Marco walks up to the group* I need some help taking down an army called the Rebel Army, also can I get some coffee, Idk what kind of coffee just surprise me
*Upon hearing "What weapon it uses", Mayu snaps back to reality* I prefer swords.
The man quickly laughs and puts his hands in a defensive manner. Ah! A game! We're talking about a game! Right Eito! A fighting game with masked men on bikes! That's it! Haha! He again wipes sweat from his brow.
Ryoma holds his head in his hands as Mayu pops up, he speaks softly. You chose that time to speak up? He'd then notice the man approach and he raises a brow at the man's words. I can get you coffee, but war is best left to real soldiers. With that he'd prepare another cup of Bike Blend and pass it to the man.
Eito, still leaning on the stand turns to Sachiko. "Yeah, take your time with it,Ryoma's coffee is something to be appreciated slowly, speaking of which..." He grabs the cup Ryoma had prepared earlier, now somewhat colder but still good and takes a long sip. "Yup,just a fighting game we were talking about, pretty good stuff if I do say so!" "There's a new character coming out and we were discussing them in detail."
(edited by Eito)
Wow. Your both bad at lying. *Mayu smiles at the two*
She takes a moment to think, drinking more coffee, slowly, as she processes the information. Eh? A game about masked men on bikes? She smirks. Heh, sounds pretty cool. I ain't a gamer, but maybe I should look it up sometime.
*Marco sighs*
Ryoma's eyes look around for some way out of this whole he's dug. To no avail. Y-Yeah! It is quite fun! It's called...um...Masked Rider... He desperately searches the shelves of the hobby shop from afar. He keeps looking for something, anything. Masked Rider: Burst...? He wipes at his brow again, with steam practically pouring from his ears.
REALLY bad at lying. I don't think I've seen someone worse at lying, now I think about it, My Ryo. No offence or anything.
Jiyu was slowly walking down the streets of Akihbara towards the train station, carrying a large and heavy metal case on his back. As he was sluggishly strolling down the street, he noticed the cafe stall with a few familiar faces standing near it and decides to walk over to it "I knew I'd run into a few people I know sometime today."
*Marco take out his pistol as a Rebel appears and almost shoots Marco but Marco shot the Rebel first*
(edited by marco_rossi)
Eito shoots Mayu a quick glare before going back to as normal as he can be under current circumstances. "Uhuh...It,uh, it's pretty recent but it had some problems at launch so now they're fixing it,so it might be difficult to be able to play."
Masked Rider... Burst? Sounds a bit on the nose, mostly. She looks a bit dejected, but still smiling as she ponders what about the game is bursting, and responds to Eito. Problems at launch, eh? Aw, seems like a shame. Guess I'll just make a mental note of it for now, ask ya later if they've fixed it.
Ryoma looks over at Mayu with pleading eyes. I beseech you. Let it go... At hearing Sachiko drop the topic, Ryoma can't help but light up. Y-Yes! Absolutely! Do that! He lets out a sigh of relief before eyeing Sachiko once more. So what is your story, Miss Kurenai? I love learning more about my clients!
Eito sighs in relief. "Yeah,we love hearing other people's stories." He spots Jiyu approaching. "Speaking of other people, here is another one!"
*Mayu chuckles* Sorry. Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
*Marco leaves while killing some rebels*
Jiyu turns to Eito while smiling a bit "Hey Eito, how have you been?"
It ain't been even a day and you're already askin' a girl for her secrets, how cruel! She laughs. Just kiddin'. I ain't got much to talk about. Lived in the country, most excitin' thing there was hearin' rumors of monsters and superheroes in the big city. Just rumors though, hehe. Though now that I think about it... This is a big city ain't it? Wonder how I found myself here. Seemed like just a few hours ago I was back in the country. Did I get kidnapped again? Sachiko looks around but turns back to the group with a giggle and a wink. Jokin' around, of course!
Eito looks over to Jiyu, taking another sip of coffee before responding. "Doing great!Still frustrated that we haven't been able to finish our fight twice now!I mean, what kinda luck is that?" Eito quickly turns to Sachiko, intrigued at her suggestion/joke. "Wait,so you're telling me you don't know where you are or how you got here?"
Ryoma smiles warmly as she begins her story. Same here! Masked heroes fighting off bad guys around the globe! However, he immediately switches gears at the mention of being kidnapped. H-Hey! Don't go joking about that stuff! That's a scary thought. He lets out a quick sigh. And I'm in a similar boat. I don't really know what happened. I went from biking around Delhi one day to pedaling around Tokyo the next moment! This place is something out of a fantasy novel.
"Surely we'll finish it one day, dude. We just have to wait." Jiyu loosens the straps of the metal case to make his shoulders a bit more comfortable
(edited by Jiyu-Hatanaka)
He quickly turns his attention to Jiyu. Ah! Anything I can get for you sir?
Jiyu glances over to Ryoma before turning to him "Give me the best coffee you have, please."
Eito smiles once again, slightly amused at Jiyu. "This guy makes some good coffee, let me tell you that before everything else."
Just a moment, monsieur! With his usual aplomb he'd reach for the container of "Bike Blend". He scoops some out and quickly grinds them before placing them in the percolator. Lastly, he grabs for the kettle and slowly pours the boiling liquid over the grounds in a cool fashion. Moments later, he presents Jiyu with his cup. Here you are sir. My very own blend.
Eh, you too? Guessin' stories 'bout these kinda heroes are real popular now. Nope, ain't a single clue. Well I got an idea where I am, signs are everywhere, but I don't have a single idea how I got here. I tried askin' around but ya few are the only ones who even pay me any mind.
Ryoma brings a finger to his chin. Why on Earth would people ignore you? Eccentric, perhaps. But that isn't a reason to ignore people. Some people are really something else... It's sad really.
Jiyu looks over to Eito with his arms crossed "Does he have better coffee than that one cafe in Yongen?" He then turns to Ryoma, knowing that his coffee is done, and takes the cup from him "Thank you, sir."
"Yup,best stuff i've tasted in my life." Eito's eyes widen for a moment upon hearing Sachiko's comment. "Well, would you look at that?I guess i'm no longer the newest person here!" "Still,do you know about the whole 'Nexus' deal or not?"
(edited by Eito)
ey das me
She tilts her head and has trouble even repeating the word. Nekasu..? ...Nekusa? ...Nope. Ain't ever heart of it.
"Well, I'd might as well taste it for myself." Jiyu takes a small sip of the coffee, giving it a small taste, then his eyes widen "Wow, this is really good. Better than any coffee I've ever had."
Ryoma stifles a laugh at the display. It seems to be a world of worlds in a sense. Like I come from a version of Earth while it was still 1995. But here... He gestures at everything in the area. It is 2017. It was rather jarring at first. Nothing made sense. But I think I'm getting used to it. Not that I don't want to get back.
Ryoma turns to Jiyu with a grin. Why thank you! I pride myself on my product!
GAH! *Mayu falls to the ground, the phone she has been fiddling with falling next to her* Whose idea was it to make this game so hard? Nyeh...
Eito chuckles at Jiyu's response to the coffee. "Told ya." The teen the turns to Sachiko and Ryoma. "Hoo boy..." "Okay then, time for a lesson on this reality!" "This here..." He throws his arms up,indicating the world. "Is the Nexus!" "From what I gather,it seems to be a...World of worlds." "People from all kinds of realities show up here, from those wielding magic,to those with special suits that grant the power to relatively normal people such as me!"
*Mayu lifts her head up* The Nexus is a pocket dimension that draws random people like ourselves into it. It's filled with magic and demons and gods and nonsense that the boss is trying to analyse but is failing because he sucks. Nyeh *Mayu puts her head back to the floor*
"Well, you sure did tell me, Eito." Jiyu then looks over to Ryoma while sipping the coffee again "I guess you put care into your coffee unlike the other coffee makers in the Nexus."
Eh? World of worlds? Hehe. Sounds like we come from similar places. Sachiko suddenly remembers the cup she had and takes another drink, before her eyes open in realization and she spits. Eh?! Are you tellin' me I've been transported to the future?! Her eyes are filled with stars as she exclaims in disbelief, completely filtering out everything else being told to her about the Nexus.
Ryoma laughs loudly this time. Ahahaha! Something like that, Miss Kurenai! It's easier just to leave it at that then. Although, coming from similar times is definitely interesting. Ryoma turns and shyly scratches at his cheek. I would say that the flavor does come from the care I put in, but that sounds much too embarrassing!
Eito finishes his coffee as it had gone stone cold. "Ah..That's the good stuff." Eito takes out his wallet and hands Ryoma 2000 yen. "Pretty sure that was the price, wasn't it?"
He takes the cash but returns 500 yen. 1500. I'm reevaluating the market at the moment. Trying to see what the happiest medium is.
"It doesn't sound that embarrassing to me." Jiyu takes another sip of his coffee
Eito gives Ryoma the money anyway. "Consider it a tip,I can spare the cash at the moment." "You'd be surprised how much a bar of gold and a bar of silver go for these days."
He blinks several times. How in...why do you have bars of precious metals?
She raises her hand quickly. I'm curious as well! I never did get much allowance! Easily obtainable bars o' gold sound lovely right now!
Oh yeah I never paid either, huh? *Mayu give Ryoma 2000 yen* Here you go, Mr Ryo. I don't care for the change, so you can keep it.
Ryoma sighs at Sachiko's eagerness. What happened to working a normal job for money? He shakes his head and smiles before taking the money from Mayu. Much obliged, ma'am.
"Well, you see, back in the day, when I was completely new and didn't know anything about this place, which was basically a month or 2 ago,I went to mope in a cafe,Leblanc." "That is where I met Jiyu, but it's also where I met a talking dragon." "Ridiculous,I know, but Ryoma has already met the guy." "He straight up handed me some gold from his back, which I spent on equipment, maintenace and a slightly more stable future here via savings account." "This is actually not the gold we're talking about but i'd like to bring it up to show that it ain't that hard to get the stuff."
(edited by Eito)
Oh! You mean Kivala? He brings a hand to his chin. Dragons do love gold.
"Oh right, I have to pay." Jiyu pulls out 2000 Yen from his pocket and hands it to Ryoma
Normal jobs are fine, but well... solid gold! She nervously laughs as she watches the others pay. Hehehe, I didn't pay either. Well, I think I'll just say this is on the house. Okay?
*Sigh* Eito brings out another 1500 yen and hands it to Ryoma, motioning to Sachiko. "I feel sympathy for you because you're new but at this rate you're gonna have to get a job." "Anyway,so the stuff we're talking about right now is a bit of a different story." "Found it in an underwater cave, which I only found because a talking seal lady guided me along with Jiyu and Reperzel,Ryoma once again knows him, to the place."
(edited by Eito)
He accepts the cash from Jiyu before putting his hands on his hips and shaking his head at Sachiko. I don't recall asking you what you wanted. In fact, I demanded you try some before leaving. He gives her a warm smile. It is certainly on the house, Miss Kurenai!
Ryoma shakes his head. Accepting that would negate the point of my offer. But more importantly, a talking seal lady?
Eito shrugs and takes back the cash, indifferent. "Yeah,a breathing, talking motherfucking seal lady." "I was honestly not that surprised,I had previously met Kushala, the dragon, and Reperzel before,so it wasn't that weird." "It was still weird though."
Ah. Kushala! I thought I was off... that's a bit disheartening. He shakes his head in disappointment. And jeez, you always have one adventure after the other.
"Trust me Eito..." Jiyu turns to Eito while taking another sip of his coffee "...there's a lot of weird people in the Nexus."
*Mayu starts counting something on her fingers but runs out of fingers* Yeah. There's at least more than 10 people who are pretty wierd in the place.
I'm sure we all have our secrets. I wouldn't say too many people are truly weird. But I accept all kinds, so I can't really speak for everyone.
*Urumi is suddenly here... like she has nothing better to do also she does not have her mask on*
"Anyway guys,t'was fun and all but I have to clean up the GYM among other chores,so I gotta go." Eito puts his hands in his pockets and walks away. OOC:And that will be it for me lads and lasses.See ya another time.Probably the weekend.I may or may not start a thread then, but seeing as all of my threads except for the park have been abysmal failures,i'm not very sure.
Jiyu waves to Eito as he walks away "See ya Eito!"
You are on at an unfortunately dead time. The weekend would be a good time for you.
(edited by Ryoma_Sakamichi)
*Mayu waves at Urumi with a smile* Heya mask girl. Good to see you again.
*Urumi looks at Mayu then looks away* you... too *Urumi was in her shy state due to not having her mask on*
Jiyu notices the familiar blue haired girl and turns to her "Hey Urumi, how are you?"
(edited by Jiyu-Hatanaka)
Maybe I should head out as well, nice to see ya, hope we'll run into one anotha again! She sets down her cup and skates away, loudly bothering some strangers along the way.
Ryoma would check the time on his watch and go into a small panic. Ah! Sorry everyone! I must be off! Big sale on at Wal-Mart! Farewell everyone! He grins at Sachiko as he starts to convert his stall back into its bike form. I hope I see you around again. It's nice to know there is someone from the same time as me. Be seeing you! With that, he'd pedal off into the sunset and towards the closest Wal-Mart.
Zero walks in to the cafe, remembering Gamma's cafe, decides to try this one. He goes up to the counter, slams some Zeni down and asks, "For the best cup of coffee you make."
Aww. No need to be scared, mask girl. *Mayu puts an arm over Urumi's shoulders* I didn't get to talk to you much last time I saw you which was... umm... *Mayu tries to think, but comes up with nothing.* Well, that doesn't matter. Names Mayu Sonosaki. What's yours?
*Urumi looks at Jiyu sighlty* good... I guess *Urumi got scared when Mayu started to think about the last time they met... but thank god she did not remember. Urumi sighs* Urumi Koto
Zero notices Urumi with Mayu, but decides not to interfere. He's just here for a drink anyway. He sees Jiyu in the seat next to him. "Hey, you must be that guy who fought GV before." he says to him
Jiyu's actually standing up, but anyway he turns to Zero "Yeah, that's me."
Nice to meet you formally, Urumi. Uru? Rumi? Eh, I'll just keep it as Urumi until I think of a way to shorten it. It seems Mr Ryo's gone. That sucks. Well, I suppose... *Mayu freezes up as her phone goes off.* Eh heh. One second. *A man can be heard yelling at Mayu over her phone even from a distance. Mayu nervously apologizes to the man she calls "Boss" before hanging up.* S-sorry about that. The boss found out I've been slacking here so I gotta bounce. Sorry to cut this short after you just got here, Rumi. We'll talk later, yeah? *Without waiting for a response, Mayu opens up a portal and vanishes through it.*
K *Urumi thinks "I have a feeling that me and Mayu had some things in common"*
"I heard you put up a bit of a fight at GYM, anyway, what brings you here?"
"I'm just passing by, that's all." Jiyu then tightens the straps on the giant metal case on his back
*Urumi just watches*
"Well, so how's everything so far?" Zero goes for a bit of an idly chat while waiting for his coffee.
"Pretty good I guess." Jiyu looks at the time on his phone *Sigh* "I gotta get home soon."
"Well, see ya," Zero turns to him, "Thanks for chatting a bit, even though that lasted a few moments."
