Nexus Ed: General Studies

A large, multi-storied structure protrudes from The City, a little nicer than the surrounding buildings. The nameplate would read," SCHOOL". That's it. Inside the building is actually just a singular classroom, the rest for labs, and other non-core classes. The classroom has a man in a brown suit writing on a chalkboard. The only thing that seems unprofessional about him would be his pompadour. The chalkboard now reads, "General Sciences". The man at the chalkboard stands ready for his students to begin coming in.

Sayaka_Miki

It doesn't take long for a certain blue-haired schoolgirl to come into the scene, running down the sidewalk towards the schoolhouse. She turns to her companions Come on, you don't wanna be late do you? Especially if you haven't gone in a while The girl laughs brightly before stopping just outside the building to let the others catch up

I'm coming, I'm coming! Geeze! Why are you so excited? Kotori chases Sayaka down, still armed to the teeth

Seriously? You're bringing weapons? It's just a school, nothing horrible is going to happen there.

Sayaka_Miki

Sayaka grins and chuckles when she notices Kotori is still heavily armed I think you should probably leave those in your locker if you're gonna bring it to school. I mean, you don't want to get a bad rep do you? There are some nice people, but they're not so into fighting. Sayaka waves over to Haruko as they approach Kotori and her Well, looks like the gang's all here. Operation: Take Kotori to school can commence. With another quick smile at her companions, Sayaka would open the front door wide and step inside, still holding it open for the others

Kazuya_Minegishi

The door to the classroom slowly creeks open as a ominous aura can be felt in the air. A boy with blue hair and red eyes would walk in wearing a red clock over a black shirt. He would take a seat near the back of the room and stare intently forward. "This should prove vauble..."

Keilin_Minami

A girl with blonde braids comes in running and tripping towards the group to catch up and go to the school building, dropping her glasses excessively along the way. "Hey, wait for me! You know I suck at running..." she shouts from behind stumbling along the way, getting tired as she re-adjusted her glasses. The girl then grips onto her purse as she sprints at her fastest towards the door, which is honestly laughable if you were the average person. She pants in and out a bit fast before calming down to turn towards Sayaka for holding the door. "Thanks for that, I needed it." she then shot a blunt smile towards her.

I'm keeping them, who cares about reputation? I'm not gonna put myself in danger to make some normies happy. If you guys want to, because my guest. She walks inside, thanking Sayaka for holding the door

I mean it's not so much reputation and more you could get kicked out on your first day.

Gentaro_Kisaragi

A bell begins to toll, sounds like classes are starting soon. Gentaro shuffles some papers on his desk, grinning happily knowing what's to come.

PK appears to have fallen asleep in the classroom, snoring incredibly loudly in his seat with his head down on the table, it looks like no matter what you may try, this knight will stay asleep, weird...

Sayaka_Miki

Sayaka can't help but turn her head to watch as Kazuya enters ahead of her Wow, new kid looks pretty intense. Wonder what his dea.... Around then is when Keilin comes up to the girl, Sayaka offers Keilin a high-five as she passes No worries about it. I'm glad you were able to make it today Keilin. Looks like we have two new people today. Sayaka turns to Kotori, but is stopped by the tolling bell, prompting her to let go of the door and dash to her seat near the middle of the class That's the warning bell, the class is mostly empty right now so you can pretty much just pick wherever. We can worry about the weapons later, for now lets just get in class. He'll probably ask you to leave them somewhere

*Sits basically directly behind Sayaka.* Well, in the best case. There's some pretty rotten teachers out there that might do worse than have her put them somewhere.

The boy would look around the room with a subtle grin and glaring eyes. He would then focus in upon the front of the room as he waits with anticipation. "Sure has been a while since I've been in a class room."

Ah. What's that annoying noise? Entering the classroom, Kotori sits next to Sayaka, if only because everyone else was doing it

Keilin_Minami

"Oh, thank you so much." Keilin accepts the high-five, but not before she jerks her head toward the bell, gripping her purse handle again. "Aw, well, we'll go on with this later but for now, we have to go to class." she says as she mumbles quietly, probably to motivate herself. She runs again as fast as she can, still at a laughable speed, until she gets to class, taking a seat towards the back of the class. She recollects herself once more, feeling that there was too much work already thanks to her inability to move herself, sighing lightly before sitting straight, readying herself for what's about to come.

Sayaka grins and looks back around to face Haruko Well fortunately its mostly Gentaro-Sensei today, he's one of the more relaxed ones. He'll probably give her a warning at worst. Sayaka then turns back over to Kotori, before gesturing to PK Well, if you mean the snoring its this guy who calls himself Pancake Knight. I don't even know if he's too old to be here. He's kinda the class clown. Finally, Sayaka looks at the new kid, sitting by himself towards the front of the room. She leans forwards and waves to get his attention Hey, kid in the red cloak. I take it you're new here. My name's Sayaka Miki, can I get your name at least, before class starts

Gentaro smiles as the last student comes in. "Alright! Let's begin! I'll be your teacher for today. For those of you who don't know me I'm Mr. Kisaragi! I'll be teaching you General Sciences! Now, here's a question for each of you! What do YOU know about the Summer Triangle? Anybody?"

Kazuya_Minegishi

The boy would looks back with a glaring and yet non-hostile retort. He would stare at her for a moment as if in consideration before he finally seemed to make up his mind. He seemed to sigh for a moment before responding. Suddenly, in a quiet tone he would say a single word. "Abel."

Kazuya_Minegishi

Abel would look up toward the teacher with a sinister grin as he raised his hand. Without even being called on first he would begin to reply to the question. "I know that they are stars. Distant icons of power that one day I shall all make mine. That is my destiny as one with a fate such as mine."

Kotori_K

Ki-........ Kotori crosses her arms in frustration, but says nothing

Sayaka raises an eyebrow as Abel goes on, she leans over to whisper in Kotori's ear New kid's really intense. Wonder what his deal is, maybe he's into theater or something.

Haruko

Erm.... would it be a triangle of stars that appear in the summer? *She even raises her hand, and her tone is a touch more formal suddenly in a school setting.*

Meh, he's one of those bigshots who thinks he's everything. You get those all the time. She waves it off, not bothering to whisper Who's the cute girl you hi-fived?

Keilin_Minami

Keilin was quick to raise her right hand, but then her left arm had pulled it down, as she looked down with an embarassed look. As she looks towards Abel she backs away, trying her hardest to stay in her desk, slowly but scaredly as the only thing coming out of her is a "eep" sound. Finally, she then just looked towards everyone else, the only thing she did to "socialize" for them was stroke her hair and give them a meek wave.

Gentaro nods, if only a little disappointed. "That's right! The Summer Triangle is in fact based around stars! To be specific, it has major stars from the Cygnus, Aquila, and Lyra constellations! Now who knows what any of these stars! There's only three in the Summer Triangle, so think hard!"

Sayaka_Miki

Sayaka leans back over to Kotori in answer Her name's Keilin, she's been going to this school for a bit longer than I have. She's got seniority, but didn't want to accept the role as class rep, too nervous. Hearing the next question, Sayaka's hand shoots up I think you mentioned one of 'em was called Altair? I don't remember which constellation that went to, but it sounds right.

Upon hearing her name, Kotori waves again Hi Keilin-chan!

Wow, Sayaka's actually really good at this...

Gentaro nods again. "Yeah that's correct! Altair is the brightest star of the Aquila constellation! Can anyone think of the other stars?" Gentaro begins to draw on the board.

Seeing as Kotori called out her name, waving at her more, she then waved at her and gave her the same blunt smile she gave Sayaka. This time, she raised her hand, not bothering to put it down as she remmebered the answer. "Umm, was another one of the defining vertices of the Summer Triangle Vega?" she said, delaying her question, which was meant to be an answer but she messed up. "Oh, and...umm...one of the stars were Lyra...right?"

Gentaro_Kisaragi

Gentaro's drawing begins to take shape, it's a series of dots each branching into their own separate images. In each of the images, one dot was significantly larger than the rest. He writes down "Vega" next to the center-most dot. and Altair next to the furthest dot on the right. "Just one more to go! We'll do some more fun stuff if you get the last one right! Vega is in fact the Alpha Star of the Lyra constellation!"

It's... uh... deneb, right?

Gentaro finishes his drawing. The bright stars connect to form a right triangle, the one furthest on the left is now labeled Deneb. "You got 'em all right! Now who wants to move on to the more hands on part of this class!" Gentaro looks out at the class, looking for raised hands.

Sayaka_Miki

Sayaka eagerly raises her left hand towards the roof, if you look closely you might catch a glint of silver towards the base of her middle finger

Gentaro's grin lights up. He begins passing out papers to each of the students. The papers read, "General Physics Demonstrations". Each having their own unique branch of Physics covered on it. Kotori's reads "Electricity", Sayaka's reads "Projectile Motion", Haruko's reads "Rotational Motion", Keilin's reads "Forces", and Abel's reads "Astrophysics". "Come on everyone! We're gonna head to the labs!"

Sayaka grins at Kotori and Haruko before waving for the pair to follow her as she heads for the classroom door, towards the labs Kisaragi-Sensei loves doing demonstrations far more than bookwork, so he's one of my favorites. I think you'll come to like him too if you keep coming Kotori. Though he has a habit of trying to cover too much in these. Sayaka shows the others her papers as she walks along For example, he gave me one on projectile motion, bet you two got something totally different, right?

Keilin quietly got out of her desk and followed along with the others, hummingly happily as she tried her best to ignore the feeling of being watched on her. She reads the paper she was given, and thinks for a little bit as she walked before she was asked by Kotori what she had. "It reads forces...I hope it means the one with motion...it's the one I know about most..." "But, I'd actually like to know what your paper reads. Your name is...Kotori, right?"

Electricity! Like lightning! And yup! Kotori! Nice to meet you!

Gentaro_Kisaragi

Gentaro stops in front of a room. He opens it to reveal several tables each marked for the different labs he has planned. The table for Projectile motion has a spring launcher, set with two marbles, and a bow and arrow. The table for rotational motion has a turntable, a bike wheel, and two five pound disks. The table for forces has a spring scale, some pulleys, several masses, and a small Trebuchet. The table for electricity has a Van de Graaff generator (or a small metal globe to the untrained eye), several sticks of graphite, a solenoid(wire wrapped around a metal rod), iron fillings, and a power supply which is plugged into the wall. The table for Astrophysics seems to be empty, excluding a small box which rests on the table. "Find your seat, begin to look over your packets so you know what you're doing! Feel free to ask questions!"

Sayaka nods to Gentaro and her fellow classmates before sitting down at the projectile motion lab, she slowly begins reading through her packet before noticing the bow and arrow.... That's a really high quality fake. Sayaka raises her hand Just checking, but that's not a real bow or anything right? Just a replica, maybe made of plastic. Just wondering, so I know how careful I've gotta be.

(He sneakly slithers to the back of the class, and just watches)

Gentaro laughs heartily. "The bow's real! The arrows aren't!" The arrows are, in fact, plastic on the ends.

Okay! *heads to the rotational motion station and gives the wheel an experimental spin attempt.*

Wow...useing bows in a school, that's a 1st...then again, I went to a very normal school, sooo

Keilin inspected what was brought to her a bit thoroughly before trying to interact with any of it, first reading the packet before doing anything else though. First, she did the basic stuff and tied a decently light mass, then trying to pull the mass up as she used the pulley to see how fast the mass can be lifted. Then, she tried to fiddle with the small trebuchet, but ended up raising her hand to ask a question. "Gentaro-Sensei, how delicate do you think this is? I wouldn't want to break it after all..."

Sayaka pokes the tip of the arrow, sure enough its perfectly safe. She pipes up before continuing to read her packet Alright, sounds pretty cool. I'll be extra careful not to break it. I bet a real one's expensive.

Wonder if they could here me (he pulls our his banjo and plays it so that they can kind of hear it)

..................... Kotori looks confused at all the parts, then for goes all of it opting to just use lightning magic on the globe. Her lightning courses up and down her body as she enchants herself with it, Then she touches the globe, transferring the lightning to it Zap!

Gentaro runs over to Kotori, flustered. "W-whoa hang on! Careful!" Gentaro attempts to stop Kotori. "J-just do this!" Gentaro plugs the globe into the wall. It begins to whir silently, eventually charging with electricity. "We're lucky that this school has some tough equipment, any normal Van de Graaff and it'd be fried for good!"

Daww......... .......................................... She unplugs it and holds the metal prongs in her fingers, acting as an electrical socket Much better! She then picks up the solenoid, electrifying it and touching it to the Van Graaff, seeing how it reacts

*Sighs at Kotori before trying to balance the two disks on the wheel, and giving it another spin.* Hmm....

Gentaro_Kisaragi

Kotori can't necessarily see anything happening, but she can feel a wave of some invisible force on the hand holding the solenoid. Occasionally electricity would arc from the Van de Graaff and shock her. "Not what I expected, but good enough!" Gentaro would then walk over to Haruko, and begin to push her to stand on the turntable. "Try holding your arms out with a disk in each hand!"

Having read the packet, Sayaka looks over her equipment. The spring launcher looks a bit more standard, but she figures the bow would be more fun Never held one of these before, but hey, first time for everything. Sayaka grabs the bow and stands, using her chair as a place to hold her knee, she points the arrow towards one of the lights in an empty area of the classroom, pulls back the string, and releases it.

Kotori doesn't feel much say for the initial jolt caused by touching the Van de Graaff. Gentaro begins to push Haruko in a circle, and the turntable allows her to keep her momentum. After she's gained suitable speed, Gentaro stops. "Now! Pull the weights inward, right to your chest! Like your giving the air a good hug!"

Hmm...... She picks up the graphite This is stuff you write with... right? What's it supposed to do?

Alright, here I go! *She pulls her arms and the weights inward!*

Gentaro_Kisaragi

Gentaro briefly turns to Kotori, grinning ear to ear. "Don't you know? Graphite is an amazing conductor, try holding it to the Van de Graaff!" Haruko would find herself spinning more than thrice the speed Gentaro had pushed her when she had the weights out. The turntable begins to spin so quickly, that a decent amount of balance is needed to not fall off.

Ah..... She touches the graphite to the Graaff, then picks the solenoid up in the other hand, touching that to the Graaff as well So I can shock them if someone is fighting me with a pencil.

Gentaro_Kisaragi

Gentaro smiles, if only a tad concerned. "Y-yeah, in theory. A wooden pencil won't do too well, since the electricity won't have anywhere to go." The bell begins to toll again, and Gentaro looks surprised. "Aww, we're out of time. Look over the packets again, we'll continue next time!"

Oh..... We were supposed to read those? She looks at her packet Meh, Playing around is more fun!

*She struggles to put her arms back out but ends up stumbling off the turntable. Thankfully avoiding crashing into anything as she gets her bearings back.* Woah....
