First Video Game...
... ever played. I thought it would be interesting to talk about this, to tickle the Nostalgia. Mine was Grandia for the PS1. I was so amazed by it. And it's still one of my Favs, I can recommend it.
Halo 2 multiplayer map pack on the original xbox, it was the best.
I played tons of educational games and 5 minute long NES£/8 bit ripoff games that came on Windows 95 as a really small kid. But my first actual game that was full length and not educational was a PC port of the PS1 game Rayman 1.

Super Mario 64. I can still remember that moment clear as day.
I’ve played some before the first one I remember but, the first one I remember is Kingdom Hearts on PS2.
Gin
Crash Bandicoot on the PS1. Though, the first game I played on a console I owned was Kingdom Hearts 2 on the PS2.
I don't really remember if I played another game before this one, but my first game that I remember playing was Mario Kart Double Dash.
Bubsy for SNES
I don't remember exactly what my first game was. Either Kirby Air Ride or Mario Party 4 (both on GameCube)
My sister convinced young six-year-old me to play Resident Evil: Director's Cut on PS1. Terrified me for weeks, but I've had an on and off relationship with the series since.
My sister convinced young six-year-old me to play Resident Evil: Director's Cut on PS1. Terrified me for weeks, but I've had an on and off relationship with the series since. I had something similar with my sister and Obscure for PS2. The game was about Students who were experimented on and lived in the basements of schools. I was in elementary school and didn't trust our basement till I got older.
I think mine was Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 on GBA. I could still remember my mom buying it at a Game Crazy and bringing into the car. Man, I had no idea what the hell a Mario was until I played it. I remember playing by myself and going into 2P mode, killed off Mario, and just played the game using Luigi since I thought he was way cooler than Mario.
First game I ever played? Spyro the Dragon. The first one. *sigh* Memories.... and Treasures..... So much Treasure.... Dark Hallow, High Caves, and Misty Bog terrified me as a kid. And I HATED Haunted Towers. But Tree Tops was so much fun. And Lofty Castle always had, and always WILL have, the BEST music.
Super Mario Adventure 3 Sonic Advance 3 Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga Custom Robo Arena Pokmon Pearl Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Mystery of the Sky

I'm not sure if it was my first video game or not, but the earliest I remember was Pokemon Emerald. That said, I don't actually have much nostalgia for the game. I only got to Slateport City, and the only real memory I have is accidentally putting my Grovyle into the PC, not knowing how to get it out, and thinking, "Huh, here's this button that says release. Maybe that 'releases' it from this weird box thing!" and then crying myself to sleep as I remember my little Grovyle shrinking into nothingness.

Surely you knew about that then.
If we exclude educational stuff, it's the Resident Evil Remake on the Gamecube. Before you start questioning my parents and their decisions, it was because by brother was playing it and paused to do something and I picked it up in secret. I still have PTSD. Also, Togo, I'm pretty sure you don't know how saving and reloading saves works at that age.
Why didn't you just reload the save? Surely you knew about that then. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what I did. It was just sort of... distressing for a young bab with no understanding of video games. I was like 7 or so when I played Emerald, I believe.

Hell, I still remember thinking "New Game" meant that you got a new game... I was a very stupid kid.

Wait, so did it happen or not? I mean yes, the Grovyle was in the PC, I couldn't get it out as a dumb kid, and I released it on accident. Then I turned off the game I assume and probably reset to some prior point. It's been like 10 years and my memory is ass, excuse me if I can't remember anything too specifically past a certain point.
OK so updating mine, it turns out my first game was Luigi's Mansion.
First game ever played? ............ Splinter Cell: Pandora's tomorrow It was actually my father's game. I loved seeing him play on the computer. Even if they were violent games like Splinter Cell So one day he was playing this mission, (Me being... 7 years old? Maybe 8?), and he left for a phone call. But I was bored! So I went to the PC, and tried to finish the mission myself. It went surprisingly good, must say. That's why I like stealth games so much I guess...
sonic cd
Megaman X5. Still one of my favorites.
I think it was call of duty the big red one, or some other game my brain can't remember.
Super Mario Bros. 1 for the NES (don't worry, I wasn't a kid when it came out)
