Super Monkey Ball Review
With all these reviews on the forum, I have decided to throw my frog cap into the ring. So without further ado, lets begin. Super Monkey Ball revolves around the story of 4 monkeys who are cursed by an evil monkey witch to be trapped inside balls. The monkeys at first are frightened and don't know what to do. It isn't until the big boy monkey says, "C'mon guys, lets not be sad, we can adapt to this new way of life!" The monkeys then did just that. They learned how to use these balls as a new way of transportation. It isn't until they meet the witch again the baby monkey says, "Lets kill her and get out of these balls!" With this the other monkeys agree. This begins their journey through the world of Round Earth. Now, Super Monkey Ball is a perfect game for RPG fans. It has something for everyone. It has a vast open world full of many secrets, random encounters, a vast amount of skills, and an engaging plot! I couldn't put down my Virtual boy while playing this game! The RPG mechanics are great in themselves and COMPLETELY revolutionize how RPGs can be, honestly its amazing. And don't even get me STARTED on the fucking soundtrack, holy shit! The battle music, the boss music, everything! Its god damn beautiful. Now if this hasn't gotten you convinced, I don't know whats wrong with you. Now, spoilers here. There is one part that drags on. Its when the Female monkey dies. She tells the baby monkey something vastly important to the plot, but since its a baby, it cant really talk. So the monkey's have to find a teacher to teach the baby how to speak and tell the monkeys what the female monkey said. Now, you may be wondering, why does this part drag on? Because you gotta play as the baby and take tests! Its annoying, and if you fail too many tests, you have to attend Monkey Summer School, and man thats just a whole thing I don't want to get on about. But once you get past that, the gam gets right back on track with its greatness. Eventually it all comes down tobthe final battle with the witch, who turns out stole the female monkeys soul and is now using it for evil, so the monkeys have to kill the female monkey again, and then kill the witch. It was an amazing battle. The game is a masterpiece. If you haven't played it yet, you should. I give Super Monkey Ball a 15/10, goodnight
I just have one question. Which Super Monkey Ball is this? There are like, 8
Ah yes, sorry. Its Super Monkey Ball VII, which is the best in the series
Thanks, in that case, I can agree with most of what you brought up. However, I believe that the school segment was actually an interesting twist on typical Super Monkey Ball gameplay, one I wish they would do more often. Until now the series had been a bit too much "standard RPG gameplay with an interesting story", putting all that on whole for what felt like an entirely different game was a bold move on the developers' part which I believe deserves to be rewarded
Why is this a meme topic? I didn't catch any jokes or even insincerity in your review. Meme?

It was a bold move, and certainly something I wouldn't have expected playing the other Super Monkey Ball games. In the end though, I sucked at the tests, so I guess Im a bit biased there.
I really like all the Super Monkey Ball games! I really like in Super Monkey Ball 2 where Aiai joins the covenant and they have to rescue him from Satanic brainwashing! Lol, Phansite memes are funny ^_^
Super Monkey ball need a more diverse cast if you ask me. For years it seems like the cast has consistently only contained a standard RPG cast you'd get in any other game of the same genre. You of course have the standard hero, the edgy rival, and the sidekick type characters but there never seems to be a more lawful type character as part of the main cast aside from villian roles of course.
While a lawful hero would perhaps be interesting Silver, that would defeat part of the series's message about breaking free of the entrapments set around us by the outside world in order to do what's right regardless of the circumstance. Its about standing up for yourself, even if the whole world were to turn against you. Lawful types, by nature, impose their own boundaries of sorts, the kind of boundaries the series as a whole is warning against

Lol, Phansite memes are funny ^_^ Ah yes Super Monkey Ball II. That was my first, and while it does hold a soft spot in my heart, SMB VII, just takes the banana for me. SMB II, is still a classic though, and it is a great starter on the series, with its welcoming mechanics that get a little more complicated as the game goes on, and without handholding you gets you to learn the system a lot. Its a great game! Super Monkey ball need a more diverse cast if you ask me. Ah yeah. I see where your coming from. They did just announce SMB IX a couple months ago, and the characters shown off already look something out of a SMB game while still keeping its original style. Not much is known yet, but hopefully these characters will be more diverse than previous ones. Fingers crossed!! Sayaka does make a good point though.
