Secrets of the Mind: The Fields of Glass
Outside the main city of Tokyo, far off inland when the land because full of mountains and forests resides a field where the grass grows tall. It's clear that there's a lack of any human influence in this area, however, the usually tall standing grass would have a pair of footprints leaving a small path through the field. It's unclear why these footprints are here but it seems as though they were left by an average person. Despite this clear abnormality the field is beautiful and full of life. It almost would make a good place for a picnic. Though, at the time it is quite late and the stars would be fully visible as well. Perhaps it would make a suitable place to simply watch the night sky as well.
(A greenish 7'3 man walks in the fields, and notices the trail)hm...guess i aint the 1st one here then...anyways (he looks around, look at his beautiful this place is) hm...nice place though

Magus jumps from the shadows and lands in the grass, he looks around to take a look of the field. Footprints... Magus took a look of the footprints. A person... but I don't know from who... interesting After that Magus covered himself with his cape.
(He quickly glances at the caped person)Hm?, ay, cape person

Eito walked over from another area, lowering his sunglasses to look at the footprints. "Hmmm..." He shrugs. "Fuck it." The teenager starts following them.
Ayyy, eito, my man, how ya doing?
Magus looks at reperzel and then turns again to the footprints, he crouched to take a better look at them. I can´t tell if he was running or just walking... but looks like someone passed by... maybe I´m just overthinking it...
Ya know what sounds cool right now?....a robotic arm.
Magus ignores Zane and follows the footprints.
I'll just...go with ya (he follows magus slowly)
Upon following the footprints the combined group of Eito followed by Magnus followed by Zane would find that they seem to go quite a long way. Whoever this person was they seemed to be walking for a long time. As the night passed it would continue to get darker and darker yet the stars seemed to shine brighter than usual as if illumination the path. The grass they were walking on seemed to get shorter as well as their feet seemed to crunch onto the ground as if walking on sand. It was almost as if they were walking from a feild into a desert or perhaps a coastal beach of some kind.
OH C'MON, WHY CAN ANYTHING BE NICE FOR ONCE. AND THESE BE THE ONLY SHOES I GOT
(edited by Reperzel)
"Hoho, this will surely be thought of as a great decision." Eito seems extraordinarily amused at this. "Still pretty though."
(A young girl walks into the field confused but smiling. She's fine to be lost even in a place as remote as this. Her hair would be a almost flowing white, translucent color and her eyes would only barely be open to reveal small red pupils while the rest of her eyes were red. She walks in a random direction until she by sheer accident ends up encountering the others.) "Oh, people? Hello, do you know where we are. I've gotten lost it seems." (She laughs a little even though nobody said anything funny in particular.)
I swear ta lord, if I see even one demon today...it's not gonna be pretty

Magus cast a little flare around him in order to give the group some light, now, with a better look of the footprints Magus examined them again. nothing interesting... Just footprints... but he did a long way, so there must be something at the end, maybe a monster, or just a landscape. Magus continued thinking while he was following the footprints, after a few second he looked at Eito and Zane, then, at the sky filled with stars. when he heard Gullveig he turned to her. what are you laughing at?
Turning to face Gullveig, Eito raises one of his eyebrows and re-adjusts his glasses. "Fuck if I know, I just followed some footprints that went this way."
(She showed confusion at Magnus' question. Her eyes relaxed to the point of almost being closed.) "Laughing? Was I? I'm sorry, I didn't even notice. It's just such a wonderful night isn't it? The air is so cold and fresh. I wish I could have it all for myself."
But its gonna be ruined by some sortta god or super demon or some shit I've seen in the nexus....but ay, at lest I'm doing somethin'
Continuing along the path everyone would notice that though the ground was becoming more like sound it was dark in color with a few spots of light and the crunching was only growing louder as if they were stepping on shard of glass rather than sand. The stars in the sky would grow darker as the area around them grew darker as if to try and defy any light other than the stars. A light sobbing could be heard in the distance. It would sound like that of a child but it would seem as if it was echoing oddly.
Now we have glass and a child...I've watched enough anime ta know where this is going....
(edited by Reperzel)
Magus looks around and sees how his little flare fight to hardly give them a tiny light. The flare suddenly disappears and Magus turns to where the source of the sobbing comes from. ... Magus remains in silent waiting for the others.
"Well..." Eito is supremely weirded out by this turn of events. "I know exactly where this is going." He starts walking ahead. "Oh, this is a terrible decision..."
(The girl simply stares at the others with the small red dots peaking out through he eyelids. She seemed to know more than she let on but she would just stand there with a smile that almost made others want to feel happy as well.) "I'll just follow you guys if that's okay. I do like watching other people work, well almost always. I also hate seeing people mess up their jobs but you all don't seem that way so everything should be fine, right?" (The way she said that last line almost seemed sinister although it was hard to tell if she was trying to sound that way or if it was merely a coincidence that her tone seemed to imply a darker meaning.)
(He also starts walking forward, grabbing his 7'2 claymore with its golden hilt and the blade with its weird carvings and jems)....I know this will end badly
Magus continues walking.
As they would continue on the ground would begin to grow more and more solid in nature until the grass was gone and they were walking on thick glass. The glass would seem to reflect the sky as it took on the same dark color with the reflection of stars within. The air itself seemed to contain darkness like a thick haze but no matter how dark it became the group would be able to see with the light of the stars. The stars themselves though seemed to be closer than before as small balls of light would almost appear to hang in the air. Finally at the end of the path would be a dark figure of a child and a corpse able to be clearly seen in front of them. The body would have no physical injuries but a small burnt out stone would be held in their hand. The child would continue sobbing over the body as the darkness seems to surround them in a condensed form. Strange Child: "I-I didn't mean to...I just wanted..."
Eito stands there, staring at the child. "Fuckin' called it..." Eito would look around at the darkness around him before walking towards and sitting in front of the strange child. "What did you want?"
(The girl simply watches as if eager to see what'll happen. She would smile with her mouth open and her eyes a little more open revealing just how dark her corneas are.) "I wonder what 55 is gonna do? This is really exciting!"
The child would seem to look up immediately upon hearing Eito's voice. His eyes were as bright as the star themselves and his skin as dark as the night. There were small glimmers of light similar to stars lining his skin as if the boy was made from the cosmos themselves. This effect even spread to his hair leaving only his dark clothing as any semblance of normal. He would speak in a echoed tone. "I...I wanted to know more about them but another I was connected to is dead now too...I'm alone again. They're all gone because I got upset. It's all my fault..." Tears would once again well up in his eyes as if he was about to start crying again.
Magus walks towards the kid and Eito. Stop crying. Magus couldn't help it, he wasn't used to be kind.
"The one you were connected to?" "Can you explain?" Once the child's tears appear again, he sighs. "Look, stop and breathe for a moment, okay?" Upon Magus' 'request', Eito turns around to glare at him briefly. "Dude, what the fuck?"
The child would try to stop crying as they got up and looked back up to Eito and Magnus. Strange Child: "Alright, I'll try. I just don't want to be by myself again. Why do they have to be so fragile? I wish I could help more but I'm fragile too. Those I'm connected too... I want to be connected more and more but in the end they all disappear eventually. I want to save them but as long as they put themselves in danger I can't do anything."
Eito sighs once again and offers his hand to the child slowly. "Well, maybe you don't have to be alone." He takes another look at the corpse, his expression souring. "What happened?"
Magus thought about what the kid said. Connected? To what? This kid is suspicious... What do you mean with "be connected more and more"?
The child would look at Eito's hand with surprise. A smiles of relief would cross his face as he took the hand being offered. A warmth unlike anything Eito had felt before fills his hand as a small round object can be felt in his palm. "Thank you, now I won't be alone anymore. Now I have you." The child would turn to face Magnus. "Connected as in carrying a peace of me with them. As long as your connected to the universe then I shall always remain by someone's side."
(The girl giggles slightly seeing Eito take the boy's hand.) "I hope you know what you're doing. Making a connection can lead to happiness or perhaps it'll only create more suffering? Who knows but it sure is fun to watch."
Then be connected to Eito, be carefull because sometimes he stabs himself when he is bored. Magus looked one more at the kid, then he turned to Eito. I hope you know what you are doing.
"Well then..." "Yay?" Eito sighs as he examines the object, responding to Gullveig without looking away. "Well, either way, something's gonna happen." He then briefly turns to face Magus with an irritated expression on his face. "Very funny." "And for your information, no, I have no idea what i'm doing." He goes back to examining the object.
(edited by Eito)
The object would shine with what seemed like a small universe swirling around inside. A serene warmth could be felt coming off it as the child smiled. Eito could almost feel the joy the child felt in his own head. It was when he quickly got a look of the girl standing behind the rest that a hint of fear could also be felt coming off him.[i] Strange Child: "Eito, please stay away fro-" Suddenly a loud alarm would go off causing a almost deafening siren. In a large flash of light a woman with striking blue hair and pale skin would appear with her barely open. Her voice would be be pleasant but seemingly devoid of any proper emotion. Blue-Haired Woman: "55, you made quite the effort in getting away. You killed an employee too. A shame but no matter. We'll be returning you to the facility now. You will show no resistance correct?" The child would show fear but after looking to Eito he would get up and walk toward the woman. Strange Child: "I'm sorry but...I better go with her."
(Upon noticing the woman a playful smile formed on the girl's face as she backs away from the rest of the group to use the darkness to hide herself.) "Sucks for you, 55. Hehe!"
"I don't fucking think so." Annoyed by this turn of evernts, Eito starts walking towards the child while looking at the woman. "Explain to me what the fuck is going on." "Now."
What is going on here? Explain yourself. Magus looked at the woman with a piercing look.
The woman would simply smile at the threats as her eyes opened to show a yellow glow. From seemingly no where she would pull a neat stack of papers out and look them over. Blue-Haired Woman: "Eito? You are strange but not strange enough to require containment like this one. Perhaps if you were to become something of use but for now we do not require you. As for your questions, I have no need to answer them. I am here to assist our manager, nothing more. Now if you would not interfere it would make my job that much easier. 55, come over here and I'll have you transported to the facility at once." Reluctantly the boy would look at Eito once more before walking over to where the woman was. "Please, don't get involved. They would just use you and throw you away like they do with everyone else."
"First of all, how do you know my name?" "Second of all, who are you?" Eito's eyes turn crimson. "Third of all, how do you suppose you'll do this before I do something i'll probably regret?" He starts walking towards the woman faster.
Magus' eyes turned even more red, he was annoyed an angry. You don't have to answer? Then I will interfere in your job, because you want to use the kid for something, right? Magus looked the kid for a second, but his eyes quckly returned to the woman, he said while he was preparing his scythe. I won't let you go that easily.
The woman shows no concern as Eito walks closer. Blue-Haired Woman: "There it is, your eye color changing. However, it does little more than make it harder for you to control yourself. If it were anymore then you would require more serious measure but as you are now you are simply in the way. I suppose I could at least tell you. I am known as Angela. Not that my name is anymore than a way of identifying me. As for you, Magnus was it? Our companies methods are a secret to anyone besides our staff but we are the major energy producers in this world. This 'child' as you call them is nothing more than a tool to help us accomplish this task." The woman would turn away from Eito and seem to be typing something into mid-air. An unknowable text would flash in the air where her hands were as the child look nervously to the ground.
Magus lowers his scythe while he looks at the kid. A fight now could affect him, he is very scared now, maybe is not the best idea. Energy producers? What kind of energy? Because I've seen a machine like that, also, that kind of thongs ends in a bad way.
Eito seemingly angry at this point, puts his hand inside his jacket, as if to reach for something before stopping. His eyes are back to normal. "What kind of energy are we talking about here?" "Because this all smells like bullshit."
Angela: "As I have said before, that information is a company secret. If you would wish to join our company then I'm sure you could undergo the resume process. With your talents I'm sure you would make a fine employee, however, now it is time for me to leave." An image would pop up in the air behind Angela showing the text 'Transportation Process Starting...'. It seemed that she was about to return to her facility with the child in stow.
"Oh, fuck that!" Eito runs forward to grab the child.
Magus quckly dashes to the woman. Magus is determined to not let her leave without an answer... something was motivating Magus, he felt like another machine like the one he hated when he was a child could be created. He knew what he had to stop it.
The woman would remain calm and simply raise her hand towards Eito's path. A blue light would form in between the child and Eito forming a transparent blue wall. Magnus on the other hand would find that in his attempt to dash towards the woman he would simply phase through her. It seemed whoever she was she wasn't even here in the first place but just a hologram. Angela: "I apologize but it is now time for us to part. Hopefully we do not meet again." A flash of light would ring out once more as the woman and the child would vanish from site. It seemed as though they returned to the facility she mentioned.
(The girl finally comes out smiling and giggling.) "For someone so perceptive she's a real idiot. She didn't even see me which mean I'm still free. Bye bye, 55! Try not to suffer too much!" (The girl continued giggling as she tried to walk away from the others.)
"RAAAAAGH!" Eito punched the wall before turning around and pacing. "This is bullshit!" Upon hearing Gullveig, Eito sprints after her. "Hold the fuck up."
Magus stopped and looked at Eito, he knew Eito was Angry, but maybe he wasn't thinking properly. Eito, calm down.
"Nah, nah, nah, i'm not calming down." "I want answers, and I want them now."
(The girl looks back at Eito still smiling. Her red pupils showing through her closed eyelids.) "You seem upset by something. You shouldn't be made at me though. You were the one who messed up the minute you thought the corporation could be so easily opposed."
"I don't care." "What do you know?" Eito seems extraordinarily mad.
(The girl's eyes finally seemd to begin opening wider as her smile disappeared in response to Eito's repression. Her voice took on a more serious tone as a second voice seemed to speak with her.) "Please, that's no way to ask for something. Besides, you're getting yourself involved in something that's far beyond your understanding. It would be better for someone like you to not get involved. What and who we are is not something you can even grasp your small mind around."
Magus walks towards Gllveig while he prepares his scythe. Then I'll torture you, unless... you decide to colaborate with us. Magus electrifies his scythe. PM: 92.
"Stop with the shit and tell us." Eito's eye twitches, briefly turning yellow. "Please."
(For a moment longer the girl would maintain the serious look as a golden mist seemed to from around her body. Then she would return to her smile as the mist instantly vanished.) "You're both such sourpusses. Usually people will at least flinch when I use that voice on them. Your lucky I'm not really in the mood to be scary right now. I don't really know much either, though. I usually just sleep when in containment since its so boring. Usually they send someone in to try to get my attention but they usually don't do a good job so I have to kill some of them. If they can't even make me happy then they have no value anyway, right? Anyway, they're probably holding 55 in a similar prison and trying to get a good reaction out of them too. It doesn't really matter. They probably won't even use 55 after they broke this far out."
"Thank you." Shuddering, Eito's eyes go back to normal. Having calmed down, he sighs and pulls out the stone. "That's...Pretty fucked up." "Anyway, I think I need to do something." Eito brings the stone close to his chest and focuses, whispering. "Let's hope you're still okay, kid."
I'lk ask it only one time... who are they? And don't test my patience.
(The girl would look at Magnus playfully as she put her hands up and shrugged.) "I don't know. The employees only ever called it the Corporation. Not like they would tell someone like me everything. That'd be pretty silly, wouldn't it?"
