I'm not into RPing at all but this sounds very cool. An issue would be that you would have to prepare all of the different scenarios. At least, that's what I think.I see... That is true, it would take quite a bit of time to plan out, but that's kind of a given, and if not an RP, then it could be a "Choose your own adventure" sort of thing with a preset story and only control that character, with a couple of DnD elements for combat choices and outcomes.
The biggest issue is usually deciding when to close voting and how much freedom you want to give people with write-ins. If you're looking to run a quest/CYOA yourself and want some ideas, there are plenty of examples here (good, bad, and stupid) http://boards.4chan.org/qst/I see... I'll look into that. As for the voting, that's one thing I'm confused about, whether there would be pre-written options, or users can write their own choices which can be entered into a poll, and people vote on what to do (maybe except for certain situations where there would be pre-written options, such as a combat menu.)
So it's pretty much twitch plays Pokemon, RP edition? To a certain extent, yes, just with a bit less direct control over the character's movements... and minus the fossil worship.
You don't really need to use a poll site, if people just post their answers in the thread it encourages more activityIn that case, how should it be decided? Should there be a limited time to answer, and afterward, their answers would be entered into a poll? Besides, there will be a few moments where a pre-written poll would be required, such as a battle menu during the normal phases in a turn-based RPG.
