Cattail Arena: Hands-Off, No Punches Pulled!
The arena is the same as ever, set up for Round 2's final match tomorrow. A wooden platform is where a two-tailed silver cat is sleeping. The pool just under the wooden planks is still.
Come back tomorrow for a conclusion to this round!
Akechi walks into the arena, finally ready to fight.
It feels like alot of time passed since i did this, well no matter now i'm here and ready hopefully this is gonna end in my favor but who knows?
Let's see the events unfold.
After saying that he stops in the middle of the platform and starts to polish a gun, while waiting for his opponent to show up.
Quintus would walk into the arena in his usual gray/black overcoat. There would be a certain sadness to his eyes as if the arena itself reminded him of a time before certain events transpired. He would look directly at his foe with coldly as if this fight was more of another obstacle rather than anything else.
"I'm here, so you wanna start or should i? Either way, I can't allow myself to lose here...If I can't do this then...nevermind...lets just get this over with."
Very well, then i suppose i'll take the right of the opening act since i got here sooner, don't worry i'll try to be as quick as possible.
He quickly moves from his idle position, as soon as he does clothes change to white and red,robin hood appears right behind him and a little grin gets on his face.
Robin hood let's begin with makarakarn!
A shield now protects Akechi from all physical attacks.
"Shielding from...physical attacks? You...really don't k ow how I fight do you? Oh well, this should take too long if you're going to be making moves like that.
Yggdrasil Prime! Earthly Roots!
Armed Mode: Hookworm!"
As Quintus shouted the name of his Persona a massive tree would sprout out of the ground behind him with ash colored bark and golden leaves spreading from the branches. A golden serpent could be seen hanging on a branch as well before it would retreat into a hole in the center if the trunk of the tree.
Hooked blades would seem to grow out of Quintus' hands well. Two black blades with glowing red eyes located on their hilts. They were attached to Quintus' by black chains as well.
Four earthen roots would begin to grow from the ground around him as well as he got ready to attack with the blades.
The roots would aim to restrain Aketchi via his arms and legs as Quintus threw the blades straight forward towards Aktechi. The blades however would not deal Physical damage and instead would drain the energy from whatever they touched, passing through it in the process.
Robin hood would move infont of Akechi in order ot take the attack instead, but as a result his energy get drained and he's already almost exausted.
What a turn of events, my calculation seemed to be wrong, well then i wasn't planning on relying on robin hood for too long anyway.
Nevertheless i won't give up so easily.
Robin hood use Tetrakarn!
Robin hood would use that skill and then disappear.
That was not the end tho because as soon as he did Akechi's clothes changed from red and white to black and purple and a different persona would float above his head.
I present to you Loki then, he's much fit for this kind of situation.
Loki would then position himself infront of Akechi waiting for Quintus next move.
"Oh ho, looks like we've started!"
Panthera Dox sits at their usual seat.
"Lemme shake things up, hmm? Along with defeating your opponent, you can also change your score by hitting and breaking disks. Anyway... I won't toss too many this round, but just putting that out there!"
At these words, two red disks are tossed from opposite sides of the pond.
Quintus would smirk at the arrival of the disks. So, the focus didn't solely have to be on defeating Aketchi it seemed?
"Well, not gonna let a chance like this slip by! Yggdrasil Prime! Time to split our focus!"
On Quintus' command two of the roots would aim for either disk attempting to grab them and throw them against the ground to break them. The other two would also focus on separate tasks. One would begin retreating underground while the other stayed by Quintus' side to block any incoming attacks.
Quintus himself would once again throw his hooked blades forward to try to drain more of Aketchi's energy.
I'm not letting that happen! Loki shield me with Maragion and while you're at it burn those roots to ashes and melt the disks!
A wall of fire would cover the area around both Loki and Akechi, trying to prevent the sword to get through. Some of the fire would launch into the roots to burn them and melt the disks.
The disks inevitably break from both the fire and the roots. Panthera Dox isn't sure how to count that, so 2 points for each side.
"Well... that was meant to be an even throw, anyway. Let's try this now!"
A red disk, purple disk, and yellow disk are sent flying, the yellow one much higher than the others.
Hookworm's blades would begin reacting to the heat causing Quintus to recoil them. As for the roots that were hit by the fire they would simply recoil back to Quintus side not having been fully burnt.
"Looks like I'll need to use a different tactic for this fight. Just make sure you don't get nervous. You might end up with shaky legs."
Three of the roots would now stay by Quintus while a third began it's work spreading under Aketchi. The root would become part of the platform under Aketchi and began moving and swaying in order to but them off-balance.
Meanwhile, Quintus would begin switching his tactics as Yggdrasil's leaves would begin to fall. 6 leaves in total would float around Quintus for a time as he seemed to simply wave his hands past them violent winds would engulf the leaves as the flew outward. Primarily the leads were aimed at the disks but about two of them flew out in completely random directions.
Loki! Take those leaves and the disks down with Eigaon and use desperation on me!
And just so you know, i'm not some stationary target, unlike trees i can move freely, don't try and provoke me!
Rays of darkness would try to reach the roots and the disks that were flying above, Akechi then would jump forward from his position in order to avoid failing due to the roots, desparation then would begin to have effect on him, greatly decreasing his defense in favor of attack power.
He spends the rest of his turn glaring at Quintus while getting closer to him.
Akechi's darkness hits the red and purple disks, which... doesn't do anything for him. However, the leaves slice up the yellow disk, making it 4-2 in favor of Quintus.
Three purple disks go flying...
...also, part of the platform is on fire. Probably important.
Quintus would fend of the incoming rays by having his roots try to block it save for one which would return to him from where it was destabilizing the ground. The roots were beginning to crack now and he would simply use their remaining power to block Aketchi off from getting ant closer.
Three roots in total would try to impede Aketchi's path as the last root now attaching itself to Quintus' feet would try to grow deep down attaching to any ground beneath the water if there was any. If not then the root would simply do it's best to stay supported by any part of the platform it could.
"Time for a swim. Yggdrasil Prime! Tears of the World Tree!"
Six more golden leaves would fall from the tree and float around Quintus for a moment as he waves his hands over them. A vortex of wind would condense over each of the leaves as three of the them would try once again to aim for the flying disks.
However, the other three would be aiming for Quintus' greater target. The other three would aim to strike at the platform itself specifically aiming for the parts of the platform that would be burnt and weakened from the earlier attack. He was hoping to break the platform itself while having his roots keep him above the water.
As soon as he saw the roots blocking his path, Akechi ran back on the other side of the platform while evading the burnt parts of it, facing directly Quintus and trying to get as far from him as possible.
This could be the end, all preparations for this have been made! Feel the power of my ultimate move! Loki! Destroy everything with laevateinn!
Don't let him act in any way if he manages to survive this after!
Loki acted and purple fire started to surround everything, it would burn even more the platform but the main part of it would try to hit Quintus, it beared and incredible power, almost impossible to avoid and was even made stronger by the effect of desperation.
Quintus breaks all three disks, bringing his score... down to 1. Good job.
The tree Persona's roots hit muddy ground about 15 feet below the water, and it's a good thing, too. The platform begins to crack and break apart, a process only accelerated by the intense flames on deck.
A lone red disk is tossed. Probably so the combatants can focus more on the state of their platform.
Seeing The attack approaching Quintus would brace the last of his roots to try to block it as Yggdrasil itself would begin fusing with the root holding him up. He would have the root carry him up higher into the air while using the other three to try and take the brunt of the attack.
All three would no doubt be burned away with any reminanats that remained retreating back to Yggdrasil but if he succeeded he would be much higher in the air now as he called out his attack.
"Yggdrasil! Life's Bounty!"
Yggdrasil having raised along with the roots holding Quintus in the air would begin dropping golden fruit onto the platform. If the fruit was exposed to high enough heat it would explode on the spot.
With the arena as on fire and burnt as it is no doubt there would be a lot of exploding going on.
In a last ditch effort to get the disk Quintus would throw one of his hooked blades towards it allowing the blade to interact with physical objects for the moment. Hopefully his added height would allow him to strike the disk first.
My laevateinn...evaded?!? How dare you!
Loki! Focus on the disk aswell and slash it with brave blade!
Loki would move from Akechi's position trying to aim for the red disk, in the meantime he braces himself trying to avoid the impact from the explosion of the fruits and once again glaring at Quintus, maybe to try and use laevateinn once again in the future.
Try to not evade it next time! I want to see your trees burn until nothing is left standing. I don't care if i have to fall into the water for this!
By some miracle, Loki hits the disk first. Score is 3-1 now.
Unfortunately, Akechi won't be so lucky in the future. The explosions don't hit him, but they certainly hit the platform, which is just seconds away from collapsing at this point.
Another red disk, a yellow disk, and a white disk go flying.
Quintus would continue supporting both himself and Yggdrasil up in the air as the roots would wrap around him further to create a more stable bond with both the ground under the water and roots. He would use this added support to try and go higher up above the disks.
"Alright, I'll keep going...Tears of the World Tree!"
Six more golden leaves would fall around Quintus. He was beginning to grow tired from overusing this skill but without his roots to manipulate he didn't have much choice.
As he waved his hand the leaves would go forth this time two each flying towards the disk and hopefully having reached above the disks as well having the leaves continue travel as they attempt to hit the disks into the platform to speed it's destruction along.
If not destroying the platform then hopefully at very least the impact would serve to throw Aketchi off balance or at very least break their focus.
Tsk, let me guess now.
Are you trying to prevent my fire to have any effect due to the water?
No matter, i still have some other things i can try if that happens.
Having said that, he looks upon to Loki, ready to give him a command.
Loki! Aim for as many of the disks you can with maragion, burn the leaves and melt them!
Akechi could hear the platform breaking as a piece of it wouldn't be able to support him further. In the meantime Loki would aim at the disks to melt them and burn hte, leaves with maragion.

The platform finally breaks and Akechi falls in the water that before was under him.

Akechi is wet now. Not a fun sensation. Hope he can swim!
Quintus hits the yellow and red disk, bringing his score up to 4. Akechi, though... Panthera Dox smiles.
"Good job, you hit the white disk, Pancake Boy! That one's special! It always brings your score to 0!"
A red disk and black disk are tossed.
Quintus would begin focusing on his roots as he tried to speed their recovery underground. In the end all he could manage was one root but that was enough. This time he'd have the root appear under the water below specifically by Akechi. The root would attempt to bind his legs before dragging him deeper into the water.
Meanwhile, Quintus himself would try to move and block Akechi from the black disk with his own body as he used Hookworm's blades to try and reach the red one in an attempt to break it.
He wasn't sure what the black disk did exactly but he was slightly scared to find out and didn't want some effect that may change the course of the game as it was.
Agh! That's quite unfortunate.
I'll try to aim for that disk, hopefully the score will change.
Loki! Use brave blade on the black disk, cut Quintus too if necessary! and try to hit the red one aswell!
Loki would soon fly over to the disks, trying to hit them with brave blade.
In the meantime Akechi could feel something trying to bind and he tries to shake it off him.
Akechi hits the red disk first, but Quintus's body blocks the blade from reaching the black disk. Probably for the best, although Quintus still has a 4-1 lead.
Time for something new! A white disk is tossed towards Akechi, while a yellow disk and red disk sail just above the water's surface.
Quintus would have no choice but to take the hit. He'd almost lose his concentration from the pain as his arms would be cut up but Yggdrasil's high defensive properties allowed him to somehow endure the attack. His energy would certainly be low at this point but yet another root would have finished it's regeneration process making a total of three roots under his control now.
"That hurt but now I'm going to try to finish this match for good..."
Quintus wouldn't hesitate to try and have the second root attach to Aketchi as well. The first root might have been stalled at Aketchi's attempt to free himself put with the second they'd once again try and forcibly pull him under the water.
Quintus himself would lower a bit and pull out both of his hooked blades to try and hit the red disk specifically. His idea was that concentrating both blades on the disk worth the most would be the best use of his focus.

the root was still binding Akechi's leg to get him underwater as he was trying to shake it off as much as he could, he would have to act fast and he decided to call upon Loki once again.
Loki we got no time to lose! Prevent Quintus from acting!
Get infront of him and use brave blade once again! Be sure to cut where it hurts.... i just have to hold on a little longer....
Loki flies over to Quintus ready to hit him with brave blade, hoping that the attack would prevent him from hitting the disks and stop the roots to free Akechi from them.
In the meantime he would try to use his full force to take them off hoping to not be dragged into the water.
Quintus manages to strike the disk for a 5-1 lead, and-
"I think the winner is clear now."
Panthera Dox's voice rings throughout the arena. They lean against their desk.
"I was going to go another turn, but things seem a bit rough, and Quintus is clearly in control. For the sake of time and so our little contestant here doesn't get too wet, I'm calling it here! Quintus wins!"
After striking the disk Quintus would be hit one once again with the attack. This time with the distraction of the announcement of his victory he'd have no time to brace for impact.
Being destabilized from the hit he'd fall and land directly into the water below making a big splash as impact was made. The roots would all release Akechi as they return to Quintus to help keep him above the water.
"Ow...that's really gonna sting later on. So, I won then? Guess I can be in this tournament a little longer but these fights are definitely starting to get exhausting..."
