The Emerald Rogue
It was a cold, moonlight night on the city streets. By now most people had found their way home, whether they needed to be up early, or out of fear of the rumors. Ah yes, the rumors, its long been superstition, the light of a full moon has often been said to fill the air with an air of intrigue and mystery, perfect for the supernatural. Yet, tonight it feels a little heavier. One can almost hear faint whispering among the shadows, of course, nothing can be discerned from this noise, yet an unsettling feeling remains nonetheless Walking down the main street, there are several alleyways, three on each side, that lead to smaller parts of the city. Aside from the general air of unease, little of note can be seen along the empty streets. A brief flash of green leaps from one alleyway to another, occasionally stopping to look back, almost as though afraid of being caught
*walks onto the scene* Hmm? What was that green flash just now? And why do I keep teleporting to random places. Well, if experience has taught me anything, it's that whenever I teleport, something goes horribly wrong most of the time.
A young girl stares up at the moon from the top of a building... Hmm, there's something about it she can't but like despite any muttering or horrible feelings in the air. It's not as if she's any stranger to horrible things going down by this point. "A lovely night out... But for some reason, I don't think that things will stay that way, almost li-" Homura's thoughts are cut off by the sight of some flash of green, green like... She'd begin chasing after the presumed person, for dashing between walls on the tops of buildings and aim not to be seen while attempting to keep up with them, for some reason the whole thing makes her a bit curious about what'll happen.
An odd sight to be wandering the streets: a suit of armor, illuminating its path with a glowing sword. The owner, Rex, couldn't sleep at all. That and boredom drove him out today... He swore he could see something move nearby. Running after it is a noisy and slightly slow process, but he's got to catch up to it somehow.
Marisa keeps sight of the scene as described in the first post, in addition to being able to see Rex do his best to keep up with the figure. As for Homura, she chases after the green flash, cutting across the rooftops to easily keep up with the figure below. Looking down from this angle, Homura's unable to make out much more of the figure, their head and back covered in a long, green cloak, occasionally seeing a glimpse of white down their gloved hands. Before long, the figure stops and turns around Rex chases the figure down a nearby alleyway, unfortunately for him, a clanking suit of armor with a glowing sword isn't exactly the stealthiest of things in the world. Rex catches sight of a deep green cloak as they go down an alley. Now off the main road, the cloaked figure turns around, allowing Rex to see them much more clearly, though their mouth is covered in a deep green cloth, Rex can discern their hazel eyes. Beneath the cloak the figure is wearing a short-sleeved green shirt, with white lines down the middle drawing attention towards the emerald clasp holding their cloak on. The figure eyes Rex warily for a moment before asking ???: So what exactly are you anyways? Mind taking the helmet off so I can see? Least you could do for snooping.
Oh, uh... Rex didn't expect this to be this easy. Nor did he plan this far. He waves his free hand, as if waving away her questions. I'm Rex, a... traveler. I'll keep my helmet on. I'm not very... photogenic? Technically true. Now that he thought about it, didn't she ask "what" he is? ...He's probably overthinking it.
*Marisa keeps to the shadows and tries to follow Rex, hiding behind a box and paying full attention to the surrounding area when the two stop.* "hmm...wait...is that...? Interesting...maybe there's another problem going on soon? Yeah...I knew it anyway. Damn teleportation. Still, definitely hope nobody can read my mind. That would be a problem..."

Homura keeps to the rooftops, lurking above and aiming to stay inside the shadows. That person in armor is quite odd, but moreover, the girl in green is likely a Magical Girl, if she's out here there's a good chance of... She glances down at her Soul Gem, aiming to sense if there's a Witch nearby as she continues observing the pair below her.
The cloaked figure takes a few steps back from Rex, pulling three knives from beneath her cloak to throw at Rex's sword arm. The blades of these knives would slice straight through anything they come in contact with, as though they simply weren't there, and ultimately sail through to embed themselves in a wall on the opposite side of the street. ???: You didn't seriously think I'd fall for something like that? You monsters are all the same, world's better off without you. The whispering seems to intensify around Homura as she attempts to search for a Witch.. SHe feels something faintly similar to the thing she's used to. Yet quite distinctly. It would be difficult to pinpoint, in fact, if anything this sensation seemed to be coming from all around her
The knives tear through the armor easily, but no blood or anything like that comes out. Rex gasps and grips his arm, specifically holding a chain that had its links sliced. The chain fixes itself within a few seconds. He steps back, holding his sword up. L-listen, I don't want any trouble! I'm human! Not a monster! Can't we just talk about this?

"Hmm? Cool knives. Looks like they can cut anything. Well, almost anything probably. I should stay away from those, no doubt she can summon them out of things air. Time to play damage control, I suppose." *Marisa walks out from behind the box and into the open with a worried look on her face. If one were to pay close attention, they could tell that she's prepared to dodge at a moment's notice, and that she's clutching something inside her robe* Excuse me, but that didn't seem very nice. Could you please explain what's going on, because I have a feeling something is going on.
Homura's not about to sit something like this out, instead, she'd leap down from the building and stand in between this girl and the... Living armor? That she's attacking. Gears inside of Homura's spinning a bit as she prepares to defend against more attacks. "Don't judge a book by its cover around here, not everything is connected to Witches somehow in this place, and thinking that you actually know how things work in this madhouse is the height of folly... I'm pretty sure nobody knows for real, but if there's one thing that's sure it's how you shouldn't be this quick to strike!" Despite aiming to sound friendly, Homura's voice would come off with a biting edge under it, she's annoyed with this other person's trigger-happy antics and she can't help but let it show.
Down on the ground with the others, Homura might vaguely remember the other girl's voice. But her face is covered well enough that it is difficult for her to be certain. The girl glances between Homura, Marisa, and the living armor. Had there been much of anything under Rex she'd have had a lot of apologizing to do, instead, they take a deep breath, first glaring at Homura ???: I'm sorry, how long have you been here? I think I'd be able to tell if there were Witches involved. No, this is just an ordinary monster. Kind of like that "Rep" pal of yours. the green-cloaked figure steps back, towards the end of the alleyway in case they have to run, eyeing Rex warily as they do so ???: Sorry to break it to you, but a human would have something under that suit of yours. Monsters are always bound to hurt people, its in their nature. And its my job to prevent that sorta thing from happening As Marissa had guessed, the cloaked figure pulls another four knives out from under their cloak. This time the knives go flying through the air towards Rex's chestplate, an arm was obviously ineffective, so its time to aim somewhere generally more important. The faint whispering seems to grow louder, although no words can be made out of it. The cloaked figure seems to be either ignoring it, or perhaps is unable to hear
*Marisa pulls out her tome and tries to redirect the knives away from Rex's chestplate, seeing that blocking them would have no effect.* Hey! Some of us my not be human, but we care about humans! Why, just look at me for instance! I'm part dragon, but that doesn't mean I kill senselessly! I take it out on open fields, away from everyone!
Rex attempts to dodge, then begins to back up some more. He seems ready to bolt at any second. Listen, I didn't want to be like this! And this place has everything from "Persona-users" to magical girls! Is the concept of a haunted suit of armor that hard to grasp?! A pause. Well, technically it's not the armor that's possessed, but still!
(edited by Rexcalibur)
Time grinds to a halt, she was already prepared for something like this to happen and as it does so she'd quickly spring into action by pulling the knives from the air by their handles. After storing the weapons inside her shield, Homura returns to her place from before and resumes the flow of time with a smirk on her face. "So you just kill things for not being human then? Seems a bit too murder happy for me, but I guess I like to be sure of what I'm doing before pulling the trigger... As for how long, since August last year, why?" She eyes the girl warily, anyone who's willing to start shooting this quickly just for someone not being human is... On a list of people, she's not fond of by nature, the world isn't so simple as to call anything other than humans a "monster". "I wouldn't call Zane a friend, by the way, he's more of... A person who I happen to put up with, but see that's just it. They're people too regardless of being human or not, and if you disagree with that so strongly... Well, I guess it's understandable, but I can't allow it to go unchecked."
the cloaked girl blinks for a moment, looking between Marisa, Rex, and Homura. She can't tell where the knives went, the girl takes a deep breath, now is no time to be panicking. The girl glances at Homura again ???: I asked because you sound naive. Sure, maybe not every one of them's out to get you, but give 'em enough time and most demons and... For the sake of this comparison centipede-things will show their nature and attack. You seriously plan on just standing there until something serious happens? The girl backs away towards the edge of the alleyway, nothing can stop her knives, at least nothing has so far, so this definitely seems like the kind of fight she'd want to avoid, at least if it can be helped. Just a little further.... The whispering intensifies.. No, its not getting louder, its more like the sound is getting closer. A chilling, chorus of voices. By now its close enough that a few words can be made out."worthless". "Useless". And similar cheerful messages can be faintly heard among the whispering. This time the cloaked figure certainly notices, as they glance around the street behind them, searching for the cause of the sound
Homura smiles at the girl and... Nods. "Yeah, I would do that because people are worth giving a chance no matter they are! Is it naive? Yes, I'm well aware, but I can't live with myself unless I do that. That's my "Justice", I'll do what I can to help, but not until I'm damn sure of exactly what's going on." She'd go on, but the horrible whispering is reason enough to stop talking... Homura too would begin searching for the source of these sounds, only slightly concerned by the whole thing for now. "At any rate, I believe we have bigger issues to worry about right now than moral debate do we not? I've got no desire to harm you, but I won't let you just hurt somebody else either. For now, let's focus on figuring out what exactly this... The Witch-like thing around here is, alright?"
Well, if I take one of my parents into consideration...you wouldn't be wrong...but they suck at being evil, so they're not that big of a deal. Still, you shouldn't be so judgemental around here. We deal with things when they become a problem, not before they become a problem. If you don't like it, too bad. *Marisa, noticing the whispers getting louder, and noticing her magic did nothing, decides to use it again at the three knives stuck in the wall behind her. She levitates the handles, along with the knives, out of the wall and to her side, where she grabs and stuffs them in her robe before anyone notices her doing it* "These might come in handy for what's about to happen..."
A witch...? Rex has a feeling that this isn't the kind that rides on brooms. For now, he keeps his sword drawn and his guard up. Best to follow everyone else's lead.
The far wall in question Marisa is trying to get the knives from would be across the street, easily twenty or thirty feet. If that's enough to be in range, then alright, simply something I figured I should mention. Finally, the cloaked girl backs out of the alleyway into the next street. she pulls out a single knife, keeping a tight grip on it as they glance around ???: You keep calling them people. News flash, they aren't. Its better to, at the VERY worst, hurt one or two that MIGHt help out, than let one of the bad ones go. Not sure if you've noticed, but there are a lot of people, actual people, who can barely defend themselves here. The girl eyes Marissa warily for a moment, she seriously wonders if the girl has gone insane, all things considered. They just openly talked about one of their parents being evil after all. ???: I'm... Really not even sure what to think about you. Other than that you should probably get out before you get yourself hurt, but you hardly listened to me last time, so I guess I can't expect much here either The source of the whispering would finally show itself, emerging from the sides of the streets. Four black, wispy humanoids with glowing blue orbs for eyes seem to form out of the very shadows themselves. Their chest has some amount of scarring, seeming more solid than the other parts. Homura might recognize these creatures, months past. The cloaked figure, however, initially backs away, giving the figures a chance to glide forward into the moonlight street
Rex isn't sure what to think of the new arrivals, but he puts aside his annoyance and fear of the Knife Lady to focus on their newfound foes. His sword begins glowing, becoming surrounded in a blue light. Let's see if I can do this again...
Yeah... she's not actually all that bad, infact she usually is very nice. It's just that, being a goddess of insanity and general chaos and all, well, she needs to cause chaos every once in awhile. And yeah, there are a lot of innocent bystanders around here. Still, I'm sticking around again. Sorry about this. Heheheheh... *Marisa grips her book tightly to her chest, feeling the knives in her robe's pockets not cut anything due to its mysterious powers (namely holding items and not hurting it's wearer with said items), and starts aiming and charging a spell* Hold them off for a bit, okay? I'm preparing something special.
Homura pushes her glasses up with her left hand, a black katana with burn marks along the blade taking shape in her right as she stares over at the other girl. "We'll have to agree to disagree, in my mind anyone that's smart enough to think like a human is a person. That's my simple definition of it, and just like "actual people" as you put some are good some are bad. If I wanted to I could justify killing lots of things, Yakuza, just normal criminals on the whole... Why shouldn't they be slain for threatening others when we can do so easily? Simply put, I don't aim to play judge jury and executioner." As the shadows take shape, however, she'd begin dashing after the nearest one and aim to swing her blade through its chest. A simple sideways slash to test how easily the things fall, a bit of purple energy flowing along the blade as she enchants it. She'd speak absently to the others, not even taking her eyes off the foes as she does so. "At any rate, there are far greater things to worry about than moral conflicts at the moment... These things aren't the sort of being one can reason with, so it'd be best to cut them down before they can harm anyone. I'm assuming it gets worse from here though, for now perhaps we shall work with each other?"
Homura slashes through the nearest shadow effortlessly, its body parts easily around her blade, disintegrating as though being held together by nothing more than sheer malice. Homura can feel a faint chill as the shade slowly begins to pull itself back together. Neither Rex nor Marisa had been seen by the creatures, as they are both still in the alleyway, instead they focus their attention on "Knife Lady" and Homura, the two prey directly in front of them. Seeing Homura take out one of them, "Knife Lady" throws a flurry of daggers into the other one on their side, causing it to dissapate into that same black, wispy substance, allowing her to back further away from the others. ???: Unfortunately there's not too much of a point in fighting these. Only ones that ever appear in the city never seem to die for long. Like that Zane of yours, but more threatening. Sure enough, the creature she struck down slowly begins to reform as well, wispy blue orbs glaring at Homura and the cloaked figure. As for the other two, one of the creatures glide almost effortlessly towards Homura, claws extended in a vague attempt to slash at her, while swift, its movements are inelegant and predicatable, sort of like a charging bull. The other creature glances down the alleyway, finding two potential victims, the creature's wispy blue orbs focus on Rex and Marisa before it blocks up the passage itself
"What... Come Homulilly!" The girl's voice booms through the air as a black card takes shape in front of her, placed right in the wild charge of the shadow that's rushing at her, it'd smash the card and cause the girl's Persona to take form behind it. She darts back and feels claws bite into her left shoulder for a moment, right before Homulilly takes hold of her foe with both hands, usual weapon nowhere to be seen as the Persona attempts to rip off its foes arms and then quickly stuff the body into its mouth. "Eating them huh... Well, that's even more brutal than normal but I'm curious." Homulilly attempts to choke down the shadow, aiming to devour it whole within the shadow whisps of her face that's unhinged its jaws. Homura herself, on the other hand, isn't willing to watch, instead casually glancing around the place in search of... A TV actually, tossing them in there seems worth a shot, but there's likely no store with such things nearby, either way, she searches about.
Weird sword powers, don't fail me now! A burst of blue flame is fired as Rex seings his sword at the creature blocking the alleyway. It's more like an energy-based attack than a fire-based one. Once that's done, the sword's glow dims, and Rex raises it again.
Hmm...looks like Risen, only they can't die. Heh, in that case, I'll need to think up something more...I got it! Everyone, try to bunch them all up! If we can't kill them, we can trap them! I'll keep charging my spell, just try to get them all very close to each other, otherwise we'll be here a bit longer! *Marisa keeps charging her spell, now giving it shape and element*
As soon as Homulilly rips the creature's arms off, the whole body dissapates into that wispy smoke, leaving her with little to chow down on. Looking around the streets, there doesn't seem to be any department stores, however there is a salon with a smaller TV on the inside. It looks like it would barely fit one at a time, but hey, better than nothing. As for the one in the alleyway, Rex's burst of energy strikes the creature full force, causing it to dissapate backwards, seeming to scatter into the winds. Yet moments later, the mist begins to coalesce back in the alleyway, burning blue orbs glaring at Marisa and Rex as it slowly begins to reform its body. As for the two dealt with earlier, these shades would slowly finish reforming, glaring at Homura and the knife girl. With the two having destroyed them earlier, it seems their hatred is even more intense now. Finally, the cloaked girl looks up, how late is it now anyways? She clears her throat, calling out to the others ???: You should probably get going. We could be here all night if you really wanna try killing them. Not smart enough to use doors so they could be a lot worse. Know how to pick your battles and all of course, she had somewhere to be, but she can't very well leave now. Instead the girl simply preps a few of her knives, she has practically infinite, so there's little for her to worry about, just needs to fight defensively
"Killing won't work... I'll see what Marisa has got in mind, and I've got one trick of my own too. If they can't die, perhaps moving them elsewhere will be of some use." Homura darts forward, her weapon fading away as the girl aims to take hold of the small TV inside the salon, she'd try to grab it and drag the thing out toward the shadow Homulilly had killed before. "Homulilly, let's try something other than raw force for a change I want to see how they deal with that world." The Persona's shadow covered head nods at its master, aiming to rush toward the foe glaring at the two magical girls and grab hold of it by the head with one hand. She'd use the other to try and block any strikes it makes as she moves toward Homura, finally assuming she's able to keep it in place the Persona would attempt to push the damned thing through to the shadow world, the surface of the TV rippling like water as she makes contact with it and tries to toss her foe straight through. "If this won't work, then yes I'm inclined to agree we should leave quickly!"
Damn, it's a good thing I know a bit of metal magic. Still, this is going to drain a hell of a lot out of me in terms of mana. Just get them all close together, I can trap them in a cage! Then we could find some way to dispose of them! If this doesn't work, I don't know what to do, but we can't just let these things go unchecked! *Marisa starts magically creating an outline for the cage, using glowing lines to show how big it is and where it would be made. It's enough to trap the four of them in with a bit of room to move around, but that's it. Noticing the thing coming at her, she takes out her new bronze sword and tries to hold it in a blocking position* "this might hurt a little, but it'll be worth it if I can trap these things."
OOC: The four are rather spread out at the moment, roughly where relative to the alleyway or street would you say the cage outline is, and how large would it be? This will make it easier for me to base my next post
OOC: it's in the middle of the street, and roughly ten feet wide on each side, with a height of seven feet.
After breaking into the Salon Homura wouldn't be able to bring it far outside without unplugging the cord, something generally ill-advised when trying to tune in to the TV world. With Homulily being relatively gentle, the creature would struggle as hard as it can, aimlessly slashing about Homulilly's arms and legs. Unfortunately for it, the creature isn't very strong, and can do little to resist being shoved into the TV world. It still can't really die, but at least it won't be bothering anyone any time soon. Catching sight of the forming cage, The cloaked figure tosses a knife by the head of the other reformed Shade, merely to catch its attention and distract it. ???: Over here ugly, just come and get me. Mindless as it is, the creature doesn't bother thinking about the likelyhood of it running into a trap. In the alleyway, Marisa's shade finally reforms, glaring at her... Only for another knife to scrape by its head and catch their attention. Frustrated, the creature dashes out into the streets, chasing after the cloaked figure The final shade reforming in the street wouldn't seem to notice what happened to its previous companion, instead rushing for Homulilly, its nearest target, and the one who destroyed it last time. Its hatred unending, the creature aims to slash at Homulilly with its misty claws
Yeah, that's it! Just get them into that area highlighted by the glowing lines! The cage will be made near instant with how much charging I'm doing! Still, I'm definitely going to need a Mana potion after this, I'm already getting dizzy. *Marisa holds her book and sword tightly as she stumbles around a little, trying her hardest to keep her charging up*
Homura's Persona grins as her soul gem eyes light up, once again the Persona would attempt to grab hold of her foe by the head. Suffering some blows for the attempt and flinching a bit, but on the whole, she'd be able to stay out despite those for now given their weakness. "Let's put this thing to rest Homulilly!" Finally the Persona repeats her prior actions, aiming to carefully stuff the damned thing into the TV world without letting it "die" and escape. Things shouldn't be as likely to hurt anyone in there if nothing else. "Hey! I figured out at least one way of dealing with these guys, just have to toss them into a TV! Which uh I know it sounds crazy, but yeah that's really a thing I can do!"
Sure enough, the cloaked figure lures the first of the shades into the cage outline with ease, its rather small, but since they don't move while reforming she throws a dagger through the creature, causing it to dissapate, only to begin reforming. This would easily give the shade from the alleyway enough time to catch up to its companion, leaving them both in the cage's outline. All it'll take for Marissa to be done with and, since they're not exactly the most intelligent creatures, they likely won't be getting out any time soon. similarly, the second creature flails against Homulilly, weak as this variety is, Homura soon throws this one into the TV as well. With the shades mostly dealt with, the green cloaked figure would nod to the two, before briefly glancing at the moon ???: S... Sorry I can't really stay to chat, I'm running a bit late. Still, you did pretty well dealing with them. The figure mutters something under their breath before running off down the street, in the direction of the nearest park. If one were paying close enough attention as they run off they may notice a small flash of white following them, almost as though it were waiting
Now! *Suddenly, a large cage encases the two shades, trapping them in a powerful metal cage. Suddenly, Marisa collapses on to her back* Ahh...why is everything so spinny? Eh... I'm just gonna stay here for now...oww...just until I get enough Mana back to head home...
Homura chases after the magical girl, Homulilly vanishing in a quick burst of light as her summoner aims to keep up with the other girl... She's not sure why, but she is sure that she'd like to see where this is going.
The girl doesn't bother with her earlier caution, in such a rush she never even checks to see if she's being followed. In a few minutes, Homura enters the treeline of a nearby park, whatever its name is, they all start to blend together at this point. The cloaked girl runs towards another group of three. Without their Magical Girl outfits on, Homura would likely be able to recognize the group from the mall, a shorter girl wearing a simple, purple hoodie and jeans sitting on the bench being their leader of sorts, "Amethyst", while the other two, a slightly younger girl with medium-length, light-blue hair and a simple black t-shirt referred to as "Sapphire", and finally the blonde girl with long hair and a rather elegant black dress known as "Argent" seem to have been waiting. Considering her partners and color that means the cloaked girl was likely "Emerald". Amethyst looks up, breathing a sigh as Emerald finally emerges from the trees Amethyst: The hell took you so long? We were supposed to meet half an hour ago. Emerald tugs on the clasp of her cloak, its true she ended up wasting quite a bit of time, but what on might be a little rough. She briefly looks over to Sapphire and Argent, the two younger girls glancing between both Emerald and Amethyst themselves. Emerald takes a deep breath Emerald: I.. found a witch on the way. Is all. Course it wasn't a particularly strong one, but it still took a little while for me to deal with it. S.. Sorry about that. Emerald bows apologetically, Amethyst still eyeing the other girl warily. She's never been the trusting type after all. Although both Sapphire and Argent seem satisfied with the answer, Amethyst sighs, taking a piece of gum out of her pocket and beginning to chew it before asking Amethyst: Alright then, where's the seed? Surely you remembered to pick it up, right?
*Marisa suddenly appears behind some bushes, back to the ground and head spinning* "uhg...damn this teleporting crap. I really don't want to deal with this right now, especially since the world is spinning and I really don't want to waste a good Mana potion. Really, father, why did I have to inherit this from you? I don't want it anymore! At least I'll hear a little more on what's going on I guess...but still, I guess I'm sleeping here tonight...I just wanna die right now..."
Homura looks over toward the bushes, for now, she's simply staying in the shadows of a building and watching the group... Best not to anger anyone needlessly, but she'll have to get Marisa soon enough. And why the heck would Emerald call that a Witch? She could have at least just said it was Familiars to account for the lack of a seed. Whoever she is, her cover stories clearly need some work.
Of course, Emerald wouldn't have anything, Amethyst never approved of her... Other distractions, but in hindisght it was kinda obvious. Amethyst sighs, taking her silence for the obvious answer. The girl leans back in her bench Amethyst: You know, I don't really mind you bein' late. But now you're hiding something. Can't really afford to be keepin' secrets, you know? The other two girls look about nervously as Amethyst takes her ring off her finger. In moments a bright flash emits from the girl, before her outfit changes into a long, tight-fitting light-purple suit. adorned with only an amethyst brooch over her heart. With a sigh, Amethyst stands up. Amethyst: So where've you really been? Or were you planning on challenging me again. I think we all know how this usually goes. Emerald takes a deep breath, cautiously drawing a knife from beneath her cloak, though she wasn't planning to fight, having a weapon makes her feel a little safer Emerald: I.. Was just dealing with some monsters. Nothing important. Just... Kinda worried about what you'd say is all. Sapphire and Argent would remain standing in their civilian clothes, nearer the middle of the park, Argent doesn't move, instead just looking on while Sapphire steps closer to the two Sapphire: Do you two really have to do this again? Its hard enough without you arguing all the time.
"Hmm? They get into fights? Often? I don't really think that's how a team should work. Then again, I guess it would make some sense...I guess...with a group like this, there would be a few scuffles, but so often? Sounds like something is going on...hmm...wait, if I'm here, and Emerald is there, then Homura should be nearby. Hmm...maybe I should ask her what she thinks of the situation...well, when I'm not so close to the others..."
Fighting... Homura's seen it come to that before, but on the other hand, she's also seen her own merry band somehow get along once... Kyoko, Mami, Sayaka, Madoka, herself. If all of them could somehow work with each other even once, why is it so hard for these people? Either way, dissent among the ranks of a possible rival group is good to know about. She'd prefer to just leave it alone and not have to pull anything, but if these people pick a fight then she will be ready.
Amethyst sighs and flicks her hair, at least that bit's more believable. Emerald had a habit of chasing after monsters after all, nothing too surprising. With a sigh, Amethyst glares at Sapphire Amethyst: Her choice, I can't really abide by someone going off on their own all the time, makes 'em less reliable. Especially if I can't even trust her to tell me everything. Next she'll end up siding with someone else and I'm not gettin' stabbed like that. Amethyst grins and turns her eyes to Emerald's knife, they're mostly aware of each other's abilities by now, so it seems to be literal as likely as not Emerald, of course has little response, especially since she has been talking to another Magical Girl... If only she hadn't been seen, everything might have been so much easier. She's never been a very good liar, with Amethyst more than capable of seeing through her feeble facades. Rather than wait around, Emerald turns and runs, silently. Sapphire blinks for a moment before chasing after the older girl, she's in her normal outfit, so she might not be able to keep up with them for very long Sapphire: W... Wait up, where do you think you're going? Argent turns to follow Sapphire, but is stopped by Amethyst, who puts her arm in front of the younger girl to block her path Amethyst: Just let them go. They'll be back at some point. Or not, who knows? You've just gotta hope for the best kid.
"Hmm...I say hmm a lot...I should stop that. But seriously, it doesn't look like they want to fight... that's something to keep in mind. This Amethyst girl might not be such a pompous bitch like I thought she was... at least, not as big as I originally thought. Who knows, I might be reading into this wrong, and I am kinda dizzy from the amount of mana I used. Oh, wait, it's starting to die down. That's good."
Time grinds to a halt, Homura would get cleanly out of view of the group before unpausing. Actually going ahead of Emerald and aiming to follow without being seen... Of course, there's no telling if she can do so. Naturally, she'd be prepared to halt the flow of time more as she needs to.
Marissa remains near Amethyst and Argent the two continuing their delightful little conversation Argent: I.. If we're not going after them, what now? Amethyst shrugs, truth is there's not that much more for her to talk about. For now, she sighs and leans back Amethyst: Well, I don't have much of a home to return to, so I guess I'll just wait here. Maybe they'll come back. Think its safe to say the meeting's over though, you can leave if you want. Argent, glances around, the park's pretty empty this late at night, and she does have some people to return home to, but the girl shakes her head Argent: I... I can wait a little longer with you. Its no problem Homura gets a decent way ahead of Emerald, the other girl runs into the city, no clear objective in mind. For now she was simply hoping to get away. Sapphire slowly falls behind as Emerald ducks into a nearby alleyway. THe girl rounds a corner... Only to find a familiar, white, cat-like creature stretching in her path Kyubey: There you are, calling yourself "emerald" or something now, right? Not that its my place to judge of course. Let me guess, had another squabble with Amethyst. Emerald immediately glances around, Sapphire wouldn't have caught up quite yet, and she didn't remember seeing the Incubator in their earlier argument, but that thing always had some way of knowing. In some ways its like a monster, but so far he hadn't done much of any harm that she's aware of Emerald: What's it to you? I just needed to clear my head for a bit is all. soon enough Sapphire would run into the alleyway, likely within Homura's Line of Sight, and soon to find both Emerald and Kyubey
Homura's blood turns cold as ice upon seeing the white furry thing... Gahhh, she can't help wanting to get involved directly here, not sure if it's a good time yet though. Instead, she simply watches them for now, keeping an eye all 3 of her "targets". The real question, what's Incubator's game going after someone who's already a Magical Girl? Part of some greater plan, simply not having anything better to do... Trying to make people go witch faster for more energy? That's not his style though he's more long term. Homura shakes her head for a moment and clenches her fists, quietly cursing to herself as she tries to stay focused on listening instead of thinking about that thing.
"oh? No home to go to? Interesting...maybe I can use this to my advantage...nah, I'm not that evil. Besides, I can probably get back home now that the dizziness is subsiding. Just not going to be able to cast any magic for the rest of the night. Still, it isn't that bad. I still got those knives... heheheheh...still, I think I'll offer her something...later, anyway."
Kyubey tilts his head, walking a few steps away, so far he's successfully slowed the girl down, and gotten a chance to talk, best to make it count as soon as he can Kyubey: Your arguments don't mean much to me, after all, I have to remain impartial. But I couldn't help but notice how utterly embarassed you got today, not only by Amethyst but also by that Homura girl... So Emerald's knives vanishing was Homura's doing after all, she kind of suspected such, but there wasn't any evidence so she couldn't make such a conclusion for sure. Plus they did keep fighting the shades, even when it seemed pointless. Emerald grits her teeth and runs after the incubator Emerald: I.. I wouldn't say embarassed. And besides, what does it matter if we're not gonna be fighting anyways. Kyubey looks back, just as he had thought she'd say. His beady red eyes look into Emerald's own as he remarks Kyubey: Whatever you think of it, I'm simply here to offer an alternative. I'm sure you remember how Homura had that massive demon with her, the clock-themed one? Well, there's a pretty consistent way to get them at least. She even demonstrated it. All you have to do is jump into a TV on a rainy day and it'll happen soon enough. Around that point, Sapphire would run out of the alley, breathing hard, it takes her a moment to look between Kyubey and Emerald, guess they were having a short conversation. Sapphire waits a moment to catch her breath Marissa sees Amethyst sigh and leans back silently, its the kid's choice after all, she'd rather not try to impose anything. After a moment, Argent decides to sit next to Amethyst, the older girl raises an eyebrow, but doesn't say anything against it. Not much to say really. After a moment, Amethyst finally speaks up Amethyst: Y'know, you're by far the newest one here, you're well off, not seperated from anyone. Since we're alone I was kinda hoping you'd be willing to share. Just why did you become a Magical Girl anyways Risako? Could have lived a pretty easy life otherwise after all

"I hate to ruin a private conversation, but...I guess I'll just stay. Besides, it not like they can sense my magic. Ha! It's because I used it all! Hahahahahaha! Ahh...inside joke between a few friends, you should have been there. Wait, why am I talking like someone is reading my mind? Well, maybe someone really is reading my mind. You never know, huh?"
Jump into a TV? Not without another Persona user to open the damn gate... And moreover, it's hardly as simple as that. Tch, Homura steps out from the Shadows and reveals herself, looking over at Emerald and pushing her glasses up. "What my dear friend the Incubator leaves out, as usual. Is twofold in fact. 1: to enter the TV world you must have the aid of a Persona user. 2: Gaining a Persona involves fighting against a "Shadow" of one's self which is any thoughts lurking in your subconscious made into a being of sorts, at best you can just accept it and get the power..." She pauses, trailing off for a moment as her face goes dark at the thought of, well not everyone can admit what they hate about themselves. "Simply put, if you reject such a being it will attempt to kill you. They're powerful, and fighting is no fix unless you accept it in the end, if you can't do that well they're almost a surefire way to get killed..." That being said, she has at least some clue how to deal with the TV, between herself and Homulilly... The girl sighs and rubs the back of her head. "If you want to do it despite knowing that, well I'm a Persona user aren't I? I'd be willing to lend a hand with that Emerald, I don't really know you that well, and I don't agree with your killing of anything remotely like a "monster". But you seem like a good person, and I'd hate to see you get killed by biting off more than you chew without the help you need for it." At that she smiles, walking toward the girl and offering a handshake to her... Not quite the local custom, but it seems right for some reason.
Kyubey steps away for a moment, he'd be glad to offer a few corrections, but for the time being he sees no use to it, after all, arguing would be a waste of time. Emerald turns her attention to Homura eyes open, leaving Kyubey a perfect opportunity to simply trot out of sight. Instead, Sapphire catches up to Homura and Emerald. Having missed most of the conversation. Emerald: I.. Emerald laughs faintly, some attempt to hide any potential worry, hey, Homura had one, so how hard could it really be anyways... Admittedly they might disagree sometimes, but it would be kinda stupid not to let someone help when they're offering. Emerald: I mean... Are you sure about... Sapphire doesn't let her get any further, Emerald had an unfortunate habit of running off and getting herself hurt, and from what little she heard of the conversation, its starting to sound like another one of those times. Sapphire grabs hold of Emerald's arm to assure she doesn't go anywhere Sapphire: You're not seriously considering this are you? Just because you and Amethyst got into another stupid argument? If even half of what Homura said about shadows is true, its probably not going to be anything the other three need to hear. So for now Emerald tries winking at Homura, feigning indignation at the mere thought Emerald: Of course not.. Gee, you shouldn't worry so much. I'm just trying to see all the options is all. Sapphire doesn't seem too convinced, casting a cautious glare at Emerald, but there's little the girl can do about it for now. Instead she lets Emerald go with a sigh, the older girl stumbling backwards for a moment. Apparently satisfied, Emerald does turn to Homura. Emerald: So... I mean, unless I'm supposed to just run into you at some point, maybe you could give me your number? I mean, you do have a phone right? Just in case anything happens.
"My number... I don't give it out to that many people, but uh yeah just don't abuse it or anything. It'd be silly not to offer that much trust when I'm planning to go into the TV world with you! Although, hmm I might want to find some others... Not Sayaka, Madoka maybe but her hours are so strange, Ryoma-san?" The girl shakes her head, no sense muttering about allies and friends that this girl doesn't even know. She'd conjure a bit of paper from her shield and hand it over to Emerald with a smile on her face. "I may be a tad naive in some ways, but understand that I do know what I'm doing with these things to some extent... Magical Girl politics are utter crap as an old friend would say, I hate dealing with that stuff. So, leave me out of turf wars and all that, and I'll be happy to offer the same." She looks stone cold by this point, the tone and look at this point would give off a clear aura of not joking around in the least... Part of her wants to pull the vanishing act, but instead she stays to hear her new... Something's reply.
Emerald smiles and tries to wave off her concern, really she's not wanting any kind of fights either, and if she knows Amethyst well enough they probably don't want it themselves. Emerald: Don't worry about it, I'll probably never use it, but its a bit of a relief to have is all. Emerald awkwardly scratches the back of her head while Sapphire pulls out her own phone, typing something down in it. Emerald accepts Homura's number, looking around for the moment, it is getting rather late for sure. Emerald: A... Anyways. I'll be sure to text you or something so you have mine too, alright? F.. For now I had better get going. Sapphire runs off after Emerald, can't let her go for a minute, can she, regardless, Sapphire politely waves at Homura while chasing after her friend Sapphire: Hey, wait up, at least let me walk you home so you don't run into anything again. Emerald hardly heeds the younger girl, instead leaving Sapphire to catch up to her. The two run off down the street into the dark. A few hours later, Homura would get a text from an unknown number. The message reads as such:
This is Tsukiko Kaiba, or well, you probably know me as Sapphire. If you ever see Emerald getting into trouble be sure to tell me, ok? She can be a little overeager, but I'm sure her heart's in the right place. She probably won't tell me if she contacts you again, so please, promise you'll keep me updated, ok?
