This thread has inspired me to type out a long post. Thanks.
1. Persona 3 does in no way, shape or form need another fucking version, quite like how 4 doesn't need another fucking spin-off.
It's a complete goddamn waste seeing as there are plenty of other things to be done with the franchise.
2. Reception of Dancing All Night might have been somewhat negative, but the same cannot be said for sales and reviews, most of which were very positive, showing high numbers.
3. In your rant about all the demons, swords deaths and psychological drama, you failed to mention that the Persona series is not entirely comprised of those things, being half those and half 'Being a teenager in Japan' simulator complete with jobs, dating sim elements and complex relationships. It's not all serious business all the time.
4. Atlus can do whatever the fuck they want with the franchise, seeing as it's theirs and with the not altogether negative results of Dancing All Night, nothing really discouraged them from creating more games like it, and what better way to do it than to make 2 of them at the same time featuring both 3 and 5, just to milk the cash cow a little more. Originality need not be a problem, as long as people buy the fucking things, then why would Atlus care?
5. You don't need to take everything seriously, as no one should with these Dancing [INSERT WORD HERE] Night games. Fanservice is it's main goal, and it doesn't fail to provide it.
6. I have not said anything regarding P4G and whether it's a waste, but I personally believe it's a good addition to the franchise, essentially being a better P4. But that's the problem here, there already is a better P3: FES and I believe that's what Hibiki is referring to. Why would Atlus care to make another goddamn version of P3 11 years after it's release other than to appeal to nostalgia that may not even be enough to gather good sales?
