Rant about P3DMN/P5DSN
So, uhhh persona is a really special game for me. Not only the recent ones, but the old ones as well. Come on, which veteran haven't spent at least 500 hrs on the persona franchise? My favorite is P3P because it was the one I played for the first time and got basically addicted by it. Thus became the first game I'd call "special" for me. ANYWAYS just wanted to get it off my chest. So... the dancing games were announced with the P4D which I was honestly had 0 expectations of. Played it, and was satisfied with it just because it was a nice rhythm game, and continued playing it just because it was a nice rhythm game. I couldn't bear with the story because it was just there for the sake of being there and I really hoped for Atlus to never ever pull a stunt like this. I mean come on, it had quite a backlash too didn't it? SO WHY THE EFF would you make the SAME rhythm game for both persona 5 and PERSONA 3?!?! Boi Atlus U BETTER MAKE A PERSONA 3 REMAKE OR IMMA REQUEST A MTHAFKN CHANGE OF HEART ON YO ASS. dude it is a turn based jrpg title w/ demons, swords, demon swords, death, more demons, psychological trauma, more deaths and u take it and make it a DANCING GAME? phew yea I think I got it off my chest okay thread is closed.
'Thread is closed'. I don't think so nerd. You don't seriously want a remake for a game that already has two enhanced ports and is fully functional and playable as is, even on more modern consoles. It's a waste. Say what you will about the rhythm games but at least its a better use of resources and time than a Persona 3 remake.
Persona 3 remake was a joke tbh. I can still access it so no problems on that part. But making ports for old games (SMT nocturne, if, strange journey etc.) you know, instead of making the same rhythm game with little to no story, with no canonity and same type of rhythm game lemme remind you. P3 was an example because of its dark and gritty nature. And you turn that into a dancing game. I mean sure it is fan service, and sure it is fine when it is done a couple times. But when you do that for every single installment, it just loses its originality and on top of that it totally looks like milking the franchise to the core. You call a remake with an achievement system with possibly a new arcana or a new arc like they did with P4G a waste, but making the same rhythm game is totally okay? You see, that is something we should discuss over.
Well I agree with the potential for some older games, like If... or earlier Persona games, though Strange Journey already has a remake and Nocturne... no. Sure the rhythm games aren't exactly some great improvement over the first one. It is milking the franchise, and while I can't say I approve of it, it's just a fact it happens with this franchise. Yes, I do call a remake a waste. P4G was completely unneeded and many of the additions in my opinion undermine the original game. Persona 3 is one of my favorite games and I would of course love ATLUS to remake it and add a bunch of irrelevant garbage on top of the game... again.
This thread has inspired me to type out a long post. Thanks. 1. Persona 3 does in no way, shape or form need another fucking version, quite like how 4 doesn't need another fucking spin-off. It's a complete goddamn waste seeing as there are plenty of other things to be done with the franchise. 2. Reception of Dancing All Night might have been somewhat negative, but the same cannot be said for sales and reviews, most of which were very positive, showing high numbers. 3. In your rant about all the demons, swords deaths and psychological drama, you failed to mention that the Persona series is not entirely comprised of those things, being half those and half 'Being a teenager in Japan' simulator complete with jobs, dating sim elements and complex relationships. It's not all serious business all the time. 4. Atlus can do whatever the fuck they want with the franchise, seeing as it's theirs and with the not altogether negative results of Dancing All Night, nothing really discouraged them from creating more games like it, and what better way to do it than to make 2 of them at the same time featuring both 3 and 5, just to milk the cash cow a little more. Originality need not be a problem, as long as people buy the fucking things, then why would Atlus care? 5. You don't need to take everything seriously, as no one should with these Dancing [INSERT WORD HERE] Night games. Fanservice is it's main goal, and it doesn't fail to provide it. 6. I have not said anything regarding P4G and whether it's a waste, but I personally believe it's a good addition to the franchise, essentially being a better P4. But that's the problem here, there already is a better P3: FES and I believe that's what Hibiki is referring to. Why would Atlus care to make another goddamn version of P3 11 years after it's release other than to appeal to nostalgia that may not even be enough to gather good sales?

The real tragedy here is there's no Persona 2: Dancing Sun Night where Tatsuya dances with Hitler over the body of Maya.
Now that would be a good game.
I, for one, hope they rerelease the P4 Pachinko machine. The lack of Marie in the original P4P was really upsetting to me. Sure she might be a waste of space, but she's a cute waste of space. In addition, uh... SMT V looks like a thing I guess. So plenty of demons, swords, and psychological trauma will be on your doorstep soonish. And like Eito previously mentioned, it is a series with more lighthearted moments. So seeing characters dancing is just supposed to look fun and be fun....and lo and befucking hold, it's fun! It's ignorant to think that Persona is a series that can't poke fun at itself....I assume you've seen Persona Q? In conclusion, milking only works cause we buy it. Can you blame them for doing stuff that works? Especially when deep down, you and your masochistic wallet know that ya both enjoy it? #FeedTheMachine And agreed. I'd love to see Tatsu and Hitler doing the Goose Step Dance.
The more the Persona series gets milked and the more we buy spin-offs that are milking the series the larger the budget for remakes and new games.
LOL I just left the site for 2 hrs. I like the community already. I give you guys credit on the fact that persona is actually a lighthearted series. But damn, that's too light. I gotta take hibiki's word on the fact that these spin offs will lead developers to create more content and more fan satisfaction. The next question for the site should be "should there be a persona 2 dancing game". Damn. now that'd be weird. Not good or bad. Just weird. And definitely deserving of the money.
Everyone else has basically said most of my points but anyway *points at sales, which are a big factor in influencing decisions* *points at modern Persona itself, which is certainly more light-hearted and fits a dancing game than its parent series* *points at my boi Yusuke dancing* *points at chance to see a dancing door* I rest my case
Who doesn't want dancing doggo?
Last time I checked, ATLUS doesn't want dancing doggo.
The real tragedy here is there's no Persona 2: Dancing Sun Night where Tatsuya dances with Hitler over the body of Maya. I would spend money on that shit
Would people pay for a Hitler/Tatsuya DLC? It seems like something that would be free. Cuz Hitler
Koromaru or riot
The Dancing games need the option of using a dance pad like from DDR the music in Persona 5 is too good not to dance along and sing along. I know all the word to Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There, Beneath The Mask and Life Will Change.
Let the doggo dance pls
Persona 2: Dancing Third Reich Anyway, this thread is stupid on multiple levels. P3 doesn't need a remake and just because you don't like the dancing games don't mean others don't as well.
