The Spinning Wheel: Vehicle Repairs and Sales
By the docks lies an old warehouse coated in light white paint. While most things look serviceable, the door seems in pristine condition. A dim red neon sign lights up missing several lit letters. In total it would spell out 'The Spinning Wheel', but including the extinguished letters, it just spells out 'T-- Sp---ing W-e-l'. A young man in his mid twenties steps out of the entrance, and kicks the box linked to the sign. The lights all come on in a brilliant flash. He smiles, satisfied with his work, and heads back into the shop, well what looks like a shop. Some loud drill sounds perforate what remained of the peaceful splash of waves. Inside the young man bounces to the beat of an upbeat rock song, he seems to be singing along. "Let 'er rip! Let 'er rip! That signal's my spotlight! Let 'er rip! Let 'er rip! No way you're catchin' up to my mach speeds... "
A swat van drives by, stopping. A couple of Gundams follow the swat van. A swat member hops out then jogs to the man. "Can you fix bullet holes, missiles hits and laser beam marks?"
Gou shrugs, but he turns off the music. "Sorry pal, I'm more fit to fixin' broken tail lights than to fix combat damage."
Yumina, who's been wandering around aimlessly, hears the music and noise and decides to investigate Huh..... is this a car repair place? She peeks into the doorway
The swat shrugs. "Can you at least supercharge these to make 'em go faster or patch up the bullet holes?"
Uhh.... Yumina steps in and interrupts Sir? He just said he does simple repairs, and not combat damage... Doesn't the swat team have their own repair center?
Gou shrugs and begins pounding away at the side of the van with a mallet. He does this for quite some time. He stops and gives the SWAT a salute. "Bullet dents are gone, but you really ought to see a professional for this kind of stuff, I'm more a mechanic than a... uh... police mechanic." Gou notices Yumina's entrance, and makes a broad wave toward her. "Heya Shygal! I see you've found my pad!"
The swat turns to Yumina. "Well, yes, but we don't have any engineers to work it, so..." The swat shrugs again.
................. She looks at the swats with suspicion, after all, what kind of government doesn't correctly supply their peace keeping force with employees?.... But she ignores that to respond to Gou Hello. It seems I have~ she opens her menu and makes a mark on her map I was just wandering around. Do you want any help?
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
Gou wanders back into the warehouse, and motions for Yumina to follow. "If you wanna be of help, y'should probably take a look at THIS bad boy!" Gou gestures to a tarp covering what appears to be a motorcycle.
Star drives in on a motercycle made to drive on one giant wheel. Hey, i saw the sign so i thought i might check this place out and get my ride repaired. I'd repair it myself, but i ran out of parts. Anyway, it's got a starting problem that i don't know how to fix. I've tried changing the battery, but that didn't work. Any ideas?
Gou looks toward the motorunicycle and lets out an exasperated sigh. "That depends, lady. What seems to be the problem? Is that uh... 'bike' electric or kick?" Whatever he's talking about, it seems he knows what to do for either.
A plane like mech is seen flying by and lands near the garage. After which, a young man with brown hair gets out of the mech and heads into the garage, "I'm Heero Yuy of the G-team...I need a little repair on my Gundam really quickly." he said, scowling a bit before leaning back against the wall and waited for Gou to get started
Yumina examines the motorcycle, but obviously has no idea about how vehicles work Ok..... how can I help?
It's electric. Made it myself. The hardest part was getting it to balance itself at all times. star hops off her cycle and pulls a chair out of nowhere to sit on. Might be something to do with the key, but I'm not totally sure.
With a thunk, two cans of paint are set outside the warehouse. A certain sky doggo flies off once the delivery is made, probably off to do something.
Gou looks at Yumina, a deep frustration in his eyes. "Well, the original plan was to educate you on how to fix and make these kinds of things, but we're busy now, so you can help me as a tool jockey." Gou makes a large X of disapproval with his arms toward Heero. "Sorry, pal. This garage is for smaller vehicles, like cars, trucks, motorcycles, and not Gundams!" Gou turns back to Star. "I'll take a look at 'er." Gou begins to examine the 'bike', and almost immediately whistles with satisfaction. "Your spark plugs are burnt out, that's an easy fix! Provided you've got the cash."
The swat squad notices the Gundam, and eyes on him, thinking that this isn't a good time to pull the trigger when other civilians are around. "Shit."
star pulls out a small bag of yen. Will this do?
"Ah...that's a shame..." Heero said as he noticed the SWAT squad nearby, "I have to go anyways..." he said as he quickly jumped back on to the Neo-Bird and flew off. But he kept a close eye on the SWAT squad from behind, making sure that they don't follow
The swat turns to Gou. "Speaking of engineers, we'd be happy for you to join us! The pay rate is high and if engineering is your passion we got vehicles coming in every day!"
Gotcha. I'll do my best. With a salute, Yumina finds some paper and a permanent marker and sets to writing, then she shows the newly made sign to Gou WE DO NOT FIX COMBAT DAMAGE AND MECHA THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION Does this work?
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
Gou waves his hand dismissively at the swat. "Sorry, dude, working like this is more a hobby than anything else. I'd take you up if I wasn't busy these days." Gou looks at the pouch of coins. "Yeah. That'll do." Gou ties his jacket around his waist to keep it from getting too dirty. He comes out of the back with a set of spark plugs. He goes to get into the engine, but finds himself without a wrench. "Oi, Yu! Wrench! The smallest one in the second drawer down!" Gou motions toward a tool cabinet resting against the wall adjacent to him. "Oh the sign? Yeah that'll do!"
The swat member nods, hops into his swat van, driving off.
Alright! Yumina grabs a wrench, thankfully something she knows, and runs it to Gou Now then.... She steps outside and plants the sign into the ground in and easy to see place
star waits in silence as she waits for her cycle to be fixed.
Gou begins to tinker with the engine. Moments later he gets up and wipes the grease off his hands. "That should do it! Give the throttle a turn!" Gou leans in to whisper to Yumina. "How'd she ride in if the engine wouldn't start? Don't get me wrong those spark plugs were wack."
star hops on and turns the key, starting it up. Sweet. It took a few minutes to start it before, so this is a big improvement. Thanks! star tosses the sack of yen over to Gou before driving out of the garage.
Yumina whispers back I dunno..... Magic? She says she's a Goddess....
Gou shrugs. "Could be...? Anyway, back to my little side project!" Gou once again motions to his tarp covered motorcycle.
(A 7'3 man in what looks like a behemoth of a armor, walks in, with a lance and a shield with fire in it) ....the hell is a "garage"? (He says, as his voice sounds very deep and mumbly)
A garage is a place you take your vehicles to get them repaired. Yumina approaches the man and bows respectfully Is there anything we can do for you?
Gou goes to whisper again. "Do you remember seeing a garage sign outside? I thought I just had the name of the place. I don't remember advertising this place either..." Gou motions for Yumina to stand back, still whispering. "Keep on your toes here. That guy says a lot of things but safe isn't one of them."
Um...vehicle's?...this new world is a weird one (He says as he crouches down to the girl) Anyways, is there a smithy around here?, I got some I got some new materials I wanna remake (He says as he pulls out what looks like a red scale that looks like flesh)
Uhmm..... we only deal in matters if technological transportation... I don't think we have a smithy.... Nodding back to Gou, Yumina steps back for him to take over, though keeping her eyes on the scale in fascination
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
(He puts his head down in disappointment, and puts the scale in a bag, making a small clanking noise) Ah god dammit...wanted to make some odogoron armor..
Gou tries his best to put on a kind face, but he's pretty miffed about the constant interruptions. "The girl's right, pal. We ain't got nothin' that you're looking for. Don't know of any place near here that does really. Tough break." Gou shrugs his shoulders in as kind a way as one can shrug their shoulders.
(He simply sighs, as he grabs something from his bag) ....sorry for wasting ya time mate, have this (He says as he tosses both of them, what looks like a normal herb...but very light blue) ...that's all I have right now
Gou returns to whispering. "I recommend you wait til Gramps takes a look at that before you go and do anything with it..." He flashes Rep a sympathetic gaze. "Don't worry about it, pal. Knowin' this place, there's a forge or whatever you're lookin' for out there somewhere!"
Hehe...alright then, also, if ya don't know, those are sleep herbs...can daze you out to high heaven (He laughs a small bit) Haha...I'm horrible at jokes...anyways. See ya mates (With that, he simply walks out, with loud clanking of course)
Oh! Wait! Running up to him before he leaves, Yumina hands him a business card for "Star's Shrine and Forge" Someone gave that to me, but you need it more. She then returns to Gou Ok. I think I'm ready now.
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
A rush of air, and the green-haired boy returns, holding onto a flower as he enters. "Whew, found this thing... That was a detour."
Gou grins from ear to ear, finally. "Less anticipation more showing the thing!" Gou rips off the tarp to reveal a half built motorcycle with some practically futuristic parts. It's the color of the metal it's made of which is to say black, as paint has not yet been applied. A wheel is missing, but other than that it seems almost ready for operation. "Well? This is my pride and joy! My very own Ride Macher Mk II. The Mark Two means nothing as this is quite literally a downgrade, but hey at least I've gotten so many parts that it's able to function!"
Wooow..... Yumina looks it over in awe, then bounces up with a salute Ok! Waddya need me to do? I'm ready!
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
Noticing the arrival of the green haired boy, he'd motion for Yumina to look at what he had brought in. "THAT'S what you're gonna help me with! We're gonna paint this bad boy!" Gou makes a wave at Shaymin, and goes to fetch the paint.
Ok! She trots after Gou, picking up one of the paint cans and carrying it back to the cycle, stopping to wave at Shaymin Do you have an idea what you want it to look like?
(edited by Yu-M1N4)
Shaymin doesn't want to miss this! Plus, he's never seen a motorcycle before. He plops down cross-legged on the floor to watch until further notice.
Gou fetches a picture from his jacket pocket. "Of course I do, I want it to look like the bike I fell in love with years ago!" Gou hands the picture over to Yumina. The photo features a predominantly white bike, with two red stripes running down the center. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kamenrider/images/e/e2/Ride_Macher.png/revision/latest?cb=20160813081152
Yumina looks carefully a the photo Let's see.... Mostly white.... Stripes of Dark blue... light blue.... And... pink?
Gou shakes his head in disapproval. "That's just the lighting. It's red. Or you might be talking about the chrome. Either way, there's no pink on my bike."
Oh! Sorry.... That.... She looks at the picture again Red, white, and.... that is blue though, right? Not green? Two different shades of blue? She compares the picture to the cans I'm pretty sure that's blue.....
Gou sighs again. "That's blue yeah, but it's plastic. Plastic on the headlights and tail lights. We don't paint that."
She looks disappointed in herself as she glares at the picture ........ red and white then.... Red and white..... Ok! I got it. She chippers back up quickly, giving a determined look at the bike Just match the color of the photo with the color of the buckets! Right? White and Pin- Red. Got it!
Gou gets the exterior frame of the bike, and sets it on a white tarp. "Welp! Let's get paintin'!" Gou offers a pair of goggles and a face mask to Yumina, and dons his own. Gou mixes the paint into a spray mechanism. He grabs a hose and begins to apply white to the exterior. He motions for Yumina to do the same.
Right! Yumina places the goggles on her own face and mimics Gou's actions as she begins spraying the opposite side, being very careful not to accidentally spray the plastic parts Sorry for being difficult....
Gou finishes his side, and begins placing covering on his side save for the spot for his red stripe. "I'm all good over here!" Gou gets a separate hose, and begins to spray red between the coat, allowing him to finish his side completely.
Almost....... there...... Yumina slowly finishes her white, again, following Gou's actions as she paints the red stripe on her side This is a lot different than putting paint on wood......
Gou claps his gloved hands together indicating his completion. "What'd you expect? Wood isn't the body of a motorcycle, at least I sure as hell hope it isn't!" Gou patiently waits for Yumina to finish.
She finishes a little after Hope I didn't mess anything up.... Cleaning after herself, she stands up Dad is a carpenter, so I'm used to painting wood..... Among other things.... So. We wait for it to dry now?
Gou nods, clearly satisfied with Yumina's work. "Yep, now I'll kick back and get some shuteye. You're welcome to rest on the couch in the back, but I'm keepin' my bed!" Gou removes his mask and goggles, and he goes to sleep on his bed in the back.
Thank you! Yumina bows as he walks off, laying on the couch and closing her eyes to rest CHECKPOINT SET
