Fate's Hand
I would like to start off by saying that, at some point, this thread will have some pretty massive P5 spoilers. If you have intended to finish that game and for some reason or another haven't gotten around to watching or playing, then I'd suggest moving on. With my due diligence out of the way. It was a rather hot day along the ever-so-peaceful streets of Tokyo. Not quite as crowded as one might come to expect, like everyone was trying to avoid the heat, which rolls off of the pavement in waves, causing slight distortions near the road. As you continue about your business, one would notice a faint sparking, hanging in the air, perhaps a byproduct of the heat, no one around seems to pay it any mind, some may even pass through as though the phenomena were for your eyes alone. It shifts slightly back and forth, before seeming to come closer.
A man with slick black hair that was styled in a formal fashion would be walking around as he noticed this strange phenomenon in the air. He wore a blue coat that one might associate with a guard at a palace or a general of sorts but all things considered the coat didn't seem to stick out too much when compared with the sword he seemed to carry at his side. Roland would consider the sparks for a moment as if trying to read whether they had some specific pattern. As he noticed them drawing closer he would remain still. He wasn't about to draw too much attention to himself even if the streets weren't quite as crowded today. "Some kind of magic? So, that means magic might exist here too. This is a pretty strange place so far but what kind of magic would these strange sparks even be?"
A woman in a white dress wanders into the area, she'd look around curiously for a moment... Upon seeing some sparking that people ignore in the air, she'd sigh to herself and walk over to it. Examing the thing for signs of magic, or perhaps some odd form of tech? Of course, she'd then note that she's not the only one here... And my what an odd outfit, almost like something from back home? Not the right colors for Lambent forces though, and she doubts he's from home really. Either way, she'd look at the man and clear her throat. "So, I assume you noticed it too then? Judging by how intently you happen to stare at that spot I'm assuming it's the sparks... Unless you just happen to really enjoy this one spot, which seems unlikely."
It was hard to deny, but recently stuff has been getting to him. Luckily it was nothing but everyday life events, and nothing too traumatic or even out of the normal, as he had feared the moment he found himself in a weird version of the usual Tokyo. Everything was being...calm now, however, he didn't hear about any fight or sudden, terrifying monster wreaking havoc for the general populace. "It's nice though, having a day when nothing at all happens." It was then that he realized what was in front of his eyes. "...and then the opposite happened." Like little kid who just found his new favorite toy, or a dog that finally got some food after a week or two, he slowly approached this bizarre phenomena. What could it be? He had some vague ideas but nothing seemed to make sense. Would he go through it? Would it burn him? Will it kill him? That thought made his already moving feet stop. That would be inconvenient. And so...Kazuo stayed close to the walls of the concrete jungle, and waited for anything to change.
Drenched in sweat, Owain walks down the sidewalk carrying a large paper bag. A few items stick out of the top, and they make it clear he was out grocery shopping. Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he notices the sparkling in the air. "That's not normal... I walk this route every day, but this hasn't happened before. Maybe someone's doing something..?" Owain turns his head skyward, up into the buildings around him, trying to see if someone from higher up could be sending down the sparkles, then noticing that they seemed to be drawing closer. "Perhaps this is more supernatural than I first thought. Is it harmful?" Owain shifts the bag over to being held in just his left arm, and reaches out to the sparkles with his right.
The sparks always show up towards the top right, then bottom left, then bottom right, and finally top left of an area, forming a sort of rectangle between them. Its rather irregular, making it difficult to discern more of a pattern than that. Hilda would feel a form of magic quite familiar to her, that of time within the sparks, and they almost seem to leap back upon noticing her. The sparks make a sudden crackling sound, like some attempt to speak, before approaching her and Roland again, stopping just a few steps away. In some desperate attempt the sparks change their pattern, starting closer to the pair and slowly getting further, as though trying to lead them closer. His own set of sparks draw closer to Kazuo, shifting up and down as though observing him. They stop a few steps out, either unable or unwilling to get any closer, and make a similar beckoning attempt, altering their pattern to spark first close, then steadily further away from him, sparking four times total before repeating. Owain reaches out to touch one of the sparks, though Owain doesn't feel much of anything, the sparks seem to take this as some sort of consent, the other three sparks take this chance to surround, and touch Owain. After a brief flash of light, he would find himself in a large, empty room once more, a white-dressed woman, Constantium, observing a large, rotating set of gears while her black-dressed sister, Vicis, claps her hands. Vicis: Ohhh, nice one Exava. I was hoping you'd find the dumb one again. You have no idea how hard it is to find good help these days. The four sparks drift away from Owain, satisfied to leave them be for now
Roland would look back to Hilda before noticing her odd outfit. She almost looked like a queen of some kind but it would be rather strange to find a queen roaming about freely. Regardless he believed he didn't have any need to change his disposition. He himself was a man of importance as well, after all. "Well, this is quite a nice spot and on a hot day like today, I've got to find some way to take my mind off the heat. Though those sparks definitely also grab my interest. Better safe than sorry especially in my line of work." Roland would approach the sparks before attempting to step through whatever rectangular shape they formed in the air. He thought perhaps it might be a gateway of some sort.
After regaining his senses, Owain chuckles as he finds himself in a familiar room, and before 2 familiar women. "Ah, the fair finger of fate has brought us together once more. Or, perhaps, you called me here yourselves? Ah, that must be it, as you did before. Do you require my dark powers once again?" He smirks, putting his right hand over his face. "Of course, the strength that runs through my blood is truly powerful, proven by how ones such as yourselves have need of it. Not that I needed this calling to know that, but it's much appreciated."
"Don't tell me, are you trying to communicate with me somehow?" Kazuo covers his face with the palm of his hand and shakes his head at his own question. Of course he couldn't tell him, it seemed unable to do so. Despite this, he tried to figure out what this all meant. It was clear that it wanted him to get closer, perhaps the sparks couldn't for themselves or they were intimidated by him. He didn't think this was the case, and was curious enough to try and reach out ot them "You got me, I'll play with you."
"Hmm... Yes quite so, it is a rather nice place, isn't it? And for some reason, those sparks appear to have a connection to time, quite curious I must say." The woman hmms to herself and walks forward, shrugging before touching one of the sparks with only a bit of hesitation. Part of her is concerned she'd blow up or something... But she's not going to worry about it too much. The likeness to her own magic gives her a feeling she won't die.
Vicis: Well of course, you're one of my favorites after all, and you were such a big he.... Vicis chuckles, beginning to walk towards Owain only to be stopped by Constantium's glare. Constantium: He didn't even do anything last time. *sigh* Well, at least you don't bring another one of those time.... Roland steps into the middle of his set of sparks, which takes it as permission to do their thing, they rapidly cling to his sides, almost undetectable, as they neither burn nor have any apparent weight, and with a brief flash of light, he finds himself in the large, white room with Owain and the two sisters. Similarly, Kazuo reaches out to his own sparks, they almost seem.. Confused, pausing for a moment before taking their chance to bring him to the same white room as well. Finally, the sparks initially recoil from Hilda's presence, before looking her over once more and deciding to bring her along for the ride anyways. The sparks cling to her sides, and in a sudden flash of light, the world around her is gone, replaced with what seems like an endless expanse of white. Perhaps in a show of distain, she doesn't get softly placed on her feet like the others, instead simply materializing in the air, face down, a few feet up. All of this happens before Constantium gets the chance to finish her sentence, the white-dressed woman steps away from whatever she was doing at the gears to approach Vicis. Constantium: Of course you did, why am I not surprised? Vicis: To be fair, I confused her with the helpful little girl from last time. Constantium: I.... How? Constantium just stares at Vicis for a few awkward seconds, apparently failing to give their guests more appropriate amounts of attention. After a short moment, Vicis clears her throat and steps to her sister's side Vicis: Ok, so, I see we have some new faces. This is fine. Sorry about the rough handling miss Hilda, Nexus there has a bit of a grudge against time-manipulators. I mean, more than the others. Anyways, I hope our assistants treated you well, last time I tried just abducting people and they complained.
Roland would look around surprised for a moment. Of course, his surprise was only shown by his expression as he still seemed calm otherwise. He would take a look around the area before approaching Constantium. "Well, you seem to be the one in charge here so may I ask what exactly is going on? From the sound of it, it would seem we're not the first ones brought here. So why go to all this trouble to bring people here anyway? I'm guessing you need them for something." A place like this almost made him nostalgic. It reminded him of Broadleaf's Treehouse with its many dials and gears. He was taken back to that time for a moment remembering the rogue machines that he and his friends had fought before. Coming back to reality he'd simply cross his arms waiting for an answer. He showed no signs of impatience. If anything his expression was unusually composed given the odd circumstances.
Rather than simply crashing to the ground, the woman would vanish into a dark purple portal before appearing standing on her feet with a smirk on her face. She'd then address Vicis in a formal tone, speaking almost like a royal of some sort. "Confused me for someone else... Hmm, well that's no issue in the grand scheme of things. I am Hilda, Witch of Time but you seem to already be aware of that. Now, I presume you would not bother calling us here were it not for some reason, and something about your power tells me this isn't about some petty task." There's a dead serious look on her face as she glances around the room... The man who seems almost royal, someone with white hair she almost feels she knows, and a rather loud blonde she's got no clue on. What a group. "At any rate, much like my new associate, I'm rather curious what our goal here is... People don't get ripped through space and time for no good reason after all."
Owain sheepishly laughs as the comment of his previous performance, before sighing. "If... I speak with seriousness for only a moment, I'd like to say that I'm... really not much of a people person. Point my blade at someone and I'll cut them down, give a job and I'll do it, but working with people is... difficult. But I'll still do my best." He coughs, before returning to his usual upbeat self. "Well, my mistresses, what task have you brought to us today? The defeat of an evil time-traveling evildooer? The completion of a historical ritual doomed to fail? Preventing the resurrection of a demon god? Name your request!"
Kazuo would just look around in amazement, his mouth was open in surprise and even managed to let out a chuckle. He would then look forward and stay behind the rest of the group of "weirdos", as he would refer to them, around him. This situation was already strange as it currently was, he didn't need to interact with even more magical people. Luckily, one on the group was already making questions, this made things easier for him, he just observed, up until one term caught his attention. "Hold on, what do you mean by time-manipulators? Such people exist in this world as well? More importantly...WHAT are you?" He made his question in a generally silly tone as he pointed at the group of three that had an interdimensional vibe.
Constantium: See? Its pretty obvious who's boss around here after making a remark towards Vicis, Constantium grins and turns their attention back to Roland, twisting her long hair between her fingers as she talks Constantium: Well, as you might have noticed from our subordinates'.... Hesitance, we're technically not able to do much with you mortals. Which would be fine if the timestream wasn't being messed with by something beyond our detection. For now, we're using you mortals to sort of... Change it back to the correct path so we don't have to erase them. Much better for everyone this way really. Constantium and Vicis both look up at Kazuo's sudden question. Vicis claps, almost as though she were prepared for something like this, small, pointed pieces of metal emerge from the clockwork mess and form an arc over her and Constantium. Her sister, on the other hand, simply sighs and shakes her head, letting the moment happens Vicis: I'm glad you asked, my name is Vicis, a change or alteration. My sister and I are time gods, I have domain over chance and shifts, bumping time along as is needed. Vicis bows, prompting Constantium to give her bit. Constantium: And my name is Constantium, consistency or stability. I view the timestream and keep everything along their set and proper path. Of course, it used to be just us, but then this whole "Nexus" business got us mixed up with a few other beings. Vicis stands up out of her bow, shaking her head to get a few stray strands of hair out of their way Vicis: Chronos is SUCH a killjoy Constantium: You deserved every speech you got. Anyways, onto the other question. You currently share a time stream with at least... Two manipulators. Two and a half if you count the one who comes and goes As time is our domain, naturally we would know who they are... Unless they had some way to hide it. Satisfied with their own answers if nothing else, Vicis dismisses the pointed metal pieces by clapping before smiling and turning to Owain Vicis: If it makes you happy, there is a god involved, though you won't be fighting it yourselves of course. This one might come a bit more.... Sudden than last time, but at least there won't be a long wait.
The talk of gods and time left Roland feeling like perhaps he's entered something a little more complicated than his usual adventure but he's already realized at this point that he can't back down with what he's heard. "So, essentially you're sending people to deal with issues that affect people. I like it, I'm always one to deal with problems head first and I don't mean just bashing my head into it either. Not too sure about all this God and time related business though I think I've met a few beings that are pretty close to gods. They were at least worshipped by the people they protected. God is more a title than anything after all. Anyway, back to the issue at hand, as I said before I'd be happy to give a hand but I have to ask just as a precaution exactly what it is I should prepare for, if you know that is. I'd also have to ask if you have any equipment that might be useful for solving this issue. Anything at all could help but if not then I'll just have to rely on what little tools I have on hand."
"A disappointment. And a shame as well, bringing the total of gods slain by the hands of my dark power would surely be joyous!" Owain laughs with his best attempt to be sinister, putting his hand over his face as always. "Well, I'm ready to move out at your command."
Hilda would nod along with Roland, she doesn't have much to add beyond what he said... Save one thing, a question of her personal interest. "As my associate in blue said, any help or info you can offer would be much obliged. That being said, I'll help as well regardless... And one more thing, what's this about other time mages?"
Kazuo nods as the two introduce themselves. They were actual agents of time, right there, in front of him. In another time, he would be very sceptical regarding these affirmations, but he knew better, or at least assumed he did. Right now, no other piece of information seemed more relevant, not even why they were there. With a new found interest and the one he already had mutiplied by 3, he took a few steps forward, in such a way he was closer to the group of weirdos. He had to blend in, after all, he wasn't exactly normal anyways. "Vicis and Constantium, you two seem to carry a heavy burden, huh?" Kazuo rubs the back of his head and laughs loudly at his own attempt at a joke. And, putting his left hand inside of the pockets of his coat, he keeps his goofy act. "But there is something I don't get, Vicis, what do you mean by chance? Do you literally oversee causality or am I just confused? How does it work?" He smiles at her with a generally carefree attitude, trying not to risk sounding too rude or even pushy. "You don't have to answer, I just got a bit curious~"
Vicis glances over to Constantium, then to Roland, back to Constantium, the woman in white shakes her head before Vicis finally answers Roland's question Vicis: I wouldn't worry about that. There shouldn't be much of a problem... Though I guess an umbrella might be a good thing to have. As Vicis answers Roland's question, consantium sighs and glances over to Hilda Constantium: More specifically, there is one fourteen-year-old who can stop time, don't ask my sister about her unless you're up for a solid five minutes of her blabbing about the child, and a non-human who occasionally appears with a train. He's really nice. Vicis turns back to face Kazuo. Well, abilities such as theirs might be hard to understand, but there's no reason not to try answering, even if she doesn't quite get the joke Vicis: Its actually not that hard, quite a bit of fun for me. I provide humans with.... Branching points so to speak. Lets say there was simply one timeline, then all choices would be entirely predetermined and there would be no variation. Quite boring if you ask me. So I provide little... Nudges to the timeline in order to change and bring variety to them. Can be something small, like what you had for breakfast this morning, to something large like the outcome of a battle. Constantium glances over to Vicis before clearing her throat, the blonde did have a point after all Constantium: Anyways, its about time for you to get going. You can ask more questions when you return. You know what that means Vicis. Vicis: Yes, right. Nexus, Exava, Neva, Sephira, its time to send our guests to do their jobs. Should be easy enough. I'll warn you though, its a rather sudden change The four sparking lights from earlier seem to form in mid-air once more, quickly surrounding the group and, without bothering to wait for confirmation, sending them to the streets of Tokyo. Or at least, what could be vaguely identified as the streets, a massive tower of what almost looks like bone has been raised in the middle of the city, tainting the sky a blood red with its presence. Several supporting pillars stretch into the area, breaking up the ground as they strike it. There are many people out and about, panicking as an almost sulfurous, burning rain falls. None of them seem to have noticed the group yet, for better or for worse. As they watch, one of the people seem to dissipate into a black mist, only to vanish in the wind
Roland would almost try to interject once more before the light washes over him bringing him to the streets of Tokyo. He'd be somewhat unnerved by his surroundings as they reminded him of events that still scarred his mind. His expression would become tense before he calms himself once more. He had to remind himself that these were past events and he was only here to fix what was broken. However, if this was the past then this world was truly stranger than he had ever imagined. It was almost like some crazy mix of the Tokyo he knew and the land of Revenant that he had come to know. Roland began to look around the area for anything else that might've been out of place. If he failed to notice anything else then he'd simply walk over to the bone tower to investigate it further.
OOC: Can't remember if physical things follow through with the person so for the sake of it I'm assuming Owain has the groceries still. Owain stares in horror at the sight before him. It... almost reminds him of home. The destruction, the panic instilled in every person. It all came rushing back. Owain immediately runs to the black mist, reaching out, as if trying to save someone close to him. But all he does is scatter the particles away from one another with his hand. "I-I'm sorry, mother..." He picks himself back up, having dropped to his knees. He then rejoins the others, kneeling in order to pick up bag of groceries he carelessly tossed aside. "Apologies for my... outburst. Let's find our target. They've got to be close." Owain then begins to look around, either for a path forward or for a person of interest.
Kazuo didn't mind the sudden change much, he was almost used to that by now. Even then, he looked up at the tower, wondering what its deal was, and how much it reminded him of his own home, at least when it came to history books. He would then smirk and his eyes would sharpen as he looks at the palm of his right hand. "So, chance...huh? That is beyond your grasp, it would be nice to have that." He said to himself. He then looked at the other people in the group before silently moving towards the tower, finding himself unable to take Vicis off of his mind.
OOC: can I still join?
A black and red bladed scythe appears in her hands, white handle gleaming as the woman looks around with a wary eye. "Stay on guard everyone, this place screams of things far worse than that which I've seen in "Tokyo" up to now. I can't be sure, but I'd wager we're on the scene of what might well be the world's end." Hilda would then examine the area more closely for a moment, to be exact she'd search for a high building and after finding one teleport herself straight onto the roof, gazing down at the cit below and aiming to find something important looking from her higher vantage.
OOC: Yes, you would still have your things with you, including the groceries. I'm sure they'll be fiiiiine. As for Naoya, afraid its a bit late, I'll probably end up needing to put this on pause one or two more posts in and finishing up maybe Thursday or next Monday night. IC: Its hard to tell what is in place when the ground is cracked and shattered by varying pillars and shards of rocks littering the ground. However, aside from the obvious atmospheric changes, the malfunctioning of all nearby electronic equipment, most notably the large TV screens such streets are known for, in fact this area seems rather empty, and so, Roland walks down the street, passing by a few stones to get closer to the tower, where a small crowd seems to be gathering Kazuo makes a beeline for the tower immediately, approaching the crowd, the few who aren't outright panicking are simply looking up into the sky, as though watching some sort of show. in addition to several open streets leading all sorts of directions, in his case the important ones leading towards the tower, Owain might notice someone wearing a simple black jacket, hood up to hide most of his face, calmly walking around. He wouldn't seem too out of place if it weren't for the fact he's taking this all incredibly well. Perhaps he's simply blind? Hilda takes to the rooftops, separating her from the others. From this vantage point, she notices a small crowd gathering in an area close to the tower, looking upwards in awe as a loud voice rings out through the area... ???: Humans are naught but clumps of desire. Logic dictates that a world filled with them will decline. The sin of rebelling against a god is severe. As punishment, you shall taste pain everlasting. Roland, Hilda, and Kazuo, assuming they look up towards the voice, would find a massive figure floating in the air near the tower. The distant shape almost seems mechanical, with a pair of large, red wings coming over smaller, more angelic white ones, though they don't seem to serve any useful purpose. The figure's attention seems to be focused on the top of the tower, likely the rebels it was referring to.
Roland would look up with a smirk. He was guessing this was the being referred to as God. Its appearance almost reminded him of the powerful being from Revenant that were referred to as Kingmakers but he had the feeling this being was less interested in making a contract with a king and more so in being the king itself. "So, this is what God is like. I have to say, it's a little underwhelming compared to what I imagined. Well, I've never really been a fan of bullying to get your way and I think my object is up there anyway so..." Roland would point his hand towards the ground and begin to concentrate. There would be a moment of buildup as energy began clustering into his hand. [Static Wall!] After reaching its peak he would all at once release the energy in a cluster of sheer force. The force would most likely obliterate the ground beneath him while allowing him to launch himself up into the air to try and get further up onto the tower.
"Uh, excuse me, hood guy?" Owain approaches the hooded man cautiously, calling out to him from a short distance away. "You seem to be... reasonably sane with all that's going on right now. Would you happen to know what exactly is going on right now? We are in Tokyo, aren't we? So what's up with the tower and the... destruction."
Kazuo's eyes are open wide with amazement once more, this truly was an interesting day, it's not usual for him to be so surprised every single time. What was that thing? What was its purpose? He needed to know, and now. He felt his heart rush and beat like crazy, his heart was pumping blood all around his body at incredible speeds, and so, the young man rushed towards the tower, trying to find something, anything that would make it possible for him to get to the top of the tower. "Using the Imaginary would also be risky, that mechanical archangel might just attack me on sight." Kazuo doesn't even botter to hide his curiosity and interest in this. The world might be crumbling down around him, but he didn't exactly have time to stop and process everything. That would, also, be pointless.
The woman would begin warping, a seething rage boiling up inside her as she aims to get closer to the source of the voice. Hoping to move from roof to roof before closing the last of the space with a warp onto the tower's top. "A god huh... If there's one thing that gets my blood boiling its gods trying to set the course of humankind, I'm not about to just sit around as this happens!" Assuming she was able to reach the tower, the mechanical being would find a glowing orb of dark purple energy rushing toward it, Hilda snarling in rage as she fires off the spell. If it struck the energy would explode and begin trying to break down her foe, not that it should do much. If she couldn't reach, however, the woman would simply curse and keep searching for a way upward.
Fortunately for Roland, few people are around to notice him blasting the ground beneath him in order to launch into the air, unfortunately it seems the tower is easily a fifty stories tall, so he doesn't manage to get that high up before he lands on a nearby pillar, maybe a third of the way there. The hooded man doesn't take the time to look at Owain, continuing on his way towards the tower. His voice is unnaturally deep, almost as though its being purposefully hidden. hooded man: The Phantom Thieves are up there, "rebelling against a god", just as they were supposed to. A cruel irony, but I guess none of that means anything to you. Soon, the figure makes it to the crowd, and stands at the edge of the group as though awaiting something Similar to Roland's problem, Hilda would be surprised to find how large the tower is, she might be able to make it there in one or two more warps, if she was so determined. Kazuo would find no convenient way of ascent, the easiest probably being a long climb up one of the bone pillars, but even then the highest one stops a few floors down from the top. As if in response to the god, another voice can suddenly be heard ringing through the speakers, its rather high pitched, almost like a child's voice. higher voice: ... and we'll definitely.. Definitely........ Take the World! The crowd looks around for the voice's source, in some amount of confusion, most of the people begin muttering among themselves, as the only one still in the crowd Kazuo can figure out a few phrases, the most commonly repeated one being "Phantom Thieves", amidst general talks of concern and hopelessness.
Roland would take a breath as he lands on the pillar. Even using Static Wall once was a massive effort on his part. At best he could use it one more time before his magical energy needed to recharge but he begins to brace himself as he points his hand to the ground once more. "Alright, let's try to at least get in a good position to climb up the rest of the way then." [Static Wall!] He'd once again unleash the massive force into the pillar beneath him trying to get further up the tower in an attempt to reach a place that might be easier to climb from.
Owain picks up the pace, eventually walking alongside the man. "So, whats it to you? I've heard a few things of these Phantom Thieves, and if all is going according to plan as you say..." Owain turns his head away from the man, trying to keep his voice from being heard. "... Then why are we here..? He then turns his head back towards the tower, watching as they approach it.
The woman is in fact so determined, and would casually keep warping as she spins her scythe around in her hands. A smile crossing her face as she hears the other voice, the words are a bit odd... But the meaning causes her to shout back. Vanishing into a portal and appearing higher once more as she does so. "I don't know about taking anything! But I do know that mankind's fate is for us to make! I won't allow any gods or angels to kill people... My name is Hilda, Witch of Time, and I'll stand against Gods without a second thought!" She'd make the second warp, aiming to get as high as possible as a fire burns in her eyes. Scythe gleaming as she points it toward the so-called "God", with a look befitting the title Witch of Destruction. upon her face.
"Wait...Phantom Thieves!? What the hell does this have to do with those guys!?" Those last year rejects were at it again, somehow. Being absolutely honest, he despised the entire "Phantom Thieve" craze that hit the entire world from one moment to another, only for it to completely disappear as quick as it began. He would close his eyes and clench his fists. "Alright, it's on, you mildy annoying weirdos." A void vortex would appear above Kazuo, who is now covered in a white aura, and 4 swords of different shapes and sizes would drop and thrust themselves into the concrete. "Imaginary 3.0: Executioner!" After this, he would press his left hand on the ground, making red patterns appear on the ground, making the shape of a massive hawk. "Imaginary 2.0: Deep Transmigration...!" His right arm would then morph into another one, the skin wasn't as pale and it was covered by a silver armor. It then begins to vibrate as he prepares to punch the ground. "Imaginary 4.0: Do Re Might!!" The punch would make the area surrounding him shake due to the vibrations, but they would stop and, instead, concentrate inside of the patterns on the ground, slowly making the swords change shape. "I call upon your name, Bearer of the Mark. Manifest anger, confront it, for it is your duty!" The sword in the back would take the shape of a tail, long and sharp. The blades to the right and left would turn into very irregular wings, while the one on the front would change into a mask with a razorsharp beak. The main body, instead, was made out of the surrounding concrente, furthermore, not only did the beast lack eyes, but its entire body was also covered by a strange aura, making its image blurry to anyone else. "2.34 - Deep Doremi Hawk!" Letting out a loud, lion-like roar. It took off into the sky with Kazuo on its back. He didn't want to lose any more time. OOC: Sorry got a bit busy
The man briefly glances back, giving Owain a glance of a white mask on his face, though Owain likely wouldn't recognize it, for OOC convenience he seems to be wearing one of those smiling, porcelain "Anonymous" masks, stealing a single view of Owain himself, its obvious the other person doesn't really belong either. The man then looks up into the sky hooded man: I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Looks like some of your companions are going to mess it up anyways. But remember, just because it was "supposed to be" doesn't make it good. I'm sure you've been wronged before, does knowing "its just fate" make that any better? Good news is that Roland's second explosion propels him further than the first, blasting the man one or two floors away from the top of the tower. Bad news is that it also shatters the pillar he was on, sending it crumbling into the street below. Hilda emerges at the top of the tower, finding a group of teenagers, each wearing a mask of some sort, one wearing a pair of high-tech goggles, another a more ceremonial-looking kitsune mask, a blonde teen with a simple skull-shaped mask, one brown-haired girl wears a long scarf, her eyes concealed by what seems to be almost one solid chunk of metal, another girl wears a musketeer-style cap, complete with feathers, one more wears a skin-tight red suit, accented with a red, cat-like mask covering the top half of her face, and finally, closest to the "god" is another teenager with a long, dark coat whose mask is primarily white with black accents, all of the teenagers are on the ground as the god gloats, with only a small, humanoid... Cat-thing, standing up to him. At least they were, before Hilda's entrance draws the eyes of everyone's presence, including the god's. ???: Another fool seeks to stand against me? Who you are and where you come from are irrelevant. Soon you too shall share their punishment. Kazuo takes to the skies, making far faster progress than anyone else had before, as he goes up he'd find Roland hanging out near the top, might be nice to help him out, be a pal. either way he'd end up at the top fairly soon, so you can go ahead and make an action that way Back on the ground near Owain and the hooded man, A teenager with short black hair, wearing a short-sleeved white t-shirt suddenly pumps his fist in the air, shouting as though hoping those at top could hear him. teenager: Take it down Phantom Thieves!!! The only immediate response he gets is from a few members of the crowd staring at him, dumbfounded. The teen stares back, in some ways they seem just as confused or unsure teenager: come on! Why do you think they..... his speech is interrupted by the piece of Roland's pillar striking the ground nearby, narrowly missing anyone as the group scatters, glancing upwards and catching sight of Kazuo's own transformation. Owain's the only one who can hear them anymore random person: The hell is this? Random 2: I... I knew this was like a nightmare... Random 3: I hope I wake up soon Random 4: T... Not exactly how I thought it'd end.....
Roland being unaware of the disruption he caused would continue focusing on reaching the top of the tower. He'd exercise caution going forward as he didn't want his presence to be immediately known. He'd continue climbing up while being careful not to alert "god". "You think they could've settled for a shorter tower. Not even sure what the point of making a tower was if they didn't want anyone up here either."
"I understand how it feels to want to change fate. In fact, myself and my friends, we did such a thing. We change the fate of our world. But that was all to save the realm from a future we knew was to come to ruin. In this case, well, from the stories I've heard, I'm fairly certain these Phantom Thieves saved their realm, did they not?" Owain sighs, looking over at the teen shouting in support for the Phantom Thieves. "To be honest, not only do I doubt you could give me evidence to show their guilt in causing a poorer future, I probably wouldn't listen to you anyways. I've been given a task, and I'm here to see it through."
The woman would stare over at the god for a moment, smirking at her foe like a cat who just caught a mouse. "Sure sure, you'll kill all who oppose and end the world, blah blah... I've heard it before now, you aren't the first god I've met that tried to decide man's fate, nor do I think you'll be the last. But even so..." Hilda waves her left hand in the air, taking it off the scythe as magical energy begins to flow from herself into a young man with a white mask and black long coat. The boy would find himself able to move far more quickly than usual, for a short few moments. With that, she'd begin shouting out at the top of her lungs, hoping to be heard by those below. [Time Compress] "I'm not the only one who will stand against you now am I? One person... Even a handful, that won't make a difference it's true. But when humans stand together, when people truly rise up and fight for themselves! Then they can win! Do you people want to be ruled by some being that claims to be God? Or do you want to stand up and take your freedom!? Personally, I'd prefer to try, win or lose... Its better than sitting down and waiting to die! So stand up, and take your lives back dammit!"
Kazuo takes notice of Roland struggling to get to the top, he realized this moments before, enough for him to react and offer a helping hand, but he already had plans, and another person from the place he would be wouldn't be convenient. And so, Kazuo would simply wave at Roland without turning around as his Deep Doremi Hawk makes it to the top. After this, the metallical Hawk would stay above the top of the tower, just floating as it, for some reason, it didn't need to flap it's wings to stay in place. "So this is it, they must be the real deal. They had to be a group of teenagers." From his position, he would look down on anyone else at the tower. He never even thought he would get to see the Phantom Thieves, but now that his curiosity was satiated, he turned his attention to the gigantic archangel. "Is that thing really an archangel, though? Could it be man-made? Perhaps..." Without much of a care, Hawk would fly closer to the mechanical archangel, enough for him to be right up on its face. Kazuo would silently smile at the colossal machine with both arms crossed. "I'm Kazuo, who are you?" Hawk's shape is still blurry, making it virtually impossible to exactly tell what it is doing or might do, all thanks to its interference aura. However, it was prepared to evade any kind of unwanted violence.
OOC: It's getting really late for me, so I've really got to sleep. I... guess Owain is on auto-pilot now. Later.
OOC: No actually, this is a good point to stop until Monday anyways. I'll post the update a little after 10 PM CST, I think a little sleep would do everyone some good
OOC: I can't say I disagree with that honestly, and Monday is fine to start again here. Won't be at work so I shall appear.
OOC: Yeah, I'll show up as well since I don't need to wake up early on tuesday
Down on the ground, the man with a dark coat simply turns away from Owain and sighs Coat guy: In all honesty, I look up to thieves. Or used to anyways. Its an unfortunate side-effect, but if one wishes to eliminate a corrupt system, it must be rid of completely. Nothing else is acceptable. If I could avoid hurting anyone, I'd do it. But that's not quite how life works. The figure turns to a nearby wall and begins walking towards it, giving one last remark Coat guy: To that extent, I'd suggest you stop trying to interfere. Otherwise our next meeting won't be as pleasant. If Owain does nothing to stop him, the man would simply walk into the wall and disappear, walking through it as though it didn't exist. Back atop the tower, Roland would finally make it in time to witness the chaos going on, from the group of kids struggling to stand, to two of the people he had arrived with doing their own thing. The people down below can barely hear any of what Hilda says. What they hear much more clearly, is the sound of a golden-plated gun swinging out from behind the god's back, firing a single massive round, roughly half as large as Hilda, perhaps in hopes of shutting her up "God": Another would-be rebel? As I've said before, the punishment for attempting to stop a god is nothing less than eternal torment. If you seek to aid these criminals, then you shall share their fate. Three more golden items emerge from behind the being, a bell, a book, and a sword, each at the end of a long, bending golden rod. The four items go closer to the being, and begin channeling a dark energy into a ball in front of him. While charging, the being takes the time to answer Kazuo, the young man taking up much of its vision. Yaldabaoth: I am Yaldabaoth, god of control, here to save humanity from themselves. You are unpredictable, and therefore dangerous. However, if you back down now, then I will be sure to bring you salvation as well as the others. But know that this tower is never meant to be climbed. Any attempts by man to ascend to the level of the heavens shall be punished most severely. The teen in the long, black coat and white mask slowly gets to his feet while the other teenagers watch him, he puts one hand on his mask, ready to attempt one final stand if nothing else. Back on the ground, a few of the people look up in an attempt to discern Hilda's voice better, only to hear the unmistakable sound of a gunshot, followed by the being's words drowning the rest of her speech out. Desperate, the teen in a white t-shirt tries to get everyone else's attention white-shirt:D... You can't just lie down and take it. Isn't that what this whole year was about? We can change the world, all we have to do is.... A taller man in a business suit interrupts the teenager, sighing and shaking his head businessman: You heard it just as well as I did. The Phantom Thieves are dead. There's nothing left to do but give up.
Roland would view the scene with discretion. This was all just a past event still, after all. He would wonder exactly what it was that was wrong here. The only real hint he had received was that their mission was to give someone else the encouragement to fight this "God". It seemed to him however that the individuals before him didn't need any encouragement so who exactly was it that needed help here? On top of that, it seemed Hilda had already gotten directly involved with the situation as well as Kazuo who seemed to wave to Roland on his way up. He wasn't resentful at that fact but it still seemed suspicious to him. It only seemed things would get messier from here so he needed to think fast about this. "This is a tough one...I better keep watching a while longer. Maybe the next course of action will open itself up to me."
The woman just stares up at her foe for now, observing and preparing to evade if needed... Tch, she might need to leave this tower and try to push people into action down there. Something tells her the masses are key, and trying to speak with them up here didn't work out so well. For now, Hilda just points her scythe toward the so-called god and remains at the ready, preparing herself for whatever may come her way. As for Roland, she can tell he's gotten up here by now, but he seems as lost as Hilda herself... "Nothing to do but try and figure this out right? Hopefully, we can get an idea before things go too wrong..."
"Wait." Owain quickly tries to grab the man's shoulder with his left hand as he begins to faze into the wall, trying to keep him from moving farther in. "If you're gonna have a problem with my mission, then we may as well get this over with. I'm in a crummy mood right now, so you'll probably get a better fight out of me now rather than later. Although, later you'll have more of us to deal with most likely. Take your pick." He keeps his right hand on the handle of the sword on his left hip, ready to unsheathe it at a moment's notice as he awaits the response.
"I never met a god until today, not one like you anyways. It's nice to meet you, Yaldabaoth!" Kazuo would smile innocently at the mechanical archangel, perfectly aware of its power and what it could possbily do to him if he doesn't step away quickly. He turns around to try and come up with a plan, something he could use to his advantage. He could hear faint voices of people, at least he did when he was on the floor. However, here at the top, the Phantom Thieves were makign a stand against the control freak. Of course, Kazuo didn't like this a single bit. He would never be on the side of someone trying to seize control. And so, Kazuo and his Hawk backed away fro a few meters before saying anything. "Let's say I was ignorant and that I came here out of sheer curiosity, but swear to follow your guidence from now on now that I'm aware of my sins. I will now go down the tower and not comeback, I want to live." Kazuo rubs the back of his head for a moment and makes a silly expression, pointing at his smile with both index fingers. "Oooor, I could help you with the so called rebels~! You just need to give me something, anything that will help me take them down quickly. You won't even need to move a single finger." After this, Kazuo would sit on his knees on top of his Hawk, close his eyes and act as respectfully as he could. "If you truly are god and want to save us...I will listen and obey your words, great father. You just need to make the call, and I will fly up to the moon if that is your desire." He would then clap his hands together. "But please, have mercy on their souls in the afterlife."
The masked figure turns back to Owain, his mask bearing a wide, knowing smile like always masked figure: This place won't be around much longer. I don't plan to stick around for its erasure. Since you refuse to back down, I'll allow you a mere glimpse of what you're up against. Show yourself Qliphoth. Between Owain and the masked man, what at first resembles a black tree rapidly sprouts from the ground, it forces itself between the two, expanding endlessly like some sort of cancerous growth. As it branches out into numberless growths, eyes open from within the points at which the branches connect, staring wordlessly at Owain. The growth would rapidly tear the masked figure from Owain's grasp, before retracting as rapidly as it had formed, leaving no mark that it had ever existed, and no signs of the masked man. Yalbadoath would be somewhat preoccupied with Kazuo, its a somewhat transparent attempt at flattery, as a rat ought to when fearing their end. Fear is something the god can rely upon in some ways. Yet it is still fairly obvious the general idea Yalbadaoth: I have no need to place any power in a servant of mine. All of humanity is to be equal under my rule. And true order can have no exceptions. Humanity sought to be ruled by I, and I alone. All others are unneeded at best. The teen in a long black coat and white mask tears off the mask, a bluish flame surrounding his eyes, drawing the god's attention once more. masked teen: Arsene!! Show him what we think of his rule. A largely humanoid figure emerges into the air behind the teenager, spinning around as its large black wings spread to take flight for one last time. The figure thrusts forth an arm, sending several of its own dark tendrils towards the god's own congregation, aiming to meet the energy and clash Yalbadaoth: So this is your decision? Then be gone with you. Fortunately, Kazuo's position well above the energy keeps him from being struck as Yalbadaoth releases an almost unfathomable amount of energy towards the teenagers, with Hilda and Roland being on the wrong side of the tracks, the force would threaten to overwhelm them as well. Hilda, Roland, Kazuo, and Owain would all notice themselves beginning to flicker, as though their place in this world is no longer stable, as well as a tug trying to force them back to the white room. If they didn't resist it, they would wind up meeting Vicis and Constantium once more in the clockwork room
Owain simply stands there after the masked man makes his exit. He finally relaxes, feeling the tug back to the white room. "Heh, course. Won't be getting a fight today, even when I'm taking it seriously. Oh well. If there's anything more to be done here, I'm sure to be far away from it." Taking a last look up to the top of the tower, Owain places his hand over his face and lowers his stance, giving a more usual grin. "Know this, masked one! Should we ever cross paths again, my dark powers shall arise once more and cut you down where you stand! My sword hand will come to yearn for the moment our blades lock... So don't keep me waiting!" He laughs off his act, shruging to himself, before letting the pull take him.
"Then I guess I will leave this area, if you decide that I should not get anything over the others, then so be it." He would feel weird, however. Opening his eyes, he notices his own flickering image, which was a bit worrying, he had to admit. He didn't exactly understand, but perhaps it meant their mission was failing. Regardless, he tried to will himself to stay in this timeline. But for now, this tower didn't exactly mean anything to him. "I want to survive, so I will leave the tower for now. Since God made it clear that staying up here would mean a very, very bad punishment..." He would make a quick, dismissive wave at everyone under him, only for him and the Hawk to quickly dive down the tower into safety. They would try to reach the ground and just stay there, waiting for anything to happen, for anything he could use. "After all, Hilda was being overly loud. And there was that one weak-looking teen when I transmigrated Hawk with the blades and vibrations. What do you think?" He asked to no one in particular, simply looking at the buildings and the people running around.
Hilda resists... For a moment anyway, to evade the attack she leaps down off the tower without a second thought, falling down through the air as her scythe vanishes. Finally, before hitting the ground the woman vanishes into a dark purple portal and appears simply standing on her feet, looking over at the gathering of people with a flame burning in her eyes. Her voice rings out loudly through the street, and given that she's now near them she might actually be heard. "I don't know what you people are doing here... But you need to stand up and fight! That thing isn't going to make anything better, and it's not unstoppable either! I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd rather die free of something like that than let some mad god rule over me!" She raises a fist into the air, staring around at the people of Tokyo and sighing slightly. She clearly seems disappointed. "You act like there's no hope, and yet people are up there trying to stop that thing as we speak! They need you to believe in them, and yet here you all are cowering and not lifting a finger. So what's it going to be good and reasonable people of Tokyo? Giving up, letting some so-called god rule over you forever? Or will you stand up and fight for your lives! You could try and write me off as some madwoman, just pretend I'm speaking nonsense..." Hilda crosses her arms and smirks at them, an amused tone taking hold in her voice as she turns her back to them and looks up at the "God". "But you've seen a god rise from nowhere and proclaim itself ruler of the world, you've seen me leap off a tower that's who knows how high and live... So, maybe just maybe I know something. There are others up there fighting that thing, but they can't win this if you don't offer them your support!" With one final shout, Hilda would attempt to see if that pull back to the room is still there... If the place doesn't seem to be getting any more stable, she'd just sigh and allow herself to fade back to the time gods without another moment's delay.
Roland would try to hold his stance as the force pushes against him. It would force him to almost close his eyes as he tried to keep one forward and looking ahead. He'd be slowly pushed to the tower's edge before finally regaining his balance. He'd think the situation out, it was clear that this being definitely lives up to the name of God. He would have to help these rebels gain some sort of amazing power if they even wanted a chance to stand up to them but what exactly could he do? Suddenly he would feel the pull of his own existence. It was a familiar feeling in some ways but he knew that at this moment he needed to remain here so he could finish his task. He would try to concentrate for a moment and calm himself down before grounding himself in reality once more. "Not like I could exactly fly off this tower. Looks like I'm in this for the long haul. Well, here goes nothing..." Roland would begin to step forward with his sword drawn and pistol out in his other hand. "Looks like I've found myself stuck on your tower so I think I'll be lending humanity a hand here. The world needs a leader but I don't think a leader like you would suffice."
Remaining near the edge of the tower, Roland is spared most of the blast intended to eradicate the Phantom Thieves. Yalbadaoth's energy easily overwhelms Arsene's small blast, striking the group with one final blast. Once the energy subsides, there's nothing left of them, leaving Yalbadaoth to turn his attention to Roland Yalbadaoth: You still seek to stand against me? Your resilience is impressive, but no matter. Yalbadaoth brandishes all four of his weapons, the gun, the sword, the bell, and the book, aiming the gun at Roland Yalbadaoth: You shall sh..... And then... Suddenly Yalbadaoth freezes, as though stuck in time. Kazuo and Hilda would emerge near the ground, finding a teen with a plain white t-shirt arguing with a businessman teen: So what, you're just going to stand there and take it? businessman: Its better than just ending up dead. of course, Hilda interrupts their petty argument with another of her own speeches. A few people scramble backwards as she appears from seemingly nowhere, giving Kazuo an easy chance to come in unnoticed. Teen: After all the Phantom Thieves have done for you, you'll seriously aban..... And then, suddenly the crowd all stops as though frozen in time itself Accepting the initial pull, Owain returns to the white room, finding the sisters Constantium and Vicis staring into a stone Basin, the white-dressed Constantium swirls the water inside for a moment as the pair converse, apparently unware, or uncaring of Owain's return Constantium: Well that was a bust Vicis: To be fair, we were going to have to delete it anyways, not like its anything lost Constantium: Except that two of them almost died. That would have taken quite a bit of explaining. Vicis: Then its a good thing we watched them, isn't it? Constantium: And wasteful. Vicis: Regardless, now we get to the fun part. I say we let Nexus do the honors Constantium: You always pick her. You do realize that could take months for them, assuming there's even a suitable vessel. We can't waste time with your petty dream romance thing. Exava's far more effective. Vicis: Exava's boring. Constantium: Just do it already. Owain sees one of the sparks from earlier swirl around the pair, before diving straight into the stone basin, apparently going off to the world they were just in. Back on Doomedsville, Roland, Kazuo, and Hilda would all begin to see sparks, much like the ones that picked them up back at home begin traveling across the ground, buildings, spreading from some unknown source. Wherever they go, the place seems to get a little thinner, more transparent, as though it simply ceased to be. Even Yalbadaoth begins to exhibit some signs as it slowly regains an ability to move. Of course, the three would still feel the pull to return themselves to the white room, or if they wish they could observe what happens next
Hilda sighs and just lets herself get pulled back, these people clearly aren't going to listen and do something... What was even the goal here? At any rate, with things frozen like this she doesn't have to worry about Roland's safety further. As for the boy on that stupid bird, she can't be bothered to care overly much. So with that cheery thought in her mind, she'd allow herself to return to the room and look around for the two time gods.
Roland would hang onto the feeling of returning but choose to observe a little longer. If things truly got too dangerous or if the sparks began to surround him then he'd return but for now, he was more curious about what was actually happening. He wanted to see what would begin to happen assuming they had failed at this moment which would seem likely since they hadn't really known what they were supposed to be doing here in the first place. "Everything is...disappearing. Is this what happens when time is broken or is this part of some other machination?"
"Is the show over that quickly? Man, those Phantom Thieves were nothing but posers!" He says outloud while making a quick spin. Soon after, Hawk's materials would dissolve and nothing but crimson, foggy spirit in the shape of a Hawk would remain, which would then quickly hide in the shadow of Kazuo. He chuckled, however, as his own comment was nothing but something he said out of amusement. After all, this was nothing but a game with no actual stakes for him. "No, I was just joking. I'm a bit annoyed I didn't get anything out of this, not even the next two Imaginary Zone skills." He says to his shadow, which had a slightly more feminine shape to it compared to Kazuo's actual body shape, but quickly taking its original form after the young man finishes talking. Without much else to be said, he returns to the room and returns to his "happy-go-lucky" persona.
Owain laughs to himself quietly, seeing the ladies' failure, or disinterest, to notice him. He ends up taking a seat on the ground, intently listening to their conversation. He decides to quietly talk to himself. "Well, that could've gone better... Hopefully I can perform more adequately next time." He waits patiently, swaying back and forth as he sits. "I wonder what Master Delta will say after I tell him about this... side job. Oh, speaking of which..." He lifts up the paper bag still in his right arm and looks inside, making a somewhat loud crackling noise as he does so. He pulls out a large piece of meat wrapped in plastic wrap, then looks beneath it. "I wonder if I bought enough..."
Hilda and Kazuo return to the room without incident, finding their two benefactors watching into a stone basin. After some time, the black-dressed Vicis sighs and steps away Vicis: You have fun with that, I'm sure there's. Vicis turns around to find Owain, Kazuo, and Hilda all back in the room, the girl jumps, as though having finally remembered something Vicis: oh, right. Still need to send you guys home. There's really nothing interesting left for you. Just a little cleanup. After all, can't leave any rotten branches, can we? She speaks of the erasure of a timeline much like one pruning a tree, or perhaps as even less considering the apparent lack of respect for whoever it was that is no more. At the same time, one of the sparks from earlier circles around Owain, it initially approaches the food, but soon seems to take far more interest in the man himself. Roland, from his spot atop the tower, can see buildings beginning to fade from across the city. Atop the tower, Yalbadaoth continues to struggle, finally removing himself from whatever binded him to fire at the sparks, his attacks causing no apparent harm to them, rather, the weapons begin to dissolve as they go into it Yalbadaoth: What infernal interference is this? By what authority.... In spite of its apparent failures earlier, Yalbadaoth attempts to charge up his earlier attack once again, in spite of its robotic nature, even he seems to be panicking to some extent. Roland can likely imagine its much worse for the people remaining below.
Owain chuckles again as the spark begins to circle him, putting his finger up to the little spark, almost as if reaching to an unfamiliar pet; with confidence due to its domestic nature, but still being cautious as not to scare it. "Hey there, little one. Does the darkness call to you as well? It surely must, else you wouldn't be intrigued by me. Only chosen ones truly understand other chosen ones..." He generally doesn't pay attention to anything else, not minding the talk of erasure of the timeline.
Roland would once more face Yalbadaoth with a certain fierceness to his eyes. He looked serious yet despite all the chaos the man didn't seem to lose his composure for a moment. "Don't you think that's enough already? Your attempts to fight against your fate, its ironic in some ways. Right now it seems higher powers than you or me are at work and there's nothing either of us could do even if we wanted to. You're going to disappear here just like the rest of this world and it'll be as if none of this ever happened. No matter how might you think you are it would seem even God can't escape a fate like this. If you do live then I genuinely hope you repent on what you've done as both a ruler and a being with sentient thought. Even if everything were to disappear, as long as someone has the will to rebuild then nothing is truly lost..." Roland having observed this world wished not to witness its horrors as it began to vanish any longer. He'd finally allow himself to be pulled back to the room from before with a solemn look in his eyes.
"You are right Vicis. You know, that was quite the trip, I never thought I would be able to meet the infamous Phanton Thieves in person, much less a god." He would make a dumb smile at Vicis as he walked closer to her. He keeps his hands inside his pockets however, and keeps a close eye on her. "If you don't mind me asking, how was it that you got this position? Were you chosen or were you born with this position? Were you born at all?" He tries to take another step forward, but almost trips with the air. He laughs at this and rubs the back of his head before taking a few steps back. "Sorry, sorry! I got a bit carried away, it's just that this was all really exciting and new to me~"
Nothing to worry about huh? "What the hell happened there, you say we don't need to concern ourselves with an entire world vanishing before our eyes." Hilda gives them a bone-chilling stare, no doubt it wouldn't bother these two, but it might emphasize her point. "What exactly were we trying to do here? And... How likely is that to be the world we usually live in at some point?" And there's Kazuo fishing for info, as per usual... She doesn't trust this guy, not in the least bit. But what's there to do about him anyway? Either way, his little performance... He acts like it's all a game one moment, and deadly serious the next. Something's wrong there but she's not sure what. "At any rate, this whole trip has been... Enlighting in some ways I guess."
Roland returns to the white room with all the others, though as he fades away, Yalbadaoth almost seems to look at him one last time. Whatever it leads to, hardly matters any more. The spark flashes wordlessly around Owain, Vicis smiles and watches the pair. Vicis: It seems Sephira's taken a liking to you. You'd probably make an agreeable vessel. The black-dressed girl calmly smiles back at Kazuo, she giggles a little, perhaps excited for the chance to talk about herself as Constantium finally looks away from the basin with a sigh of relief Vicis: birth is a weird concept for beings like us. Far as I know we've simply existed, at least as long as time has. That's simply how fate works. Constantium and I form two parts of a whole, one being set upon following fate's plan. To be entirely honest, I'm a little glad the anom.... Constantium: I think that's more than enough on the subject. Constantium meets Hilda's gaze with a cold stare of her own, wide smile showing just how insensitive she is to whatever problem Hilda might perceive Constantium: We can't discuss the fate of mortals in any amount of specificity. Its the safest way to ensure everything goes as intended. Though perhaps I should have been more specific, notably I neglected to mention the need to leave as little of an impact as possible. Some deviation is acceptable, but had anyone been hurt..... Constantium's eyes glance over to Roland, as he had almost done something by accident. Constantium takes a deep breath before finally, calmly looking back at Hilda Constantium: All worlds end eventually, its part of the natural cycle that allows new ones to bloom. As I've said, there's no more to discuss on the subject, and I believe its about time for you all to go home.
Roland would focus in on Constantium with another serious glance. There was no more calmness in his gaze but his voice remained collected. He'd almost feel like saying something but at the last minute, something seems to stop him. Perhaps a thought in his head or a plan hatching. "Very well, if you need my help next time just let me know. I think I can still be of use to you here." Roland would stand by waiting to be brought back by whatever means they wish to use to send him back.
Owain looks up at Vicis, raising an eyebrow. "Vessel? What do you mean by that? Speaking of that, what are these little guys anyways? Obviously they're some type of subordinate of yours, seeing how you command them."
The woman simply keeps looking at Constantium. this "god" might not be outright hostile but she's surely all too vague and annoying. So far out of all the gods, she's met, not a one has been likable in the least. Outwardly, she'd simply sound polite and perhaps a bit tired. "Much like Roland, I'd be perfectly willing to lend my aid in the future if needed."
"It's so weird to imagine just always being there. But I at least got some reply to some of my quesitons." Kazuo smiles at Vicis and bows at Constantium. He then crosses both arms over his chest, wondering what he could actually make out of all this, if it even was possible for him to understand concepts alien to his own existence. The thought itself was a bit frightening, similar to when he met that one void man. "I'm sorry if I'm making too many questions, it's just that not usual for a simple mortal to see the workings of time itself. It is still out the control of any human being of course, but just knowing something like this exists..." His smile of excitement turns into embarrassment as he turns to Vicis once more. "It may sound arrogant, but it makes me wish I was some kind of deity, to completely grasp it. Or at least get more chances to understand all I can."
Vicis grins as another one of the sparks swirls playfully around her, the girl reaches out to touch the spark, cradling it in her hand Vicis: A vessel is simple, its one who contains and channels their full strength. In fact, Nexus here ended up in your timeline by accident once. As for what, Nexus, Sefira, Neva, Exava, and many others, are all what we call keepers. Beings like Chronos keep all their ability contained within themselves. However, Constantium and I split ours up so as to more effectively watch time as a whole. Each keeper embodies a fragment of the whole, and when attuned with a proper vessel can potentially unleash more power than even we are capable of. Most of them, such as Nexus here, require a vessel to do much, but the stronger ones like Neva and Exava can do more complicated actions without needing that step, so long as we're watching them. Constantium glances at Hilda, they seem to have changed their tune rather suddenly, might need to keep an eye on that one. Constantium simply shrugs Constantium: Of course, if fate guides you here again then so be it. Now then, Vicis Vicis snaps out of her chat, smiling back at Kazuo, she holds both of her hands close to her chest Vicis: We all have our own place in the universe. You may never be a god, but odds are one of our keepers can find you suitable. Vicis winks at Kazuo, whether its intended flirtatiously or not it illicits a big sigh out of Constantium, who shakes her head rapidly Constantium: Fine, I'll do it myself. Nexus, Sefira, Neva. Its time to send these four home. Without waiting further, the three sparks from earlier rapidly begin to swirl around Hilda, Roland, Owain, and Kazuo, soon, the white room vanishes, leaving them back on the city streets with no time passed. They would appear next to each other, in case they wanted to talk or something. Such things aren't up to me after all.
