Logic Dictates: A New Base
In an old rundown part of the city lies a strange door, hidden in a large abandoned skyscraper and unused for quite some time. However, as of now activity rushes on inside this once forgotten place.
"Well then, I was correct... An old Decepticon storage base. As I guessed, this planet is much like my own Earth... Someone from Cybertron was here, and using it to hold Energon and weapons no less."
That, and a decent number of soldiers in storage apparently. Many robots walk through the base, lean tall and purple, with bits of cars attached to legs and shoulders that would seem to fit into a small-ish car when folded the right way.
"Keeping troops shutdown in storage till needed, a fairly simple idea but one seldom used. Now then... What to do about the Dinobots?"
Yes, that issue is quite a pressing one as of now. Such people will not simply bide their time once they are made aware of Decepticon forces here, and while cloning of some kind is a valid option it would take time and resources.
"Perhaps these organics...? They seem to hold strange powers, and there is no need to tell them of my true goals here until it is too late for them. Yes, the humans could be valid pawns against my true foes if used properly."
If he had a mouth, Shockwave would smirk as he sends a transmission to all the Vehicons around his new base. An entry into said, "Unused building" is left open at the front, his forces now having orders to not fire on any humans unless attacked themselves first and even then to attempt negotiations. Simply put, his aim here is to draw people in and if anyone who seems... Pliable and powerful is met, well perhaps they could be hired?
"Yes that is correct, do not start a firefight unless it is against an Autobot. And even then I wish to keep our true nature hidden as much as possible, the organics here are not as weak as usual."
With that, the large one-eyed robot steps up and walks toward the entry of the base, staring out from it and wondering who might show themselves in such a rundown part of this city.
Star suddenly appears in a puff of smoke.
Hmm...an open entry into a building full of probably useful stuff...well, doesn't this scream trap!
Star walks inside the building.
Makoto had been walking through the city when she had gotten lost in thought. Before she knew it, she found herself in front of the entrance. She looked around curiously to see just where she had ended up. Not knowing where she was, Makoto had let out a sigh. She looked inside the entrance hoping to find someone to help her out. However she stayed on guard. Not knowing what was inside she was prepared for anything. She hoped that she would not have to do anything though. As she walked closer to the entrance she saw another person walk inside. Maybe they were familiar with the area
I hope this goes well, not that I expect anything great to come out of this strange place.
She quickly went inside not wanting to stay on the abandoned streets any longer.
By the time Shockwave returns to the entrance, a small, humanoid machine clings to the wall, perched directly above the doorway, most of its frame would blend into the shadow, yet its eyes give off a faint red glow to make it far easier to see. The thing's eyes glance around the room, as though trying to observe everything at once, but spends most of its time watching Shockwave
Star would find that the entry isn't quite open, rather there's a large purple robot with a single red eye staring down at the woman as she walks inside. He'd speak in a cold voice, devoid of emotion.
"Ah, the goddess from that little fighting match I believe? I saw it, quite... Odd to say the least, yet I can not deny you were impressive. Quite powerful, for organic life at any rate. Now then, what brings you to my base?"
His base he says, well, for now, he is the highest ranked soldier here so it's sadly true. Even so, such a term feels entirely wrong to the Bot. He'd shake his head and keep going.
"At any rate, I find myself rather in need of forces at the moment... Have you heard tell of a robotic t-rex running through a city a while ago? A foe of mine and I can assure you if left alone he will do far worse than smash up buildings and cars."
Hmm? Glowing red eye of some machine, contact must be made... But here is another human, and scans of her would reveal energy not unlike that of the "Persona User" from the match, though not exactly alike.
"And ah, another human has found my base it seems? Welcome, I am Shockwave. Currently speaking I am in charge of the place, and might I inquire as to what brings you two here? As I told the one who came before you, I have been searching for allies in a bit of a battle... Against a foe who not too long ago, was smashing one of your cites to bits in fact."
If any more questions are asked, news reports can, of course, be pulled up and displayed. Yes, quite helpful of Grimlock to rampage blindly without a care in plain city streets.
Hmm...not recently, no. As for why I'm here, I saw this place and thought I could get some resources. It's not everyday that you can simply stumble upon a large vault of materials. And please don't bring that fight up. My opponent was quite rude, to say the least. So, let me guess, if I take care of this foe for you, you'll give me some resources? Seems like a fair trade at least.
Makoto would stare at the robot in awe for a moment before snapping back. This robot reminded her of her persona.
Ah! Hello there..My name is Makoto. I accidentally stumbled upon this place after being lost in thought. And now I am quite lost. I would just like to know where I am...
She then thinks to herself, curious as to what Shockwave was talking about.
And about that giant T-Rex? I haven't heard anout that. And I rather informed on that before leaving this place.
Resources humans can use... Yes, Mass Displacement, yes. He can build weapons of some stripe or another, some kind of vehicle perhaps?
"A logical guess yes, my current resources are not limitless by any means. But I could provide weapons and such in exchange for fire support, naturally, however, the Dinobots are not so easily killed."
No, that lot is annoying tough and in no small part, it's Shockwave's own fault. Of course, that happens to be why he's even bothering to deal with humans at the moment.
"Now then, I am willing to speak on exactly what kind of resources you happen to be in search of. Though I can not afford to part with much in the way of raw Energon, my mining operations are currently... Slow going."
Ah, more details? A smaller robot than Shockwave would appear from the back of the base, holding a computer screen in hand.
"Of course, I can quite easily provide details on him... Said Bot's name, is Grimlock."
The mook would hit a button, a video coming up of as stated, a large silver metal t-rex running through a city and smashing anything in its path to bits without a second thought. The video goes on like this for several minutes before stopping.
"You see my concern? He is... Unstable to say the least, illogical, and challenging to predict at best. Not to mention grossly effective with brute force."
Energon? Sounds neat. And that Dinobot will be as good as extinct when I'm done with it! All I ask is a tiny amount of this Energon stuff in advance to see if I do want it or not. If not, I can always do with some basic resources, like metal.
A robot? Shockwave would quickly begin scanning the bots in front of him... Only to note that they have human pilots, wonderful.
"Ah, human military forces of some kind? I can not say I was expecting you to appear, but welcome to my base nonetheless. I am Shockwave, and what business do you have with my forces and me?"
He eyes the mechs, slightly cautious of seeing so many weapons. Yet clearly not aiming to start a fight as he keeps his weapons aimed toward the ground and simply looks at them. As for the Energon... A small amount can be used, though it is not exactly safe for humans.
"I shall provide you with a bit of Energon, do note however that it is toxic to humans. Use only in weapons and other devices, and I do not suggest attempting to overcharge tech not made to work with it either."
He would lead deeper into the base and provide said resource, but sadly his newest armed and hostile looking guests are a bit distracting.
Makoto watches the video. The T-Rex concerned her. She wondered where a beast like that would come from and why it was destroying the city. Pondering this she also wondered about Shockwave. He said something about his foes, and seeing him concerned about the T-Rex made her want to get to know more about what he exactly wants to do, and what he'll do against this problem. She was about to ask Shockwave more questions when she saw the other mechs come down. She slowly backed up as they came down wondering what they were doing.
Uh, so Shockwave, what are your plans about the T-Rex causing mayhem in the city?
a boy about 12 years old arrives on the scene. he arrives quietly and decides to follow the group into the building
What am... Ah, his race.
"As I said I am Shockwave, to explain in more detail I am a Cybertronian scientist. Unfortunately, there are... Others of my race here."
The smaller bot would return, placing the computer in front of the blue mech and playing the video of Grimlock running wild through the streets. Data stolen from public security cameras of course, but no need to point that out as the screen shows the Dinobot smashing cars and buildings up without reckless charges.
"That is Grimlock, a Dinobot... As for what I aim to do? A logical question, and that depends entirely on Grimlock himself. If he can be reasoned with and made to stop then that is for the best, if not? Well..."
He'd pause for a moment, it truly is a shame having to kill his kind. But even so, these things happen in war after all.
"More drastic action must be taken, and if I must I will extinguish Grimlock's Spark. Still, that is not my first choice."
No, Grimlock could be a good asset to the Cons if he is convinced to join. As unlikely as that is, Shockwave will of course attempt. Still, it would be best to try and keep the Dinobot enraged lest he explain the true nature of Shockwave's goals.
Meh, okay then. I'll keep it out of everyone except those who can handle it, like me. So, mind telling me what this Energon stuff can do in the first place? Sounds like a huge battery type thing, but I'd rather not try anything before learning what it can do.
Makoto stood there as she thought about what Grimlock was. She wondered to herself what a Dinobot was. It reminded her of something she would hear from a Saturday morning cartoon. Thinking of that made her laugh a bit, however this situation was real, and a problem. She looked at Shockwave, who didn't really seem like a bad guy to her.
So if you try and reason with them you could stop this huh? That would be a good help to this city, but as you said, if you are unable to reason with him drastic measures will be taken...
She thought to herself again, going over and over in her mind what she thought about this. Now that she knew about it, she didn't want to leave it alone if she didn't know if it was resolved for the better. She looked up to Shockwave.
I-If you need help with Grimlock, I wouldn't mind helping you out. Of course if you need extra power if things turn for the worse. I'm not the strongest, but i can do some damage! If Grimlock is destroying stuff like that, I can't sit around knowing about it wondering if things will be resolved. I rather see it for myself. So, if you don't mind, I would like to offer my help.
Gah, dealing with humans peacefully is quite annoying. As for it feeling like one of his, yes that adds up.
"Naturally, we are both Cybertronians after all. That being said, if you are suggesting I am working alongside Grimlock then no not in the least bit."
Details... Yes, that would be helpful, he'd send a transmission to his mooks asking for both a flash drive and a small sample of Energon. After a bit two bots come out, one handing Shockwave the drive, the other giving Star a small blue vial full of Energon.
"Mech pilot, this drive contains data on both Grimlock and another of the Dinobots. Swoop is the other's name, both are foes of myself and threats. Naturally, I suggest taking this data and preparing for the worst. I shall sum up quickly why they are a threat."
A pause, how best to go about this? Shockwave leans back against one of the walls after handing Vidar the flash drive.
"They were... Experiments during a time of crisis, war raged on and people needed a way to turn the tides. Thus the attempt at Dinobots happened, sadly however those brave souls who signed on weren't quite the same by the time it was done. The process left them far less intelligent than they once were, not to mention filled with rage. Now, well I aim to reason with them but I do not have high hopes."
Of course, all utterly true but what he fails to mention is that they are still less of a threat to humans than his own faction. As for Star and her Energon, he'd look down at her.
"As for Energon, it is a power source, and ammo It can be used as a potent energy source for many tasks, and it is the main supply to the weapons we rely upon when we must. I am sure you could do much with it."
Along with the lifeblood of Cybertronians, but that detail is best kept to himself and his forces. No need to give the humans ideas if it comes to violence. Ah, the human is an idealist? He can work with that.
"Aid would be greatly helpful if needed, naturally I would prefer to deal with my own problems myself. But if it impacts you as well, then one could say you as well have a stake in this battle. Ah yes, what are your names by the way?"
Well, my name is Star Sakura, but I'm sure you already knew that from the fight. And this Energon stuff will be fun to experiment with.
Star takes the Energon and puts it in her pocket.
Alright then, you've got yourself a deal. For now, I'll see what I can do with this Energon. Maybe make something interesting with it.
As if out of nowhere, Grimlock bashes through a wall that showed his picture on the monitor,
"GRIMLOCK SMASH!!!" he said as he bashed through the wall, roaring outloud, taking out his energon sword and shield while pointing it at Shockwave,
"YOU!" He yelled at Shockwave, "I have a score to settle against you...." he growled as he prepared for combat, getting into a combat stance.
"Hey, human!" Grimlock said, noticing Makoto in the scene,
"Get out of here, this 'aint your fight!" He said as he quickly lunged towards Shockwave
...well this escalated quickly! Give me a moment while I get something to help!
Star runs out before vanishing in a puff of smoke.
Makoto nods and gives Shockwave a nervous smile.
I don't mind giving help. If you ever need my help with anything, I'll be ready. I'm willing to help as long as it's for a good cause, and stopping Grimlock is a good one. Having a large beast like that is troublesome. Oh! And to properly introduce myself, I am Makoto Niijima. It's and honor to meet you Shockwave.
[/i]As she finished up she saw Grimlock come through the wall. Surprised she backed away
What the!?
Not knowing what exactly was going on she stood ready for action. She trusted Shockwave as of now, and seeing Grimlock before them, she thought that she could see Shockwave try to reason with grimlock.[i]
As the massive brute crashes through the building, the much smaller machine would scurry from its position above the doorway, eyes going dark to avoid detection as it seeks shelter in a dark corner of the building's ceiling, a safe vantage point to observe what happens next. A faint *clink* sound can be heard as its limbs dig into the walls to gain enough traction to lead to its vantage point
Something tells him this Vidar isn't going to be much help and one thing the man might not know... Decepticons do not ever trust a new "ally" fully. Regardless, he'd reply in his usual emotionless voice. Or he would, if not for Grimlock appearing.
"Grimlock, it has been quite some time hasn't it? I would like to state that violence is not a preferred option for myself here. We are reasonable Bots are we not?"
He'd sigh and raise his gun up a bit, speaking or no he by no means expects the Dinobot to listen. Shockwave enters his own combat stance.
"I will fight if I must, but can't we think of better uses for our Energon? It has been many years Dinobot, and I believe that it would be best for all involved to try and move on... Despite the side effects of those experiments, you are still capable of reason clearly. So I have some hope that we can settle this without coming to blows."
Of course, if this does come to blows... He is more than prepared to battle, and besides. The Dinobot did take something of Shockwave's as well.
"There's NOTHING to reason with!" Grimlock yelled, as his anger peaked, "You tortured us, you altered our form, and worst of all...you did it for the Decepticons!"
He roared as he clanged his energon sword to his shield,
"For this, you are BEYOND FORGIVABLE!" Grimlock said as he rushed towards shockwave and tried to slash him to finally end him
"THIS IS FOR THE DINOBOTS!"
Makoto stood there quickly looking around seeing everything going for the worse she stepped back as Grimlock charged towards Shockwave. The two had a complicated past it seemed, and now wasn't the time to ask anything about it. It seemed Grimlock was out of control, as Shockwave offered to talk it out. She thought to herself a moment before yelling out to Shockwave.
You seem capable of handling this thing, but you say the word and I'll blast him with everything I've got. However afterwards, I would like to ask you something!
Trust? No, not really, but he can't say he expected to have to use that failsafe so soon.
"I see, if you wish to attack me for no reason then I have plans in mind for such events. As for my logic? It dictates that I always have a backup."
The USB drive inside of Vidar's cockpit would suddenly explode, a massive wave of Energon power appearing inside of the cockpit and blasting outward. Assuming the man was anything like a normal human, it would be enough to turn him to dust.
"And do not think my forces so easily killed by such treachery..."
The graze ogre cannot in fact instantly smash all of Shockwave's base with no chance to be responded to. Rather it would find itself being pelted by gunfire from several Vehicons. While the axes are able to slash through those close by, the minions would continue firing upon their foe and aiming to target the head and any other weak points.
"I would not call it torture, but my memory is not clouded by things best left forgotten Grimlock... I am sorry for what has happened, but I cannot allow this to keep going. As for aid, I believe I have it under control."
Once upon a time Shockwave would have stood and cowered at the sight of the enraged Dinobot, but he is not so easily defeated any longer. He'd roll backward and begin firing off blasts from the cannon, aiming to slam the shots into the Dinobot's legs and hopefully slow him down.
The Unicorn quickly runs in, Star secretly piloting it.
Stop right there, Dinobot! I'm here to stop you in the name of...of...uhh... something! Yeah!
The Unicorn quickly pulls two beam sabers out of nowhere and poses heroically...or at least tries and fails to.
"I SAID, GET OUT OF HERE HUMAN!" Grimlock yelled as he blocked the fire from the Vehicons with the shield and slashed them away,
"Time to tear all of you apart!" Grimlock roared as he started to transform, but the shots affected his legs a little, but they did not faze Grimlock as he finally turned into a T-Rex, roaring so loud that most of the Vehicons would most likely cower as he ran towards them, biting, and breathing fire at them.
True, the mooks are easily killed off. What is less easily dealt with is Shockwave, who's been charging up energy in his cannon the entire time that his Vehicons have been fighting against Grimlock. As for the Steve forces, they're simply cowering for the most part.
"Very well, logic dictates if you cannot be reasoned with then I must use force."
His cannon fires off, a huge purple blast of energy rushing from the weapon and toward the right side of Grimlock's face, tough or no, if such a blow were to strike the Dinobot would no doubt feel some pain. Of course, Shockwave would keep pressing his fire, blasting away with smaller shots trying to hit the Dinobot's eyes if possible. As for Vidar, the craft pulling him out of the area would bee tailed by a flying Vehicon, staying a good bit out of sight. The plane would hopefully be able to follow them right back to Vidar's base.
Potshots would be taken from a distance by swoop who just arrived to the battlefield at shockwave in his chest,Arm cannon, And head to take out that big red pupil of his! and to follow grimlock into battle where he goes Swoop would go and follow and show the fury of the dinbots to him and what he created will end him for good
"THIS IS FOR SLUDGE YOU FREAK!"
