A long day
In the city's park A teen with a sword and shield was dodge attacks from what appears to be a owl but the things that the owl was attack with was not normal, in case it was shooting fire out of it's feathers. The teen would used the sheild to black some of the fire before rolling out of the way of the attack. Once the fire landed on the ground, it seemingly vanished "Alright, I feel that is good for now" The teen would say as he puts away his sword, the owl soon gently flys to the teen before glowing for a moment then the owl vanished. The teen, also known as Brycen happily sighs as he soon puts away his shield "Man, me leaving this city and going into hiding was the best idea I had, but guess i'm back and hopeful I get to meet some new people" Brycen said happily
"If I use this rune and combine it with the Arabic system then? No no no. That won't work. But maybe if I took the one from the Mayan system it may work. But the efficiency." a girl would be mumbling to herself at a table in the park while looking through some textbooks The girl had long black hair and was wearing a school uniform you weren't familiar with. Next to her was her signature teddy bear back pack. Even with all the commotion from Brycens battle she didn't even take notice as she focused on what seemed to be her homework.
Brycen looks at the girl in confusion, not know who his was but he knew what she was doing and did pretty much nothing and looked away
The girl would scream before finally collapsing on the table face first into her book. "I give up" she says, a groan escaping her lips as she turns her head an finally notices Brycen. She stared for a few moments before she began to blush bright red. Quickly sitting up straight and smoothing out the wrinkles in her skirt. "H-hi there. How long have you been there?" she nervously asked hoping she didn't seem like a weird person
Brycen didn't say thing for a moment as the girl screamed and collapsed... Brycen shook his head as he was given a question "I've been here for awhile, but I just now notice you" Brycen said, rubbing the back of his head while chuckling On the back of Brycen, was his backpack, sword and shield
"A-ah. G-good good." She let out a sigh of relief. Maybe he didn't notice her earlier outburst. First impressions were everything after all. She would look him over as she noticed the sword and shield and then the backpack. Was he a student too? "Are you a student too? What academy do you attend?" A smile arising on her face with a curious glint in her eye.
A kid who looks about 13 is walking by. He was attracted by the fighting noises and saw Brycen, weapons on his back. "Nice stuff you got there, I usually prefer lighter items like knives, but you seem skilled at the sword and shield." The kid would then plop himself on a bench and look around.
"I'm not a student. I'm just a wizard who know how to use a sword and shield" Brycen said before looking at Alex "That interesting"
Alex's eyes lighted up at the mention of wizard "What kind? Personally I use golems" The lie felt kinda weird, but he decided to press on
A wizard? Like from the movies and stuff. Does that mean he was a self taught Magi then? So he might have unique magic like her right. She was brought back from within her thoughts after hearing Alex's voice. She turned to the boy who was only 2 years younger as she sighed and began to put her textbooks away into her backpack. Considering Alex's usual shenanigans she wasn't going to take the risk of her homework turning into a pile of ash. After putting her books up she waved to Alex giving him a light greeting then turned her attention back to Brycen. "What kind of magic do you use?"
Alex returned the greeting and started figiting
"Oh, well I use elements Like fire, water, earth, air, life, dead, all of the stuff + a bit more. I also have my own familiar which is a owl" Soon a owl appears out of know where and lands on Brycen's shoulder. Soon some fire, water, dirt, leafs, air (that can been seen but mostly as some lines) but they all seem to be shaped in a ball and were floating "So yeah... i'm still learning my magic... and to try and remain calm during fights or bad things will happen"
"well, for me, I usually not fight. The knives are for just self defense, yeah, totally. are you tired after practicing or do you want to face me in battle, because I need the practice." More lies? This could end bad.
If he looked his age then he wasn't bad at all. In her class he would be a little above average. Well, considering her classmates that was still a pretty impressive feat, even more so since he was self taught. "That's pretty neat. I have my own familiar too" As she said this a small light formed next to her and then dimmed revealing a small doll wearing a red gothic lolita dress. The doll looked similar to Mirei but seemed like an older version. The doll floated next to Mirei and bowed. Mirei let out a giggle at the sight. "Her names Stella. She's an Aegis type familiar." She would then have a sudden look of realization on her face as she looked at Brycen and stood up. "Sorry for the late introduction. My name is Mirei" She said with a curtsy "Its a pleasure to meat you.
"Well, do you want to battle or not?" Alex was starting to get pushy, kinda suspicious
"I wish to not do a battle, and this is a place where innocent people can be harmed, so I will have to decline your offer" Brycen look at Mirei and Stella with eyes filled with stars "Wow, that's cool" Brycen soon looked at Mirei as she curtsy "It's nice to meet you Mirei, I'm Brycen"
"Will you stop trying to fight every person you meet Alex. I swear you're such a kid." She said as she scolded the boy. "Are wizards common where you're from?" she would ask as she sat back down, careful not let her skirt come up
"Well, ok, the name's Alex. And doesn't this place seem like Central Park?" After looking at Stella, Alex would say, "I'm not really familiar with that area of magic"
"Well, yes but where I come from. People with red eyes usually end up turning evil and people just believe that will happen to all people with red eyes, so if a kid is born with red eyes, the parents will ignore the kid and not give it love"
"That's f**ked up. I came from a place that was being invaded by ChAoS and it wasn't that bad. But why red?"

She would look at Alex a bit surprised he didn't know. "Its not so much a specific field of magic but more a summoning. You summon a creature born of mana either from your world or another and then bind it with a pact. I don't know about other worlds but in mine the proof of the pact is the naming of the familiar." She would then tilt her head and ponder a little with her eyes closed as she continued. "Though saying that, a person can only ever contract two familiars in their entire life. Also, persona users can't contract them either so it wouldn't be of much use to you anyways." she would say as she opened her eyes and Stella began nodding at her words as if to confirm them before it began to sit on her shoulder. She would then hear what Brycen said and turn her attention back to him. Noticing his red eyes she would show some concern. "I'm sorry to hear that. Both my papa and my siblings have red eyes but that's not a stigma where I'm from. I can't really say I know how it feels. Are you alright."
"Oh yeah, there was monsters everywhere some good, some bad, and some in the middle" "I used to be in this party, where we battle monsters. A dragons almost killed my friend... but I saved him, but it cost my life. My friend, I forgot their names. Brought me back to life but it sent me to the nexus and I had to start from the beginning well magic wise" "Oh, I was not born with red eyes"
(edited by Brycen)
"well, at least the dragons here are nicer."
"So, you're older than you appear. Also, magic that can bring a person back to life in such a perfect condition is, honestly speaking, incredible. But if you weren't born with red eyes then how did you get them" she asked, a slight tilt of her head with Stella imitating the action
"Well, no my age did not change, this the age I was when I died. Yeah but the spell also teleports the person into another world or location. When I died and came back to life, I found that I now had red eyes"
"I see" she said pondering his words He was revived in another world. That sounded way too impractical. There wasn't even a way to know if the spell worked if the target was sent to another world. Even more so if his memory was impaired as a result. It would make more since to say that he wasn't so much as revived but recreated. Maybe his body was still in his world but his soul migrated to this world and his body reconstructed. Considering the nature of the Nexus it was wholly possible. The truth is if that was the case it may not even be completely true that he's who he says he is. Not that she thought he was lying but more so that he himself didn't know. In the end all she had were theories with no concrete evidence. She would stop thinking about it and simply smile at him. "Then I guess I should be saying welcome to the nexus."
"Oh, I've already been here for some months now, so you don't need to welcome me here"
Brycen uses his magic to make a wooden cup appear that is filled with hot coffee
on a nearby park bench, Brycen might notice a tall, grey-haired man fast asleep,?head up as though he fell asleep looking out for something
Brycen would look at the sleeping tall man "Ok then, that is happening"
Brycen would sigh as he looks around the park to see if anyone was here Brycen would summon a ball of lightning and gently hits the ground with it, making a thunder sound, he soon unsummoned the ball of lightning
The tall man is still sleeping, it seems a little noise like that wasn't enough to wake him. And it doesn't seem like anyone else is around
Brycen would looks at the man "Man, rough sleeper" Brycen would looks around as he summoned his owl "Go look around" The owl nods his head before flying off
Sorry for the late reply, was at work and didn't come home till late Mirei would giggle at the earlier comment. "I haven't seen you around before....though I guess it is a really big city. People who come to the nexus seem to be somehow drawn to each other so I thought since I hadn't seen you around you might have been new. Sorry for jumping to conclusion." a slight breeze ruffling her hair as she moves it behind her ear
Brycen looks at Mirei "It's alright"
Brycen sat down and took out his sword, he smirks as the point of his pointing finger lights up in fire he soon points on his sword and starts shooting fire at the sword like a laser. He seems to be upgrading his sword while humming a song
"Are there no laws about keeping your magic a secret where you're from?"
"Nope" Brycen shoots water out of his hands and into the wooden mug, he soon drinks the water before finishing upgrading his sword "Wizards are very normal from where I live but so are warlocks and witches"
After a long rest, the tall, grey-haired man finally leans up, stretching his arms with a yawn. After a bit to rub the exhaustion from his eyes, the man glances between the two children present, raising an eyebrow at Brycen Hey, don't you two have parents or something? Feels like they should be around here
The teen would look at Nicola "Nope, they're still in the world that i'm from... but I don't remember them" Brycen looks at his newly upgraded sword and smiles "There we go"
"That's pretty interesting. Very different from where I'm from in some ways." she would say as she picked up her backpack and put it on. After hearing the man with the grey hair her attention would turn to him. "My parents are at work" she shrugged "I was doing homework until a certain 13 year old showed up."
another world? The grey-haired man looks to Brycen with a sigh, soon he mutters something indescernible under his breath, before finally looking more closely at his surroundings Oh, huh. That's weird. Oh well, a city's a city. And.... The grey-haired man squints at Brycen's weapon, as though he's not sure of what he's seeing, before finally standing up Yeah, you're definitely too young for that.... Unless handing out swords is all the rage for parents these days. The man yawns, perhaps rubbing away the last of his exhaustion as he shakes his head and looks back to Mirei Oh, you've been studying right? To follow in your parents' footsteps, like most kids are supposed to do... I think... I... Guess I wouldn't know.
Mirei would give him a wry smile as she shook her head. "Not to follow in their footsteps. They do things I can't." She would then lighten up a little with a small smile "I study so I can find the things only I can do."
Brycen sighs as his hand is suddenly on fire and he touches the right of his sword's guard before the fire was suddenly vanishes and then ball of water appears around on Brycen's hand and he touches and left side of his sword's guard then the water vanishes
Al... Right The grey-haired man looks back over to Mirei, shaking his head with a sigh before trying to put on something resembling a smile Right right, because we're all special snowflakes who do our own things and... I mean.... Ugh The man shakes his head his face returning to a frown as he speaks in an almost begrudging manner I sure am glad they decided to let you follow your own path. Do whatever it is you can do and that'll be fi.... glancing back at Brycen, the man takes a deep breath, perhaps some attempt to calm himself as he walks towards the kid Ok, that ACTUALLY answered NONE of my questions. you sure you're supposed to even be here? As though having just realized what he said, the man shakes his head and mutters under his breath again, barely audibly Where's Marlone when you need him?
"What question?" Brycen said as he cleans his sheild
"Are you ok?" she asked the man as he looked almost like he was having a mr jackel and hide show with himself. Its not like she didn't pick up on his sarcasm before. In fact it irritated her how he basically made fun of her resolve but she would try to keep it to herself as the man himself seemed very uncertain of his own words. That did not stop her familiar Stella from flying in front of him and creating a ball of water to attempt to drop on his head. "STELLA NO!" she exclaimed to the doll like familiar before it dropped the water and quickly flew behind her. Mirei would immediately stand up and bow her head "I'm so sorry. She doesn't usually act this way." she said bowing over and over again
"I am so confused right now" Brycen said
The man doesn't even flinch as the water is dropped over his head, almost as though he couldn't even feel it, though his hair and clothes are still wet for the effort. The man breathes out a frustrated sigh before nodding vigorously I'm fine its fine. Gonna take a lot more than that to bother me. I'm just... Well... Guess you could tell. The man nervously scratches the back of his head, letting out another sigh before stammering out I'm just... Not very good with kids. I get told I'm way too aggressive all the time, but what am I even supposed to do with 'em.... Not... That kids are a problem or anything. And... Don't bother with all those formalities. Never been very good there either. The man tries to wave away Mirei's apologies as he glares back at Brycen I said you're a bit young to be swordfighting and your response was to start flinging magic around for no reason. No "I'm only practicing" or "I just thought it looked cool." You know, the usual excuses There's a hint of sarcasm in his tone as the man shakes his head muttering to himself once more before commenting At least no one's crying this time.
"oh sorry, I was just upgrading my sword that way in case of fight and well you may think that young to fight but to me it's normal for a teen like me to fight evil" Brycen rubs the back of his head as he smiles and chuckles
