[BLANK]
You are empty, you are nothing. Your identity is lost to you as if it never belonged to you in the first place. Just a mass of existence with a vague shape. Around you the world is dark. You cannot see anything before you. This is fine because you cannot think either and thus are unaware of the darkness surrounding you. Suddenly, before you a light begins to break through the eternal darkness. Cracking through it little by little as if breaking apart your cold reality. For the first time you can see and for the first time you can think but your mind and body only fixate on the light for now.
The first to think into the silence, though there are no words at this time, still he thought. Looking into the light, it seems so bright, garish, chaotic. There was peace in the darkness, calm. The new sensation seems like a pain, more than anything. After all, was it not enough to simply be? No need to worry, nor these confusing, new concerns. A simpler time, and to some, is simplicity not happiness?
Despite their thought the light did not seem to fade, it would only begin cracking the walls of the void more and more, shining brighter and brighter. When it reached it's peak a voice would echo out, speaking with clarity so none could misunderstand it and a warmth that would continue to grow until it seemed to burn at the ears of those listening. "You who know only darkness, I have come to give to you the gift of awakening. You will know thought and you will know awareness. Through these newfound gifts you will be able to set and identity for yourself. It is pointless to try to refuse, for even the ability to refuse is only possible because of what I have given you."
Nicola winces at the brightness, raising an arm to cover his... Arm? Face? Its strange, not how new the ideas are, but rather how it seems they were always there. He has the shape of a man, if nothing else. Nicola speaks out, his own voice a faint whisper compared to that of the light Nicola Adel. That is me... The question is, what do you want? Why bother doing this to me?
The light would seem to flash brightly for a moment before the dark seemed to be encircling it to repair the cracks but only a little at a time. "You were simply lost in the dark and I simply wished to wake you as I wake all those who find themselves in such a state. The light of sentience is such a beautiful thing that should not be wasted. Wether you cherish it or not is part of the freedom associated with the light you hold now as well." The cracks would begin quickly reforming as the light once again would be consumed by the dark. "My time before you grows short. The dark will try to pull you under it's influence once more but you shall not fall into it again. You have been gifted with insight, that should be all that is required to gain your freedom..." The dark would finally reform as the light completely fades from view. All that would remain is the dark expanse once more but it wasn't as dark as it once was before. The ground would now be visible, covered in what seemed to be a strange grass. A few dark figured could be spotted nearby, including what seemed to be something larger growing out of the ground but it would be hard to tell what it was from this distance.
Nicola, a wanderer now, blinks for a moment once the light is gone, readjusting his eyes to the darkness, after a moment to be used to it once more, the man begins walking, though he had no particular destination in mind, he almost seems to be drawn to the other dark figures, no doubt he looked something like them in the blackness. The other object seems... Curious, new, if nothing else
As Nicola grows closer to the figures their images would begin to grow clearer. They seemed to be a group of three all staring towards eachother. Al of them werel masses of a dark substance that was smoky in nature. Despite this their eyes almost seemed lighter comparatively with the rest of the dark environment. They would continue staring at eachother until he approached at which point they'd begin to fixate on him, more specifically on his eyes.
Do I look funny to you? A touch annoyed by their reaction, Nicola meets the gaze of each of the figures individually, before trying to simply walk past the three the fastest way possible, even if it means going through the group. Whatever it was he's looking for, it doesn't seem to be them. Perhaps the larger shape will be more interesting, but for some reason he feels some sort of distrust of spectators, especially since they don't seem particularly interested in approaching
Nicola would slowly begin approaching the larger figure as he moves past the group. They didn't seem to be giving chase and instead would simply observe him until he's out of view. For whatever reason their eyes would still feel as though they were watching even as he leaves as if staring even through the darkness. More figures would slowly begin to seem to be popping up in the distance as if forming out of the ground itself. They'd be the size of the three he had just walked by with hard to notice but present eyes equally as observant. With their decreased distance towards the larger figure they'd notice that it's shape definitely seemed to be not of a human but rather of a tall structure that seemed to extend outwards as it got higher up.
Nicola keeps an eye out for the other shadowy figures, for some reason he gets the feeling he doesn't particularly want their attention. He again passes by the other individuals, careful not to step too close as he continues moving towards the structure Wonder how long that's been there. Come to think of it, wasn't the light trying to spread sentience to everything? Wonder if it can talk... Can any of these guys? though he was mostly talking to himself, Nicola looks at the other shadowy figures as though expecting some kind of answer from them
Nicola would grow closer and closer to the structure, they could now see that it perhaps could be compared to a tree in its shape but it was still a shadowy figure in appearance as well. The figures all seemed to be capable of hearing him as they seemed to focus in on him as he walked on. Suddenly they slowly seemed to begin moving, slowly at first but soon they seemed to start walking at a fast pace. They seemed to follow him and try to get closer. More and more seemed to pop up as well. They would all stare forward as they approached.
Nicola glances around at the other forms following him. Maybe they were all just scared? Doesn't really matter too much, Nicola picks up the pace a bit to stay ahead of the figures, and more importantly determine whether they were following, or chasing. Followers wouldn't mind keeping their distance after all. Focusing back on the... Tree-like thing. It actually seems like a decent place to rest, if nothing else. Though what to rest for is perhaps still a question. He's starting to feel a little tired anyways
The figures would begin to move closer and closer, growing faster with time in order to catch up with Nicola. They'd begin extending their arms out as if trying to reach out and grab him but they'd still be some distance away. He'd have finally been able to get close to the tree and might notice cracks running along its surface. The cracks seemed to emit a faint glow of sorts. The glow would feel warm but not as hard to approach as the light had been before.
Nicola notes the figures speeding up alongside him, alright obviously not just followers then, not that he's that inspirational anyways. He briefly considers turning to fight them, but with how many there are, and how tired he feels its probably a bad idea. He starts running to get to the tree faster, taking note of the new light from within it, Nicola would try to reach the tree and perhaps put his fingers in one of these cracks to expose the light within
