Pitch Black Revelry
In a large, bustling city like tokyo it often seems the city itself is alive and breathing, its people the blood pumping through its beating heart. It would be difficult to find anywhere secluded at almost any point, much to the chagrin of a certain tall, grey-haired man. Without knowing the place well, he wanders aimlessly, looking for places less and less crowded as his eyes slowly drift shut. The man manages to keep himself awake long enough to find an area that, while still well-maintained, doesn't seem to have any lights on, and the city's noise is much more muted from here. Satisfied, the man finds a relatively comfortable spot in one of the alleyways, sits down, and drifts off to sleep. That was a mistake. It wouldn't be too long until a group of low-level thugs found him, a foreigner in what they considered to be their territory. The man is awoken with a bat to the face as a group of five are gathered around him, two holding pistols, two knives, and the one wielding a bat who seems to be their leader Lead thug: Looks like you're finally up, you should really know better than to sleep in someone else's turf The man blinks for a moment, his eyes slowly adjusting as he wakes to look around the group before him, before he really gets his bearings he's struck again Leader: Hey hey hey, keep your eyes on me. We'll make sure to teach you a lesson. If you can still walk afterwards that is
From one of the alleyways you would see a woman walking. She would notice the group of thugs and the man on the ground but would feel nothing from it. She would ignore this and go about her day until one of the thugs called out to her. A sigh escaping her lips as she feels his hand on her shoulder. Before he could even react she grabbed his hand, throwing him to the ground. "Trust me when I say you don't want to involve me." she said looking back over her shoulder to the group with a glare.
A young woman in black armor wanders the streets, there's a large cloud of bugs floating around her and several more scouting ahead. One such bug moving ahead would quickly spot the little gang violence and in moments Skitter's rushing after them, insect-like lenses gleaming in the moonlight as a black hammer with beady red eyes take shape in her hands. After a bit, she'd come upon the scene and point her weapon toward them as her swarm buzzes about over her. "Hiya everyone! Geez is this party invite only or did we just happen to miss the start? Either way, I guess I'm crashing it... Now, who wants to play first? Or be shy, I love it when they run and hide!" The hammer would almost seem to eye them with hunger, mostly because it is. Not that her foes are likely to realize that. "And oh, it's you again huh Velvet? I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got... If they're stupid enough to fight."
A man in weird looking armor but resembles modern military passes by Velvet and Taylor while holding a bull-pup rifle. Hey thugs. Back away from the man before shit gets REAL nasty. from the sky a giant robot falls from the sky and lands behind the group while aiming a bigger rifle at them. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/titanfall/images/9/9a/Ion_Warpaint_Elite.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20170725105000
[iThe leader simply laughs as one of the knife guys foolishly tried calling out to some pretty, black-haired girl. He steps away from the grey-haired man, motioning for his three remaining buddies to get a little behind him.[/i] Leader: Well well, looks like we've got a feisty one. Gun thug 2: honestly, dressed like that she's asking for trouble. And... This is our place after all. Why don't you just.... her glare makes the man pause for a second as his pistol-toting companion pats him on the shoulder Gun thug 1: chill out man, there's one of her and four of us. Five whenever he gets back up. Soon enough Skitter makes her appearance with a horde of insects, the guys look around, somewhat confused, the remaining knife guy remarks as they slowly back up Knife thug: Did any of you bring bug spray? only for their leader to stomp their foot, apparently more used to this kind of business Leader: Just shoot the freak and they'll probably leave. Must be one of those fancy new hero types thinkin' they can boss people around. As for the grey-haired man, he remains sitting on the ground, looking up rather disinterestedly at the new arrivals grey-haired man: Just get out of here, this doesn't concern either of you. I can take care of myself. somewhat annoyed, one of the thugs shoots him in the side for his trouble, though the man hardly even flinches as the bullet goes into him. The leader smacks the culprit on the arm before pointing back to the girls Leader: Them first idiots, he's not going anywhere the men step into a defensive formation, leader and knife thug standing in front of their gun-toting allies to cover for them while they begin firing, for now they focus on Skitter, the more obvious threat, seems they know better than to give "freaks" a chance. Taking note of the giant robot falling from the sky, the leader simply remarks Leader: Do you really have absolutely nothing better to do than chase after random thugs for absolutely no reason? Seriously, you know, even the Yakuza have standards. We don't bring in fucking tanks to murder civilians just because
The girl laughs and rushes forward, her hammer would seem to grow in size for a moment before it begins spraying a wide cone of acid at the men, naturally, as the flow keeps on she'd rush forward into whatever passes for cover around here. Lucky for her, Termite's acid would quickly meltdown bullets and in a moment she's behind a rather thick wall... At the same time, several wasps would begin flying around behind them. Aiming to rush onto the gang's arms, legs, and necks, before stinging down hard and fast if they're able to land. Even as a huge cloud of ants flies toward them from the front and aims to fly onto the men's eyes. "I don't think I can boss people around! I know that I can! I've been beating up guys like you for a while so uh can't say I'm too scared by these odds, there's several thousand on my side and only five of you tops!"
Velvet would show some caution to the sudden appearance of the Taylor and the giant Robot. When she was about to charge in at the men she noticed the swarm attack them. Seeing as they weren't attacking her she would go after the one holding the bat since it was a weapon she was more familiar with. If she got close enough she give him a series of kicks and then swing her arm at the one with the gun in order to cut him with her hidden blade.
The man just shrugs when seeing the gray haired man get shot. Well... you should take a hint that well... I am just the law enforcement's... brutal side. Right Chryses? the giant robot gives him the thumbs up, signifying that the two enforces the law.
The four back away a little to make sure they're out of the range of Taylor's acid, only to end up trying to swat at the bugs around them. This of course provides Velvet with an easy opportunity to get close to the now distracted leader with a bat, striking him a few times and knocking him on his back, the man slowly starts to get back up as Velvet slashes at the nearest gun-holder's arm, not quite cutting it off, but causing more than enough pain for him to drop the weapon Injured Gun thug: What the... Bunch of freaks Leader: What a time we're in, can't even make an honest living any more The last thug in the back starts backing away, slowly lowering his gun while his anger rises Gun thug 2: T.... Total bullshit. What the hell are we even supposed to do anymore? Whole world's getting taken over by freaks. Right is wrong, nothing makes any sense... And we're supposed to stand here and take it? The gun wielder would fall backwards under the stings and his own frustration, muttering to himself for a moment. Velvet might notice a black mist beginning to rise from the man as he falls, which only begins to grow stronger. But she might find it a bad idea to focus on while the knife-holding man lunges at her chest, a little off balance from the pain, but still more than willing to try. Meanwhile, the grey-haired man slowly stands up, he seems rather disinterested in the whole scenario, listlessly commenting grey-haired man: You should seriously get out of here. All of you. I'm more than capable of fending for myself. Would rather not have any collateral if I can avoid it.
Taylor shrugs at that, he might well be... And that black mist is quite odd. "Yeah, but these guys are kinda my meal ticket ya know! It's about the only living I can make and hey, I'm pretty sure we can take care of ourselves too." With that, the wasps would take up another point of attack upon those who are still standing. This time around they're trying to rush straight up into the nose and ears of their foes. Assuming they were able to get close, they'd begin stinging at those far weaker areas as Taylor laughs a bit. "Aw come on, I'm pretty weak for a freak ya know! I even need the armor to resist bullets, just some weirdo who's only powers are bugs, and you guys are getting your asses kicked! Kinda sad, isn't it?"
He shoots the gun out of the thug's hand while the giant mech shoots a canister of breathable gel at him, the gel quickly freezes him in place. Chryses: Restraining gel set, local law enforcement and medical transport has been notified. Pilot: Thanks there Chryses, now then on with the next. He puts the rifle away and takes out his combat knife ready to fight the thugs.
Ignoring the grey haired man Velvet would do a back flip knocking the knife out of his hands with her foot causing what little balance he had to crumble. As soon as she land she would charge back in connecting her knee with his face. Afterwards she would look over at the man emitting the black mist. "Hoh~. Do you want to be devoured that badly." She would stand over him with a cruel smile as black smoke began to rise from her bandaged arm.
The mist-pouring thug's pistol is shot out of his hands, much to his further stress, he really hits his breaking point as Velvet easily knocks out his knife-wielding companion, only to begin advancing on him Misty-thug: S... Stay the hell away from me. Not a step... He doesn't get to finish that sentence before he gets covered in the holding gel. He is seemingly buried in a pile of the stuff as his remaining companions. the bat-wielding leader and the injured thug work to their feet and start to run, further driven by the pain Leader: I.. I've had enough of this freak show, I'm out Injured thug: Don't need to tell me twice. The grey-haired man breathes a sigh of relief as the situation is seemingly over. He lightly nudges the head of the guy Velvet knocked out at the fight's start with his foot, as though checking to see if he were still alive before looking around Grey-haired man: Well, guess its ending well enough. Looks like nothing was broken, and I doubt anyone'll die however, soon the holding gel begins to smoke as if some incredible heat were building deep within it, before finally it catches alight with a vicious dark flame, and begins to rapidly dissolve. As the gel dissapates, it appears the thug inside is completely gone. Instead replaced by a being of stone, its rocky humanoid form wreathed in a hellish flame with no hint of their humanity remaining. The firey being immediately lashes out, sending a stream of fire at its most immediate point of stress, Velvet Crowe.
The pilot take two steps back while his titan protects Velvet by shooting a stream of cryogenic ice at the flames from it's free hand. Chryses: Pilot Luke, the thugs are not human, not matching any organic and genetic composition. Luke: And they yell that we are the freaks...

Just as Velvet was about to walk away she heard the gel cracking and shattering behind her. She didn't need to see what was behind her to know what happened. She immediately dived to the side, landing on the ground on all fours as some of the fire had singed her shoulder. She had to thank the fact she had a resistance to fire later. She immediately leaped into the air in an acrobatic spin above the stone monstrosity as the bandages on her arm quickly deformed and seemed to burst open. A huge demonic claw revealing itself with black smoke rising from came down onto the rocky humanoid.
The girl reaches down to her belt and stares at this new foe, quickly taking some sort of capsule from it. She'd just sigh and pull in addition... A bottle of water. "Fine then, if you wanna play with monsters then I've got my own." One toss of the capsule into the water would in moments show what Skitter meant by that, the bottle breaking instantly as a huge grasshopper with what appear to be organic Gatling guns atop its head takes shape where the bottle was. Black and red shell covering its body, a natural armor that looks far tougher than any grasshopper has a right to be. Along with being bigger than your usual large vans. After staring down the thing for a moment it would rush forward, aiming the weapons on its head at the thing and firing them rapidly as large bits of chitin shaped bullets fly towards the thing it was staring down. "I wonder if that thing is a demon? Almost feels like something Femt might cook up, but I doubt he'd waste time on such small fry as these."
The pilot's ice meets the being's flames, preventing it from catching the buildings around it alight in its attempts to eliminate Velvet, much to the being's annoyance, though it seems more focused on its attacker. Even now it seems to be slowly backing away, as though scared of her, but its nowhere near as fast as she is. The being's flames scorch Velvet's claw as she rips through it and slams down its rocky core, effectively pinning it against the ground. It seems somewhat desperate as its dark fire flares up once more in hopes of driving away its captor The grey-haired man watches this with some vague semblance of interest, only remarking Grey-haired man: Monsters here too? And what happened to.... before he finishes the thought Taylor finishes bringing out her demon bug friend, which rushes past the man, firing wildly in the direction of the firey being, its bullets spraying at both the entity and its captor, Velvet. Though he might not be fully aware of the situation, the man's reflexes kick in when a giant monster flies past him while attacking someone. He lunges forwards, grabbing onto one of the insect's hind-legs as it jumps, and using it to slam the grasshopper into a wall, though he manages to avoid actually breaking anything. The man seems much more awake now, angry even as he scolds her Grey-haired man: Maybe you should try paying attention when you're fighting. Set monsters wild like that and you're going to cause collateral. I don't care how weak it is.
Wild? The thing is hardly wild... She's just not that worried right now. The human eater can take care of herself. "I'm not sure what you're thinking, but it's under control... Granted, I could stand to worry about the damage to the area a bit more I guess. But it's not as though my aim is bad enough to hit her or something." She'd gesture to the woman near their foe, despite the fairly rapid and wild nature of the things shots true to SKitter's word they would, in fact, miss her, at the cost of flying a bit wider from the target to evade Velvet that is. "Anyways, I realize that the fact I'm in control of this thing may not have been clear from the start... But I can assure you, if it's an insect then I'm it's puppet master." Despite his attack on the thing, the grasshopper would, in fact, ignore the gray-haired man entirely and stop firing. Aiming to close in on their foe and try to take it down from close range, hopefully with less damage caused to everything else. Despite her remarks, Skitter will at least take his words into consideration.
Velvet would at first show some alarm to the objects flying past her but her instincts screamed at her. She would keep the creature pinned to the ground enduring the pain the fire brought her as she began to drink deep of its power. She had begun a much needed feast that would only take moments provided nothing else happened. As she feasted on this fiery demon she would feel the flames heat weaken as her own wounds quickly healed.
Taking the man's advice, he searches for the weak spot of the flames while he slides a med-pack and stim to him. If I were a living bundle of flames... what is my weakness? He soon sees the little rock humanoid and signals his titan then points at it. Luke: Chryses blast that piece of rock! Chryses: Understood Pilot. Disengaging safety locks on Laser Shot Ordinance. The a little cannon emerges behind the left shoulder of the mech and takes aim at the rock humanoid and soon the cannon fires a condensed beam at it.
grey-haired man: You really just didn't take a second to think huh? Recklessness isn't going to get you much. But at least it looks like you can't hurt the place that.... as Taylor's bullets fly wide of the person perched directly above it, so too do they miss the firey humanoid beneath her. Its initial lunge forward proves fruitless as the grey-haired man keeps a firm grip on its back leg, unless you think it can rip that off easily. Though his grip would loosen enough for it to escape as he watches Velvet and the Pilot, allowing it to move forward about in time with Chryses's laser. Grey-haired man: What is she? a valid question to ask as the girl works to drain away any energy the firey being had, it struggles at first, but its flames begin to die out, soon leaving only its rocky core. By the time the pilot fires Velvet would have been able to eat most of it, unfortunately her position over the being leaves her directly in line of the laser beam. Whether she takes the hit to finish it off, or dodges out of the way to let Chryses finish it, the firey being would finally grow cold, before its rocky shell dissolves, leaving the man it used to be lifeless on the ground
Chryses: Hostile Threat Neutralized. Vital signs are negative, this hostile is dead. The cannon soon coils back down into it's holster while the pilot simply shrugs as he puts his combat knife away. Luke: Shame... his fault that he was like this, weather by accident or not. No way to change it too, negotiation is way out of the picture.
Can't hurt the place that badly? It'd be best not to point out the small craters where her shots flew off to. Or the fact that the thing was actually holding back with that. Even so, he has a point to an extent... She's used to working alone, in that this move would have worked... On the other hand, seems as though it was unneeded entirely given who's along for the ride. "I only have a slight guess as to what she is, but from what I can tell she's very strong, very angry, and always hungry..." Below her mask the girl would smirk a bit, her voice turning oddly cheerful despite the grim words coming from it. "In short, she's the sort of person I really don't want to get on the bad side of." She'd then call out to the woman as the demonic grasshopper moves toward her, simply walking rather than making any move to attack. "Oi Velvet, do what you will with the bug. These things aren't built to live for long anyway and I can't reuse it, so hey if you can get some use from it no reason not to." Termite's a bit fuller, the despair of those people as they realized just how helpless they were... It was delightful, and even as she stands there Skitter's bugs would dig through the remaining gangsters to search for anything of value.
Velvets instincts screamed at her as she tore her hand from the creatures body and quickly jumped back only barely dodging the beam as it struck the stony colossus. She understood it was an attack to kill and even more so that if it would have hit her she would have been badly wounded. Her anger boiled as the black smoke from the arm began to rise. She glared at the robot as if it had someone inside it. "Trying to kill me along with that daemon? Big mistake." she growled before leaping onto a wall and practically doing triangle jumps to reach the machine named Chryses.
The girl sighs and looks up towards Velvet, super strength to be jumping around like that. She'd shout up at her new... Hmm, possible ally? If nothing else, the woman is good to have around in a fight. "Fighting that thing isn't worth the time, even if you take it down there's very little to gain. Save for the satisfaction of crushing something which thinks itself strong. And hey, that's always good by me but..." She'd glance up at the thing, Termite eying it a bit even in his hammer form. There's just one issue, the damned thing's got no despair to devour. Even the most cheerful person has a tinge to them, but that's just empty. "It isn't even alive, the thing is likely being controlled by some firing program that doesn't have you marked as a friendly. No meals to be had there for anyone from what I can tell."
Chryses walks back as his pilot walks to Velvet Chryses: Apologies ma'am, it was viable tactic. Probability of hitting you was unexpected. Luke: Seriously he didn't mean to hit you. We just didn't expect it to happen. We apologize.
She's a monster then. The grey-haired man drily notes as he continues watching Velvet. With the way she's going the girl might end up causing quite a bit more trouble, but then again his own attempts to stop her might be even worse. And he really wasn't planning on fighting today anyways. The man watches her leap over him towards the robot. They're talking an awful lot about power aren't they? Like they even know what it means. For now, he simply walks towards Velvet I appreciate the assistance, but it seems like the fight's over, at least he's not too hostile. He tries anything funny, and I'll handle it myself, alright?
Velvet would stop as she came to the same level as Chryses before she heard Taylors words and then the pilot. She would then look back to the giant metal man and sniff it. "No blood?" after tapping it with her free hand she would realize what they said was true. "It really doesn't have anything inside it. This world continues to get stranger." she'd mumble to herself before quickly jumping down to ground level and heading Taylors words. Her arm would grab the giant grasshopper and like the fiery daemon from earlier drain it into a husk of its former self. Feeling only a fraction of her hunger receding before her arm returned to normal, bandages magically wrapped around it once more. She would turn to Taylor. "Can't say I expected to run into you again so soon."
Luke: Reason why he has no blood is that he's a machine, as in my titan. Chryses: Correct. I am a experimental Vanguard grade Titan under the product name Ion from Hammond Robotics. Frontier Militia has given me the name of Northstar Chryses IV. My pilot is~ Luke: Lieutenant of the Frontier Militia, Luke Swisshelm and by your arm some really fucked up event happened. Hope it's better then having it hacked off as a trophy... The pilot points to Velvet's arm as he shows his own cybernetic arm.
