Deck of many things: Luck of the draw
Disclaimer: there is a chance that any character might die
and also decks of many things are true cancer and with that, let it begin!
In an empty part of the park someone set up a table with a deck of cards on it.
An almost comical amount of flame erupts from the center of the park, heating the area up significantly yet somehow failing to do anything more than that. At least not until it slowly starts growing smaller, revealing a man in casual clothes, curiously looking around the area. After a couple minutes, he spots the table and floats closer, his feet aflame. "Well now, haven't seen something like this before. Mind explaining for me?"
Silence. A little movement can be seen under the table cloth however.

The man raises an eyebrow at the lack of response, only noticing the movement after looking down at the cards once more. Driven onwards by curiosity, he crouches and grabs onto the table cloth, raising it slightly while humming idly.
You see Alex who immediately says, "Hello!" As if nothing was odd about it and then follows up with, "You should draw a card."
The man blinks a couple times, his expression unchanging. Slowly, he lowers the table cloth and whispers some sort of chant or prayer in another language before once again raising the cloth to look at Alex. "May I ask why you are under this cloth, sir? Or perhaps what exactly this whole..." He motions to the table and the cards with his free hand. "Thing is?"
"Work. This legitimately is my job. For today"

*There a sound of distant yelling and running as a javelin flies at Apollo.*
Alex immediately fires Eldritch blast at whoever did that on reflex, thinking that he was the target
"Doesn't really answer my question and only creates more but i'm beyond the point of caring anymore." He sighs, and for a moment a little fire erupts from his mouth before his exasperation ends and his hand reaches out, hanging above the deck of cards for a moment before lowering and grabbing onto one at random and slapping it onto the table face down. "So, what's the deal with the cards?" He casually lets go of the card and falls to the ground, letting the javelin fly over him before rising once more. "Good to see you too!"
*Asha approaches the table, calling her javelin back to her.* It has been too long, Nemisis. But like the sun you threw at me, my grudges are like fire that, unlike that sun, won't burn out. Now! Prepare to d- *Asha looks at the cards. She rests her javelin on her shoulder.* Ok. I'll ask. What are you doing now?
"Magic cards. Make stuff happens." and with that, Alex lay down.

I would... prefer a better explanation.
"I'm afraid i'm not in the mood for warfare right now, plus, it'd be a bit of a shame to throw another sun at this place, with all it's beauty!" Apollo motions to the general vicinity in a dramatic fashion before looking back at Alex upon his explanation. "Yes, i'm afraid i've come upon one too many magic encounters of the lethal variety to continue with just that explanation."

"Well these cards have a variety of wonderous effects, for instance, one guy drew The Sun and got a zombie slaying mace, and then he used it to attack me. In fact, I will draw right now!" Alex draws a card, but doesn't look at it right away
"Ah, magical Tarot! Now that i've seen before, as many varieties as there are Asha's attempts to murder me and more!" Apparently this was the thing that first came to mind when Apollo thought of 'A lot'. "Regardless, while I would advocate the rule of allowing ladies to go first-" Mostly to test how high the chance of death would be. "-I do believe i've already drawn a card!" He slaps his hand up against the card he left on the table, grabbing it but not yet looking at it either.
Hmmph. Magical artifacts are usually avoided in my profession, but I will humour you fools. *Asha draws a card.*
Asha drew the Empress or gem! Suddenly something hard would hit her. It was a diamond! It would start raining diamonds in a semi-lethal fashion while Apollo's card would start glowing.
Woah! *Asha starts spinning her javelin in the air above her head. The diamonds split into dust, before regaing their usual forms on the ground around her.* WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?!?
Apollo would take a moment to look at Asha's card for a moment only to look up and immediately dash out of the way of the gemstones, leaving a trail of agitated flames in the air that dissipate in a couple seconds, looking back at her and chuckling. "Well, the Empress, somehow, I find that vaguely fitting!" He'd say more but he didn't feel confident in the strings of fate to keep some sort of hidden insult in his words. Only after all that, does he take in the effect of his own card, eyes squinting to make out which one it is below all the glowing.
"Your diamonds." Alex would try taking one, before revealing his card, Death. "Also the glowing is indicative of that it wants you to flip it."

"Not a fan of the extra steps. All the suspense usually means it's either the greatest or the worst and i'm most certainly not enough confident in my luck for it to be the former." Sighing once more, Apollo places the card inbetween two fingers and flips it around casually, keeping it at a distance to his face. Just in case.
*Asha points her javelin at Apollo* Shut up you. *She then looks to Alex* Death. If mine was falling diamonds, I don't see that being good for your health.
"Surprise muthafucka!" The card suddenly yells and flies into his face, while another card would appear in his hand. On the other side of the table, what looked like the grim reaper appeared, though it was just standing there, not doing anything. "Well you don't know what I am, Miss

With the reflexes only a man/god expecting the world to fuck him over in a million different ways could have, Apollo's free hand instantly extends, engulfing both him and the card in flames. "What." His flat tone doesn't exactly fit with the firestorm currently raging with him as it's center. "Was that?" He doesn't even pay attention to the javelin pointed at him or the personification of death currently lingering next to Alex.
"I don't know...." Alex tries to hide his laughter but fails
The glare directed towards Alex can be vaguely described as having the fury of a hundred supernovas exploding at the same time. After a brief moment of unbearable heat and considered murder, the flames around Apollo slowly die out as he sighs and shakes his head. "That, good sir, was a dick move." Regardless, Apollo looks down at the card held between his fingers curiously, his other hand raised and ready to incinerate it at any moment.
*Asha chuckles to her self.* Aww. What's the matter, Nemisis? Scared by a little loud noise? Heh heh heh.
"well, that card was meant to surprise instead of kill, but ok. Also, that is the only card that can be broken without activating it's effect" Alex smiles back at Apollo Apollo drew The Hanged Man or donjon! The ground rumbles for a second.

Chains come from the ground and attempt to grab Apollo. These chains are not metal, but are made of an ethereal substance.
Several tiny explosions go off around Asha, like louder firecrackers, powered by pure irritation. "I'll have you know that the ability to react at the slightest instigation saved my life plenty of times, along with making sure my visage remains as undeniably handsome as it is right now!" Apollo huffs dramatically running a hand through his hair only to stop and immediately fly upwards at the mere sound of something coming from under him, eyes widening upon seeing the chains. "Oh come on! What the hell is this?"
*At the sounds of the explosions, Asha screams unusually girlishly for her usual personality. She soon straitens herself out.* I despise you, Polly. I REALLY do.
The chains coil themselves around all of Apollo's appendages while a rift forms. The reaper, taps Alex on the shoulder and they begin to fight, Alex with a pair of odd knives, and the skeleton with a large scythe.
Apollo would take a moment to laugh at Asha were it not for these god forsaken chains grabbing onto him. "What the fuck is this?" The damned heat comes back as Apollo is engulfed in flames, which soon turn gold. From intense experimentation, most magical objects fail to stand up to this fire. If this doesn't solve his problem, then there's going to be a problem. "I swear to myself, if this thing drags me to some other dimension or the goddamn underworld, somebody here is going to be incinerated!"
I'm not helping. Watching and laughing as you die knowing I could stop it is just as good as killing you myself.
Metal footsteps rapidly approach- then stop. The new arrival's knight helmet obscures his face, but he's clearly... baffled. What.
"Well? Draw a card!" The flames have no effect on the chains and now are pulling him into the rift. Alex moves the fight away from Apollo and guards

Thought this died. After an increased amount of struggling with complimentary insults and curses towards Alex's bloodline, Apollo stops struggling and waits to see where he'll end up. He's confident enough in his abilities to fight and he's not yet gone to an underworld he couldn't escape. In the meanwhile though, many, many fire balls appear from nowhere and fly at Alex. Why? Because Apollo needs someone to be set on fire in order to vent. "Go Death!"
Alex is hit with all three of them and is now busy rolling on the ground. Apollo is sent to a extradimensional prison, where he is in suspended animation.
James walks up to the table. Hello Alex. What's going on here?
lol Alex is busy being on fire, so he doesn't respond
James summons a water nuke to put out the fire. The amount of metal is a bit too much but who cares?
