i'd probably make it based on dreams. i feel like things such as lucid dreaming could work well with the whole shadows aspect of the persona series also there’s that thing in which people dreaming they got hurt actually waking up to pain and the like, it could be a plot point it would definitely have a vaporwave aesthetic if i were to design it

In all honesty, if I would make persona game it would take place in the past, probably around the Edo period of Japan. Maybe for a turning point if it explaining how shadows and personas being covered up through out history. With every character being an ancestor of one of the persona characters. Also like @Zenith idea it being about dreams and having a murder plot like p4, i.e. the victim having nightmares before they die and at the end everyone having it (conquering it gives persona) and what not. With only gay options
