P3FES is if you care about a challenge, P3P is if you care about enjoying the story.

p3 fes is an improved version of p3, and has a sort of epilogue, "the answer". p3p is similar to p3 but with a couple tweaks and added things, like fem protag and sebastian, but gameplay is also slightly different. by playing p3p you aren't missing anything really, but if you want to play "the answer", you'd need fes.

For me personally I would recommend P3P, P3 FES doesn't really add much imo. I'll lay out what there is though. Iirc P3 FES just adds the answer, which is... Not a very good expansion imo. If you really want to see it, just look up a play through. Otherwise you get full motion cutscenes with the character models which is nice, and some gameplay differences. Which are not being able to control party members and using any weapon on MC. With P3P you lose the motion cutscenes in place for Visual Novel text boxs. Which isn't too bad imo, you do get FMC, which is nice if you replay the game, and you get full control of party members. You don't lose much if you play either story wise. But gameplay wise P3FES is much less forgiving then P3P.
