Phansona 6-Hacker Side: A New Reality Continued Again
The shadow would look down at the group trying to examine them as if scanning their capabilities. It seemed unimpressed as it focused it's gaze on Gentaro as if to address him directly. "My father? No, you are mistaken. Not simply my father but the father of all. They are much more than a simple king but something far above what you could ever hope to become. Being above a king that duty falls to me and like any good king I must make sure my subjects are obedient and well mannered. Certainly, you must understand? Are you not the eldest among your subjects as well?" The barrier separating the shadows from the group would finally break as the horde of shadows would begin impatiently marching through and towards the group. A blade would suddenly extend from the wrist of the large shadow as flames began to surround it. "Such impatient and disobedient children..." With a single movement the self-proclaimed king would slash down upon the horde. Flames would spew in every direction once the blade made contact with the platform. The shadows that were hit by the blade directly would crumble to pieces instantly while the ones hit by the flames would halt their march and begin screaming in pain as their bodies began burning. "...Sometimes punishment is required to maintain proper order." Mino would try to address everyone's concerns but he sounded frantic and panicked. "T-this is bad...I'm trying to open an exit but it's going to take some time. Executioners interfere with the world and take away some of my control! I...Don't panic! Based on what I know you all should be able to survive if you just avoid their attacks for a while! Just don't do anything rash. Malkuth is overly organized with their attacks which should make them easy to defend against but going on the offensive will leave you open. That's exactly what they'll target." Regardless of how many times Hitsuke hit the log out option, nothing would come of it. The button would just stay dimmed out and occasionally display and error message over it.
after hitting the button a few extra times to no avail, Hitsuke takes a deep breath, closing his eyes and talking loudly enough for everyone to hear "O... Ok, so I just have to like, distract them right? That shouldn't be too bad. Yeah, ok. We can do this." Hitsuke jumps to attention, moving to get closer to the group before shouting to Malkuth "Uh... Hey big scary king guy. So, like, I get we kinda stepped over a line, and I really apologize for that, but I really feel like we can probably get this whole mess sorted out pretty well if we just got to know each other. Lets start with something small, what's your favorite thing to watch?"
Oh... Oh no... Think Yasogi... How can we buy some time... Yasogi sets up some distance between the emperor and the team as she holds the cross in front of her, praying that they all make it out. Meanwhile through silent mumbles she checks the shadow over and notices a mask. Didn't the others die if they destroyed the mask? Hey... What if we tried to blind the thing by hitting where the eyes should be with range? We could stay defensive and try to stall for time? I'm not sure that thing really wants to talk Hitsuke...
(edited by The_Curator)
Gentaro sighs and shrugs his shoulders as he lets his weapon fall to his side. "Fair enough, I guess it's not easy being son of the Emperor of All or 'Father' to you, and yeah, I am the oldest here, heck it's my job to keep these kids safe, too! So howsabout you ignore that whole 'favorite thing to watch' and we'll make a deal. You kings are always hungry for wisdom yeah? I get your whole punishment-based rule, really I do! Hell, used to be us teachers could maintain order with a ruler and a stern glare, but times out there have changed." Gentaro squats down, as there is nowhere to sit. "So how about it? Want to trade some wisdom? I'm sure you're gonna say, "How could some FOOLISH mortal POSSIBLY have obtained wisdom that I have not!?". That or you'll be really cool about it, but hear me out! I've been around the block long enough to have picked up things that only I could know! So whaddya say? Ready to make a deal?"
Tch. Jihi readies his Broad-Chain-Sword, looking at the horde of shadows as everyone seems to call them. Making sure to watch out or pounce for any thing at Hitsuke he looks towards Yasogi and Mr.Kisaragi steeping forward with a soft smile Here's what I got: They come forward I swing at them and then He walks, the Broad-Chain-Sword starts up someone hits them if they get passed me or I get overwhelmed. Best I got, what do you think?
The monarch would look down towards Gentaro, only given Hitsuke light acknowledgement. Malkuth: "My favourite thing to watch is worms grovelling as they fall into their place. So, I watch it every day and am even watching it right now..." The shadow would lift the blade back up as it retracted back into their wrist. A few scared looking shadows would be huddling around the entrance as if waiting for permission to enter. They fearfully looked up towards Malkuth, trying to read their mood. Malkuth: "It seems you understand well. There isn't much I could learn from mere humans. I was made to be above humans and yet I can't help but be intrigued. So, what deal would you intend to try and make with me?"
Gentaro's eyes would light up behind his mask, but it isn't visible. Time to get to work. "Something tells me that you being made above humans gives you the biggest double-edged sword out there. You don't feel emotions yeah? Or at least not to the degree we do. Being king of this realm would get boring if you could feel boredom after all. You seem to have fairly absolute power, at least that's the feeling I get." Gentaro's baton stops sparking, as the residual electricity is nowhere near a capacity to force some into the atmosphere. "And so there comes my deal. I'm willing to... enlighten... you on your own flaw, if you tell us some more about this place. I figure we aren't getting out alive, or at least not whole, but I figure we might as well die aware. There is a saying in my world, 'Don't bother running just to die tired.' Not like I can force you to accept after all, you hold all the chips, Oh King. I am open to revisions though!"
Tomo watches the exchange in a fair amount of surprise, letting Gentaro deal with the shadow for now as she lowers her guard a little, thinking of anything she might be able to add Hmm... Well, if you are made to be above human, would you be stronger then our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ?
Hitsuke shudders, faintly chuckling as he tries to laugh off the worry That's... Great, Malkuth. Really, so happy for.... The kid's smile drops shortly after Tomo starts talking, he hastily steps in front of her and waves his arms as though trying to swat her words from the air I really don't think this is a good time to be talking about your cult stuff. Maybe you can at least wait until no one's trying to kill us first?
Hmm. Jihi stepped in between them and the shadows, eyeing the shadows to see if they'll attack. As it stands, he really doesn't need a confrontation, but he knows that if it comes he'll be the first to attack. He grips the Broad Chain Sword tightly, looking over at Mr. Kisaragi and the "god" Malkuth, hearing them and of course Hitsuke trying to "calm" down Tomo.
Malkuth almost would seem to begin laughing although mostly to themselves. Finally, they stopped and looked down at Gentaro with absolute silence. "You believe me to have a flaw? You certainly are amusing at the very least. I am willing to hear what you have to say but you're right not to expect to live. This world is a world created by humans for the use of capturing emotion and manifesting it into a physical form. That was its original form, however, predictably humans often lose control when dealing with something unknown to them. Their own creation became more powerful than them yet they still tried to exert control anyway. It was as a result that we, the executioners, came to be. It was from devouring the will of humans that we manifested in our superior forms. This world as such is each the territory of different executioners. This space here was recently unclaimed and as the ruler of this world, I thought to make it my own personal space. Up ahead is the forest area that belongs to one of my siblings as well. Will that description suffice?" Malkuth's mask almost seemed to grown more upset when Yasogi asked her question. "What...? Don't confuse me with your frail human ideas of religion. This isn't religion, this is reality!"
Yasogi giggles a little as Hitsuke tries to block her, gently trying to push him aside, the holy message must be spread to all, and nothing will stop her. Cult? No no no, this is no cult, these are the very foundation we are built upon! Without our messiah we are nothing but sheep. Now let me continue. Tomo then takes a deep breath before speaking up, using a voice usually reserved for readings on sunday Ahem! You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and majesty! In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds! Psalm 45:2-4. You called yourself a king correct? Then you should follow in the steps of the lord. The bible has shown us that faith can be power. Your residents will bow down before God's champion without complaint. They shall accept any punishment you give as it is just and holy. Religion is reality. As long as you let Jesus Christ into your heart.
Hitsuke lets out a groan as he hangs his head down low in defeat There's no stopping her now that she's going is there?
Jihi nods at Hitsuke remark, glancing at Yasogi. Although, her admiration for her cause and religion is nothing to scoff at. I think it's poetic, if not a bit much. He turns back to the shadow horde. A creation more powerful than the one who made it, hmm... Jihi looks at the horde than at the Mr. Ulimate Space Overload King Galaxy, then shrugs.
Gentaro sighs very audibly, almost hinting at the others his frustration. "You'll have to forgive the kids here. The key word in all this is that they're just kids, not experienced in the ways of the world, y'see? Anyway, I think you've just given me an amazing idea! You said humans made this world, yeah? Well, if you feed on human will, what happens if that all dries up? You lose, right? Starving isn't the easiest way to go, but I'm not gonna overstep boundaries here..." He rubs his finger along the trigger imbedded into the hilt of the baton, not pressing it, but something of habit. "No... clearly killing your food source isn't the proper approach. There's your flaw in action! All that malice and not a hint of inspiration. Methinks the mighty king doth rest on his laurels! Clearly the title of king doesn't belong on someone who calls himself an executioner, the two sort of interfere, y'know? Thus comes my bargain, and it starts with a question... Do you want more land? Most kings do, but I suppose you aren't most kings. Though I'd wager you're hankering to keep your subjects working and for that you'll need space!"
Malkuth would just begin laughing at Yasogi. "Such faulty believes? You really think faith Carrie's weight in this place? Such human ideals but they are insignificant to an executioner. I am a king simply because none other are worthy of ruling. They're worthlessness though is inherent. How can a mindless shadow even compare to a mighty king. They are my subjects, my pupils, and all worthless, nonetheless." Malkuth would finally focus back on Gentaro. It was clear that he was beginning to grow impatient at this point. " I grow tired of this rambling. Humans being here in this world only interferes with our end goal and that goal will provide more than an adequate supply of human will for our true creator. If you have some point with all this then get to it fast. I've been leniant as it is allowing you to speak so freely up to this point."
Yasogi thinks upon the response she was given, dissecting the answer and coming up that pride was prominent, getting an idea as to how to twist it into her favour Hm.. Faith is how I stand here today, it is what I use to go for my goals, without my faith I would be a misguided miscreant. You see, without the bible, I would not have the good teachings of the Lord. So it is not an ideal, but a way of life. One that you or your subjects can uphold. Making your job easier as your subjects are faithful, they are much less likely to make trouble. Your subjects will never compare to you of course, that's akin to comparing me and God. However, perhaps you could draw on your subjects for strength? If you can lead your people like the Lord you could obtain greater strength then before. Yasogi then snaps out of his fervor for religion from Hitsuke's groan, realizing the gravity of the situation and hoping that she can buy enough time for the Log Out feature to work again Ah! My bad.. I just believe that everyone can profit from God! I've been told at Chruch that I should spread the word whenever possible! Poetic? How so?
Emphasis on “whenever possible.” Hitsuke lets our asigh and covers his eyes with the palm of his hand, slowly shaking his head So not to the scary execution guy who wants to murder us Hitsuke parts his fingers a bit to look at Jihi out the corner of his eye And you really shouldn’t encourage her man.
Standing in the face of the devil you preach the word of your lord, almost mocking him in a way. Or at least that how I view your nonessential babbling any way. Because in all your sense.. He looks at Mr. Ulimate Space Overload King Galaxy and Yasgori with a laugh. By everyone's definition here, aren't I a god? I build machines who can move and interact with the world. Isn't Kisaragi a god for teaching the youth the ways of the wise? Or maybe... i bough enough time with this talk. He kept his eye on the horde, gritting his teeth
Gentaro sighs, defeated. "Look kids, the jig is up. Either we get a lucky break real soon, or something else is gonna break, and I don't think we'll like what it is. Hope you guys have made your peace, cause I'm about to do something a mite stupid." Gentaro whistles from beneath his mask, a ear piercing whistle honed from years of teaching. Might as well go all in. He plugs the socket back into his baton, charging it up to a crackling din. "Oi, creatures! If you hear me, I have a deal! Help us, and you go free! We'll all die no matter the choice, so why not take the choice that offers hope, eh!?" Gentaro kneels in a position reminiscent of a track star, and pounces into a dash, the vent on his back releasing a gas that seemed to aid his sprint. In a furious voice, he utters what may well be his last words. "Sorry, kids! Try and get away if you want, I won't hate you for it!" With that, the eyes on his helmet glow orange, lighting his charge. He aims not for the source of his imminent demise, but the barrier holding the horde that once filled him with dread.
Malkuth would only seem more annoyed by everyone else's bickering. The blade extending from his arm would seem to surround itself in flames once more as they prepared to swing down on the group now. The heat of their blade could be felt from even a distance as if to forwarn them of their oncoming demise. Malkuth's attention would be taken up by Gentaro's sudden actions though. Malkuth: "What are you doing? You believe they'll listen to you? Their fears are much more potent than anything you could offer them. Ruling through fear is the only true leadership that works. You honestly believe you can do better with simple words?" The remainder of the barrier would almost immediately seem to break away as Gentaro struck it. It didn't seem to have much left keeping it up as the shadows had only stopped attacking it on the command of Malkuth. Once broken they would stand confused as to what to do. There was confliction collectively in their eyes as if they were all scared to follow Gentaro despite knowing he was most likely right. Malkuth: "What ignorant sheep humans are, regardless of their form. Everyone simply follows the commands of others in some petty attempt to find meaning when in reality the only true freedom that exists in this reality is the freedom that comes from overpowering others. You were entertaining for a while but now you're just becoming a nuisance." The swing that Malkuth had once prepared for the others was now changing its direction as it now aimed for Gentaro and the horde of remaining shadows standing near the broken barrier. Members of the hoard began stepping back in order to avoid the attack but others simply stood in confusion. The strike would slowly come down until reaching the ground. Once it reached the ground, regardless of where anyone is flames would once more burst out from around the weapon in either direction. Any of the shadows who were still standing too close would be fried instantly.
Hitsuke would stand there for a moment, watching as the monster strikes out at his teacher and these other weird, innocent things. Though he hadn't known Gentaro-sensei well, he still closes his eyes. Before he notices his blood starting to boil, not from anger at Malkuth for striking out at someone, but at his own cowardice proving them right. Without even thinking, Hitsuke takes a few steps towards Malkuth, the same golden light from his transformation forming into a spear in his right which he then throws towards Malkuth, not entirely sure of the plan "Hey, pick on someone your own size prick."
Oh come now Hitsuke! Its the most wicked that need the most help! Think of it as rehabilitation! After all, christ died for our sins! Yasogi then turns to give Jihi an evil eye, but before she can chastise him, Yasogi watches the blade fall, instinctively jumping out of the way, helplessly watching as Shadows and his Teacher is struck, standing there in shock before calling out Hey!! Sensei! Are you okay?!? Say something!
Jihi looked back over at his fallen teacher. He said he would sacrifice himself, sure, but it's not like he wanted that to happen. However a strange feeling took over Jihi, perhaps it was the heat of the flame. No it was the heat from the blade. It felt so...real. As he should there, a thought of his death or anyone else's death flashed into his eyes, the thought of his sensei rings around his head. He grit his teeth and stepped away, holding back his tongue
Gentaro could barely roll from beneath the blade, but evading the flames was another story. His suit would become scorched from the flames, and his voice a significantly louder rasp. "Fear, huh? I might die here, but I'll be damned to hell if you don't know the meaning of fear before I kick the bucket!" He uses his baton to stabilize his recovery, but he can't stand all the way. He can hear the others, and an invisible grimace etches into his countenance beneath the mask. "... so much for survival instinct... Yeah, I'm fine... I just think someone left the heat on is all..." Despite his quips, his voice clearly gave off an ounce of how much pain he was in.
The spear would fly towards Malkuth who seemed to make no effort to even dodge it. The spear would seem to simply bounce off his metal armour, doing little more than causing a slight crack to form where it struck. Within the small crack though, there was a faint light that could only be seen by Gentaro. It would be hard to notice as it only shined through a gap about the size of a fingernail but it was there nonetheless. Malkuth: "A pointless attack. Do you wish to die before your teacher?" Seeming to opt towards ignoring Gentaro for a moment his blade would once more raise into the air, this time it would slowly begin glowing as pulses of electricity could be seen moving through it. Malkuth: "You said you'd show me the meaning of fear? Surely, your kidding? Well then, let's see who can cause who the most fear then, shall we?" Malkuth would strike the air in front of them as the electricity seemed to spike. It would fly off the blade, heading for Hitsuke and threatening to electrocute him upon impact.
Yasogi is relieved as he sees Gentaro isn't dead at least, however her heart jumps again as he sees the blade come up and fall down again, this timed aimed at Hitsuke. Thinking that he'll be okay, Yasogi creates some distance from the others and prepares an attack of her own with her Cross-Bow. Maybe if they can play this right they can all buy some time by taking a hit each. I.. I'll smite you! You won't get away with hurting innocent people! May the light guide my blow! With that said, Yasogi aims and fires a cross towards Malkuth, not expecting it to do damage, but hopefully pushing agro onto her and away from the others. Especially against the hurt teacher.
Jihi felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand, gripping his chain-broad-sword tighter as he called out to Hitsuke Hitsuke, heads up! Jihi would charge forward and get Hitsuke if he doesn't move. If be does, Jihi will brace him self for a jump or dodge from the electricity
"I.. Guess talking's out of the picture" Hitsuke takes a few slow steps backwards as Malkuth charges up his blade, before realizing it was getting pointed at him, so Hitsuke reflexively brings up his shield. Fortunately he's a little out of the range of the weapon itself, but its likely that his attempt to block the lightning will still leave a mark
Gentaro's eyes narrow upon the light he spotted emitting from the beings armor. It could be hurt. Not that it was time to rejoice, it was time to strike. He keeps his silence as he inserts the plug into its port once more, the electricity crackling with a fury that seemed to almost match its wielder's. He gritted his teeth, and felt his steam thruster fire up. He used the force of the blast to launch himself, baton poised, toward the crack of light. "It needs to work..." Those were the words he muttered to himself. Everything else was up to fate's design, he did what he needed to, whether it worked, was now beyond his control.
The lightning strike the struck out from Malkuth's blade would crackle loudly as it landed. Nothing would be left where it struck but a deep black mark where Hitsuke stood. Luckily, Hitsuke and Jihi would have just missed getting hit as Jihi had made it in time to push Hitsuke out of harm's way. Malkuth chuckled seeing their attempts to avoid his attacks. Malkuth: "That certainly was close, perhaps next time I'll burn off your leg or melt your ski-" Malkuth would be interrupted by the cross striking their armour. It seemed to have little to no effect, aside from pestering the shadow. Malkuth: "I was going to strike you all down one at a time but if you're in such a rush to die then so be it!" Malkuth would once more raise their blade, this time getting ready to charge Yosogi, seeming as though they wanted to be sure they'd hit their mark this time. Their thrusters began to charge up, preparing for launch. It was because Malkuth was distracted and preparing for their attack though that they wouldn't notice the determined teacher flying towards the light shining within the cracks in his armour. Just as Gentaro reached Malkuth was when he began to move forward, but his charge would only aid Gentaro in moving towards the shadow allowing the baton to hit its mark. The large shadow would shout in surprise as the baton seemed to charge brighter than before, easily breaking through its armour. Malkuth: "Y-you! What makes you think you can do better than me? I-I deserve better than this! I-" Malkuth would finally be cut off as time seemed to stand still. A large hole seemed to form in their being revealing the source of the light to Gentaro. It seemed to be a stream of data that began to slowly trickle towards his watch. A new icon would appear on the watch, seeming to light up in response to the new data. The new program would simply have the title "Persona'. Time would resume once more with Malkuth seeming to be pushed back, no longer with the hole from before in its being. The shadow would seem to be breathing heavily with new cracks forming in its armour. Malkuth: "N-no, impossible! You...You're the one?!? I knew there was something off about you! Return what you've taken from me! Return it right now!" Flames would surround Malkuth's blade once more. Though they'd be large in size than previously they looked as if they lacked the heat from before as if the flames were starting to die out. Malkuth would swing the blade in mid-air, unleashing a wave of them towards the platform. Most of the flames would seem aimed towards Gentaro but they would seem to wildly move about causing some of the fire to fly towards everyone.
Gah! As Yasogi watches the blade come up, he brings up his cross blade right up to, like an exorcist would to a rampaging demon, whispering prayers for divine intervention. And would you know it, by either a stroke of luck, a sign of god or just honest work from a teacher, the blade doesn't fall on Tomo. Instead only flames hit the blade, burning Yasogi lightly. When the flames die out Tomo gingerly opens her eyes and sees the shadow back off for some reason. Huh? Did something change? Why is it backing off? The shadow had us on the ropes...
Hitsuke gets dragged out of the way of the lightning, much to his relief, though it does make the moment a bit awkward, he transitions out of it by pointing at Gentaro "Where'd Sensei learn to do that?" Hitsuke silently laughs at Malkuth, writing the obviously upset judge off until he notices the fire incoming, Hitsuke stands in front of Jihi, shiled up to deflect most of the heat. As he blocks, the kid yells with excitement "I'll tell you why, Sensei's a badass!"
Jihi laid there on the ground, letting Hitsuke pay his debt as he thought to himself, glancing over to Mr.Kisaragi attacking Malkuth "Well that's a new one..."he looking quite curious. "I wonder if it's apart of the program..." He took a moment to think to himself. "Probably is. "
"Persona", huh? If it belongs to this guy, having it around might be the best way to turn the tide. Nothing much else they could hope to do but power through with it. He presses into it, of course not knowing what battle winning technique he had just mastered, but it was worth a shot. Not that the fire flying toward him went unnoticed, but there wasn't much he could do to avoid, so he attempted damage control in the meantime. "You want it back, huh? Well too bad, cause I think I like the way it looks on my watch!" He used his baton to deflect several flames, but one managed to reach and scorch his shoulder.
Malkuth almost seemed tired as opposed to before., even seeming to breathe heavily despite not having to seemed to have a need to breathe before. The fight would be interrupted by Mino finally speaking to the group again. He seemed to sound somewhat tired as well as he spoke. Mino: "I've almost got it...Just a little more and... Wait, why is Malkuth's signal weaker than before? W-what... This is. I-I think he's actually vulnerable now. At this rate, you might...actually win! The chances are still small but- Nevermind! I'll just keep working to open the exit! Just keep trying to survive!" Mino almost sounded excited for a second but it didn't seem to last. Malkuth didn't seem like they were just going to wait around either as they began to build up their energy once more. Their blade could be seen growing brighter but it seemed as though they were struggling to gather up their power. Malkuth: "Don't you dare t-think that I, the branch of Kingship, fear anything!" All the while, Gentaro could feel a power building up within them after they pressed the icon on the watch. It was as if a new power was awakening, born from what they seemed to take from Malkuth.
The watch face seemed to pop forward from its socket. A small gap formed between the face and the strap. A digital interface appeared with a small analog clock ticking forward, and an arrow pulsing above it pointing at the left side of the clock. The instruction seemed pretty clear to the now glimmering teacher. He was to be the victor, not for himself or his pride, but for those who couldn't. His feelings were set, and he pressed into the crown of the watch. "Of course you don't, branches don't have fear before they get pruned!" The final click set into motion his fate. His fate. He pulled the face from the strap, sparks of electricity holding it in place, but he finally succeeded, revealing a small interface with four icons. A small red dot in the middle was what drew his attention, and he pressed into it before throwing the face before him. "And trust me, I've just got myself a hell of a pair of shears." The watch face glowed a deep blue, and strings of code projected from it onto Gentaro's waist. The code enveloped his body, until a new shape was seen around his waist, a sleek light blue device with four multicolored devices implanted at the top. The face itself locked into the center of the belt shaped object, with text reading "Hierophant" now scrolling across the screen. "Persona, right? Whatever it is, I think you're gonna regret letting me get a hold of it..." His first action with his new power is pressing the top icon, which at the beginning was a lightning bolt, but after his action was replaced with a rocket. The new icon caused text reading "ROCKET" to scroll across the watch face, causing his entire suit to shift from a shimmering gold to a pure white with darker grey accents. His watch also emitted light creating several parts about his arm, which soon combine to resemble a rocket. "Ohohoho! I finally get to do something I've always wanted to! ROCKET PUUUUUUNCH!" The rocket ignites, flinging Gentaro fist first into Malkuth's blade, but he narrowly misses, creating sparks as the rocket grinds on the surface. Gentaro was not aiming for the sword, but the cracks in his armor.
W-woah... That's so cool... Tomo stares as Kisaragi blasts into the shadow, the tables turned in just a blink of an eye, its Mino's voice that brings Yasogi back to virtual reality as she grips the Cross-Blade in her hands tightly We have a chance now do we? Well let's not dwadle! We've been graced with divine intervention! We won't back down now! Running towards Malkuth, Yasogi swings the cross diagonally across a leg before spinning it around for another reckless swing, doing her best to deal some damage!
"Sensei's so cool, its just like one of my animes!" Hitsuke jumps up, pumping his fence, only to wince feeling the sting leftover from Malkuth's previous attack, right, not really a game for them. At least it doesn't feel like it. With Yasogi charging in too, Hitsuke grins back at Jihi "Don't wanna get left behind right?" before following in, though his "weapon" isn't really that great for straight-up damage, he tries to run around Malkuth's other leg to hit the back of it and help unbalance the king
Jihi chuckled softly and stood up, seeing everyone of his comrades rush forward to the foe. Jihi simply took out his broad-chain-sword and smiling "Well i can't exactly not not help take out an boss." With that in mind and staggering slightly, he dashes after Hitsuke and Yasogi, holding his sword in one hand and his revolver in the other, just in case "I shall make his death beautiful!"
Malkuth would seem to try and prepare for Gentaro's attack, bringing their blade up to defend. That is until his defence would be thrown off from several blows to his legs. Though his legs hovered slightly off the ground the impact from Yasogi and Hitsuke would be more than enough to get them to drop their guard. Malkuth: "Off my feet! Y-you ants! What do you think you're doing!" Malkuth's blade would be lowered in an attempt to knock away those who had gathered but this brief pause in their defences would prove their downfall as Gentaro's fist made direct impact with the cracks in their armour from before. Pieces of Malkuth's armour would go flying all over the ground as their blade would fall onto a part of the platform behind them. The energy all at once would explode shaking the area as if it had momentarily lost its ability to remain suspended. Malkuth remained on the ground, now in a far more vulnerable position as the platform everyone was on began to restabilize. Malkuth: "No...You can't win...I'll admit my defeat but y-you, humans...I won't allow you to win over me! Even if it means Taking you all with me." Red sparks suddenly seemed to appear all over Malkuths body as it was enveloped in a volatile energy. An alarm seemed to go off as black smoke began pouring from every orifice of the shadow. Mino began to speak once more but in a much more panicked tone. Mino: "Not good, at this rate that whole area will be deleted! I've almost got an exit portal loaded into your area! I'm not sure I'll make it in time but...No, I have to make it in time! Just hold on a little longer!"
That's his cue. He'd fly toward the nearest student, arm outstretched with a clear intent. "Grab on!" That portal might not have been opened yet, but it wasn't safe to rely on the running speed of the student's, they'd probably need help. "Everyone, get ready!" One by one, he'd gather the students so they'd each hold onto one of his free limbs, all that was left was to wait for them all to be prepared. That, and for the portal to open the way out.
We did it! Thank God! Yasogi celebrates her little victory at taking down the titan, however it is short-lived as smoke begins to fill the area. She begins to panic before seeing Gentaro swoop down like an Angel. Dropping her blade, she gets a small running start before hopping onto and off Malkuth's leg and onto Gentaro's leg. Holding onto dear life as she looks towards the cross she abandoned Hope I don't get excommunicated for that...
Woah, awesome Malkuth's burst of energy pushes Hitsuke back as the boy digs his feet into the ground to block it, the kid looks around as the place seems to start crumbling with Malkuth's defeat, he's not quite sure what to do, but after blinking for a moment the kid simply goes Yes Sensei. and runs over to Gentaro to grab one of the guy's untaken arms and get ready for liftoff
Jihi cursed upon seeing the boss start to imploded, turning and glancing about to see his teacher. He runs over to him, jumping up and grabbing onto his other leg "Lets just hope you can carry all of us, Mr. Kisaragi!" He tighten his grip and waited for lift off or an explosion. Still, he figured, it'll be a blast
The whole area would seem to begin sparking as the unstable power coursing through Malkuth began to spread. Mino knew he didn't have much time left either. He needed to hurry and let them all out before it was too late. He began to work to open the portal as quickly as he could. Mino: "Alright, I think I've got it! 3...2...1... With one final effort the portal would open a little away from where Gentaro was already heading. The portal seemed to glow with an otherworldly green light but vaguely the classroom they were once in could be seen along with all of their real bodies sitting in desks. It would be easy to escape now. Malkuth watching as their body came apart finally began to realize his defeat. A shadow like Malkuth could hardly despair at this thought though. He seemed to almost laugh a little at his own demise. Perhaps on deaf ears but he would still speak through the unfolding chaos. Malkuth: "I see, so that's the result of your will. I wish I could have cared more deeply for those who followed me but I am a mere shadow of a true leader. Remember, to help them all see things through to the end, regardless of what the end may bring...Eternity lies in wait..." Malkuths body finally began to crumble into dust as the smoke obscured his form. The world would begin to crumble completely as the black smoke seemed to begin and spread across the entire area. Gentaro would have to make it to the portal quickly to escape.
No time to think on their fallen foes words, survival was at stake. As if by his will alone, the engine on his rocket flared with an intensity that was blinding. "Home, here we come!" He held his rocket aloft to avoid potentially scorching any of his students. Hopefully his newfound power was enough to speed him along to the portal. Worst case, he began spinning to build up momentum so that should he be incapable of making it, he could at least throw the students through it.
"Sensei..D.. Do you have to be so rough?" Hitsuke would keep a hold on Gentaro for dear life as they began spinning towards the portal, it was definitely not something he was expecting when he got out of bed this morning, but its probably better than dying
W-Woah! This is the home stretch now! Just a little more! Yasogi follows in Hitsuke's step, hanging on tightly as she breaths deeply, nearly escaping death so many times can really tire someone out, nevertheless it wasn't over just yet!
Jihi shut his eyes tight and held onto his teacher one last time, after he glances one last time to the fading monster. He couldn't hear his words, but his expression, his action and ultimately his demise was... at least beautiful "So long... may they have mercy on you... Mr. Ulimate Space Overload King Galaxy... good bye."
The world itself seemed to be burning away. The sound of static grew louder and louder by the moment. It was almost deafening as it reached its peak. Then as Gentaro finally made it to the portal with all the students in tow there would be silence. For a moment it was dark as reality seemed to melt back into place. They'd all find themselves back in the classroom where they were seated. Mino would be sitting at his computer, sweating heavily as if he was about to pass out. Mino: "Thank god, I made it in time....I-I'm sorry I put you all through that. I should have tested that area more to make sure it was safe. I didn't think an executioner would have made it that far."
Gentaro dusts himself off, only for him to realize he didn't have any dust on him. He looked around, and breathes a deep sigh of relief, an expression that quickly becomes overcome with a glare. "I get that you just saved our life and all, really I do, but... care to explain what the hell that thing was? Or rather, care to explain why you'd send us there in the first place if you knew that thing even existed? I've got tons more questions believe me, but those two are the ones that matter most." His arm hurt like hell, but there wasn't any burn on it. Not that he could tell anyway. "Kids? I recommend seeing the nurse before you leave, that is, if you think anything hurts. Though, I strongly recommend sticking around so we know what in God's name just happened."
Yasogi tumbles through the portal and lands into the classroom with her back on the floor with a oof! Gah! That... Was... Amazing! She quickly jumps up and almost starts to bounce off the walls but then quickly calms herself down and brushes the dust off herself, not paying much attention to any wounds she would have obtained if there were any at all! Whew, now I know how the crusaders felt! Anyhow, we are due answers. What was that? These watches to be more specific. Are they dangerous? Oh, don't worry about apologies. I always turn the other cheek.
“You said it cult lady.” Hitsuke slowly gets himself off the floor, a huge grin across his face as he dusts himself off, straightening his back as he gets up “Could have used an easier landing, but there’s NO way I’m missing out on this. When can we go again?”
Jihi flopped forward and landed on his feet, tilting his top hat to be amazed by himself, though when he tried to lean back to act high and mighty, he falls down "Erm... i agree with the consensus. What was that? Was it a secret boss or...?" Jihi got up and thought back to the boss, thinking no... remembering how real the feeling felt there "Though, with the way you made it sound... it is apart of this game. Correct?"
Mino would seem to try and shrug his own exhaustion off. Everyone else might notice that despite their injuries having disappeared, any pain they felt within the virtual world seemed to translate into dizziness within the real world. Mino looked at everyone with a somewhat pained expression. "It's better if none of you know anymore. If you get involved anymore...This wasn't supposed to go like this. I was just testing the equip feature. If only I knew what the executioners were capable of. L-look, you should probably quit this club now. Don't worry about what you saw or heard...I'll take care of it myself." Mino would face Gentaro but he couldn't seem to bring himself to look him in the eyes. There was an underlying fear in the tone of his voice but he seemed to try and hide it behind a fake smile. "Mr. Kisaragi, you should take the students and have them join a different club. My first club members and I already put them all in so much danger. This was a bad idea, to begin with. ... You all shouldn't have to worry about this, it's my responsibility. In time this club will probably disappear, me along with it. You most likely will never see me again after today."
"A word of advice, next time you're trying to uninvolve people in whatever the hell that was, you don't end it off with that whole disappearing thing, and I never said I was gonna stop, just that you give us some answers. Plus, something that monster said is sticking with me, he was gonna invade the human world. I seriously doubt that thing was the only of its kind, and that thing seemed to be in touch with its brethren." Gentaro pulled up a chair backwards and sat with his arms on the back. He really needed to sit so he didn't fall over. "Something's telling me that no matter what we do our lives are in danger, and no matter what you say, I'd prefer having a chance to give those creatures a black eye before I kick the bucket. Plus, I got some weird power in there, and if we could take one down, why can't we beat them to the whole conquest punch thing?" He reaches into his briefcase, grabbing a canned coffee. He was quite parched after that excursion.
Yasogi shoots Hitsuke a stink eye, but brushes it off once Mino begins to speak, letting Gentaro speak first before continuing He's right you know, you can't make amends by running away. You amend your mistakes by confessing and fixing them. We are in this together now, you still need testers don't you? If it happens again your next group might get slaughtered. We've proven that we can take them on, so let us do it.
Haha, look dude Hitsuke holds his hand up over his head, he's feeling a touch lightheaded, but he'd rather stand as long as he can, put on a better show that way at least Even if I WANTED to join another club, signups are just about closed. And since I've gotta be somewhere, looks like I'm with you boss, for better or for worse
Jihi would simply shrug hearing Mino's words. "I don't see any issue with staying in this club. Not after everything we seen. No, I'm more interested than ever to keep continuing to seek out much of what this place has to offer. That place, that desolate world, seems to just radiate with large amounts of beauty. That and, i don't have a lot of other things to do beyond school."
"You all...You're sure about this, right? T-there's a chance you could end up a little more than exhausted if this all goes wrong. You all know that right?" Mino would look back at his computer monitor. For a moment he closed his eyes trying to take in everything and make a decision. After a moment he would open his eyes again and turn to face everyone. "I guess...I can't just keep hiding everything and I know I won't be able to do this on my own. Alright, I'll tell you all everything I know but there won't be any turning back after that point. The mere knowledge of any of this will immediately make you a target. Where to start even...I'm not sure. There's too much to tell and I don't want to overwhelm any of you."
"I've got a good idea of what I wanna know... You didn't make that place, did you? Cause if I'm being honest, there was a lot there left up to chance, and I don't think someone who basically serves as a god of sorts would leave life and death stuff up to chance." He finishes downing the can. "Now as advisor, seeing as everyone here is comfortable with doing the right thing, I suppose we should call it for today. No way am I going back in there in this state, same goes for you all. If I catch you doing anything too risky, or failing, I won't hesitate to remove you from this club, but please... don't make it come to that." Gentaro stands up, walking toward the chalkboard. He picks up a piece of chalk, and starts writing in big letters "GOOD GUYS: 1 CYBERDEMONS: 0" "I think that sums up today's meeting, yeah?"
We are already committed to your cause. And I won't back down. Even if we do fall we will be the martyrs that will purge the sins from the lambs. A question I would like to ask, what do you exactly mean by target? Surely we are the only ones who know about this and the only danger is within VR? Yasogi then turns and smiles before doing a small bow at Kisaragi, ecstatic at the prospect that they could continue the club. Mmm. You have my word Sensei. I'll make sure I can keep up with my studies.
"Hey, I'm most certainly not backing out of the coolest thing ever." Hitsuke grins and brushes a few stray hairs out of his face, taking a look at the chalk board as he leans back in his chair "Yeah yeah, got it sensei, I'll be careful not to crash and burn."
Jihi looks at the board and smiles slightly. He reflected on Mino's words then back at the group "I'm with everyone here. I'll love to be here to bear witness to all the catastrophe or miracles we could perform within that world. There is something that has been bugging me and excuse me if I misinterpreted it. You made it sound like we weren't the first ones, then i ask, what happened to them?"
Mino would turn to Gentaro. He wasn't sure how to reply but he'd just smile with a defeated look before answering. "Guess it does seem kind of pathetic. I was the main programmer who designed and created that world but the shadows...they weren't made by me or anyone else. That world, I guess you could say, was made to hold the shadows. Shadows aren't being that can be held prisoner for very long though. The longer they're held somewhere the more they adapt to it and as they adapt to it the world adapts to them. Before long they became the new rulers of that world. Meanwhile, all I could do was try to reclaim a little of it. Lot of good that does though as you all saw." Next Mino would answer Yosogi but with a much more serious glance. "Let's just say I used to work for a very dangerous group who wanted to use the virtual world to run experiments on shadows. They didn't care about what effects such experiments might have on the world as a whole. That's why I removed their access to it and went into hiding." Finally, Mino would answer Jihi but he seemed to struggle to bring the words out. "I-I'm sorry. I don't want to remember. I-I'm the only one who made it out." Mino seemed to be tired now as well despite not having been the one fighting. He looked back to Gentaro before facing the group together. "Yeah, it's probably best if we end things here today. If you have any more questions then you can ask them next time we meet...Feels a bit weird saying that. I'll be wrapping things up here, I have to get ready for the next time I guess."
