Return of Kotori's Crater Garden.
On the outskirts of Tokyo, in the middle of a green field sits a huge garden within the confines of what used to be an enormous crater. The garden itself has many, many different sections, each with it's own little habitat filled with a variety of plants both normal, foreign, and..... can that even be considered a plant? Around the edge, there are a ring of pure white flowers that whistle a beautiful tune in the wind, and in the center, a well turned fountain that sprays water into the air to sprinkle constant water over the garden for hydration. Outside of the crater is a homemade shelter big enough for a single person, As well as a sign in front of the garden that reads... "Please bring any exotic seeds you might have! And don't be afraid to ask me for any herbal remedies or enhancements you may want!" And scrawled beneath, as If she'd run out of room. "Please be respectful and don't touch the plants, they can be temperamental and might bite/burn/molest/maul you" Right outside, Kotori sits at a camp fire with a rather large egg sitting in the middle of it.
Walking towards the shelter, Chidori said little as she eyed the garden nearby, impressed at her sister's gardening skills.. Stopping by the campfire, the girl sat down, offering a small smile towards her sister.. Hey, how have you been, imouto...?
Hey Onee. Just taking care of Miki here. She points to the egg in the fire that she's been poking
The pale-blue haired girl eyed the egg momentarily before looking over to her sister.. ...Are you sure you aren't accidentally cooking the egg instead of keeping it warm..?
Don't worry! She's a dragon. You gotta keep 'em hot or they won't grow scales. Kotori pokes the egg some more.
A pair of travelers happen upon the garden, the first and leading one is a tall man in a long, red overcoat, suited for the winter weather, with short white hair highlighted in red. Clinging to his side is an extremely young blonde girl with a purple coat hanging over her short white dress and blue skirt, hair topped with a large, cute, blue bow. Girl: Can't you carry me? We've been walking for hours Man: The answer's still no. Stop asking. The man says with a scowl, he pushes the girl off of him before approaching the garden, the girl takes note of the flowers and kneels down next to the whistling white ones, picking one without hesitation Man: Definitely a lot of good stuff here. Girl: Oooh, pretty.
A man in a t-shirt with the image of a golden key sewn into it wanders into the area, there's a phone in his hands and a grin on his face. "Intriguing, I wasn't expecting to find something like this inside city limits..." He mutters something under his breath and taps a few buttons on his phone, eyeing the results it displays carefully for a moment before nodding his head. "I see I see, that explains this presence then. Makes sense, a lot of effort must have gone into it." He'd look at... What remains of the crater actually, his phone displaying readings upon the powerful magical energy which had smashed it to bits long ago. After a while, he notices the others present and waves at them. "Ah, sorry for being so rude. Just call me Prometheus, willworker. Pleased to meet you all I'm sure."
A kid wearing vibrant clothing would walk towards the garden. Their hair was also very colourful, showing colours of blue and green. They'd seem to have a smirk permanently fixed on their face as if planning out their next move at all times. Despite their silly seeming appearance, there would be something very intense about their presence as well. It almost seemed as though the colours were radiating off their body in a way. On their leg was also a small pouch that seemed to be used to hold cards though the contents would be hidden by the closed pouch. The boy would occasionally look down at their watch and talk to it as if communicating with someone. "So, the dragon signal was someone around here? Don't see any bloom yet so that's a good sign. Maybe it's not powerful enough to spread bloom which means this will be an easy job. Still, wasn't expecting a garden out here..."
"Did he say dragon?" The taller man initially thinks, glancing back at Mishiru. He glances sideways to the girl, who remains picking flowers by the garden's edge, and nods silently to himself before walking towards Mishiru, a friendly grin spreading across his face Man: Pardon me sir, I can't help but notice you seem newer around here, is there any way I can be of assistance?
Mishiru would look back to the man with confusion. He'd look at him with a bored expression typical of a child his age before responding. "Who're you? If you're trying to sell me something then I'm not interested. Just here for work is all and then I'll be heading home." He'd seem to pause for a moment, looking down at the device around his wrist before looking back up at the man. "Actually, guess I should ask. Seen anything large and menacing lately. Exterminating things like that is a big part of my job. Can't talk too much about it but it's pretty important."
Man:"Well you certainly don't mince words." The man chuckles to himself, glancing back down at Mishiru, he doesn't seem to be armed, at least not in any way the man can identify, so it can't be too bad, so the man keeps his calm grin with ease Leo:"Then I'll get to the point. My name's Leo, and I've got information on a lot of things, if you've got the money for it. You were talking about dragon's earlier right? I've heard they're worth quite a lot."
Mishiru would give the man a suspicious look. His bored expression beginning to grow warier he'd pick up his tone a bit taking on a more serious voice as he spoke. "Selling info? That sounds a bit shady. Not that money is really an issue though but how do I know the information you're selling is trustworthy. I'm not some idiot who just blindly follows what they're told just so you know..." He'd quickly mutter something to himself, unsure if anyone would be able to hear. "...Not anymore, anyway."
Sorry about not participating much in my own thread, work got busy and I had to leave for a bit Kotori walks up to the visitors and smiles at them Hello there. She would greet each person and introduce herself I'm Kotori. Uhh... Welcome to my garden, you looking for anything in particular or just looking around? She'd smile at the child and pat her head before looking up to the man who seemed to be her father Careful, some of these plants have a mind of their own, if they don't like you they might try to eat you. The songlilies are safe to pick though. And they make for a really interesting tea. Upon hearing the green haired kid mention "dragons" she'd turn her attention to him Are you looking for me?
Prommie just shrugs, he's really only looking around out of boredom... And an attempt to pursue a Mystery. "Honestly, I didn't even notice the garden at first. I was just walking around and then bam, suddenly I feel like a magic nuke went off here or something at sometime. You uh, know anything about that? I'm kind of a seeker of all things Arcane." That's a bit of a dumbing down, in truth he thinks of it more as a poorly understood science. But most here seem to be used to 'magic' and thus the term is used. He then turns to the info seller and... Dragon hunter? "Info seller eh, I might want to deal with you at some point. Anything to solve another Mystery. And oi green hair, you looking for dragons? They've been dead a whole long time where I'm from according to my colleagues in the orders, but I doubt our uses of the term line up anyways."
Leo continues smiling, putting one hand in his coat pocket as he continues speaking, eyes closed for the moment. Around this time the girl looks up from the flowers, noticing that Leo had left her side Leo: "This your first time or something? Not to worry, its your choice as to whether you believe me or not. If I were lying you'd simply know never to buy anything again." soon enough the girl would rush back to Leo's side, eyes bright with delight, upon hearing the girl's voice Leo breathes out a deep sigh Girl:"Leo!!" Leo: "Not now runt, I'm in the middle of something" Leo returns back to his cheerful, friendly demeanor as he turns to Kotori Leo: "Ah, this place is yours I take it? Mind taking the brat and doing something to keep her busy? I shouldn't be too much longer." The girl frowns after getting patted, not so much at the patting, but more at Leo trying to keep her out of it Girl: "Can't I stay with you?" Leo: "Like I said, I won't be long. I'm sure you can find something interesting to do."
Mishiru would become distracted with the girl who had just asked him something. He was confused to say the least why she'd think he was looking for her. She didnt appear to be surrounded by a draconian aura or anything. "Unless you've been planting toxic draconic flowers then no and since you don't appear to be suffering from the symptoms of dragon sickness I'd have to assume you haven't." He'd next look over to Prometheus with an even more suspicious glance. "Well, it's kinda supposed to be a secret, at least to an extent but yeah. It's my job to exterminate any dragons I find as a dragon slayer. Guess you could say I have a hatred of dragons too but that's another thing entirely." finally he'd return to addressing Leo, letting himself be a bit more at ease. "Fair enough point. So how much for you to tell me where the nearest dragon is, if you know that is?"
She turns to answer Prometheus first, looking at the garden and then back I'm not sure.. This crater was created quite a while back... the well used to be a portal to another world or something.... That's where I first met Suou-senpai.... If you're following large magical sig.... uhh... power, it might be the Eldtra Tails, they build mana up in their petals until the petals burst out and the mana spreads into the air around it. That's why I planted them next to the Mizoki's, they feed off Mana in the air around them, so you gotta have a high amount around them or they'll start eating people.... She lowers herself to the kids eye level and smiles at her. Adults can be mean sometimes? Can't they? They get so busy doing their own things that sometimes they forget to be nice. Do you want a flower? I have ones that shine if you hold them up to a light. Or ones that give off a rainbow when they get wet. She'd then turn to Mishiru Hmm.... I don't think I've come across Draconic Flowers yet... I'd love to add them to my collection though! If they're toxic I can add them to the Dudal row, It would be nice to not have to kill them myself every week...
Dragon slayer? Far from a typical job. He knew some people didn't like them, there's a reason they're not just called human after all, but going out of their way to slay them seems extreme. Leo: "Very well, nearest dragon I've seen is a few days travel to the west, hiding out near a place called Indigo Village. Though I do feel obligated to mention you'd make a lot more selling 'em than killing 'em. Since its more of an area than a location I'll sell it cheap, how's 10,000 G sound?" of course, they'd likely find no dragon out there, but he'd never feel bad about lying to a killer. Leo nods back to Prometheus Leo: "Very well, I've got all sorts of bits and pieces from my travels, its what the kid and I live off after all." The girl looks back at Kotori with a smile Girl: "Leo's really nice, he just doesn't like it when I talk to customers." The girl holds up some of the songlillies she picked earlier Girl: "I can keep these right? They're really pretty and sound neat too."
Of course you can keep them! Kotori smiles happily and binds the flowers together with a string to make carrying them easier They sing in the wind, and you can even teach them songs if you sing around them. You don't even need to water them either, just be sure to make sure they get lots of moonlight at night. ok?
The girl lets Kotori take the flowers, smiling as she takes the string and ties it around her neck to make a little necklace of them. Girl: "I'll take good care of them. And teach them every little song I know. The girl cheerfully nuzzles the flowers, perhaps being a little too rough on them. Before her stomach can be heard growling.
Are you hungry? I have some belfrut if you'd like some. Kotori runs over to a bush-like plant and pulls some blue fruit looking things off and brings them over to her. Here~ It kinda tastes like watermelon.
The girl follows Kotori through the garden, which coincidentally gets the pair well away from the other three. the girl stays by Kotori's side and accepts the fruit, looking at it somewhat curiously, before taking a bite and almost immediately spitting it out Girl: "Gross." The girl spends a few more seconds spitting at the ground before looking back up at Kotori with bright eyes and asking Girl: "Tell me a lie?"
Oh, do you not like watermelons? Kotori thinks to herself And... you want me to tell you a lie? Ok.. how about..... Uhhh..... I'm definitely the strongest person in the world!
seconds after Kotori speaks, a small, muddy brown creature seems to come out of the dirt, it has these cute pink eyes and a squiggly smile that looks like it might have been hand drawn. It makes a strange, gurgly sound similar to Kotori's last statement lie:I'm DeFiniTEly thE sTroNg... is as far as it gets before the little girl tackles the creature, catching it in her own short arms and starting on its head. As small as the thing was, it wouldn't take the girl long to finish her meal
Mishiru would look at Leo with skepticism but eventually would pull up his wrist device and talk into it. "Ya got that? Might as well check it out." Shortly after a helicopter would appear overhead with a logo reading "Nodens" printed on it. It would drop a briefcase full of G onto the ground in front of Leo. "All right, there's your money. However, I should say that if it turns out your lying, don't think I'll just let you off easy. Don't exactly like wasting my time and I hate losing more than anything." A ladder would drop from the helicopter and Mishiru would grab onto it before climbing up. With that the helicopter would fly away with Mishiru until it was out of view.
Uwaaa..... You eat lies? That's a pretty useful diet.... Kotori looks on in surprise and wonder I bet you would be great at being a detective. Is that why your dad lied about the dragons? The only one around here is in an egg in that fire pit. She points to the fire pit, in which a large purple and blue spotted egg is sitting in a fire that looks like it's melting the rocks around it Unless I count.... But I just have scales.
The girl pauses a little over halfway through and raises an eyebrow at Kotori. She finishes eating before giving a little burp and replying Girl: Did he? I can never tell when he's lying, its all mixed up with truth and... Ugh. The girl sighs and shakes her head, before checking around her body Girl: Efi doesn't have scales. When did you get them? Leo lets out a chuckle as he looks down at the briefcase Leo: "Good luck with that friend. You'd need your own spy network to have a chance of following me." Leo opens the briefcase to confirm the contents, assuming it all checked out he would grab it and stash it under his coat before starting to look around for the girl
I got scales by being bit by an elder dragon. I spent two years being trained by them to fight, and when they sent me off, they gave me some of their blood as a parting gift. And one day, when I get stronger, I'll even be able to grow wings! Kotori's eyes go off in the distance as she remembers the past. I owe them a lot... they saved my life.... Shaking her head to bring her mind back, she turns to Efi and smiles If you don't have scales, maybe you're a different type of dragon? You don't look like any dragon i've seen, but that just means I've never met a dragon like you before! Ah... looks like your dad is looking for you... Kotori shouts and waves to Leo cheerfully Mister! Over here!
Efi tilts her head, not entirely sure what Kotori's going on about, there're a lot of big words in there for her, but she still returns Kotori's smile Efi: "Leo told me I'd have wings too when I'm older, but I haven't been able to get them out yet." The girl concentrates for a moment, to no apparent avail, and continues as Leo hears Kotori's shout and heads over to the pair with a grin Leo: "Sorry about any trouble Efi may have caused you, the runt can be quite a handful at times."
Kotori pats Efi's head again before turning back to Leo Don't worry about it, It was fun, and I learned a little about different dragons. Feel free to visit anytime. It's a lot more fun with people around. I kinda wish I could eat lies too....
Leo: "Did you now? So I take it you were hungry earlier" Leo looks back down at Efi with a sigh, the younger girl smiles back up at him with a nod Efi: "The nice lady told me a bunch of- The girl is interrupted by Leo calmly flicking her in the head, unprepared for it, Efi falls back down, rubbing the sore spot Leo: "You should know not to tell strangers about it by now. Information like that is extremely valuable to some people, and not all of them are nice. Cost me a pretty penny there runt." Leo grins smugly as Efi gets back to her feet, catching her little flower necklace out the corner of his eye Efi: "You don't have to be so mean about it." Leo: "I won't be as soon as you learn. Just consider yourself lucky." Leo turns back to Kotori, his friendly demeanor changed to a more distant, businesslike one, hand held tightly to the briefcase he got earlier Leo: "Sorry about all that, like I said the kid's a handful. So lets get down to it, how much will it take for you to keep this little secret of ours, at least for the next few weeks?"
so we still going or no?
Sorry, Didn't see the update Kotori thinks to herself for a bit Hm? Secret? About her? Dragons? Lies? Nah~ I don't need money. I'll keep a secret. She pats Efi I won't say anything I learned today. Don't worry! I can keep a secret good! It would be obvious that she's telling the truth, as no lie would be born from her words.

Leo wouldn't even need to consult Efi on something this simple, he'd breathe out a sigh before looking back up at Kotori Leo: "You don't actually know why do you? Dragons like her tend to be rather strong and tough, so there're a lot of people interested in them. Like that green-haired kid earlier." Leo kneels down by Efi and pats the kid on the head, the kid still seems somewhat downcast, and looks back at him with a pouty face Leo: "That's why its very important you don't go showing it off unless I say its alright. Got it brat?" Efi: "You don't have to keep telling me." Leo: "I'll stop telling you when you start remembering. Now come on." Leo grabs Efi's hand and starts to walk away with the child following at his side, as they start to go Leo looks back at Kotori Leo: "For that matter, I suggest you keep your part-dragon bit to yourself. If these people heard of a dragon that could reproduce naturally I imagine there'd be a fortune in it for them."
Kotori looks wide eye'd at Leo Woah.... I never thought about that.... Thanks Mister! Have fun! She waves to Leo and Efi as they leave Hmm.... Are dragons really that rare? She'd return to caring for the egg in the fire
