The Climber in The City
It was a nice and shiny day Climber was walking around the streets, helping people do some small chores, getting a cat out of a tree for a little girl and was just overall trying to be a helpful person But as the Climber walked around, he noticed something going on in a nearby alleyway, he walked into the alleyway and found a small black creature. He would look at the creature The Climber would look at the creature in fear, for a different reason like he just had a flashback to something bad but soon the creature suddenly tries attacking Climber. Climber would snap out of the flashback and defend himself by quickly swinging his pickaxe and after a short bit of fighting... the Climber defeats the creature and soon the creature vanishes The Climber would leave the alleyway, wondering why the little back creature attacked him... oh climber, you have so much to learn
"Man, this is the pits." A short, white-haired girl? who seems to be in her mid-teens walks around the city, clearly dejected, their.. Eccentric fashion choices lead to most people giving them a pretty wide berth, maybe to avoid the hoops in their outfit, but they don't seem to mind. Instead they kick up some dust and lament "First I get stuck like this and now I'm in some freaky city. Why can't I get some peace?"
Sorry I couldn't respond sooner The Climber as he left the alleyway would see the person (Moebius), he would wonder why the person was wearing that kind of outfit but he just thought it was normal after all he doesn't know a lot about the world or well he doesn't know a lot of word either like dance "Hi" The Climber would say as he walks over to the person (Moebius) and waves, with his right hand, to also say hello. also in his Left hand, he was holding his pickaxe
Moebius raises their eyebrow, sizing up the climber in an instant, before bringing out a smug grin, Moebius waves them on by with a snark "Wow, you look even more out of place than I am, and that's sayin' something. Seriously, where do you think we are, the Himalayas?" The unpleasant person crosses their arms and acts smug, glad to have someone they can use to feel better for themselves
A young man in a black coat wanders through the city, a curious look on his face as he glances around. "Geez, this place is a lot bigger than Twilight Town... Heh, maybe I'll actually find a lead here." He'd look over at the strangely dressed pair, not that he can really judge given his own choices right now. Even so, could they be what he's thinking? Roxas moves towards them with a slight smile, aiming to appear friendly. For now. "Huh, a strange choice in outfit... So I'm curious, are either of you two from around Tokyo?"
"Himalayas? I don't know that place... and I don't know where I even am besides I know that i'm in a city" Climber said happily, not knowing that intent of what moebius is saying Soon the Climber would turn and would look at the other person (Roxas) "Um, I don't know where that place is?" Something seems off about Climber... like is he even a human?
"So that's what this place is called." The girl? leaves one foot on the ground, spinning a full circle before taking a small jump and landing in a bow towards Roxas, though there's a constant hint of condescension in their tone "Name's Mobius, I happen to have just arrived at this little dung heap myself. Can't say I'm impresed."
He just sighs and looks over at the... Person? He can't really be sure at this point. "Huh huh, yeah no you aren't from around here at all then." More of a statement than a question at this point, Roxas rubs the back of his head for a moment before shaking it. "Wonderful, was your world devoured by darkness or something? I can't exactly say I have any desire to deal with that kind of a mess but it's not like there's any choice if it were..." His voice sounds resigned as if this kind of thing is simply how life works for him. "Roxas, I'm sure it's nice to meet you. Anyways yeah welcome to Toyko, part of what some call 'The Nexus' or something I think? Heck if I know, it's a mess that draws in bits of various worlds and those living there. And people who's worlds aren't quite there anymore. Which one are you two?"
*A dark chuckling can be heard. Sitting on a bench nearby, drinking tea, sits Tenkai. He smirks as he looks over to the group.* You don't know where you even are yet you go about your daily business regardless of anything odd happening. Ha. That is interesting. Has it occured to you that what your doing is illegal?
A young man, looking to be around his late-teens wandered near, reading a book idly. He had pulled his hood up, and wasn't really paying attention to anything around him. People avoided him, too, though it probably had to do more with the swords and guns strapped to his sides. "I need to update the schedule, and do some more slaying..." While mumbling to himself, he accidentally bumped into the Climber, and stopped in his tracts, looking up from his notes to stare at him. The most striking feature of his face were his eyes, crimson in color, and glowing. "Sorry, wasn't looking where I was going."
Roxas looks over at Eito, something about him seems vaguely like he's met the guy before... Maybe it's just because he knows so many well-armed teenagers though. "I'm sure it's fine, nice weapons ya got there by the way. Know anything bout using em?" His tone is immensely casual for someone discussing methods of killing, and there's a slight grin on his face. Till he turns over to Tenkai and groans. "Oh dear god, please don't tell me you plan on spouting cryptic nonsense and then teleporting away. I'm not sure why but you just give me that kind of vibe man. Anyways, I do know something about this city and last I looked walking around wasn't illegal."
"I uh...." Mobius puts both arms behind their back, standing around kinda awkwardly, it hurt to admit but since this person obviously knew all about parallel worlds and magic and all that, it probably wouldn't be the weirdest thing they heard "Got evicted.... From my timeline. Spent a little while floating in space, now I'm here. Looking like this." Mobius gestures to their... Unique dress to make a point, its rather open with these weird diagonal rings going off to the side, mostly in red and black "Pretty much been the worst week ever." the person spins around to Tenkai with a cocky grin, crossing their arms "Don't know, didn't ask, don't care. You gonna do something about it?"
And how do you know that? You don't know where you are. Standing around and talking could be illegal. This could be a dictator controlled nation who is so paranoid about people turning on him he banned any amount of public speech. Just a thought exercise, but I doubt any of you actually considered that when you arrived here, did you? *Tenkai takes a sip of his tea.* Also, teleporting away after saying something cyptic isn't my style. I'd at least offer you a drink first. Hmm hmm hmm.
Eito, as he bumps into Climber, would feel that Climber's body was surprisingly soft... like as soft as a pillow Climber would turn around and looks at Eito "It's alright" Climber didn't seem to care Climber looks at Roxas "I'm Climber and well I'm from Castle of Nations... well that's what the place I was from... but then theres also the Dimensional Island..." Climber soon looks at Matsunaga "What's illegal and what's a dictator?"
Roxas looks back at the girl curiously, strange to say the least even by his standards but eh. Not the most absurd thing he's heard of, if he counts things from Sora's memory anyway. "Hmm, getting kicked out of a whole timeline huh? That's gotta take some effort..." As for Tenkai, the boy is starting to get a tad annoyed and glaring at him by this point. "Tokyo, judging by the area..." He'd glance around, spotting a building labeled 104 off in the distance. "Mmm yeah, Shibuya ward to be exact, now I'll admit it has been a few months since I stopped by this city but last time I was here it was most assuredly not ruled by any such person. And if that's changed... Eh, I'll deal with it."
"Ah, that's good, then. Still, sorry." He nods, and turns to look at Roxas, examining him for a moment before nodding again. "Yeah, I get plenty of practice in every day. Took a lot of work to get these in the first place, so i'm making the most out of them." Lastly, he looks at Tenkai, with a rather irritated expression. "As a matter of fact, I know this place quite well. It's under what could be described as 'Controlled Anarchy'. Not even sure if there's any sort of governing body around, either. It's surprising we haven't burned the place down, though not for a lack of trying."
*Tenkai looks at Climber disaprovingly.* Do you know what a dictionary is? If so, I'd advise looking up a few words. *He then looks over to Roxas and Eito.* As I said, it was a thought experiment. No need to get so aggravated. Still, controlled Anarchy is a term for it. It's definatly not orderly, that's for sure. Someone should really get on changing that. *Tenkai leans back in his seat, folding one leg over the other.* I suppose I should introduce myself, should I not?
whether or not they were looking for an opportunity to air their woes, Mobius takes Roxas's general indifference as a good opportunity to start laying into them "As if! I was actually doing my job for once, but that dumb princess just HAD to get married, completely ignoring the vow they made forever ago. Then their GRANDMA of all people got involved and made it so the vow never even existed before they could kick my tail. And with that thing gone, apparently Time decided I didn't need to be there anymore and just threw me away. life was way easier when I was a bunch of sand." Mobius sighs and crosses their arms, still a little ticked but it felt nice to be able to vent for someone, no matter how apathetic they probably were. Mobius gives a wry grin and gestures over to Tenkai "No, go ahead, don't mind me. I'm sure you've got a wonderful performance for us."
He'd grin back at Eito, holding his arms behind his head. "Heh, nifty. Well if you're ever looking for someone to practice against look me up, I can't say I've actually fought anyone in a while. Cept monsters but those things hardly count with how dense they are." There's boredom clear in his eyes, as though the fact he hasn't risked life and limb that much lately is both shocking and dull to this boy. "Anyways, has anything been happening while I was gone? I used to hang around this city a good bit, but lately, I'd been... Busy. Looking for someone actually." He'd sigh and look back to Tenkai, smiling a bit. "Mmm, yeah that's fair enough, did overreact a bit on my part. And no this place isn't what I'd call ordered, I'm almost sure that's by design but I could be wrong. But I mean hey, at least there's not too much danger from what I've seen... Usually." The girl's rant draws a raised eyebrow from the key holder as he sighs, what would Axel do here? Fire, wait no that won't work. "I... See. A bunch of sand huh, weird but I guess I can't comment on someone's origins. At any rate, maybe this could be a chance in disguise? To get out and see new things."
Climber was kinda confused about Tenkai said "Um... how am I doing to do that?" Climber asked Can't wait to see if someone tries to attack Climber
Eito smiles, ever so slightly, at Roxas' offer, and idly pats the sword at his right side. "There's a place for that, actually. The GYM. Though, it's gone mostly unused these days. I just clean and perform maintenance, but a good fight sounds fun." On that satisfied note, he takes a brief look at Moebius and their ranting, then promptly ignores them to stare at Tenkai once more. "Sure. I guess I should, as well." He bows overdramatically, the glow in his eyes intensifying for a moment, leaving trails in the air as he moves. "I'm Eito, Shadow hunter extraordinaire."
*Tenkai shakes his head.* A plan? No, nothing of the sort. Today, I'm just a casual observer. *Tenkai glances over at Climber.* Go to a library or book store. If you don't know what that is, they are usually labeled. Ask for a dictionary. Study the meanings of words. It's quite simple, I assure. *Tenkai then turns his head back to Eito* Shadow Hunter, eh? So that aura is... hmm. I see now. Well, as for me, I am Matsunaga Tenkai. Tenkai is fine. I own a small tea shop in the Northeast of Shibuya. If you happen to find yourself tired from this GYM of yours, I do believe you'd enjoy it. I am known as a master of tea cerimonies after all.
Roxas raises an eyebrow at the man, master of tea ceremonies huh? For some reason, Roxas has this feeling that he's a bit more than he appears, of course, that could be simple paranoia leftover from his days in the organization. "Huh, a tea shop... I'm a little surprised by that actually, you kind of give off the vibe of someone a bit less normal than that to me." As for Eito, Roxas grins at the boy widely upon hearing the name GYM. "Oh, so you've been taking care of that place then? Good to hear! I haven't fought anyone there in ages, but I remember meeting some pretty interesting combatants in GYM!"
"Oh please, see the world? Only world I wanna see's on TV, maybe Animal Planet. Those meerkats are pretty adorable." Mobius chuckles putting a hand over their face as it alights with childish glee. Their distant dreams flashing before their eyes, actually, maybe it is a chance for them after all... "Though, I guess I may as well ask. You seen any time keepers? They're usually royalty, gt the time magic to go with it. If I can talk to them I just might... Be able to go back, yeah." Mobius keeps a mischevious grin, just hoping for a day they'll be able to relax in peace again. Or every day preferably.
Roxas laughs at that, geez. Who'd wanna just see things from a TV, adventuring is way more fun. "Heh, really? I've always liked going to new places, meeting different kinds of people... I've been to tons of places already, but somehow they never cease to amaze me when I arrive in a new one. Maybe one of these days I'll get a chance to travel around with my friends. But, that's just my style." In contrast to his prior disinterest, the boy sounds genuinely excited by the prospect of adventuring. Though her second question would get him to pause and bring his hand to his chin. "TIme magic... Can't say I have, or at least if I did they weren't showing off any time magic. I'll keep an eye out though at least."
Climber smiles "Alright" Climber said but he didn't want to go get a dictionary, he wanted to keep talking and make some friends here... after all they still don't know that he's actually a living mannequin
Eito raises an eyebrow at Tenkai, and hums to himself in thought. "Tea master, huh? I'll have to agree with him on this one." He motions to Roxas at that, before speaking once more. "I'm probably paranoid, but I can't really take anything at face value. I mean, I befriended a guy who sold coffee a long time back. Turned out he was a superhero." He chuckles at that, and looks away, as if to reminisce, before shaking his head and sighing, speaking to Roxas, then. "Yeah, met plenty of interesting faces working there. They ruined a lot of perfectly good doors, but damn if it wasn't fun in the end..."
Ha. Is it really so suprising that someone like me could own a tea shop? Well, what can I say? I just like my tea done right and I assume others do as well. *Tenkai unfolds his leg and gets up. A spider crawls up his arm from his empty tea cup as he collects it from next to him.* As I said. I'm just someone who likes to observe things. I'm not one to get involved unless I feel I really need to. So, I set up a shop where people who do like getting involved in things going on can come and take a rest. It's my way of helping out. Is that so hard to believe?
"Well, its your right to be wrong I guess." Mobius grins, returning to their usual condescending, almost mocking manner, as though while they may not know the place, they may as well own it anyways "Way I see it there's nothin' better than the simple stuff, and while sure it might be exciting and all to go out and see new things, at the end of the day you're just gonna ache to go home anyways." Mobius shrugs, putting out both of their arms in a "bite me" gesture "Why go through all the mess for the same result?
Going home... He laughs. "I don't have a home to be blunt, I guess I might be able to count one place but... It doesn't really fit if you ask me, I've been to lots of different worlds but not a one that I'd ever really think of as my home." He shrugs a bit, a casual grin still present on his face. "That sort of ties into the whole origins thing though, you could say that I'm not really like most people." As for Tenaki, Roxas looks over and puts a hand to his chin. "Hmm, I guess I can sort of see it... But eh, I can't shake the feeling. In my dealings with this place, very little is what it seems."
Climber was just listening to what they were saying... he didn't really know what to say at the moment, but he soon sat down and just waits to see if they need any help
Observing the situation once more, Eito nods silently, and unceremoniously turns away, opening his book once again. "Nice meeting you all. I hope we talk again sometime." And with that, he walks away.
"Very little is what it seems", eh? *Tenkai chuckles at Roxas' words as he starts wandering off.* Truer words have never beem spoken.
"I mean, I used to. Until. You know." Mobius leans forward, letting their arms hang again with a sigh. "Anyways, I'm sure you'll find somewhere to settle down, humans always do after all. Can't go running around forever."
