Why does everyone hate Mementos???
It’s honestly one of my favorite things about the game. You could literally spend an entire (real life) day in mementos Just GRINDING!!! I’ve been prepping for Okumuras boss battle there (along with spamming kawakami to make me coffee). I started with a little under ¥8,000 at level 40 and walked out with ¥78,000 and got up to level 45 in one (in game) day. On top of finding ¥100,000 worth of treasure to sell. Not to mention the subtle, yet funny “car boredom dialogue” Mementos is awesome!!!
On top of that. If you start from the beginning, the enemies are so weak that you barely have to use any SP by the time you get to the end.
repetitive and boring
I mean yeah it’s repetitive . But everyone speaks about it as if it were a mandatory part of the game. It’s not like Atlus is strapping you a chair demanding you to play it. And like I said. It’s great for grinding if you have the patience and a couple hours to kill.

I mean it is mandatory to get the good ending of the game....
its only fun during the flu season
i mean i always play on the omega version of the stage so idk about all that stuff, the fancy colours and lines are nice tho
Everyone's like "Ugh mementos is trash" meanwhile I'm over here grinding in Tartarus like "Man I sure do enjoy this music" and "Why the fuck did I just get hit on my weakness 4 times and die from missing one enemy"
Look at this bitch actually dying in Tartarus
I was playing on the hardest difficulty, fight me
Look at this bitch actually dying in Tartarus
do you have to be so rude have you played on merciless difficulty
I just think Mementos could use a more... memorable music track.
maybe if they replaced the current mementos bgm with the joker gun remix...
tartarus music changed and evolved over the course of the game tartarus areas were shifting all the time tartarus let you set different bgm tracks mementos has changing color palettes and one song the entire time ok
Haz gots big brains. The Chad Tartarus vs The Virgin Mementos. Hopefully in P5R they change Mementos up a bit so its at least better to look at with changing areas and have the music change over time
everythings getting remixed right? brothers gotta hope at least
You guys are a bunch of babies lol. Just mute the bgm while youre in mementos and play whatever bgm you want on your speakers. It's not that hard.
I haven't played the previous personas (yet) so I can't relate to Tartarus. But for someone like me that started with P5, it's still pretty enjoyable. Especially just having a place that I can solely dedicate to leveling up and getting some extra cash.
To be honest, I actually like Mementos. I mean, yeah it's no Tartarus with its music and stuff but like, Mementos kinda reflects kinda what a palace thats supposed to be everyone's palace would look like. It's kinda bland, the music is repetitive (but I still enjoy it) and that's how anyone would feel in a place where they have to do stuff that they think is bland repetitive in their everyday lives. So yeah, that's why I like it and stuff... why did I do this?
What would it be like if someone's palace was tartarus.
I mean, mementos is alright, it's not unberable saying "just mute the bgm" doesn't really refute the point I was making, which was that tartarus was a better example of how to do a purely grind-focused dungeon than mementos and that was over a decade ago mementos isn't bad, it's just lazy
mementos isn't lazy per say. It's just underdeveloped.
mementos just ends up feeling like a slog to go through truthfully, tartarus was too, but it at least took a couple of steps to try and make it less monotonous, how effective those steps were is mostly up to personal bias they weren't that effective no matter how you slice it I just generally dislike procedurally generated dungeons in games like these, they tend to feel either tacked on or too much of a slog compared to the dungeons with, y'know, actual level design
