An Unpleasant Incident
It was a quiet and calm day, as any other, too calm if anything, the sky was faintly overcast, it left a vague sense of unease as the day went on. These fears would be confirmed when you stumble upon police tape around the first floor of one of the local office buildings. A small crowd had gathered for a time but soon dissapates, leaving only a few people who had worked there and the small group of officers. And of course, peering through the windows, is the scene of a crime. Its a young man, likely in his mid twenties, with faint, red stringcoming out of his sleeves, these strings branch off and connect to four pillars strewn about the main lobby while the police begin their investigation
Sam
*Soon after the crowds start to part, Sam steps closer to the tape and looks in through the window at the body, his arms folded.* Mayu (Comms): What do you think Boss? Well, it looks like some sort of murder mystery TV Villain of the week victim. Mayu (Comms): Right up your alley, ay Boss? Shush. *Mayu giggles. Sam sighs and shakes his head before looking over to one of the officers on duty.* Hey? Yes, hello. What exactly happened here? Looks... like a strange situation, if I had to say.
Akechi was lazily walking around the building before finding himself in the middle of this situation, as an ace detective his interest was piqued by the scene. "This is peculiar." He thought, ad the bizarre setup unfolded infront of his eyes. I should analyze the scene before making any baseless assumptions. As soon as he managed to Akechi decided to ask permission to the police officers in order to get a closer examination and be able to crack the case.
Sam finds one of the nearest officers, standing near the yellow police line to keep spectators from getting too close and disturbing the crime scene. The man doesn't seem to recognize Sam, raising an eyebrow as he answers Officer 1: As I'm sure you can tell there's been a bit of an incident, it must have taken quite a while for them to set up. We're not giving out official reports to the news yet. Akechi approaches a group of officers and, though it takes a moment one of the officers seems to recognize him and lets him in Officer 2: I'm relieved to see they've sent you on the case Detective, they say you haven't failed one yet. We've already got the victim's personal profile whenever you're ready to review. Akechi gets closer to the crime scene, which makes a few things apparent First, that the strings that seemed to be coming from within the man's clothes were actually carefully threaded through his wrists, there don't seem to be any other injuries which makes this the likely cause of death Second is that the strings seem to be of extremely high quality, strong enough to suspend a man a few feet into the air anyways, a manner that makes them look like some kind of macabre puppet
Sam
*Sam hums lightly.* How do you set something like this up in a place like this with no-one seeing? I mean, obviously they were killed before this and I have to assume it was in the same place. If not you then have to add body transportation to the list. *Sam looks over to the officer and raises both of his eyebrows.* Have you checked the security cameras yet?
You have my thanks officer, you can hand me the files after i finish my examination. leaving the officer behind Akechi would carefully look at everything he could find and confirm everything the scene had to offer. What a bizarre crime, everything about this is unusual... He would then walk towards the officer in order to retrieve the files that were mentioned before. If i may, could i ask some questions? When was the victim found? Does this building have security cameras? Do you have any suspects or leads?
A short, young looking girl approaches the scene, walking quickly as she turns to the closest officer near the street. Upon reaching him, she clears her throat and speaks. Sorry I'm late officer. She bows politely, but the officer can see a sort of smug grin she's trying her best to hide. I'm Hanami, The android sent by Cyberlife to aid in this investigation. As expected, she can't keep a straight face and starts chuckling to herself halfway through her introduction. Sorry. I couldn't help it. Now then... She closes her eyes and clears her throat again. My name is Hanami, I'm a Model CU_9029. I was sent by my owner to help aid in this investigation. Unfortunately I'm under orders to not disclose any information of my owner, but I would be overjoyed to help if allowed.
Officer 1: Of course we've checked the cameras, not that it helped much. There was a localized power outage between 1:30 and 1:37 AM, once the footage starts back everything was here The officer Sam's talking to seemed somewhat offended at the implication, but is still willing to give him the gist of what they were looking for Akechi finds most of the answers he's looking for in the files 1. The victim was found at 6:00AM when one of the maintenance workers came in early to work, finding the body first thing upon entry. 2. The building did have security cameras, however they shut down for a period of 7 minutes early in the morning, after the cameras came back up the body was there and there was little evidence for who had left it. Officer 2: As for leads we're starting by looking into her coworkers to see if any of them might have had any sort of motive, its a basic procedure but admittedly not one we're overly hopeful for. However, the string used to hang him is of very high quality, not the kind you could find at a supermarket. It seems like it was made to be able to restrain people without cutting into them too badly. Hanami goes up to a third officer, who's seen trying to chase off a tall, well-dressed man with blue eyes, though annoyed he seems somewhat relieved to have something else to focus on Officer 3: So you're the help we were told about? We already have one of the city's greatest detectives on the case, so hopefully it'll be wrapped up in a couple of days. Anyways, how exactly are you expecting to assist us?
She smiles as she looks over to the blonde man long enough to scan his face for his identity. She looks back at the officer and reads the profile from her scan. While my predictive systems aren't very good, I can provide onsite forensics. I have no fingerprints, nor DNA, so you don't need to worry about me tainting evidence. I have Nightvision and heat vision, Infrared vision, and as I am made through Synthetic Biotics am resistant to EMP's and other methods of shutting down technology. Though in the case of an EMP, I will need about five minutes to re-boot. I have prolific physical prowess, above that of most humans. And should a suspect need apprehended, I am authorized to use non-lethal force. The officer sees her eyes glow slightly as she makes the last point. Needless to say, while I will not be solving the crime, I believe I can provide valuable aid to those who will.

Sam
Ah. So the culprit cut the power for 10 minutes. That's good to know. *Sam scratches the back of his head.* But doesn't this place have guards or something? Even if not, the cops should have been around if there was an unusual goings on like a localized blackout. Hmm? *Sam glances over at Hanami as she appears.* Mayu (Comms): Android. Bit niche. I prefer Mari. Hmm. Curious. This is truly getting interesting. Where was I? Ah yes. guards. This place looks like it... *Sam spins on his heel and looks back at the officer.* What even is this building for anyway? Like, which company owns it?
Hm... Akechi puts his left hand on his chin, deep in thought. "All of this leads me to believe that this crime was not commited with normal means. Still, it is far too soon to get to this kind of conclusions." Officer! I'd like to ask one more question. You said the rope was not obtained from a supermarket, so would it be possible to trace back the original owner or place where it was bought? As for now i think i'm going to conduct my own investigation, i'll make sure to press anyone who works in this building aswell as check for the control room to see if anyone tampered with the security cameras or if the outage was a coincidence. In the meantime, i suggest you keep your eyes peeled, the killer might be as foolish as to return to the scene. If you excuse now i will take my leave. As Akechi starts to walk away from the scene he notices two strange individuals talking to the other officers. Who might you people be? I was never told o'd have backup in this investigation but since the officers are giving you information i presume you are a part of this aswell.
As Akechi approaches, Hanami scans him for a profile. Name: Goro Akechi Age: Conflicting Data Affiliation: Conflicting Data Occupation: Detective. Hello Goro-san. My name is Hanami, I am a CU_9029 Model android sent to aid in the investigation via an anonymous benefactor. My skills include onsite forensics, night vision, heat vison, infrared vision, and both lethal and non-lethal suspect apprehension. However while I have not been authorized to use Lethal means, they are at my disposal. She bows politely to him.
Sam
OOC: Sorry. Fell asleep. *Sam looks over at Akechi and smirks.* Ah. The detective in charge of the case, yes? Sam Blitz. Genius inventor. I can go on, but know that... yeah, I'm a part of the investigation. I was just passing through but I have a bit of a reputation so I was asked to help and I don't have anything better to do right now, so I agreed. *Sam extends his metal arm out to Akechi in an offer of a handshake.* Nice to meet you, detective.
The officer who was talking to Hanami blinks when she starts actively describing her functions, and waves them on in before she's even halfway through Officer 3: "Sorry I asked, just try to wrap it up quickly then." The officer talking to Sam begins scowling, scratching the back of his head as he realizes that he might not have been supposed to share all that. Now irritated, the man gives Sam a curt response Officer 1: "Do I look like I work here? They don't have a full set of guards on overnight, so whatever they're working on can't be that important." As for the officer working with Akechi he nods, checking his phone for a brief moment as he replies Officer 2: "That's a great idea, we could probably trace it back to a few places that sell the stuff and narrow the list of subjects using that. In fact we could start on it now if you'd like. Best of luck Detective" as soon as he gets the go ahead the officer would begin making calls to find places that carried the specialized strings, leaving the three to their own part of the investigation, whether it be the control room, power room, or just looking for employees to interview, like the one who first saw the crime scene
Akechi accepts Sam's handshake and bows too and his skepticism slowly fades away. My apologies, i know i might've been a bit... forceful but i have to be suspicious of everyone, especially in this case, because for all i know the killer might be lurking among us. Nevertheless i appreciate the help. If i may i'd like to advise a plan of actions since this crime appears to be bizzare. Before that though i'd like to gather all of your thoughts so far if you'd like to share them with me. Later on we can discuss on which path to take. He then listens to the request of the officer he was talking with previously while he starts to write down a few things and make a sketch of the crime scene. If you may i'd like to start, officer. Be sure to let me know instantly if any names pop up.
I apologize. I'm equipped to investigate, but not to make my own assumptions. I am not authorized to give opinions. It has the possibility of throwing off the investigation. After speaking with Akechi and giving another polite bow, she makes note of Sam and walks to the scene. First thing she would do is scan the body for cause of death, fingerprints, and anything hidden to the human eye. She'd also scan the string, looking for composition, fingerprints, traces of blood or DNA.
Sam
Understandable that you’d treat everyone with suspicion, especially strange people loitering around the crime scene. It is quite the bizarre case, after all. *Sam nods his head before looking back to the policeman, not really caring that he was increasing losing his patience with Sam.* So, you haven’t even looked into the company that is set up here? I mean, seems you don’t know who they even are never mind what they do. I mean, if the killer knew the security detail of this place, they must know the place. Maybe an ex worker or maybe just someone suspicious who was staking the place out for a couple of days. Course, seems you haven’t asked about... wait, who was it that died again? *Sam looks up at the officer expectantly*
