Espeon's Library: Restocked and Ready For Learning!
A lavender cat-like Pokemon opens up the doors to the library for the fourth time on-screen, they've been making sure to keep it prepared for the next opening of it, and indeed they have. It's cleaned, got even more shelves full of books of all types, some renovations, and even a nice painting painted by... Who knows? They inhale deeply through their nose... Then exhale in the form of a satisfied sigh. "Gotta love the smell of old and new books." Espeon gets behind their desk, awaiting visitors.
The door opens ominously, as if an incredible presence has stepped in. Could this be a superhero? A supervillain? A mcguffin for the next great Phansite plot to stand the test of time? ...No, sadly. It's just a returning Sylveon with a dusty book. An unconventional looking book to say the least. She walks in with an arrogant swagger and drops the "Pleasures of the World" book on the desk in front of Espeon. Well, hello hello~ remember me? I'm afraid I'm returning this one a little late. Vegas was quite hectic~ but I'm willing to pay late fees. Nothing I can't handle.
Espeon looks surprised at the Sylveon, been a long time since they've seen her, but no matter. They look at the book and shrug. "Nah, it's alright, you don't have to pay. It's not like anyone else wanted that book anyway. Surprisingly, you're the only one to have taken it." They're actually being really nice, guess if you give someone enough time they'll start to enjoy at least a bit of company, especially from fellow Pokemon.
I suppose you could call it of... relative interest~ Sylveon smiled suggestively and leaned on the desk informally, putting her paws on her chin After a long trip howerver, I'd rather enjoy something easygoing. Perhaps a manga, with a retrofuture feel? do you know anything of the sort?
Following behind Sylveon anti-climaticly stood a grown flareon all by his lonesome. He eyed the manga section of the library before glancing an espeon out of the corner of his eyes. Remembering that they can read minds, he repeats in his head "don't think weird thoughts". He probably will after 2 minutes though. Realizing that it would look weird if he just stood there, the flareon just hurried over to the manga section and pretended to be picking out a book. He shrugs shyly, thinking that he would hope no one would talk to him. Or rather, that he wouldn't embarrass himself as he is prone to so, and possibly hold a conversation without getting flustered. Without thinking, he just waves. Not to anyone in particular, he's just sorta waving to the area where the pair that walked in are.
Espeon takes notice of the Flareon, but just shrugs, they are taking a close... Mind read though, they're quite interested. They nervously chuckle about what Sylveon asks, they haven't really checked the manga section too thoroughly, so not only would they not know about any manga like that, there's also bound to be... Friskier ones. "Well, I'm not sure about any of that but, you can feel free to check, the shelves are marked now."
Sylveon eyes the Flareon as he makes his way "stealthily" through the library. She turns back to Espeon and nods with interest. Ah, how helpful~! you know, if you need further upgrades to this place, I have connections in high places... I don't usually do business outside of Shinjuku, but I'll make an exception for you, babe~ Sylveon brushes a ribbon under Espeons chin with a playful smile before popping off the table, living her previous read behind with Espeon. She trots over to the manga section, conveniently where a certain Flareon was. Since things were marked now, she prodded a ribbon across (pecurlrally) the Seinen section before "accidently" bumping into Flareon. Ah, excuse me. She goes back to looking for something interesting. Clearly this one has read all of the shoujo tropes.
The pokemon stumbles back upon being bumped into and turns back towards the Sylveon with a slight blush as they cock their head towards their right elbow, trying to cover up their face slightly. "Oh, um, h-hi." He appears completely unaware of the Sylveon's attempts to lure him as he tries to go back to looking at manga, a warm blush befelling them.
Sylveon slyly smiled, poking at a title that looked interesting by title. She pulled it, giving it a peek before pushing it back in and looking towards Flareon, talking quietly. Do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for new material, you see.
Espeon watches the two. They're a little jealous of their interaction, but they're keeping close readings on Flareon's mind... But also they get a little curious and start reading Sylveon's mind.
"Oh, well..." Flareon begins stuttering awkwardly, wholly unfamiliar of how to act in this situation, he looks at the nearby selection and tries to give the most blunt answer possible. "Bayblade's pretty good. What're you into, anyway?" His blush would thicken at what his inquiry may imply, but he also doesn't mind humoring Sylveon in this instance. Facing the other pokemon, he lets out an embarrassed smile.
Ah, shonen? I think that fits you. She winks before pulling a manga off the shelf. I'm a fan of cyberpunk, myself. Atmosphere, futuristic cities, grimy action, a bit of romance...~ She really put emphasis on her tone after "romance". Surprisingly, the manga she got was Akira. Espeon perhaps made a bit of a mistake trying to read Sylveons mind however. This was bound to bring back some trauma. Lots of TV-MA things, but internal dialogue: [Oohh, this one's fun~ I could definitely party with him. The Espeon too. The Espeon would look great working with me in one of the hostess clubs at Shinjuku~ he can pass as a girl. I don't even think the clients would notice.]
The Espeon heard all that, they weren't phased but... Wait, they weren't in their desk, guess they went away after that in their downtime. At least the auto-checkout machine is there... Wait they just came back in and went behind their desk. "You guys still trying to decide on a manga?"
"Ah, i'm not familiar with the genre. Maybe I could try some of it." Flareon then notices Espeon and has a look of realization, turning to face them "Hey, haven't I smelt you somewhere before?" He maintains a look of complete neutrality, acting like this was a completely normal thing to say.
Sylveon nods to Espeon, smiling at him. It's not like her intentions were a secret anymore, not that she herself knew that. I think I've got what I came for. Though, I'm open for recommendations~ She handed the manga she was holding in her ribbon out to Flareon. If you wish to try it, I could always come back for it later. We can share. Sharing is caring, is it not~?
Espeon shakes their head. "I don't have any recommendations, sorry." They smile at Flareon. "So you finally remembered, didn't you? Smell is a strange but effective way of remembering something but still. Yes, we have met, you offered to go on a date with me, sad that you never took the time to find me again."
"Oh, sorry, it must've just slipped my mind..." Flareon thinks back to when his issues of being a social recluse were more prevalent and feels ashamed for never trying to contact Espeon "Think I can make it up to you somehow?" He laughs worriedly for a brief moment, wondering if Espeon is upset or not.
Espeon smiles. "Hey, don't worry about it, maybe we can spend a lil' time together... When the library closes, of course."
Flareon smiles back, letting a few tears well up due to relief that Espeon wasn't angry. After squinting for a second, he takes the book from Sylveon "Yeah, that'd be nice." He walks over to a reading table and turns towards Sylveon "Thanks, I appreciate it." He then starts reading the novel given to him
Sylveon giggled as she watched the interaction between the two. Watching a romance is more exciting than reading about one, she thought. Hope you enjoy it. And your date, of course. She glanced at Espeon before going to look for something new. You're welcome to Shinjuku anytime. Both of you~
