Brisk Ultimatum
I am sitting on a bench and drink from a tall glass. I fall off the bench and roll along the soft grass. My head starts to hurt as if I had forgot something important. Like some sort of important duty I had to fulfill. Trying to remember, I struggle to get myself off the ground. I was half-asleep and needed to find someplace safe to at least regain my energy.
A pair of ice-blue eyes stare into those of the fallen human. Their feline owner paws at the person’s face. Their whiskers twitch and they give an annoyed huff as if to say “get up already.”
"Oh shit I thought that the title said Brick Ultimatum" User urmom905 has logged off Roblox.
I look the cat in the eyes. "Morgana, we need to hurry to the shelter. The Black Syndicate can attack at any time."
The narrator apologizes for the radio silence. They got woefully distracted by the hell that is gatcha and are now heading to sleep, but will be around tomorrow. The cat licks his paw and rubs it against his white muzzle. “I’m afraid I’ve forgotten that organization’s name in all the chaos. Mind giving me a refresher on the way?” His question ends in a slight purr, and he winds around the human’s leg.
"Right. There's no time to waste." I begin walking away with Morgana and giving a brief exposition "The Black Syndicate are an evil group that do bad things. They are going to unleash a toxic chemical all over the city. We'll be safe in the shelter while the resistance works on the counter-strategy." Eventually, we arrive in an old, mistreated alleyway. I kick away some wooden planks, revealing a narrow pathway. At the end of the pathway is an elevator. I go in the elevator and input the secret code. The elevator goes deep underground. A tall man in a trenchcoat sits opposite the room we arrive in. He spins his chair around to face us then stands up, tossing around a red cap with the words "GET SMOKED" on it in his right hand. He speaks to me. "Well met, Kyle. I'm glad you've arrived safely. As you know, these streets aren't safe. I trust you've been able to rescue at a few civilians?" He adjusts his eyepatch, moving it from his right eye to his left.
The feline yawns and hops onto the nearest table to sit down. “I found him in a sorry state, so probably not many if at all. And if what he mentioned is true, they won’t be around much longer if we dawdle.” Morgana’s not sure if this person can understand him, but this world works in mysterious ways, so it’s worth a shot.
"Hmm. Unfortunate, but there's not much we can do at this point. Follow me into the briefing room and we'll discuss from there." The man enters a door on the side of the room and we follow him. Inside is a long table with papers, blueprints and other documents strewn across it. Hardened Bad-asses sit around the table, grunting angrily and speculating where the enemy will attack next. A lanky man with shaggy hair stood up and looked at us. "So, you've finally decided to join us, Oda. So, how's about it? Could your great deductive skills pinpoint the enemy?" The trenchcoat man replies to the lanky man "You're damn right they could." "So it's, like, battle time?" The lanky man grabs the dual revolvers that were strapped around his back. "Hold your fire, Rogers. There's still the matter of securing the city. And even if we can weather their assault, they'll be unlikely to show their faces if our force is too great." A young masculine voice can be heard from the shadows, it's owner dressed in medieval robes. The silver-haired man walked to the side of the table and laid out a giant map on it. "...Which is where I come in. Now, obviously, if we're all out in the open the Black Syndicate will be scarred off. Lucky for us, this Tokyo is just full of nooks and crannies. This alleyway right here is perfect for an immediate surprise attacks. And the sewer system can be used for soldiers to travel to and fro should a drawn out stand-off occur. Thanks to some very quality intel, I have also discovered that the Syndicate planned to attack the King while the majority of our forces would deal with their assault. That's why were talking the King to the field ahead of time with a contingent of troops who will simultaneously scout out the sewer tunnels and serve as backup in case of an emergency. The second forces that will send will pose as ordinary citizens; They'll have to search for discrete hiding places themselves to be prepared to strike when the time is right. Finally, the front-line. That'll be me, Oda, Rogers along with a small group of mercenaries. We'll show up at the actual time of the assault, putting up the magic barrier to defend us from the chemicals and confronting the Syndicate head on. Ours will be the riskiest job, that's all." The tall man that responded to Oda began to stretch his arms out and spoke to us. "Very well. Make any preparations necessary. We move on my order." Everyone nods in agreement.
Morgana continues to groom himself as the men talk. A King? Mercenaries? My, what a mess. “This is above my pay grade, old man. I’m a thief and spy, not a hired gun. If you have something more suited to a pseudo-feline, then out with it. I don’t have all day.”
