Hollow Park
How long had it been? Weeks? Months? Definitely months. Alex was out of touch and decided not to make enemies with anyone, so he set something up in the park. He brought drinks, food, the occasional balloon as well as setting up a good escape system, just in case. The skeleton butlers were adjusted to their new jobs neatening the area while Alex had to deal with the hard part: The guests. Alex sat at a bench, doing his best not to look deathly afraid of whoever entered
A high-school girl had aimed to go through the park on her way back from school, there was plenty of time and she could use a bit of fresh air after all. Yet something... Unusual, catches her eye. Whether it was the balloons strung almost at random, the unexpected but not necessarily unwelcome spread. Or the skeletons. It was probably the out of place skeletons.
[He was making use of his day off for very different things, such as reading, walking around and merely watching people. A single hour into a relatively normal day and he was already bored out of his mind, until he heard some weird rumors about a certain park and skeletons walking around it. He asked himself, "Could those be Spartoi?" or perhaps any other skeletal demon, or something he didn't know about. Whatever the case was, he would approach the area with his currently Unnamed Rapier in hand.] That's weird, nothing's happening. They don't look like demons... [He wasn't exactly trusting, but he was expecting to get something out of the whole situation at least. He would then recognize the high schooler in front of him, he had been wondering where she had been since they met, approached Sen from behind and tapped her shoulder.] Been a while. Do you have any idea what's happening here?
Sen jumps, snapped out of her stupor by a bony hand on her shoulder. The girl imagined it to be another one of those.. things in the park, but much to her relief it is only Kazuo. The girl lets out a sigh before answering "Those are skeletons." as if it weren't obvious enough. Still, the skeletons didn't seem to be harmful, so.. Given that Kazuo's here... "Is this.. Normal too?"
A young girl walked within eyesight of strange gathering, wearing garb similar to that of a shrine maiden and carrying a large staff, topped off with two concurrent golden circles and points on each cardinal and intercardinal direction, resembling the sun. The staff exceeded her height, making it difficult to carry any way but upright. Her appearance could not be made out in full detail from where anyone was standing, her words sounding like mere mumbles as she cheeringly waves her arms up at a seemingly ill man who limped towards her. Twirling her large staff from one side of her to the other, she leaned it towards the man, a radiant light washing over him. The man, no one longer possessing a limp, frantically runs away from the child as she sighs, remaining still in musing.
["Those are skeletons", yes, evidently. Kazuo clear his throat, trying not to take the chance to laugh at her.] A while back I fought a few skeletons, but I can't say how common these exactly are... Still, it's not particularly uncommon, so to say. In fact, it may be a good thing. [He points with his rapier at the food and drinks lazily.] When I got involved in that one situation, I got this unbreakable rapier out of it. And that over there seems to serve no other purpose but to invite people. Normally, things get violent right away, but these guys aren't attack anyone... [He would press the tip of his rapier against the ground and put another hand on his chin, wondering what to do.] Maybe we should grab something...? Could be filled with poison or worse. [And then, the weirdly divine figure appears.] ... That one's new. You seeing what I'm seeing? That one can't be human, right? Hey! Are you a human!?
"You.. No offense but that sounds like something out of a video game. Just finding these generic enemies and getting a weapon out of it." At least that was the easiest way for Sen to rationalize it. In fact it seems like she's simply started accepting these things, whether it can be considered a good sign or not. Either way the skeletons didn't seem to be harmful, so it can probably be assumed they bear no ill will, but still... Sen approaches the food before noting "Even if its not poisoned, if it was set out by skeletons it might not be safe for humans.. It would be better if we could ask.." but there'd be no need to, as another figure comes out. Sen had some dealings with religion, most of which turned out to be a fiction, yet the way the new person arrives doubtlessly reminds her. "They appear to be trying to follow the Buddha, or some other brand of holy prophet. Am I right?" Sen directs the question at the newcomer, giving them a chance to introduce themselves before considering calling them out.
The girl hears Kazuo shout at him and shakily jolts back, expressing nervousness with a scared frown. She calms down after a second and approaches Kazuo, her long brown hair tied into a bun, the skeletons and other undead seemingly becoming less stable the closer she gets. "H-hi..." She speaks hesitantly, stuttering and with a childish accent. "I'm Asami, and, my brother told me not to talk to strangers. You really shouldn't shout at me like that unless you need healing! ...What makes you think i'm not human?" Her tone would raise slightly, giving off a hint of offense taken at Kazuo's question.

[Videogame? She's not wrong, but facts are facts. It doesn't matter if she doesn't believe him, and besides, he had the sword right there to prove it. He would then focus on the weird girl, Asami. He would cross his arms as spoke. He noticed she had taken offense but honestly, he liked it. He wasn't going to admit it, but it was cute to him.] I'm Kazuo. There, not strangers anymore. [He would shrug and then point with his thumb at Sen.] Normally, humans are like her. Unimpressive, quiet, impressionable and most of all, they don't shine like you do. It hurts the eyes. [He would then clear his throat, after various moments.] ... Ah, no offense Sen. You're the most normal person I've met in forever.
"None taken." Sen narrows her eyes, not really thrilled about being used as an example, but if it served a purpose there's nothing to be offended about. "Though I suppose I ought to express concern over your choice of friends."
Asami chuckles "My brother says that just makes me special! Isn't it a bit of a stretch to say i'm inhuman just because of my talents? Like, maybe i'm just a really special human!"
[He would cough the next few words] "Friends" is a bit of a big word, you're a welcome change of pace... [He would raise an eyebrow at what Asami replied.] I suppose that's not too much of a stretch, I've met some...reasonably special humans myself... [He would offer the girl his hand, taking a knee all of a sudden.] ...Please, accept my apologies. It was very rude to you before. I just wanted to have the chance to get to know you a bit better, since...I will admit to getting an interest for you, so I would like to ask you a few things.
She would blush at Kazuo's gesture, curling up her left hand and covering her left cheek with it as she leans on her staff. "...Uhh, um-" Regaining her composure, Asami grabs her staff with her left hand and instead shaking Kazuo's hand with her right. "N-nice to meet you."
"You seriously don't have many friends?" and somehow that was the most surprising thing Sen'd seen all day. She'd always assumed that most active people formed social bonds. That's simply how society worked, and even that nutcase Eito seemed to know some people. To see that her seemingly normal elder was a bit of a loser made her chuckle "That's even more concerning. You ought to at least talk to your classmates a bit more. Maybe start an occult club." Sen watches the exchange between Kazuo and Asami, just to be safe. Not that she'd be able to do much, but she'd feel wrong not even trying to look out for the younger girl in case anything happened.
[Kazuo himself would blush at Sen's words. Although it wasn't that he didn't know people, he just didn't consider them friends to any degree, and school wasn't that much of a factor for himself, considering he usually was busy doing his own thing. He would reply to her later, right now, he had other concerns.] A-Anyways. Miss Asami... [He would get back on his feet and look at her straight to the eye, still not letting go of her hand, maintaining a gentle grip.] I wanted to ask you about that healing power of yours. How do you do it, how does it work and what does it exactly do? I would imagine your special abilities have a limit too. Maybe you've given it a name?
Asami smiles, leaning slightly closer to Kazuo. "Uh, my healing? I just give people more of what makes a body healthy! ...I never thought to name it." Her mouth drops as she makes an expression of thinking. "Well, it's not really something I think much about. Like how we walk around all day, I can just heal without thinking about it."
Hmmm... so you would say it accelerates the rate at which people become healthier, be it a physical wound of any kind or even illness? What about blindness or even lost limbs, could you return people from the dead? [He would seem to be lost in thought for a few moments, trying to find a way to properly understand the process. Then, he would notice the girl getting slightly getting closer to him, and so he decided to let go of her hand for the moment, hiding his eyes by using his own hat.] Then... Would you say it may be related to that shiny aura of yours? Almost like the sun. Maybe you should give it a name, right? If it truly is special, then you should make it even more so by giving it some kind of name! What do you think, Sen. Got anything in mind? [He was being rather enthusiastic at the moment, even going as far as smiling.]
A girl with black hair tied back in a ponytail would wander onto the scene and raise an eyebrow at the rather stranger gathering before her. Someone she's vaguely heard of, Kaz... Something? Whatever Madoka met him once, but the description stood out given where that was. And two girls she doesn't know of at all, one of who is casually babbling about Supernatural powers. Homura just sighs and coughs a bit while reaching into her hoodie's right pocket. "Yo, how's it going there on this fine day. Where apparently the park is full of skeletons? I'm just gonna ignore that. Oh and thanks Kazuo I think? Madoka mentioned you helping her once so I figured I'd say that. Not sure if you remember her, but we're pretty close so I try ta keep track of that stuff. And nice to meet you two, whoever you girls are. " She'd shrug at them casually, absently recalling to state her own name with a smirk. "Oh, and I'm Homura Akemi."
Alex woke up and noticed the people, and the only thing he could force his terrified body to say and do was wave, smile meekly and say, “Hello. You guys like the skeletons?”
"I think you're getting oddly enthusiastic about this." The way Kazuo shifts from his usual calm demeanor to one of almost child-like excitement is weird, but she also finds it kind of cute to get to see this side of her elder, so the girl plays along. "Maybe bountiful sunlight or something like that? If its related to the glow then stating it is probably an important part of the name." while they were discussing the name of Asami's ability, another girl around Sen's age joins the group. Homura's brief introduction reminds Sen that she had never actually introduced herself, much to her shame. So the girl aims to remedy this oversight immediately. "So it seems you two are acquaintances? I am Sen Megumiba, daughter of the public prosecutor Seishiro Megumiba and member of the student council. Pleased to meet you Homura." Soon another person that Sen had initially overlooked makes their presence known... And reminds her of the creepy undead that had been gathered for a while. The girl shudders before replying "Not really, no. These.. Things don't exactly add to the atmosphere. And its impossible to tell what they're really trying to do. Its.. Unsettling."

Alex managed, against his better nature to run, to work up the confidence to approach the people. This boy, looking like a cultist in black robes, woolen white pants, h-protagonist hair, and backpack drew near and said, shakily, “My name is Alex. Yours?” To him, these strange people had that look, gods among men who could kill with glances with their steely gazes, that and one had a rapier, open carry.
Madoka...? Ah, you mean Madoka Kaname, right? The one with the pink hair! It was nothing, I got involved in that situation by mistake, but I suppose I'm glad she was okay by the end of it all. Are you friends with Sayaka too? I know her as well. Oh, and my name is Kazuo... Takahara, it's nice to finally meet you, I only heard a bit from you. [After this meeting, he would turn to look at Sen, blushing again by her calling him out like that. He wasn't exactly used to being noticed in such a way one moment after another. However, he decided to just focus on the name he was asking.] Bountiful sunlight does sound good, even if it may be a bit of a mouthful... What about- [He would then focus on the weird guy asking about the skeletons. Kazuo... felt the question was thoroughly answered by Sen herself, so he just nodded in agreement. He felt it was necessary to at least ask about the food. He was rather... tempted.] Hey Alex, I'm Kazuo. Is the food fine for humans? Are the skeletons or you planning to pull anything weird? Because I hope all of this is here for fun. ... Look, the skeletons are fine as long as you really aren't planning to do something shady. But Sen is right, they are unsettling at first sight.
Asami waves at the girl who had just arrived recently. "Hi, Homura! My name's Asami. I like to heal people when they're injured!" She holds her staff up and lets the end of it fall into her other hand, which she then sets down on the ground. "My staff is really heavy, though, so my brother tells me to be careful with it."
“Oh! I’m sorry about that, the skeletons are harmless, as is the food.” Alex was eating some. It wasn’t poisoned. He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, and asked, “Should I get rid of them?” Alex was starting to sound less scared, and more like some sheepish kid.
Ah! That's good then, I was all worried for no reason. Sorry if the rapier was somewhat scary to look at. And you keep the skeletons if you need to, unless my kouhai is still scared of them. [He would return it to a scabbard hidden in his coat, making it seem like the weapon was not even there to begin with.] Okay guys, it's nice to have such a friendly chat but I'm hungry already. I'm going to go closer to it. [He would move his neck from one side to another and then wink at Asami, almost as if telling her he still wanted to talk, be it now or later. But first, he would look around for any table that had anything sweet, maybe even cake. He liked that. As such, he would casually make his way towards it.] You don't mind if I enjoy myself, do you Alex? Also, do you have anything alcoholic? All of them are underaged, you know?
That pause in the last name draws a raised eyebrow, almost like he's hiding something. And come to think of it, he actually looks a bit familiar almost... Like, well that can't be the case so she shrugs it off and just keeps speaking with a smile. "Sayaka and I... Definitely know each other. Half the time I can't tell if she just dislikes me, or happens to be jealous or something. And yeah that's the Madoka! And huh, that's a lotta titles there Sen. Cool though, you sound surprisingly usual compared to most people I see around. As for the skeletons, they're mildly unsettling but nothing that bothersome to me. Just don't try any funny business Alex and it's fine. And... Why are you carrying around some big heavy staff? Nevermind, nice meeting you too sure." She'd take a breath after responding to everyone and just find a tree to lean back against, curiously watching those present with eyes that anyone observant would notice hold obvious plans for the event of hostilities.
The highschooler can't help but crack a bit of a smile at Kazuo's suddenly awkward behavior, but she decides against bringing it up again. instead there's the newer kid, Alex who seems to be claiming something? "You're saying those are your doing?" Sen points to one of the skeletons asks Alex. It was nice to know that none of the food was poisoned, or at least if it was the kid had some sort of immunity. But that seemed... Less likely the more time she spends talking to him. "I would feel a bit better without any skeletons breathing down my neck. Metaphorically speaking of course. Seeing as they don't have lungs..." Sen casts a sideways glance at one of the skeletons, as if worried it would suddenly make a move or something. Not that they'd done anything harmful so far, but it was better to be safe.
Alex, though a bit young, seemed to regard speaking about alcohol like an adult, “It’s fine, and the whisky is over there.” Alex pointed to a shady area with a skeleton sitting next to it, holding up three fingers. The skeletons milled about, cleaning stuff, and not much else, save for a few doing “skeleton games” Oh, and there was cake, but of the small single person sort, alongside other foods of the picnic variety. But healing magic interested Alex, and he turned to Asami, “You’re a healer?” He asked, quickly adding, “I do necro.” “And yes, they’re mine, and as you wish,” Alex twirled his finger, the circle he made growing wider for a short amount of time, and the skeletons moved a comfortable distance away.

"Titles?" Sen raises an eyebrow as she looks back to Homura "I was simply giving a few details about me to help you remember. Isn't that part of your greeting here? After all in a city like this you meet a dozen people a day. it would be hard to try to memorize everything." Afterwards Sen looks back to Kazuo, honestly somewhat surprised he'd consider their age, given everything that's happening "Right, I won't be drinking alcohol or anything but perhaps I will try a little." Sen would approach the collection of food and take a small sandwich, something light in order to not seem rude rather than due to hunger herself.
Asami replies, regardless of Homura's dismissal. "It's not just any staff, it's a magic staff! my brother made it so I have something to rely on while I learn to use my abilities. He intended for me to use it my entire life, so he designed it to be used by an adult. I-I can handle it just fine, though! I'm just setting it here so I can go play!" She nods at Alex "Ah, so that makes me a reverse healer for you." Asami heads towards the arrangements and searches for something sweet, any skeleton coming within an arm's reach of her becoming inanimate before collapsing.

[He was also technically underaged, 18 but not the legal drinking age just yet. He was rather curious about the whiskey anyways, since he's never really had it. He knew it was something...heavy. Regardless, he wanted cake. He would grab himself a slice before turning to see Sen take a sandwich.] How are you doing? You seem to be more accepting of the general bizarre nature of things. You going to be okay? [He would then notice Asami also approaching their general direction.] You want cake too? There's some right next to me, or you can probably get sandwiches like Sen here.
A skeleton killer! That ain’t good! Alex skittered off, re-raising his skellies away from Asami and telling them to, in skeleton talk, “Stay away from the death-girl.” A message that would be relayed to all the living bones. He then said in normal English, “Necromancy and healing are pretty similar.”

"I'll be fine." Sen avoids loooking back at Kazuo. His concern is touching in a way, but she's not really used to people asking about her condition. "It was shocking at first, like diving feetfirst into cold water, but once the surprise goes away it hasn't been too bad." Sen merely nibbles on her sandwich. She wasn't really hungry to begin with, and now her gaze almost seems to be somewhere far away. "I'd like to think its the same for everyone."
(edited by Ally_of_justice)
[He takes a big bite from his cake as he listens to her. He was hungry after all.] ...Yeah, that's how it went for me at least. One day, you're living a normal life with "normal" worries like girls and hanging out with your friends, but then you realize how much more there is out there, both good and bad. [He would leave his hat on a nearby bench, he knew it would be fine there.] It's like waking up from a dream, and then you can't go back anymore. I'm not sure if it was the same for everyone here, since... some already seemed to come from crazy lives, but maybe, at some point, they also lost their everyday and boring lives. ... [He realized he was saying more than he probably should, even opening up. He wondered if it was because she really was the only "normal" person he's met in the longest time. He decided to keep eating.]
Alex quietly wandered off to make a skeletal monstrosity, having been struck by the fey mood to do so. It was a hobby for him, “upgrading” his skeletons. He decided to make a long tall boy, each arm made if two arms and each leg made of the same. But he wanted to do more, and made three others, four tall “boys”.
Asami cringes at Alex "Healing helps people. Necromancy controls them." She then follows Kazuo, grabbing a piece of cake and immediately taking a bite. "You think more people would want to be my friend if I show off my powers?"
“What do you mean? This is the pinnacle of creation!” As Alex says this, the long boys lift him up on top of a tree, “See? Magic is a tool, and it can kill people,” Alex snaps and all the skeletons fall apart, “But these powers carry wonders!” The skeletons put themselves back together. “life and death are two sides of the same coin, and I use both liberally.”
Asami, if you have power people will want to be around you, especially if it's a kind power like healing people, but it may also mean people want to use you for it. So consider that if possible. [He finishes his cake and leaves the plate to his side, then grabbing yet another slice of cake.] I tend to run into trouble a lot for example, I would definitely love having you around me. If you want friends, you need to know each other well.
(edited by Kazuo_Takahara)
Asami irately frowns at Alex, tilting her head towards him "Yeah, yeah, two sides of the same coin. That's the same excuse every bad guy uses when their moral failings are questioned." She then starts ignoring Alex and paying attention to Kazuo, taking another bite of her cake. "I have my brother to look out for me, of course, but he can't do much until nightfall. Oh, and, if you really need me to help you, I need to know how to contact you. I don't have a phone."
Well then, what do you normally use to communicate with others far away? Do you have any email, social media or address? [He would look at the girl with his calm but coldly calculating eyes from top to bottom. He would consider the way she looked and what she could do, as well as how she came down.] ... What about some magical mean? Maybe you can come to me or heal me if I really need it from far away. That is if you can anyways. How close would you need to get to me for me to heal, anyways?
Asami ponders for a moment before scratching the back of her head nervously. "Nope, sorry, up til just recently I was raised in complete isolation. And, generally, someone needs to be within my eyesight for me to heal them. I can heal beyond that range, but that's like shooting an arrow in the dark. That's why I regularly search out the injured... Hey, I have an idea, why don't I just visit where you live every so often? At the least, you'd know where to expect me."
Alex sat at the tree, just waiting, listening to it all and waiting so he could pack his things up. email. Social media. Address. Alex knew the last of the words, but never heard of the others, not one bit. The girl was an interesting person, a tad naive, but not really. Alex was the naive one and was internally kicking himself for that. The booze packed itself up quietly, the skeletons then going to stand in a nice orderly rank, ready to be packed up. But Alex wanted to make a move, so he slid down, landing with a slight roll. “ow.”

You...you mean. My place, as in my home. [Kazuo, being who he is, would drop the cake he had before on the ground as he tried to cover his face with his hands rather unsuccessfully. He would take a single moment to retrieve his hat yet again and cover his face with that. Then, loudly clearing his throat, he would speak despite how suddenly his face turned and awful shade of red, he almost looked as if he was sick.] Yeah, yeah of course, I understand. My place. I live at... Kichijouji, near Kichijouji Station, and I live on my own so you can just enter with no issues if able to, because I don't live with my parents and have no siblings or roommates, it's an apartment thing so it's whatever, right? It's on the third floor. My place is always clean, and all so don't worry about anything. Haha...!
(Dropping off for the night)
night Alex would rather get something done, and wrote a note, “I might be a suspicious but I can be helpful. I’m just looking for a place in this world.”
OOC: sorry, I seem to have fell asleep waiting for Homura, I’m glad you could continue on. “I... suppose you’re right. One big event that throws your life into chaos.” It was an unsettling thought, and for it to be happening now of all times was all the more uncomfortable. The girl stands back up, finishing her sandwich before excusing herself “It was nice talking to you, but I still have homework to finish.” Before leaving in a hurry. There were many things worrying the girl, but none of them were the kind that would be easy to talk about with anyone. Anyone but her senior Kokoro, and even then she’d need to call them in private. For now the only place to head is home
Yeah, r-right. See you some other time, Sen. [This day was interesting for him. He had forgotten the last time he got so awkward when talking to people. Worst of all, he seemed to be unable to truly have a piece of Asami's power. Regardless, it seemed like he had gotten something close to... support? For when he was badly injured at any given point. He would return his hat on top of his head and keep both eyes closed while smiling, trying to act like he didn't get all nervous moments prior. He would need to work on that.] This… was a day, to say the least, I'll see you all soon enough. Asami, I hope you memorized my...address, or know how to get there. I tend to be there after 7 pm during any day of the week, except weekends. [He already felt his inner voice mocking him, and as such, his cheeks would be covered in red one final time before turning around and going his way.] Later.
Two, that was Two. With his goals complete, Alex eagerly waited for everyone to walk away, so he could clean up... that and another small task. Slowly, the skeletons started milling about again, walking away and staying out of sight. Alex had one last thing before he could leave. Alex's hood was down, and he was sitting by a tree, being nondescript.
Wunderbar. When nobody was around, Alex produced a small, steely egg shaped thing. It was smooth and shiny and it emanated an evil radiation. This was the small task that he had to do, as an emissary of ChAoS: plant a seed of corruption, which would slowly and insidiously taint the area surrounding it. He(his skeletons) quickly buried a small hole, planted the seed, and then they left, by way of teleportation. Mission complete, I don't have to do anything for another month!
