Kosei High School: [SCHOOL FESTIVAL]
[For once, Kazuo was walking around an entirely normal neighborhood without his hat or coat. Instead, he was wearing the school’s uniform properly. Today, his school was doing he didn't particularly enjoy: A school festival, and anyone and everyone was invited to join in. The first floor's classrooms were centered around all types of food, from sushi, to ramen and even BBQ. Meanwhile, the second floor was focused on different types of events, like some kind of cheap haunted house deal, a date cafe; which he thought was quite horrible; and the signups for the events at the courtyard. Those being a talent show, a music show and even more food stands. Finally, the rooftop was open for anyone who wanted to use it, but really, it was probably going to be filled by those already dating. Kazuo didn't mind any of these, but he didn't want to stay at home all day either. If anything, the people walking around were interesting.]
Asami stands around the courtyard, nervously hiding in the nearest obscured, vacant or otherwise isolated location. She would grip her staff with both hands tightly, trembly slightly. The radiant shine may give her away, but to an unaware observer that would only seem like the gleam of the beating sun. "...Uhhh" She mutters anxiously to herself.
[He had been looking out to the courtyard at the second floor while checking his phone when he noticed the all too familiar sun-like shine. So far, and to his surprise, no one had really noticed her yet. He had to wonder how much his classmates were used to the stuff he was, or maybe they were too busy eating and talking to each other. He sighs and decides he might as well figure out what's up with her. He would make his way by going down to the first floor and finally out towards the courtyard and to where Asami was hiding.] Asami, right…? What are you doing here? [He was genuinely surprised to see her here. He wondered if something bad was about to happen in that case, or if she just... got lost.]
"Ah, well." She would smile meekly at the familiar face. "I've never been to a school before, so I wanted to see what it was like. Of course, I totally didn't expect to see you here, Kazuo-tan." Her tone would portray an obvious lie to a more socially aware listener
...Kazuo-tan...? [He would blush for a moment, not being used to nicknames, not by a longshot, which is made even worse with how doesn't exactly deal with the everyday weirdos while at school. Besides that...he felt she was keeping something to herself, but he wasn't interested in pushing for that.] Were you around the area? I don't get how you would be able to enter through the gates without causing some weird commotion about it. [He would look around and try to "hide" as she currently was. He didn't feel like being watched much.] Do you...really don't know what a school is? You don't look that young. [Then again, she looks sheltered and didn't feel like an average human.]
"Well..." She looks to the ground, pouting slightly. "...i've them on TV. But, i've actually been to a real school. I never thought to ask if I could go, i'd just cause trouble." A long, exasperated sigh would make the normally cheerful girl seem devoid of energy, the shine which she regularly emits dying down to a glimmer.
People may look at you funny if you did go to one. Makes sense. [He would cross his arms and consider his options. He did feel a bit bad for the girl, but that normally wouldn't push him to do anything. Despite this, she did agree to help him before.] You said you would help me if I got in trouble before, so I can at least do you a favor and show you around or at least answer any questions you have, today there aren't any classes going on so we can roam around freely. But... If possible, you should try to stop shining. It's fine if you can't.
Asami perks up slightly, looking Kazuo in the eye and smiling, her shine returning albeit slightly dimmer. "Sorry, it's a natural function. I can only hold it for about a minute." She would breathe deeply for a second before holding her breath, the shine becoming more intense for a second before disappearing. It would then appear again almost immediately afterwards as soon as the girl breathes again. "See?" She would chuckle some "So, um, where do you wanna show me first?"
[Kazuo would hide both hands inside his pockets, turning around immediately as soon as she ask what he will show her. He clears his throat.] You don't seem to be much of an expert about this kind of stuff, so I suppose I can show you a few things in order. C'mon, follow me. [He would beckon the girl to follow him. If she did, for starters, students would keep their eyes glued on her as soon as she passed, them clearly not being used to someone like her. Regardless, Kazuo would quicken his pace as he passed near a few food stands.] The first floor is all but food made by the students around here, each classroom has something different, so really, if you want anything I could get it. Even in this courtyard there's things like takoyaki and yakitori, even hot chocolate if you fancy that.
Asami would stick close to Kazuo, the staring eyes making her nervous and sure to keep up the pace. While she was out of her comfort zone, she was awe-struck nonetheless. Everything about the school would pique her interest and momentary attention, from the layout of the hallways to the design of the floor itself. However, Kazuo would have her undivided attention whenever he spoke, her listening to his every word with utmost interest. "Hot chocolate sounds nice."
Makes sense you want something like that, give me a second. [Kazuo would move closer to the stand to get it right away. He made sure he had enough money first, and then paid as soon as he ordered it. He somewhat wanted some too, but he really wanted something sweet that wasn't chocolate, like cake of any kind. He could buy it later though. Regardless, he would hurry back to the girl, noticing the weird constant looks.] Wow! Your costume sure is nice! I can't believe you found a way to make your clothes shine like they do! Hahaha! [He would say making his voice loud and clear, making most of the people look away immediately, almost as if the explanation was enough to deal with their curiosity; he even forced an overly joyful expression and voice. He would then give Asami her cup of hot chocolate before going back to his usual expression and beckoning her to follow him again.] Hope you like it, the students are anything but experts. I'm sure they do well enough, though. [He would begin walking towards the stairs leading to the second floor.] What do you think of this place? There's always this many people, but the food and decorations are only around once a year.
Asami would graciously accept the hot chocolate, following closely once more. "Thank you, and, I like it here." She takes a sip of the hot chocolate, ignoring the heat. "I'll admit it's a bit scary being here for the first time, but it's exciting, too."
I'm glad you think so, some people grow up to hate school. You need to be in it for at least 12 years, and I'm already in my last one. Can't say that I love it here. [He chuckles as he takes her to the second floor. Both ends of the opposing corridors would something. One would be entirely dark and somewhat creepy with students disguised as traditional spirits and even demons of all types. At least one person was dressed up as Jack Frost and still managed to look creepy with its eyes shining in the dark. This one was the "Haunted House" side, which he felt was cheap. The other one was much lighter, with flowers all around and heart-shaped objects of all types hung on the wall. It was a bit too pink of his own liking. This was the "Date Cafe" side.] The second floor is more of the same, and third floor too, but students of different years hang around different areas. For example, my classroom is at the next floor, and this would be the one second year students use. ... [He didn't know what was up with these guys this year, bunch of weirdos. Right next to them were the stairs leading up once more.] We can...keep going if none of this interest you though, these are around because... I'm not sure, I don't get it.
Asami trembles slightly at the scary costumes, a behavior atypical for her who didn't show the slightest bit of fear towards actual skeletons. However, she would have a more positive reaction at the decorations of the "Date Cafe". She would inch towards said side, signaling her interest. "I've never seen anything like this before." She stops and turns her body all the way towards the set-up. "This place is pretty cute. Can I check it out, please?"
Yeah, knock yourself out, not like we are going on a time limit or anything. [He was admittedly more interested in the scary side of things, as he enjoyed the occult or anything creepy in general, be it curiosity or any other reason. He would take her to the "Date Cafe" and see more of the same decorations, but now they could see students dressed up in this formal wear. The girls would be wearing a fancy red dress, and the boys a blue suit with a bowtie. The classrooms were all set up in such a way groups of 2 people up to 6 could sit right in front of one another, using the desks as tables. Most would be happily (or awkwardly) chatting with one another while drinking a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. A few of them would be playing some kind of “game” asking each other questions they get from random pieces of paper. Some of the students would look at the pair and invite them over, be Kazuo was having none of it.] Sure, the place is cute but it's not really my thing, the pink hurts my eyes. Then again... I'm more used to "sterile" looking areas or just plain grey and white.
"Ah, in that case." Asami confidently accepts the invitation, looking for the nearest place to sit that had the least people adjacent to or across from, otherwise just standing. She would steadily sip her half-full hot chocolate, observing the room quietly. Almost immediately afterwards, she would briefly let out a stressed sigh as she mutters to herself. "This is honestly a lot to get used to..."
[Kazuo would follow and of course sit wherever it was that was furthest away from other people. He silently wondered about the reason she stayed away from people. Was it the big groups that got to her? He could ask but felt like it may be a bit too personal.] You don't have places or events like this back at...whatever is the place fron where you are? I know almost nothing about you. [He would then get a coffee from one of students, which he would gladly drink as it helps him relax.]
Asami shakes her head. "It's a place only me and my brother know how to get to, and it's completely surrounded by mountains so there's absolutely nothing like this..." She would frown slightly, feeling embarrassed. "It's a good place for when I wanna be alone or relax, but it gets really boring especially when my brother isn't there. "
I wonder, if you look similar to the sun, then is your brother more like the moon? [Kazuo smiles at Asami with a gentle smile, now more used to the girl and the situation as a whole. The coffee does indeed work for the most part.] As you already figured out, this is where I spend most of my time, in this school... at least, when I'm not out and running into weird people one after another. [He takes a sip.] I've met tons of dangerous people, but lately I've been running more...well, not as intimidating people. It has made me think about stuff in general. Was your boredom what brought you to the park and here?
Alex had infiltrated the ranks of the students in the haunted house side, as it turns out looking like a cultist made you seem like a cultist. Between his black robes and the fake "ceremonial knife" he picked up earlier, he didn't look much different, save for the summer uniform he pinched earlier. "Alright, I'm going on break," Alex said, and put down the knife and slid on over to the da-te section of this odd fair. He took a seat, not noticing the other people around and received a "cough-ee" . it was strange, but he drank some, and disliked the bitter taste.

Asami would wait for an opportunity to interject. "Um, you're right about this, but..." She pauses for a moment, appearing conflicted. "I'm just as in the dark as you when it comes to why that is, so I'd rather just think of that as a coincidence." She finishes off the rest of her hot chocolate.
I'm a bit confused, you mean you don't know why you suddenly came here...? [Kazuo wanted to think of possibilities like he always did but couldn't come up with any, or they were too wild and he was too much in the dark to properly assume anything.] If for whatever reason you can't tell me that's fine. [He was almost finished with his coffee, but felt he still had a question to make. You seemed a bit tense before, why is that? [At the same time, he felt there was someone else nearby. He could seenthe cultist looking guy but...he just figured he was part of the Haunted House side. So he shrugs.]
Asami would appear slightly annoyed as she sighs. "No, I was talking about my resemblance to the sun. Not to be rude, but you kind of have a tendency to say a lot at once." She would brush it off and smile. "And, uh, yeah, I just came to explore."
Alex got up and began experimenting with his coffee, adding strange amounts of sugar, chocolate powder, and cinnamon. He was of a freshman's build but didn't handle coffee like one. He was relaxed, mostly. All he needed to do that month was plant one seed of chaos, and he did that awfully well in his opinion, and so he had the month off, free to experiment with the coffee. But Alex found this brew to be horrid. So, he used a secret ingredient: magic. He quietly plunked a small pin-sized flare of chaos into the brew and marveled at the change. It was a similar coffee, but with cream and hazelnut, much better.

[Kazuo was taking one laat sip of his coffee calmly, but Asami's comment would make him blush, almost chocking on his drink. He came to the realization yet again that when he can't use his usual approach in a casual situation. He would clear his throat before smiling as best he could.] A-Ah? Yeah, yes. Of course. I'm sorry for that, I usually just... feel a bit tense myself. [He would chuckle nervously before getting up. He'll need to ask for help about all this later.] Sun's going down already, but there really isn't much else to see besides the rooftop. The third floor is used by the staff only today.
Alex chuckled to himself, he noticed the two of them talking a while ago, and decided to make a small impression, a friendly hello in a strange place. What seemed like a normal student in a robe would reveal himself to be Alex to Kaz and Asami. "Fancy meeting you here." That, and he made sure nobody would see the uniforms he pinched on him.

Asami would laugh less nervously, as if she had found it genuinely funny. "It's okay, I understand." She would give Kazuo a reassuring smile, her eyes being more bright and full of life than ever before. "Wait, the sun's down already? Ah, i've completely lost track of time. I should get going. Bye, Kazuo-!" She had purposely avoided using any honorific, as to not risk mispronouncing it again, as hurriedly walked down the stairs, heading out of eyesight as she would soon exit the building.
[She was shining more than before. It was somewhat alluring, maybe even overwhelming. Seems like it has to do with her emotional state.] She was about to use it, huh... [Kazuo would wave at Asami as she leaves, then turning to Alex.] Hey, sorry to leave you hanging but I'm also about to go home. It's been a day. [He would tap the cultist on the shoulder as he calmly walks out.] Let's meet up again somewhere else, Skull kid!
Alex felt a bit warm inside as he left. Was this the sun? Strange. Alex had rarely felt sunlight on his skin before transferring over here, but and he learned to love and hate the sun and its heat. He smiled, and walked out, content.
