Shibuya: [Kosei High School]
Unlike most other casual threads, this one is supposed to, hopefully, remain open constantly for whoever wants to use it, instead of making an individual thread each time. Your character may be a student, they may be a teacher or part of the staff in general, or maybe some guy who somehow got in while NPCs don't really bother to stop you. Whatever the case, here's a setting. Considering there's so many High Schoolers running around, this may work. So feel free to use it. Hidden among the many skyscrapers, streets and parks, maybe even the convenience stores, there is a beautiful building of three floors and painted in white. The front yard is ample and surrounded by giant trees with benches underneath, as well as neat paths taking the rest of the park-like area around the main building, popular spots for students who want to relax in the school ground when the weather is on their side. From here, it is easy to reach the main entrance into the main building, where all the classrooms are placed. The first floor is about what one would expect from a traditional high school; leading to the backyard and having at least three different classrooms on each side of the building, all belonging to first years; the walls looking to the backyard all with windows that allow for a better view back. There’s also a single Store offering snacks, drinks and lunch for those who can afford it, and get there in time for it. Finally, the Nurse’s Office is in this floor, as well as the Principal’s Office. The second floor is more of the same, this time for second year students. Besides that, the Teacher’s Lounge is located here, right in front of the Student Council Room. Then, the third floor, belonging to those going through their third and final year of high school. The library is located in this floor, being quite massive for all those students that would rather read, study, or keep a low profile in silence. Finally, the rooftop. Not many go there, but those who would rather be alone with no one else looking. It’s popular with lovers and close friends. The backyard is quite spacious, similar to the front yard leading to two places: The Gym Building and the Practice Building. The first one is merely a gym, meanwhile the second one is centered around the activities and school clubs students themselves form. There are many different clubs in it, so much so anyone could probably make one up if they wanted to.
Apollo walks into a third-year classroom carrying a ginormous stack of papers in one hand and a bookbag containing a moderately sized windows laptop on his free shoulder. "Hello, i'm the new transfer student. I've completed every single assignment in the curriculum ahead of time. In addition, I have also conducted perfect research of the building's perimeter, so I have no need of a tour. My name is Apollo Sonnenschein, it's nice to meet you." He would attempt to place the stack of papers on the teacher's desk and then make his way to an empty seat.
[Considering Kazuo didn't really have much to do during the week, he would head into the school and silently make his way up to the third floor. He sighs before heading in and noticing something he wasn't really expecting.] ... .......... ................................ [He stares at Apollo in silence, almost shocked, dumbfounded and somewhat weirded out.] ......! The hell...!? Apollo why are you here!? [Kazuo was only wearing his school uniform and does not usually attract any attention, but some students can't help but look at him, like it was the first time they had heard his voice at all.]
Apollo had a responded in a very non-emotional way, his voice lowered as to be courteous to the other students. "To gain an understanding of the typical school lifestyle."
[He would shake his head and approach the man's seat.] I... I guess that makes sense, but how did were able to enroll it? It's not uncommon for people around here to notice... You know... [He would rub the back of his head while sitting next to him.] ... Non-humans.
Apollo would gasp, an irritated glare revealing his response to be a cover-up "Bro, you can't just say something like that in class. Discrimination against us koreans is totally 'unepic'."
That's a new one, I never heard of any korean named Apollo. You barely look it if at all too. I could be wrong though, so say something to me in korean. [He would casually rest his head on his right hand, waiting for the man to do anything. His eyes were calm, but he was definitely challenging him.]
He would sigh "Very well, how about (in korean) Are you an idiot!? Calling me 'non-human' in public is completely unnecessary! You're lucky it just sounds like you're being racist..."
[Kazuo blinks a couple of times after Apollo speaks in actual korean. He knew, everyone knew, of course a literal god would do something like this. However, he just smirks and squints before chuckling.] C'mon man, now you're just making up words. Fine, I'll believe it. You're korean if that's what you want to go with. I barely noticed any accent, you're pretty good.
Apollo would seem annoyed, frowning and glaring at Kazuo. "...Don't patronize me." His gaze would drift off around the classroom, a slight blush washing over his cheeks.
[Kazuo smiles, finding the situation amusing. He now somewhat understands why his classmates talk to one another during class so much. Then again, he can't really get used to slack around.] What do you think so far? School is pretty boring all in all. I didn't think you were the kind to show up around here, in fact I was almost sure your sister would join one before you ever did.
Apollo would become more relaxed. "It's alright, I suppose... Of course, I wouldn't allow her enroll without understanding the system myself. That's part of the reason why i'm here, actually."
Really? I had an idea myself. I can promise not much of worry happens here, it's just a bit stressful. [He would casually point to the front of the classroom, since classes had already started.] You need to read, finish assignments and study hard for the tests and exams. There's work, that's for sure.
He laughs. "It's no problem. I'm used to having to study a lot. Although, I can't say much for the relevancy of the subjects taught here. Don't they teach any practical skills?" He tilts his head to the side and blinks in musement before noticing the class begin and glaring at the teacher with interest.
Most is nothing but theory, the base necessary to head into university right after but... There's also clubs you can join which seems to be generally more practical. [He would tap his pencil on the notebook, not really finding anything worthy of writing down that he couldn't memorize right then and there.] Actually, Sen was suggesting I should make one focused on the Occult, but I'm not so sure.
He snorts, diverting his attention to Kazuo. "An Occult club? Seems kinda silly, honestly... you can't really be sure what kind of attention that would attract, either. That being said, it's not altogether a bad idea." He smirks, turning his head towards the teacher
A blonde haired boy would be silently sitting in the back of the room. The boy would noticeably not be doing anything, let alone paying attention. It was clear just from his expression that he lacked any interest whatsoever in what was going on. He almost seemed to be falling asleep at the moment without much care for any consequences.
As a first year, Sen spent much of her time on the lower floors. Despite her young age, the girl is quite active in after-school activities, acting as class representative as well as joining the government and debate clubs. As such, she'd usually be available for a while after school as well.
[After what felt like an entire day spent on a single class, it is finally finished. Whether he was paying any attention or not was not exactly relevant. Kazuo had a few other things in mind, like a club and what Kokoro told him. With the bell ringing, lunch time officially begins.] You are probably aware, but this is our longest break. If you need to chill, eat or go to the bathroom or whatever you need to do, this is the best time. I'm going to be at the library though, I wanna continue a book of mine. [He reaches into his bag before pulling a book, some kind of tome centered around seemingly fictional clans of old that dealt with demons and other evil spirits.] Uh... but if you see Sen, by any chance. Could you...tell her to meet me at the library when she can...? I uh, I mean. I just, need help with something. [As he says the last bit, he turns around, hiding his own embarrassment. True, he wanted to do it himself, but he couldn't muster the courage to face her all of a sudden at school, considering how active she was.] See you later, classmate. [He then quietly leaves the classroom.]
"Man, felt like I was gonna pass out. I only enrolled because I thought I'd learn a new craft or something but it's just overly complicated junk. Ah well, maybe I'll drop out. Probably wouldn't hurt to make some money... Not that I need to I guess..." With that miserable comment the blonde haired boy would begin to walk out to. With them though, there'd be a strange feeling surrounding them, as if something was watching them as they left but it'd be unclear where it would be watching from.
He nods "I'll be sure to let her know, should I have the chance... well, it's been a pleasure." Apollo would casually exit the room next, noticing Gadello but paying him no heed.

with lunch having begun, Sen heads into the lunchroom like she was accustomed to. The girl is sitting with a group of her normal friends, other girls her age grouped at a table near the middle of the room, talking about the usual things like fashion.
Gad would begin walking towards the exit of the school...but then would find himself at the library. He'd sigh in frustration before muttering to himself. "This really isn't funny... You're doing this on purpose aren't you..." With nothing else to do he'd go an reach for a book... Only for a pile of old looking maps to fall out of the book he picked up. "Really?"
[Kazuo would close his book loudly before turning towards Gad's direction.] Can you keep it down? This really isn't the- [He would notice the old maps. Weird, why would those even be around?] ... Are those yours or something...?
Gad would turn around, unsure how to reply about the maps as he started to try and gather them up. "No... This just sort of happens. Wether I want it to or not. I was trying to leave but now I'm here and then when I went to get a book it's full on old maps. Probably leads to some treasure too knowing my luck..." Gad would be clearly frustrated despite non of what he was saying being nessecarily bad. However, he would sigh once more before trying to return to a neutral expression and explain his situation away in a normal way. "Nevermind, I'm probably just tired. That all sounds too crazy to be true, right? These are probably just a prank so no need to pay them any mind."
I've seen weirder, but you don't have to wonder too much about that. [Kazuo was too used to this kind of thing. Gad at least was doing the same act as him, like they were totally normal or wished to be. That's the impression he had, anyways.] I'm Kazuo, a third year. I've never seen you around, you a new student like Apollo? [He would rub the back of his head, hoping not to intrude too much or say something rude.] Then again, maybe you were already here and I just didn't notice...
Apollo would head into the lunchroom but rather than eat anything, looks for a secluded corner to sit cris-cross and set his laptop on his lap. Not yet noticing Sen, he decides to video call Asami on Skype to check up on her. They would have a typical exchange that one might expect between a father and his daughter.
"Well, I try not to talk too much. I'm always worried I'll say the wrong things and I really don't want to do that by mistake. I've only been here this year though. Had to take a test and everything to prove how much I knew though. Uh, I've never been to school before this." Having gathered the maps up Gad would begin to just try and put them back in the book but of course one still slipped out of his grasp before he could put it away. This map specifically had a large red X displayed in a specific area. "I've seen weirder too... But it still isn't great having to constantly be followed around by weirdness."
I want to say you get used to it more often than not, still, I get how you feel. [He would notice the map that fell down with the red x on it. He couldn't help it, so he allowed his curiosity to guide him as he picks it up and looks through it.] Whatever your deal is, weird or not, I won't judge you. I'm sure you understand we prbably deal with a somewhat similar kind of...uh, context. [He would clear his throat as he points at the map.] Still... Don't you feel curious about this? It may be a prank and all, but you never know.

[i]Sen gets up for a moment, apologizing to her friends before looking around. The girl notices a... Taller, person in the corner with silver hair. Sen seems confused at first, before recognizing Asami’s older brother. The girl thinks to herself: “isn’t he too old to be here?” But thinks better than to act on her inclination. After heading to the bathroom, the girl would return to her friends trying to pretend she hadn’t seen anything.[/]
Apollo notices Sen out of the corner of his eye. Apollo: "Hey, Asami, I need to go for a second, okay?" Asami: "...Okay." Apollo then closes his laptop and approaches Sen as she sits back down. Apollo: "Hey, Sen, right? Kazuo wanted you to meet him in the library." He smiles charismatically
Gad would look at Kazuo with a deadpan expression though he would then look over the map anyway. "It's probably treasure and probably valuable in at least some way. That's a constant if it came from my luck but there's no telling if its dangerous or not. Luck guarantees fortune but doesn't exactly keep away peril."
Might as well follow it, as long as it’s within the school grounds. I don't really feel up for ditching school suddenly. [Not that his "mom" would mind at all, but he still didn't want to deal with any kind of unnecessary hassle. As such, he would pay closer attention to the map and see exactly where it may lead.] Wait, what do you mean "your luck"?
Sen: “Why would he.. Better question why would he send you to? One of Sen’s friends giggles overhearing Apollo’s request Girl A: “oh? So even Sen’s got a boyfriend!” Sen: “That’s not what this is about.” Sen responds with a glare. Though it was enough to quiet her friend, it probably wouldn’t stop rumors from spreading. Just what she needed. For now though, Sen sighs and looks back to Apollo. Sen: “Thank you for relaying the message. This had better be something important.” Sen looks back at her friends with a grim face, apologizing for the need to dismiss herself before heading into the library as requested.
The map would show that the 'treasure' was located just a little ways behind the school, supposedly off in a corner behind some trees. Gad would look a bit nervous to answer the question but would come around to it eventually. "Not sure how to explain it. It's less like my luck and more like luck in general is my luck but... No, no, that's still too complicated. I don't really want to just say it outright but luck is kind of part of my being. A lot of good that does though since I can't always control it."
Really now? So, you are... blessed with a strange luck? Like the random effect favors your surroundings...? That's one to take in. But... that means if I stay close to you, I'll only have good fortune. [He chuckles silently, not wanting to attract any attention. He would close the map and keep it inside his own occultism book. He would then pat Gad on the back, beckoning him to follow him. He felt relaxed around him. It was like finding someone you can relate to.] It shouldn't take too long, let's go see what this is all about. [He would take the initiative and head for the exit, where he would meet with Sen right as he is going in.] Ah. [Kazuo would freeze for a bit before trying to force himself to say something, anything.] ... Did you...cut your hair...? [Yes... flawless. If she was here, then it meant it was either Gad's luck or Apollo sent her. Either way, the timing is something else.]
Luck indeed. Sen... Isn't really sure how to react to Kazuo's question... Pausing for a second as she mulls over the answer... But that's ridiculous, its simple "No.... I haven't cut my hair.. Why would you think that?" Sen looks past Kazuo into the library, finding a blonde man who.. Well at least Sen couldn't recall seeing a student like him, but maybe he was a staff member? "I take it you wanted to introduce me to your friend there? Apollo told me you had something important."
O-Oh, I see. I just, I guess I was just a bit distracted, that's all. [He would snap back to reality when she asks him directly about why she had to meet him there. Of course, Apollo didn't use the right words. It wasn't that it was important. He shakes his head.] No, not exactly. I just met him, and he hasn't even told me his name. Cool guy tho! We...did find this, though. [He would show Sen the old looking map they found previously, marking a specific spot behind the school, in a corner behind some trees.] And we were about to go check that out. It could be anything. ... You can... come with us, if you want.
Gad wasn't sure how to react to this situation. He had started following Kazuo but now it seemed things were a bit awkward now. Though, he did forget to mention something important about his luck... "I'm Gadello but I'd prefer just Gad... Am I interrupting something here?"
Sen takes a close look at the map.. It looked like something you'd see in one of those pirate movies, maybe a prank or something. Still, Kazuo seemed excited about it, so it couldn't be that bad. "So just follow the map and X marks the spot? Something like that anyways. I mean, I'm already here so..." Sen responds in her usual, almost-bored sounding tone. The girl looks back to Gad with the barest hint of a smile "No, you're not interrupting anything Gad. In fact we were just about to go. I'm Sen Megumiba, daughter of Seishiro Megumiba and class representative for the first years here. If this map you two found has anything important I think it'll be good for me to know." Without further ado, Sen joins the party, to follow the map and reach adventure!
Alright Sen, Gad. We're off, so the first real step is to go to the first floor, then out to the yard and... I suppose figure out where to go from there. [He would take a look back again at the map to try and focus on a single task at hand. He would lead the way out the library and towards the stairways.] There's a chance we'll find nothing but considering how old this looks. I couldn't help but feel all curious about it. ... Say, what if it's money? [It's not that he was greedy, but treasure is still treasure. It could be something he could use. Then again, he doubts it was going to be of the same level as an unbreakable rapier. He tries to quicken his pace while going down the stairs leading to the second floor.] Gad said he is really lucky, so I'm somewhat hoping it is money.
"I'm just hoping it's not anything too crazy. This is a pretty normal school though so hopefully it'll be something you'd expect to find buried here." He couldn't say the prospect of something more on his level of weird didn't scare him but the odds at least didn't seem bad for now. He'd just continue following Kazuo for now. Seemed they'd have to walk a bit to get to their destination.
"If its a large amount of money we ought to report it. It could have been stolen after all." The girl comments as she follows behind Kazuo. Sen tries to think of anything she'd heard about the school that might be related. "I do think I remember a story about a warlord's hidden treasure. From all the way back in the feudal era, but there's no way something like that wouldn't have been dug up by now." Sen puts her chin in her hand as the girl tries to remember.. Maybe something from the War instead? Ultimately the girl can't think of anything that seems probable, so she lets out a sigh. "Gad's right, we really shouldn't expect much."
That's true, something that big should've been found a long time ago, hell, probably over 100 years ago too. Hmm, now that I think about it, the treasure may even just be something that meant a lot to its owner. Like an old time capsule. [He thinks to himself while going straight from the second floor to the first one. It seemed like most people were around this floor during lunch. He normally didn't pay attention, considering he only spent his time alone at the library or at the classroom.] That seems more plausible to me right now. [As he makes his way with them towards the back of the school, he thinks of what else to ask.] Ah, right. Gad, do you have any friends here? I know we just met but I suppose it would be better if we knew each other more.
"Friends? I had some back home but I never really talked much to anyone. I guess I should say there's a few odd things with me... If I speak in a specific way to people another odd thing tends to happen. So, I've been avoiding talking to anyone for the most part. Plus, this luck thing can make me seem like a pretty big freak sometimes anyway. Like accidentally scoring 100 on a test that I'm not even in the class for or somehow making a master level dish in a cooking class by getting a basic recipe wrong. It gets really annoying..." He felt as though he maybe talked more than he meant to but it was a change to actually be able to talk a bit about such things. Still he was a bit worried that his new friends might change their tune just based on everything he'd said so far.
"I think I see why you two joined up now." Sen grins as the group walks past the cafeteria, approaching the back yard of the school where the treasure was said to be hidden. "You actually have a lot in common. Antisocial weirdos with a penchant for the bizarre." Sen makes a calm observation about her two companions. Funny how that sort of thing works out so often. "Still, as long as your luck holds out I don't think there's any reason to worry about it. I just hope its not one of those things where you run out on us."
Ha, ha. Very funny Sen, but if you're here, then you can only be as much of an antisocial weirdo. [Kazuo would look again at the map before walking forward, trying to identify the area. He wasn't particularly good with maps, but this was simple enough. He would successfully find the place, "some trees in a corner", the only one being the walls that separate the school from the rest of the buildings.] I think that's where Asami was hiding last time... When we met during the Festival. [The back yard almost looked like a full park with the amount of trees around. Not wanting to lose any more time, Kazuo would hurry towards the spot.] This should be place, but now... should we look around...? Dig...? Hmm... [Kazuo would start looking around the area, to see if he could find anything out of place.]
Gad would look to a specific spot while Kazuo looked around all over. In that spot he could feel something else projecting around the ground. For a moment he wondered if this was a good idea but they had already come this far anyway. "It's here. I guess buried. How should we dig it up? Though, I'm really not sure if it's something we should mess with. It feels a little...odd." He'd also look back at Sen, a little confused what she meant. "Run out? I don't usually have a good reason to run away. Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if I was brought right back to whatever I was running away from."
*By chance, a crazy old coot had wandered onto the premises carrying 3 shovels in his arms, all appropriately sized to be used by the group looking for treasure. He stands in front of the spot where the loot would be burried, spitting on the ground right next to it.* If you find any gold it's mine!
"I'm just making sure you two don't cause any damage. I actually have friends remember?" Comes the girl's curt reply, an attempt to distance herself from the other two in one way at least before the group comes to the right spot. Sen's gaze passes over to Gad when he addresses her. It takes the girl a moment before realizing her error "Sorry, I meant if your luck ran out. If you were to suddenly become unlucky at a bad time there would be some trouble..." Finally, there was the problem at hand. Sen hadn't brought along anything to dig with, and the dirt didn't look soft enough for them to reasonably use their hands. So, knowing the most about Kazuo, Sen would look to ask him. "No one seems to be looking right now, would any of your abilities happen to be useful for digging? Unless Gad just happens to find a shovel that is." Just as the girl was saying it, some strange old man appears with shovels.... This is probably Gad's luck coming in. Either way, the girl sighs. "Like that. Alright, I guess we just have to get started. If.. That's ok." Sen looks to the crazy old guy with a hand outstreched to accept one of their shovels, before looking to begin digging herself.
(edited by Ally_of_justice)
[Kazuo would think over what they could do. He hadn't really used his abilities in front of her, but at this point, does it really matter? She knew something was up with him anyways.] ... Yeah, I have something. Just give me a sec. [Kazuo would clap his hands together while three void vortexes appear above him, in front of him. He would take then a deep breath, not exactly used to release more than one at a time when he's just starting.] Imaginary 3.0 - Lawful Blades. [From the void he created, three blades of peculiar shape would come out, and as soon as they thrust themselves into the ground, the vortexes disappear. The blades are more wide and a bit curved by the tip, making them somewhat reminiscent to shovels.] There we go, this should be enough. Hopefully this shape works, I don't think I can summon anything that isn't lethal with 3.0. [He would grab the "shovel blade" and get near the spot Gad had found, and would start digging right away. He would look at Sen for a moment before looking down to work.] By the way Sen, I also have friends. I mean, that includes you. Right?
Gad was a little confused by the strange man but decided he might as well accept his offer anyway. That was when Kazuo pulled of his trick as well, now he showed some suprise. "Oh, your a mage? What practice even is that? I only know a few low magics but I don't remember reading about any that can do something like this. Oh, sorry, getting distracted again. I'll help dig." Gad would start digging too but seemed to have some trouble, as if he was exerting himself just by doing a bit of digging. If his gut suspicion was right then this would probably lead them to an ornate chest if some kind.
"That's um.. Not really what I..." Sen trails off, avoiding eye contact with Kazuo and focusing on digging instead. She wouldn't really feel comfortable with one of Kazuo's, despite having asked him for it, instead using the normal shovel the strange man had brought. "Lets just find whatever it is immediately. The bell will ring soon and I'd rather not be outside when that happens."
[The bell is a problem, but not the summoned swords? Kazuo merely assumes they can probably hide them anyways. After a moment of digging, they come across an ornate chest of some kind (Indeed, what luck). He seems to be shocked for a moment, not really expecting any of this to actually end in anything.] I... am honestly surprised about this. An actual chest, go figure. [He would let the sword he made fall to his side, instead, pulling the thing out from the ground, admiring it further before quickly trying to open and see what was inside. Now that a treasure was an actual 100% certainty, his curiosity went into overdrive.] I still don't understand it! That something like this was here...!? Man, this is so... ! Uncommon, to be honest.
"That's incredible." With the chest revealed, Sen sets her shovel to the side, blinking momentarily as she looks at the thing. The chest was made of some silvery metal and decorated with jewels, though the girl couldn't tell whether they were real or fake. Still, Sen feels the need to remind the others "If there's any gold in there we'll have to let the old man have it." Sen looks over Kazuo's shoulder, peeking inside the box as she adds "That is the law he set down after all."
An odd spectral entity would explode out of the chest as its open before starting to fly away into the sky. An ancient laughter could be heard growing more distant as the entity flew away. The inside of the chest simply carried in it a old wakizashi along with a strange looking compass. Both items seemed to have a strange presence about them but Gad seemed to focus more on the compass. "I think I remember that thing from somewhere. It's a blood compass. Should be safe for anyone to use...that sword is giving me a bad feeling though... Also I'm not sure what thing was that flew away but maybe it's not going to be a problem?"
Please Gad, it always is a problem. But I'm sure it'll be fine... for the mean time. [Kazuo would keep his eyes glued on the old wakizashi. He could tell there was something off with it, but it was a weapon regardless, and small enough to keep hidden all the time.] What's a... blood compass...? [He says, trying to look away from for the moment, but keeping his right hand resting on the chest's side, ready to grab onto the weapon if necessary.] Hah, no gold though. Though I guess these items could be sold, if anything. Not that I would.
"That.. Was a ghost? That didn't sound very lucky at least" Sen's eyes open wide as she follows the spirit with her sight... It didn't seem to lead anywhere good, and neither did this "blood compass". Or the other cursed weapon. Still, the girl feels obligated to mention "Maybe we should just turn these in? I mean, we don't really need a cursed sword."
Gad would actually pick the compass up, not even bothering to show any caution towards it. "I remember this from studying a certain low magic a long time ago. They made us do research on magic tools that cause self harm. Though this thing just requires a drop of blood. I think it's like, it shows you the way to a named entity as long as you either love or hate them. Lasts something like a day each time?" He's try and focus on the sword next. He could tell it had a familiar power but it's origin was hard to determine. Regardless... "It'd be a bad idea for most people to use something like that. Turning it in might be a bad idea too. Just touching artifacts like that can have unpredictable effects. Maybe I should at least examine it first..."
So… a compass that shows you the way towards someone for a drop of blood, and a mysterious sword with side effects. [Kazuo had no time to waste. It wasn't like he was going to sacrifice himself for it, but his interest was set. His own image would begin to duplicate into a ghostly figure.] Imaginary 5.0 - Doppel [The figure would quickly take the shape of a female humanoid with her long hair moved to the back. Her eyes were serpentine and yellow. Finally, the body, although seemingly naked, was really covered by random bits of clothing and what seemed to be scales serving as armor. The being would try to reach out to the blade and grab it.] Whatever that could happen to me while holding this blade will happen to this Doppel, but I won't feel any of its effects. Consider this a simulation of what would happen if I grabbed it myself. [For example, if the blade would have a severe effect on his mental state, physical health or even some damage to his soul, Doppel will disappear immediately.] No need to put yourself in danger, Gad. We can decide what to do with this.
the sword would immediately glow with a dark but divine light as soon as it was touched. The grass nearby would begin to lose its color as it slowly but surely decayed away. Even those present would begin feeling a little nauseas though the mimic was free of this effect. Gad would also seem oddly fine as if the effect didn't even phase him. Instead Gad would just seem serious for a moment seeing this effect. "Things Fall Apart...I recognize this power. To think that's what it'd be." The doppel would instantly disappear soon after though as the true effects of the divine power took hold. "As I thought, divine corruption..."
Yeah... no, I'm not keeping this thing. In fact, the compass seems like a better thing to have around in general. [He at least made sure Doppel would drop the sword back inside of the chest before disappearing. Kazuo would take a deep breath before forcefully closing the chest and pushing it back into the hole.] Well Gad, that was... something. I would ask you more but whatever it is you deal with; I'm clearly not well equipped enough to face it. [Kazuo sits down on the grass, clearly taken aback by the sudden effect. It was only a little, but it was clear that its complete power was beyond that of a human, or even a demon.] ... Haha...hahahaha! Man, that was a bit scary but fun...!
"Scary is correct. Fun I don't know about. I'm just glad an artifact is the worst thing we dealt with." He'd toss the compass to Kazuo, once again showing extreme caution as if he was struggling to toss it in some way. "I probably don't need something like this anyway. If I really needed to find someone then I'd just need to be lucky." He almost seemed to laugh a little about that but it was more of a nervous laughter than anything. "Wish I could repair this grass at least... That's not my specialization though."
[He would catch the compass as he looks at it more closely. It would help him find someone he hated, or someone he loved. He smirks before standing up yet again.] Thank you, Gad. I'll take care of this one for sure, but... tell me something. [He clears his throat as he tries to speak in a more hushed tone.] When you say "love"... how would you exactly describe that...? It is like romantic or like, family...? Just friends... ?
He'd try to stay hushed as well as he tried to recall details from his studies. "Uh, not too sure, I only read about it in a book before but I'd guess it means love and hate in a more conceptual way. That's often how magic works..."
Okay, so it could really be anything. I guess I'll find out when I have to use it... [He begins to speak in his normal voice once more, saving the compass inside his pocket.] That was something but... I think now we could- [Before he can continue, the school bell rings, signaling the end of lunch and that classes were about to start again.] Eh, doesn't matter, class is back yet again.
Apollo would frown, upset that his conversation with Asami would have to end. Were any other student to observe him, they would notice that he hadn't eaten anything the entire time he was there. He then makes his way back to the classroom, placing a sketchbook on his desk in which he begins drawing various runic weapons and armor. "It's no good. As long as we don't know the enemy, I won't be able to make any appropriate gear." He raises his fist, resting his head on it in frustration.
[Kazuo would sigh before choosing to just take the initiative and go back. Not like they had to deal with class for too long. He would then take a piece of paper from his pocket, leaving it on Sen's hands.] That's my phone number, sorry this took such a weird turn, but we can probably talk later. If we don't meet by the end of class just uh... I guess say hello to Kokoro for me. [He would keep his eyes closed with an embarrassed expression as he hurried back to the classroom. He would get back to his seat, noticing Apollo was back already.] Where were you the whole time? Did you go buy lunch or something?
Apollo faces Kazuo, smiling. "Of course not, I have a very specific diet so I only eat at home. What I was really doing was calling Asami. It would irresponsible of me to leave her completely unsupervised without at least checking up on her, right?" He would say this nonchalantly as he taps his pencil on his desk.
C'mon, it's not like she will destroy something or screw up on her own. She seems to do fine on her own. [He thinks back to the spell that went wrong, but he wondered if she did that one on purpose or if she really can't do spells that easily. He would then get closer to see what it was he was drawing.] By the way, what you got there? Is it one of your abilities to make what you draw a reality or something to that extent?
He sighs irately. "You're missing the point. I'm her sole guardian, do you truly believe it would be alright to not look after her to the best of my ability, despite whether or not it is necessary?" He then chuckles holding up his sketchbook and tapping it with the eraser end of his pencil. "And, this? It's power is a bit more abstract than that. It allows me to take visualized ideas and, get this, permanently imprint them on the paper. Pretty crazy, huh?"
"I'm still not sure if you should take that. But I won't stop you." Sen crosses her arms with a sigh, expressing her disapproval. But its not like there was anything she could do about it anyways. Soon, the bell rings and the question becomes moot. Sen immediately turns back to the school, however she's stopped by Kazuo. "Oh, right, we've never shared these, haven't we? Alright, I'll call you after class so you have my number." Sen runs ahead before realizing the full extent of what he said. And the thought fills her with dread. The girl shudders, thinking of what her senior could have possibly said to him. But there's no time for her to waste, it'll simply have to come up once classes are over.
[Kazuo would... take a deep breath and let his friend think like that. He seemed proud, so why take that from him?] That's great man, I'm happy for you. By the way, we found a little something, I met a guy named Gad and together we found this in the back of the school. [He chuckles before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a red compass.] He called it a Blood Compass. Basically, if I give it a drop of blood, it should show me the way to someone with a name that I either love or hate. What do you think?
Apollo skeptically glares at the compass. "Huh, shoulda told you I could already do that before you went and brought it back. Well, my way is painless, at any rate." Rather than consider its function, Apollo would instead admire the aesthetic design of the compass.
I can't expect you to be near me all along, that sounds more like something Asami would do. Besides, what is a drop of blood, we humans have enough of it. [A single cut or bite near his nails should be enough to do the trick. But of course, he didn't need it right now. He didn't hate anyone. But when it comes to love... he wasn't sure.] Really cool anyways, I didn't expect anything like this to be hidden in school... ... Hey, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to make an Occultism club. [An idea suddenly sparked within him, at that very moment.]
He snorts slightly "You make it sound like a toy." He then smiles, tilting his head forward slightly "In all honesty, I think that showing it off in a club would be the best use of it. It seems like it would make the perfect exhibit for someone with passing interest in this kind of stuff."
Yes, but you ignore the true intent of the club. [He would give his friend a sly grin while showing off the compass once more.] To find more of this kind of object. We may be able to learn about urban legends and stories about school, about ghosts and haunted places at certain times. I'm sure we'll find something of interest. [He would return the object to his pocket before turning to the front of the class.] Sen did mention something about a warlord, and the library itself had a few old looking maps.
Apollo laughs briefly, his expression gradually becoming more solemn. "And you intend to lead this... but just what kinda leader would you be? Do you intend to consolidate your own power, take what you can and use your fellow man as a tool to achieve that? Or, rather, would you allow your group to flourish equally with you? ...It's quite a paradox, isn't it? Alas, what answer you make for yourself has no small impact on your fate, as well as the fate of those around you. Amusing, isn't it?" He then closes his eyes in musing, slowly stroking his chin.
Sounds like a paradox, but it's just a school club, what's the worst that could happen? As long as we prove or disprove myths and legends then that's fine. And... [He lowers his voice, not wanting anyone from class to hear about this.] Between you and me, to perhaps make the knowledge of demons and the strange more common among some. ... Well that, and I somewhat want to meet more people. [After Gad, he wondered if his luck would take him to more people in a similar situation as him. When it came to being a leader... he didn't exactly know what he would do. He wanted more power, that's for sure, but if he started making friends, and began caring for those around him... he can easily disregard others and focus on himself, but when he cares about someone, he cannot reach into such cold focus.] If I make it happen, are you in?
Apollo playfully smirks. "What, you'd think I'd go through all this effort just to say 'no'?" He smiles, putting one hand in his pocket and scratching the back of his head with the other. "Asami would be able to easily participate in something like that too, wouldn't she?"
She seems like the type for it, but she would need to join in first of all. Have you decided if she's going to become a part of school? I think her starting as a first-year student may be for the best. [He says casually, placing both hands inside his pockets and sliding down a bit, laying on the chair like he was at the beach.]
Apollo shakes his head, giving Kazuo a look of questioning. "Wouldn't it make more sense for her to be with students her own age? Elementary school would make the most sense, but even then she sticks out like a sore thumb. Until I find any real solution to that, i'll have to continue to keep her in private education."
I can never read you guys, no offense. [He had a hard time figuring out the age of anyone anymore. First he meets a lady that's as old as humanity but looks 35, and then a pair of family members that may be older than himself.] ... Wait, what do you mean solution to that...? Man I don't get any of this. [He rubs his head calmly with boths hands, but he had no way of logically putting 2 and 2 together right about now.]
He chuckles. "What, you think every one of her peers would just be completely accepting of her status? Why do you think she's so reclusive? It's not like she can hide it, either, like me." He solemnly closes his eyes before glaring at Kazuo playfully "Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?" Kazuo was, in fact, looking kinda dumb from Apollo's perspective
Hey, I'm only knowledgable about humans and then about demons. I don't exactly know much about anything else. [He crosses both arms while keeping his own laughter concealed. After this, he would remain relatively quiet to focus on the last class they had for the day. Boring stuff so Imma keep it to myself. After it, the bell would come again, but this time signaling the end of class. Kazuo would slowly begin to put his stuff back inside his bag, yawning before closing it. He would turn to Apollo.] Day's over, a lot of people generally stay around for the clubs they joined or anything else. I normally just go home but... ... [Kazuo would check his phone to see if he had any message or missed call.] We could look into the club idea right now, unless you need to go check on Asami. I get it if you're going to do that, I still have all day to screw around.
Apollo stares out the window for a few moments before turning back to Kazuo. Apollo: "Actually, I just of something important. You wouldn't happen to know where Sen would be during this time, would you?" As for Kazuo's phone, he would notice that Asami had texted him for the first time right before class had ended. Her message would simply read "Hello? Kaz?".
I have no idea, no. Then again I could look for her around the school, and if I have no luck then I can just try some other time. [He would see Asami's message at that time.] Huh, actually your sis just sent me a text... [He would text back "Hey, been a while. I'm with Apollo and class is over." After sending it, he would return his phone to his pocket.] Ah, Sen does have my number, so maybe she'll call or something. She did say something about that before...
As if on cue, Kazuo's phone begins to ring. It took the girl a few minutes, but Sen fulfills her promise, giving Kazuo a call so he has her number. Once the other student picks up, Sen doesn't waste any time "Hello, this is Sen Megumiba, calling as promised. You mentioned having something you wanted to talk about?"
[He would look at the caller and hesitate for a moment before answering the call. Taking a deep breath, he would reply.] Yes, yes I guess I had something to talk to you about. You wanna meet up somewhere?
"I'm on the roof." Comes Sen's curt reply "The government club meeting is starting in twenty minutes so whatever you want to talk about it needs to be quick."
The roof. Gotcha. [He would hung up and take a deep breath. He was just a bit nervous, only a little. But he wanted to hear it all from her, so it doesn't linger in his mind for too long.] Alright, I'm off, see ya Apollo! [Kazuo would pick his stuff up and quickly look for the extra set of stairs that lead to the roof. Once found, he would quickly make his way to the roof. He would keep both eyes closed as he goes through the door.] ... ...... .................... ...Sup.
Kazuo finds Sen standing on the rooftop, gazing over the schoolyard through the building's chain-link fence. The girl turns around at the sound of Kazuo's voice before replying "Um... Hey..." Sen holds onto the fence with one hand, as if looking for a way to steady herself, remaining silent for a few awkward moments. Finally, the girl breaks the silence to ask "Kokoro didn't tell you anything.. Weird, did she?"
Where Kazuo to check his phone again, Asami would send a new message reading "Okay, just wanted to say hi!". Meanwhile, as he left, Apollo nods and goes back to absently staring out the window. Apollo: Heh, see ya.
[Kazuo, after hearing Sen's voice, would slowly open his eyes, deciding that it would be best to get closer. He would calmly, or at least, appear to be calm as he walked to the chain-link fence.] It depends what kind of weird you mean, she did say call me cute and then took a picture of me. [He wasn't going to tell her why, he wasn't going to admit it just like that. He would stand next to the girl, pressing his back against the fence.] Then there's another type of weird like... ...how do I put it...? ... Are you... married in any way? Or going out with anyone?
"Yeah.. Kokoro can be overbearing like that." Sen chuckles, imagining the situation, only for Kazuo to mention... Another thing. Not quite what she had dreaded, but one perhaps even worse. Sen gives a quick response "I.. No. I keep telling her no!" Still, Sen's face grows a little red at the reminder before she continues "You really can't trust anything that woman says. She's way too eager to mess with people like that."
[Kazuo was a bit more focused now. It may be that it's just the two of them together right now, or maybe that Sen was showing actual hints at emotions.] So... you're saying I'm not cute? [He would say with both eyebrows raised, with actual curiosity. He would then cross his arms and silently await for an answer.]
"I.. No, that's not what I meant. " Sen looks back over the schoolyard again, trying to avoid Kazuo's gaze as the girl shifts nervously side to side "I just meant... I mean I'm way too young to be married, let alone to Kokoro. It has nothing to do with how cute you are."
I figured that too, it would be illegal for you to do it. You would never go against the law. [He chuckcles, trying to use the jokes as a way of keeping calm and relaxing in general.] She... did say you've talked about me, and that part's been bothering me. You say I shouldn't trust her, but that's why I'm asking you. ... It's a bit awkward, isn't it...? It's like... I'm tense.
Gad would find himself back at the classroom now as well. He hadn't spoken much since the bell rang mostly out of exhaustion. He would seem to be quietly asleep most of class, sitting off in the back in an attempt to not be noticed. As class ended though he still wouldn't quite be awake yet. Still passed out in the back of the class.
Apollo would snort amusedly, noticing Gad's unconscious self. He nonchalantly walks over and assesses the young man before standing right in front of him and T-posing. "Fool."
(edited by Sunna)
Gad would slowly wake up, looking up at the odd man posing in front of him unsure of what to make of him. "What? What are you even doing? Is this some byproduct of madness? ... Wait, is class over?"
Sen doesn't say anything for a few moments, looking out over the schoolyard while holding onto the railing before starting off. "Right... My justice thing... You see, since I was a child I've always looked up to my father Seishiro. My father's justice was to hold firmly to the law, and let it guide his actions. The law is impartial, and doesn't care for family. My mother... Didn't exactly agree. She always viewed it as her motherly duty to protect me. Whatever the cost." Sen stares sorrowfully out into the street for a few more seconds, before letting out a sigh "Anyways, sorry about that. What matters is that I've chosen to follow my father's justice. I imagine it must come off as strict, but it comes from a place of sincerity."
Apollo breaks into a fit of laughter, holding his palm to his forehead in amusement. "Your reaction was comedic. And yeah, class is over. By the way, I don't believe we've met. I'm the new transfer student, Apollo, as I explained at the beginning of the day." Apollo would then courteously hold his hand out to Gad to shake.
[Kazuo would shake his head before turning his head to her.] It's fine, I don't mind if you tell me that kind of stuff. If you feel like you need to open up... I'm not too far. [He would rub the back of his head, taking in the silence for a bit more before speaking again.] Even if you're strict and a bit cold, and even if I don't hold your exact views... we are friends either way. After all, you reminded me of a few things, even if you didn't mean it.
Gad was still a bit confused by this but he saw no reason to be rude. He'd extend his hand back while introducing himself. "Gadello Visalli, I prefer just Gad though. You're the transfer student right? I actually just transfered here this year too. Though I got here before the year began so I guess I wasn't as big of a deal."
"Right, yeah..." Sen holds onto the fence for a little bit longer before breathing out a sigh "We're friends. For now at least. A.. Anyways." Finally, the girl tears herself away from the fence, taking a few steps towards the middle of the roof "I need to head to the government club now. Good luck with your own work. And don't hesitate to call on me if you need to talk." with that, Sen would head back towards the school, moving for her next activity. one after another
Huh...? W-Wait, I still need to ask you something! [Kazuo would try to stop the girl by holding her arm out of instinct. If he faield though, he would stay at the roof for a bit more, just thinking.]
Apollo smiles, speaking with a more casual tone. "What a coincidence, Kazuo told me he just met you as well. What are the odds that we would both meet the same person on the same day? Well, either way, nice meeting you."
Kazuo grabs hold of Sen's arm. The girl reflexively yanks her arm out of his grasp, but still turns around to face him "Just.. Make it quick. What do you want?"
[He would sigh and take a deep breath before speaking directly. He already knew the answer but what did he lose by trying.] I'm following your advice and I'm thinking about starting an Occultism club here. I need you to help me make it and... I was wondering if you would want to... join it too, as the second in command. [He tried to keep a serious expression, but he was blushing anyways. He didn't know how any of that worked, but he wouldn't admit it. Regardless, he had to figure out a way to put it that somehow made sense.] I think... I need you.
"The odds? Pretty good actually. Nice meeting you too I guess... Uh, are you like Kazuo too or did he say anything weird about me?" Gad would be a bit worried. He hoped Kazuo hadn't gone and started telling people about his weird circumstances but thinking on that it wouldn't make too much sense for him to have done that given the strange powers Kazuo seemed to posses as well. "I guess he wouldn't have said anything... Sorry, I shouldn't assume he'd do something like that."
"Right, paperwork. Of course." Sen lets out a sigh as she thinks. The girl hadn't actually started her own club of course, the only ones she joined had been there long before, but she did make sure to familiarize herself with procedure "Its simple really, you just need to have the signatures of at least four students saying they're interested, as well as a faculty member willing to oversee the club. Fill out a few forms and turn them into the office and you'll be able to meet in a week." Sen grins subtly, glad she was able to remember everything before she starts heading away, back to her usual picture of emotionlessness "I'll consider joining if you need another member but for now I'm far too busy. Good luck forming your club Kazuo."
Y-Yeah, thank you Sen. I'll remember that...! [He would nervously laugh as she simply allows the girl to leave through the door. He would take a few deep breathes and hang on to the fence. He would take yet another deep breath and...] Why didn't I ask about the "heartbreak" part!? Kokoro outright told me Sen liked me!? I-I mean I could've just asked outright! [He says in rather comical kind of frustration.] B-But then what do I do!? I mean I don't like her! I-I mean, I... don't think I do... !? Do I... !? I-It's also possible I just... misread the situation! Hahaha! That's... probably it, right... ? [He sighs before sitting on the floor and resting his back on the fence.] Damn it, I'm stupid.
Apollo would chuckle, Gad's worry making him slightly "Just that you were with him when he found that blood compass. And, i'd say you're more like him then I am. Are you some sort of occultist too? You should know he's starting a club. You interested? He'd be pretty lucky if he got the both of us to join, am I right?"
"I guess I'll join if he needs another member. Occult though, guess you could say I have a lot of experience with that. It's kind of common place where I'm from. Blood Compasses would be considered pretty low on the weird scale though." He was relieved at least that it seemed this person simply thought the stuff he knew was based on the occult. "T-that doesn't mean I'm weird though. I don't actually like getting too involved in that stuff. I just used to get mixed up in it a lot while looking for work."
"Ah, so in that case, you wouldn't be too freaked out if I were to say i'm some sort of..." He pauses and makes a thinking expression, snapping his fingers rapidly as to pretend he couldn't think of the way to phrase his response before leaning slightly closer to Gad and whispering. "...divine entity."
Gad seemed a bit surprised by this statement but not completely shocked. He was more surprised that he hadn't noticed sooner or perhaps there was a reason for that. "Cool joke but that's not exactly something most people just casually throw out there where I'm from. Besides, I wouldn't know all that much about divine beings anyway..." Hopefully, if Apollo wasn't lying he wouldn't have an easy way to tell wether or not Gad was telling the truth. Still, he almost wondered why Apollo would randomly decide to tell him that even if he was...did he suspect him? Already? Gad wasn't sure if anything he did was too suspicious but perhaps he would just have to wait and see.
Apollo looks baffled for a second. "And, here I thought someone so versed in the abnormal would take me at my word. How would one even non-casually throw that out? I'd think anyone who actually believed it wouldn't make a big deal of it anyways. By the way, where are you from?" He then gives Gad a look of intrigue, possessing the ability to make Gad's knowledge his own and yet, electing not to use it because he didn't feel like it.
"I don't really like being interrogated like this. I have my reasons for making a big deal out of it too. It's somewhere far away though but also somewhere where it's not uncommon for people to venture far from as well, provided you know how. I specifically grew up in a merchant controlled group of city-states. Plutocracy might be the best term for it. My parents were merchants too but...I left after a while. Just wandered for a long time. That's how I came to see a lot of weird things." Gad wasn't sure what to make of Apollo's questions. They didn't come off as overly offensive but he was still worried that they were leading up to something. Perhaps that was just a form of paranoia he developed over the years though.
Apollo stares at Gad for a moment, confused "Interrogation? If I wanted to do that, i'd just read your mind. You're the one giving me your whole history here." He chuckles once more, slightly mocking Gad. "And which planet would that place be on?"
Gad was confused now too. He was starting to realize that maybe he hadn't been figured out much of anything. Seemed he wasn't using any power he had to do so which meant he had some sort of active ability that would've allowed him to at any time. Perhaps it was time for Gad to take a risk as well. Reading minds wasn't something he could do outright but he had his own tricks. "Planet? Not...completely sure what that means. Do you mean like a realm? Uh, Arcem, I guess." He'd seem to close his eyes in though but in truth he was already scanning for the truth. He would attempt to view the spirit of the one he was speaking too directly. Simply, he was seeking out their motivations and intent. A divine spirit might throw off this attempt but at very least it would leave the individual more spiritually exhausted even if they didn't understand why.
Apollo would awkwardly laugh "It was... um, it was a joke. Say, what-" Not only would the attempt be thrown off, but it would in itself backfire as Apollo would try to discern the source of the spirtual exhaustion. He simply sighs and snaps his fingers. "Mare Cognitum." An indetectable wave of energy would wash over the perimeter and allow Apollo to know of the presence of anything which would cause spirtual exhaustion, much like a search engine. "Ah, sorry, I was just muttering something from a game. No need to worry about that."
"No need to worry, huh? Almost sounded like an incantation of sorts. They actually had that kind of thing where I'm from too. Though most call it low magic now." Gad didn't like not being able to read someone. It could only mean one thing to him. The one he was dealing with was in fact a god ot at very least had a strong enough will to counter his own abilities. Apollo would be able to detect a faint glimmer of light surrounding Gad at the moment, mostly centered in his eyes right now. However, such power would quickly fade away as Gad himself seemed to be repressing it.
Apollo raises an eyebrow at Gad. "Yes, of course. Still, no need to worry. Although, it only just now occurred to me that you may be hiding something. Whatever it is, i'll let it go for now." He would look to the side dismissively. "So, got any hobbies, Gad?"
"No, used to have a lot of hobbies but most of them end up getting to serious so I end up leaving them behind. I get too lucky and before I know it a hobby becomes a way to get famous. I really don't want to be well known or anything. I guess I still practice some of that low magic stuff but even that's kinda limited right now. I basically learned everything there was to know about most of it. Wait, there's still some things I make too..." Gad would pull a coin out of his pocket. It seemed to be made of gold and displayed the image of an angel on one said and a demon on the other. However, one thing of note was that the demon seemed to be more benevolent-looking while the angel had a sinister look to them. "Like this coin. Guess you could say it's a good luck charm...a diffrent kind of luck though."
"Huh, didn't realize magic was something you can learn." Apollo nods along, staring at the coin when its pulled out. "What, you borrow a few machines from a local mint or something? That's pretty cool.'
"Well, uh, no, I just sort of made it. It's a bit of a trade secret though. I just make most things myself to make things easier. I only have a few things in my possesion I didn't make myself. Some of those things would be my clothes. I just buy those normally. The magic I know isn't actually that strong either. There's a reason they call it low magic, because high magic was created to conquer the world. It's...too complicated for my taste though. Too many rules to it that go against a lot of what I already know." Gad seemed actually pretty intrested in what he was talking about. It was more like he was just reminiscing though than anything else.
Apollo would be interested as well. He would also talk more freely as there were less students around by now. "Huh... then I guess you can't call what I did magic. I never had to follow any rules, I simply did it."
"Maybe, but it could still be low magic. You rarely have to follow strict rules with that. Just by calling out some words you could make this entire classroom set on fire for example and the only limit would really be how many times you could do that in a day. I've heard of low magic that can allow someone to read minds too or see someone whose far away just by focusing. I've heard of people who even eat curses...which sounds pretty gross honestly." Gad would finally notice how long he's been talking and to what detail he was. If anything made him sound weird it was probably him talking about where he came from. "I...think I'm gonna go now...I hope nobody overheard this. I..." H'ed look over at any students left in class with his eyes glowing with a golden light. From his mouth a single command. "Forget you heard everything after class." There was a sudden pressure as the light from before seemed to forcefully wash over any who heard these words. It was much more potent than the trick he used before, as if divine power was a driving force behind it. Any mere mortal would simply be forced to obey the command perfectly, Gad's intently being perfectly known automatically. If Apollo heard Gad speak even he might feel a divine force pushing against his own thoughts, trying to prompt him to obey the command as well. Gad in the meantime would leave the classroom in a hurry, simply waving goodbye as he did.
(edited by Gadello_Visalli)
[It was after class, and most students were gone, and at this time, the school was open to more than just the usual students meanwhile the sun went down ever so slowly. At the library, which was outright empty, Kazuo was still thinking about the "Gods" situation, but he still had another thing to focus on. He had gotten the necessary papers for the "Occult Club". However, he still needed four more people. He knew Apollo was in on it, and that he could maybe convince Gad, but even then he didn't know if he could get two more people.] There's Sen, but she was already too busy... I wonder what could I do...? [He would cross his arms and think about this.]
A young woman would stand outside the doors of the library, a grimace upon her face while looking down at a flier mentioning this... "Occult Club"... She just stares for several long seconds before deciding to walk into the room with a slight scowl on her face, shoulder length platnium hair flowing a bit while absently looking at Kazuo. "Yo, you the one trying to set this nonsense up? Normally I've got the sanity to stay very far away from such absurdity but all of a sudden I... Kinda find myself wondering about it, name's Hikari Akimoto by the way, though ya may know that already." They do share a few classes now that she thinks about it, and if Kazuo paid any heed to such things as rumors in the slightest he'd no doubt have heard tales of the girl being... Perhaps a bit violent, she clearly has a bit of a delinquent style going on, being dressed in a slightly loose-fitting boy's uniform that only technically follows the dress code. But for the moment she just leans back and looks him over. "I gotta ask though, what do you know about actual weird shit? Cuz I can't say I'm of much help there, in fact sorta hoping to learn things myself... At least I do now, and uh don't ask why I've been gone for like ten days, no doubt rumors have flew in my absence but it ain't anything to worry yourself with." She awkwardly tries to smile at him, it comes off more like baring her teeth than anything else though. Friendly isn't exactly this girl's usual solution to dealing with people after all, and she's just left fidgeting in place a bit with hands in pockets and leaning back against a bookshelf while staring at her feet.
"...eh?" [The girl would appear at random to him. He was even startled by her sudden appearance. Even so, he would silently listen to Hikari. Indeed, he had heard something about her, although it was just rumors. He didn't care at all, however.] "...Lady, you are saying too much at once. What do you need?" [He would say plainly, with next to no facial expression.]
The girl just goes quiet for a long moment, shrugging and snapping her fingers while pointing at Kazuo. "Right, I ain't so good at interacting with people anyways whatever. I wanna know about weird shit, I'm joining you if you know anything actually supernatural, easier to understand?" She'd just crack her knuckles and go quiet again at that point, not really seeing any further need to elaborate upon things while staring the boy over curiously.
"You could say I know about the supernatural, which is why I'm making this club. To find more of it, if possible." [He would look at the paper he needed signed, and then at Akari. He would reach out for a single pencil he was using to draw as he thought previously, and would hand it to her.] "You just need to sign here and you'll be ready to go. So far I have other two people but... I still need one. Do you have any friends who may be interested in anything like this?"
Hikari just laughs for a moment, friends. Hah, that's a good one. "I can tell you right now... Kazuo I think? That is your name right? Anyway, I ain't got any friends period man let alone who'd wanna know about this crap. I didn't want to know about this stuff till a week ago. It's... Bad things tend to happen to those who look too close in my expereince, but I got my reasons for changing that choice now." The girl just sighs while picking up the pencil and absently filling out her own name, still needing one more member huh? Could always try and convince someone to join, but she isn't really much use for that. Unless... "Guess I could just apply brute force to some jackass if ya want though, I'm real good at that trick. But I've been trying to avoid that lately so, hopefully we can find something else."
"I'm Kazuo Takahara, and... yes, we should avoid using force, it would be just put us on in trouble and quite honestly, I don't want to deal with that." [He doesn't want to be breaking rules within this place after all, not because of the teachers but because of her. He would let out a sigh and cross both arms.] "Anyways, since we are going to be in the same club, you should tell me a bit more about yourself. You mentioned rumors, so I kind of want to hear it all from you." [Not that he knew anything to begin with.]
The young woman would sigh slightly while nodding, rules aren't exactly something she cares about a ton but ever since becoming... Stronger, she can't say the idea of throwing that weight at normal people appeals any. "Mmm, yeah it just ain't worth it to do that." She then groans while being asked that, explaining things about herself huh. That's tricky, real tricky. "Alright then, I guess I can tell ya some Kazuo. I may sometimes react to mockery by way of beating people's faces in, and I might have once beaten down a bunch of wannabe gangsters with a baseball bat a couple years ago. It's really not that big a deal, and yet people still won't shut the hell up and quit bothering me over it. I swear though, the stupid stories get more silly everytime, if ya ask half the people around here I'd shatter someone's bones just for em looking at me funny. I won't, obviously." She just shrugs a little bit while taking a seat and glancing towards the door every now and then, wondering if anyone else will be crazy or foolish enough to simply show up and join this madness. "How about you, ya only showed up here recently right?"
Apollo would've been absent the entire day of school, just now showing up to approach Kazuo in the library and overhear the last part of their conversation. "How ridiculous. How could anyone be satisfied believing in falsehoods and uncertainties? ...Has it always been like this or something?" He sighs, appearing more exhausted and less full of life than he once was. "Greetings, my name's Apollo and I may die in a few days. I'm assuming you're interested in Kazuo's little club as well?"
{A young lady would stand at the door of the library, reading the flier about some kind of "occult club". She eyes the paper so much that it almost forms a crevice, and with a sigh, she stops and looks at the door instead, trying to get a peak at who was inside. She couldn't actually see anyone though, so the girl decides to knock on the door before opening it.} "Greetings, it's nice to meet you all. I actually forgot we were supposed to have school, so after I told the faculty I came very early and prepared for tomorrow, they directed me here." {The girl puts her purse down on a nearby desk, now holding up the flier and looking at Kaz, only giving a glance off the the other girl talking to him. She actually looked up and down at Apollo as if to size him up, but after an indistinct gaze, she smiled and waved at him before continuing on, still practically leaving the other girl hanging.} "I've never actually heard of these occult studies back in France. Is it popular here in Japan? If so, I'd actually like to join to learn more about this subculture...if you don't mind at least."
"Well I-" [Kazuo was about to speak about himself until Apollo got involved, all extremely sudden too. He was also not being particularly... normal about things. Not that was expecting it.] "Gee, way to start a conversation. Next time just say you have cancer or something." [He tries to look annoyed, however, he cannot help but laugh. Then he would notice the newcomer. Another girl too. From France, apparently.] "That's a lot to take in but yes, if you're interested to join the Occult Club you only need to sign here... ah! You too Apollo, I need four signatures to make this thing happen." [He would point at the paper, which had so far just Hikari's signature] "This means we only need one actual signature..."
Hikari just stares at Apollo and raises an eyebrow slightly, that's... Quite the intro. "You may die in a few days, well shit man that's a heck of a way to make me remember you. Name's Hikari Akimoto, and that's for you too girl over there. Also I gotta ask, Apollo, that's not related to the sun god of Greek Mythology is it?" She'd then absently wave at Mal, not seeing much in the way of need to properly speak to the other girl for the moment. Apollo makes her a bit curious though, she can't deny that... So the girl goes on with a raised eyebrow and interested tone. "That whole 'may die' thing though, is that melodrama or are you actually talking about doing something possibly deadly?"
Apollo appears to be exasperated by Kazuo's remark, an empty glare being his only response for a few seconds before he pipes up. "Were it any other day, I'd agree with you. However, obscuring knowledge is pointless in critical situations." He then unconsciously smiles at Hikari, a light chuckle easing the tension. "Can't say that it is. I chose it based on the space program, in fact. Seeing as i'm actually a moon god, I felt it was fitting. As for my death, some dick named Eilan Musk says he wants to kill me. All of my kind, in fact."
(edited by Sunna)
{Mal retrieves the pen and signs her name in perfect cursive, almost tempted to write it in calligraphy but that'd just be showing off. She gives the pen back to Kazuo before waving back at Hikari. She spoke a bit more with Kazuo as the other two talked to each other.} "You think I'll get to meet more eccentric people at Kosei? I like it here, it's refreshing." {She perks up a bit when she hears Apollo calling himself a moon god. As well as the immediate mention of murder and killing of one's kind. That's called genocide, right? It piqued the girl's interest. Mal walked up to Apollo and started to be more inquisitive with her words, though her being foreign, it moreso came out as her being oblivious.} "Moon god? Wait, isn't mooning supposed to be a gesture?...Oh wait, you meant in terms of deities. If that's the case, would a deity being present increase or decrease efficiency in these occult studies?"
The girl's eyebrow rises up higher as she just stares over Apollo curiously. A... moon god, what a strange thing to declare yourself. "A moon god huh, that's a heck of a claim there. Can't say I put a lot of stock into things like gods myself, but eh. I'm just... Something, I'm good at stuff now is all I really know for sure. Can't say I like the idea of someone doing a bunch of killing though." She then chuckles a bit at Mal's words, that's a good question. I mean, one might think a god would be useful for looking into such things but who knows. Would that just make it too easy...? "Can't say I know much about studying this stuff myself, but I guess it'd be helpful. Probably, I dunno. Mostly just trying to figure out what's up with me now in part, and maybe figure out how ta work it better..."
Gadello would finally appear, walking into the library and looking around for a moment as if trying to figure out where he was exactly. "Oh, this is the library. Well, at least I'm not in some alleyway this time. There's more people than usual in here. Something going on?" He'd seem to avoid touching any books, possibly out of fear for another incident like the last time.
"There is quite a few weird people around here. The general rule is that those weird will eventually meet, it's only a matter of time. In a way, that's why all of us are here now. Spooky, isn't it?" [He would chuckle as Gad appears as well. Perfect timing as well.] "Hey, I'm starting a club, are you in? I just the signatures of four people and so far, Mal and Hikari here have done it. I'm just waiting on Apollo and our last member. So... I'm inviting you."
Apollo nervously chuckles at Hikari's statement. "Well, if you have any sort of ability I can definitely categorize it. I can find the answer to any question, as well, if you know what to ask. Anyways..." Apollo would sign his name as well in a more informal print, starkly contrasting with Mal's own signature. He then turns to notice Gad, whom he had forgotten minor details about as a result of his prior command of which he had not overly stressed. "Ah, Gad, what a coincidence that you'd be here. Quite lucky, in fact. You're the last signature we needed."
The girl would place a hand on her chin, categorize it huh... Alright then, sure she can work with that. Maybe. She'd smile slightly while glancing over at the boy and nodding a bit. "Hmm, just like that eh? Sure what the hell, I'm kinda curious. All I know so far is I'm really great at things I was already good at before now, and I glow gold when I use that a bunch. Doesn't really feel like anything separate from me though, just... Part of myself now. Ever since about a week ago." She then waves to Gad a little bit absently, so that's their last member then huh? Well nifty. "Yo, just call me Hikari. And yeah it is... Good timing I guess, that's cool. Pretty weird that two unrelated people just randomly came in though." Hikari glances at Mal with that remark, the French girl seems like an oddbal to her but eh. So's everyone somehow, no big deal even if her showing outta the blue as well is a bit off.
Gad would be somewhat confused by what was going on. With a sigh though he'd simply just take out a pen. "Well, I'm going to probably end up joining no matter what it is anyway. Guess I can stress about that latter. Now, uh, a signature, right..." He'd go to sign but his hand was unsteady and it was clear he wasn't exactly the best writer ever. The signature would come out fairly sloppy being almost impossible to read yet...there'd be an odd sense of clarity to it. It would be as if the very meaning behind his writing was instantly understood regardless of its quality. "Writing this language is nothing like home I guess...Sorry if it's a bit messy."
[Kazuo would smile and pat Gad on the back, trying to let him know things would be okay. With all the signatures, it was basically official that they would all be a group-kind of thing going forward.] "Alright, with all the signatures, from now on... we are part of the Occult Club. Then again, we could always give ourselves a different name. Call me cheesy if you want, but "Occult Club" is only the official one we'll submit for the school." [He was a fan of creating cool, memorable names indeed. But then, he remembers they still have a problem.] "Wait... we still need a member of the school's staff or a member of the faculty that will oversee us. And I think... we don't have one yet."
Apollo muses for a second steadily breathing as he stares at Hikari. "So... you excel at your hobbies? Either that in itself is your power or you simply acquired powers based on them. Either way, i'll need to see it to be sure." He then looks around the room, shrugging after Kazuo's sudden recognition of the requirement. "Very well, once you figure that out I do have something I'd to bring up later. There's actually a certain place i'd like to visit and wouldn't mind having you come along."
The girl wobbles her hand, exceling at hobbies is... Maybe not all there is to it, she'd sigh a bit before snapping her fingers and grinning, that's a good way of showing it without destroying too much of anything. "Not... That's underselling it a bit I'd say, watch and learn." Hikari stands up and walks over to a corner of the room, absently just standing still for a few seconds before... Vanishing entirely, for a brief moment it's as though the world's life flows around and through her, a golden glow appears for a few seconds... And vanishes just as quickly, the girl herself having vanished too. She waits a little while before speaking up again, still entirely unseen while doing so. "It's less about my hobbies, more about... Insofar as I can tell pretty damn broad categories of human skill. Mostly, I'm just running on pure instinct, because apparently vanishing from sight entirely when I'm not moving just comes natural now. Among several other things." She'd shrug while reappearing in his sight, still glowing a bit with burning red and yellow, along with a golden mark much akin to the sun gleaming upon her forehead. "And this happens, hell if I know what that symbol means though." Behold the mark, because it exists I don't have to describe it properly in text. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/whitewolf/images/8/8e/Dawn.png/revision/latest?cb=20180920165356
[Kazuo would nod as he takes the paper and saves it within a folder than would then go into his bag. He didn't expect to fill it so quickly, but at the same time, he had a feeling he would be able to do it.] "I'll need to figure that one out, yeah. For now, I'm going to head out though. Sen's... s-since it's getting so late and all, my mom is going to get worried." [He laughs, not really planning to go back home right away. He would pick his things up and then would stop, instead picking up a piece of paper and then writing his phone number on it.] "We need to stay in touch, so here's my number. I'll reach out to you all when everything is done, I promise! Think of a cooler name than Occult Club too, by the way!" [And so, he would quickly head out and make his way to the first floor, and then to the outside. He would slow down his pace and then allow himself to get lost among the people, going who knows where.]
Apollo playfully smirks, a lax look in his eyes. "That's just the brightness setting, the symbol gets added to most models so users can spot it easily." He would briefly chuckle before returning to a more serious demeanor. "Jokes aside, it's clearly a solar-aspected ability. I'm guessing it prevents light itself from being reflected off you in some way. Doesn't seem too particularly useful compared to other powers of that nature, though."
The girl shrugs a bit at that. She could go on but... No sense in trying to explain what she's actually good at with words. "Yeah, stealth isn't really my main area of expertise. I get the sense I'm just scratching the surface of this though. It demands use, and I'm not so sure I like that part..." She'd smile a little regardless of any aprehension though, cracking her knuckles slightly while waving goodbye to Kazuo and starting to walk closer to the door. "I'm sure I can do much better though given some time, no doubt there. The real question is, how much do I wanna try and push this crap. How much power can one random person handle before going mad with it...?" The depths of might that could one day be hers are frankly hard to explain, but if Apollo were to supernaturally dig into the aura of strength around the girl he'd rather easily tell that it is indeed far far deeper than the tiny bit she's shown him here. For the moment, Hikari merely leans back next to the doorframe and quietly ponders her own question. Staring off listlessly into a wall that clearly must be very interesting.
He scoffs at the girl's last remark. "You think power is what drives people to madness? Actually, it's quite the opposite. Regardless of the power one holds, one who gives into only self-satisfying tendencies has no choice but to fall into madness. I call that weakness." He shakes his head gently back and forth, caressing his forehead with his hand. "Now, i'm not in the habit of spitting out aeshops, but what you should focus more on is your reason to use your power rather than how far you can go with it."
The girl would just wave and say a few words while staring at the door, having opened it and gotten ready to head out for the moment with their... "leader" seemingly gone. Though she would bother to call him later if only so he has her number. As for Apollo, her reply to him before leaving is one laced with a bit of... Not anger, but conviction. "See, you say that. But look at it from the systemic point of view yeah? Even people who have legitimately good reasons behind what they do with power tend to fuck up, pretty often too. If we're talking about screwy mystic might or just mundane political power it's all the same, those at the top are statistically unlikely to keep others in mind." Hikari merely sighs heavily and shrugs, sparing a few last words before she leaves entirely with the golden gleam having died down. "It'd be kinda hubristic to just assume myself an exception, sure I'm gonna try but that's what everyone else who messes up says too." The Solar would leave with that remark said and done, wandering off from the school and out into the city with a simple goal of finding something worth trying to do for the moment. Either way, she's off without another word for now.

well im just gonna start anyway(the day after) A new student takes his seat and sits there silently waiting for class to start as soon as he takes his seat a pair of bullys walk up to him and then he proceeds to tell them something only they can hear then they all run away
A blue-haired homosexual european takes his seat next to the new student. "Hmm, yes, very education setting."
The new student just now notices and introduces himself to the other student "Hi my names Mochizuki Kame whats yours?"
The other student was very formal, like what one might expect from a student. They carried many art supplies and had many hammer and sickle themed drawings "You ask my name? Me Soviet Kitagawa. It is great, poetic name. Yes, I possess many lobster."
Mochizuki Speaks "no offence but can you try to talk normally?"
The communist shakes his head "I no understand what you mean. This foreign land, yes? I speak with Russian accent, language no matter. Glory to homeland."
Mochizuki Speaks again "oh well you do you while i do me and pay attention to class"
The soviet gives Mochizuki a look of disdain "Better plan, we do we! Communism, yes?"
Mochizuki Speaks again "sure buddy"
"Hmm..." He thinks. "...You advance character, yes? Very rushed manner, no care. Normalcy very boring. Shadow World bring many chance for development. You heard of Phantom Thief, yes? No longer will the privileged few keep power to themselves. I bring Persona to working class."
(2 hours later) Mochizuki is in the library reading a arsene lupin novel and then goes to the bathroom to dye his hair
Suddenly Mochizuki pulls out his phone and goes to the metaverse and meets up with the phantom thieves now known as Z3R0
Soviet Kitagawa, now as the Phantom Thief Member known as Fox, meets up with the Phantom Thieves as well. "Hmm, what targets do we have for today? We must take down the affluent very epicly."
can someone act as joker for this next part please
Mochizuki walks up to joker and talks to him in private "so joker i saw you looking at oracle with those eyes i can help you know?"
can someone act as joker for this next part please Typically if you need a specific character you'd play them yourself or contact the one who would play them ahead of time.
can someone act as joker for this next part please Typically if you need a specific character you'd play them yourself or contact the one who would play them ahead of time. ok thanks
Joker responds with this "really? ok how do you do it" Mochizuki reponds with "you just tell her how you feel when it seems most appropriate"
Joker would look over the others who had joined him today. He remained silent thinking that they had less people with them than usual but that didn't matter too much. They'd only need 3 members for today's goal and Kitagawa's newfound communism would come in use as well. He'd smirk before nodding at the two.
Mochizuki curios asks joker "Showtime i assume?"
Kitagawa chuckles "Hahaha very good, Ren Amamiya from Persona 5. You are as confidant looking as ever, comrade."

gtg bye
Maruki Takuto had entered the third-year classroom, subbing in for the previous teacher who was sick with Coronavirus. He writes his name on the board and then goes to the teacher's desk, pulling out an apple juice and casually sipping it. "Hello, class, i'm the sub for now."
