GTM Deluxe: Caped Combat
A young woman with brown hair down to her shoulders waving in the wind would step into the building, not even glancing around and still knowing its contents all too well. Well... She knows the currently unstaffed juice bar with several stools, a small room off to the side with a couch and a few seats. But then over in a corner of the room, past the large fighting ring with some kind of mystic runes inscribed it, presumably to keep damage from spilling out, there's a computer console? Hmm, that she has to examine personally rather than leaving to the bugs that currently float about absently through the building. Upon closer looking she'd realize it seems to be some kind of VR fighting set up, which is clearly new to this place since last she's come here. Unexpected, but might be useful. A good chance to use her more brutal tactics without risking lasting harm to anyone she doesn't want to give lifelong issues. "Huh, cool... Tinkertech maybe? Then again, it's simple enough I mostly understand how to use it so probably not. And I haven't exactly seen any Tinkers around here anyway..." She'd trail off into her own thoughts, eyes focused upon the console even as she looks around the entire building at once. Not to mention the backyard and near the entrance outside. There's a fly on every wall after all.
Sayaka had overheard that there was something happening in the old GYM that everyone knew so well, and as a defender of justice she just had to check it out. But for some kinda party the GYM seemed surprisingly... Empty. In fact, the school girl doesn't see anyone at first glance, but that just makes it more suspicious. For now, the girl crouches low to the ground, sneaking around the juice bar as if expecting a party to just jump out at her or something.
The girl would be met with Taylor calling out an absent greeting in... A fairly friendly voice. One which clashes greatly with the black suit of armor she's wearing, yellow lenses on it that Sayaka can't currently see gleaming slightly in the building's lights. And a pair of batons on her back which clearly say that she's here to fight, interesting despite greeting the blue haired girl she doesn't turn to face her at all. "Yo! Don't think we've met before, but the name's Skitter... Well, that's my superhero name anyway. You may or may not have heard of me beating the shit out of gangsters sometimes? And the odd wannabe supervillian but eh, moving on, you here to practice too?" She sounds friendly enough, for a weirdo who casually admits to being a vigilante anyway. And one that can apparently see you from anywhere.
Sayaka pauses behind the juice counter. She can't really go into a negotiation like this without something to provide her even ground. And she knows exactly what that is. In a flash of blue light the girl's school uniform has been exchanged for her caped Magical Girl outfit, the girl leaps out from behind the counter, sword at the ready. "Aha! So you're the one who broke in here last night! I've finally got you cornered. I'm the magical girl hero of justice, Sayaka Miki, ready to bring evil to justice." Though her tone is rough, Sayaka's face is absolutely beaming, so proud that she finally got to nail her introduction, even if there was only the random stranger she was trying to arrest here to witness it. That part can be worked on later. "If you're here for a fight, then a fight you shall get!"
Asami would wander into GYM, going up to the juice bar and placing her hands on the counter, seemingly lost in thought. "Eh? How does beating up gangsters make you a hero? You should at least do something more impressive before calling yourself a superhero." She is then taken aback by Sayaka's movements, seemingly astonished that she would pull such a thing. "Aren't you overdoing it a bit? How do you even know it was them?" She would be confused by the strangers antics before eventually giving it and returning to staring absently at the various juices.
The young woman would blink behind her mask, sounding... Rather weary at that, stupid fucking costume. "Wait wait could we talk about this more. I swear to god, despite how the costume looks I'm not a supervillain okay!" It's such a cheesy intro... Is this girl a newbie cape? Or one of the other kinds of weirdos who's around this town maybe, so many choices it could be. But at least she can't be any worse than Velvet, probably. "Did you... Practice that intro though? Sounds like the kinda thing a newbie Cape might bust out going against someone they think's a villain, though I'm not willing to say you're another Parahuman considering how... Odd this city is. Like I said though, let's just talk rather than you trying to arrest me, please? If you're looking for someone, I'm pretty at searching." She really sounds like she doesn't want to get into some pointless brawl for her freedom. Which is also what a crook would say too. But seriously, she keeps getting mixed up with a villain. As for the girl... She just sighs before responding to that one. "Hey! I've beaten other people with powers too sometimes, I can do more than just fight normals... And who are you to judge if I can call myself a superhero or not, I don't exactly see you out stopping crimes."

Ina
The young fox girl strolls in, itching for a fight, only finding a strange conversation happening. Then again, for her, this was nothing unusual. "I think i heard about the one in the suit, skitter i think... She can summon bugs, right? Kinda weird.... Eh, whatever! At least i get some good ol training in!" She laughs a bit, sitting down.
(edited by Ina)
"Hey, it sounds cool ok!" Sayaka snaps at the random child who wandered in here, before crosing her arms and turning back to the matter at hand. "And I'll have you know I'm not just some newbie. I've been in this town for a bit over two years, and I think you should treat me with the kinda respect a veteran like that deserves. I mean I've never even heard of you two before." Sayaka breathes out a heavy sigh and pouts. While helping people was nice and all, it would've been great to earn a little recognition.
The girl would raise an eyebrow under her mask, looking over at Sayaka with a curious expression... If only anyone could see it. "Oh, same here actually. Since... Yeah about two and a half years ago. I just kind of found myself here one day without any clue what was going on, the whole gang busting thing was half needing money half them just being horrible. And I still have no clue what's going on half the time, honestly..." She'd rub the back of her head, sounding a bit geniunely apologetic. "Well, sorry about thinking you were new then. I'm just... Not used to anyone that experience doing an intro like that, it was kinda cool though, almost like someone going for a more golden age kinda deal! Nice to meet ya Sayaka." As for the fox girl, she'd shake her head a bit at that. "I do go by Skitter, yeah. But my power isn't bug summoning exactly, just control. Oh and uh did you wanna practice Sayaka? I'm not very sword proof, just kinda resistant, but I usually hold my own!"
Ina
Ina was a bit surprised that she was wrong, but it was kinda interesting to her. "Ah, ok, i was at least close!" She giggles a bit, and rubs the back of her head. "I probably shouldn't fight you then, im almost certain my fire would incinerate you, hmmmm..." She points to the child "Hey you! You wanna train together?"
Asami gives Taylor an apologetic look, perking up at the situation. "Can't say i've ever stopped any bank robberies, but then again I am 9. I've saved more than a few lives, though!" She hops up on the counter, sitting on it cheerfully. "My name's Asami and... it's good to know there are more people like my brother looking out for the city, I guess." She then crosses her legs and she chuckles at Ina's suggestion, feeling somewhat embarrassed. "Are you sure? If you're using fire, it wouldn't do a thing against me."
(edited by Sunna)
"Well then if you insist." Sayaka's face slowly turns back into a grin as she prepares herself for another proclamation "Its nice to meet another hero such as myself, but as with all warriors the only way for our hearts to truly connect is the crossing of swords. As such, it would be my honor to humbly accept such a request. May our blades ring through the battlefield and shine like a beacon in the darkness." It was a weird mishmash of the kind of phrases Sayaka would hear in anime. Which seemed like a good enough standard for the girl anyways. With little time to brace, Sayaka crosses the room, swinging her one sword over her head and at Taylor. "Here I come!"
Ina
"Oh, do you use fire too?" Ina smiles a bit, its rare for her to find someone immune to fire so this would definitely be an interesting fight for her. "Then its a fair fight! The name's Ina by the way, pleasure to meet you!" She stands up happily, looking at Asami puzzlingly "You sure you're gonna be ok? You're just a child after all..."
The young woman would giggle a bit as a large black hammer just... Seeps out from her right wrist, almost leaping into her hands as she places the rather large weapon in front of Sayaka's blade with a grin. "Hah, yeah I can sorta get that! I'd guess you aren't a Parahuman like me, but I can't help from feeling drawn to conflict with others who've got powers..." Sayaka is probably stronger, there isn't any working around that. But the swarm of insects bursting out from under Taylor's armor might at least cause to be distracted a bit, even more since some of the flying ones seem to be carrying spiders, spiders that would aim to get their webbing into her eyes if given a chance. If the other girl focused upon blocking this small barrage of insects though, she'd quickly be met with Termite slamming towards her chest... That's if she reacts like the cape hopes though, and betting on that is never safe when it comes to other superhumans. "Pretty fast, by my world's standards you'd probably be... Brute and Mover I suppose, can't guess at ratings though. Matter creation too... Interesting, form of magic then?" She's musing aloud to herself as much as anything, not like she'd expect the other girl to explain her powers.
Asami gets up off the counter and faces Ina, crossing her arms while responding sarcastically. "What are you gonna do? Kill me?"
Ina
Ina cant help but give a small giggle at the sarcastic response. "Geez, I'm not that bad! Plus im not the type to kill people, i just love me a good fight!"
"How'd you know I could make stuff? I haven't even... Ok ew. Gross." Sayaka leaps away, preferring not to be touched by the insects today. it probably wouldn't hurt, but the mere thought of it brings a shiver down the young girl's spine. Not wanting to seem weak, Sayaka focuses herself and blocks the bugs by reaching out her left hand to form a magic circle, one ringed by musical notes. All it really does is force them to go around, but it also lets her do this. "A... Anyways, let me show ya. Acqua Pistola!" The phrase wasn't really needed, but giving your moves names was good for building confidence and cementing your own fighting style. In this case, Sayaka sends out a burst of water from the center of her circle, sending a focused blast like that of a fire hose directly at Taylor. Of course, any of the bugs hit by this burst are doubtlessly washed away by the sheer force of pressure being put out
The loli's tone took up a hint of irritation at the fox's giddy attitude, getting short with them. "Why not just watch UFC then? Going this far for the sole purpose of entertainment is just inane." She would then scoff, turning away with her arms still crossed. "If you're not going to take it seriously, then I don't see the point in fighting."
Ina
Ina would seem a little frustrated at the girls response, no ones really ever reacted to her like this. "I mean... You're literally in a place where people fight other people, and a lot of the time its for fun you know... Plus whats the point of taking things seriously when you cant die? Its almost like a game to me!"
"Yeah, but you didn't come in wearing that outfit... I like to keep tabs on where things in my vicinity. Never know what kind of nasty shocks you might get if your guard is down." Her spiders that had been dropped are sadly left unable to dodge, but the flying ones... They move with an unnatural speed and focus, clearly pushing themselves with no regard for possible damage to their body longterm. Absolute control is like that, and it's enough to dodge for now. As for the girl herself though, she'd be forced to slam Termite into the ground for a bit to keep from being moved too far. Any pain she might feel doesn't really seem to bother the young Cape. "Water though... May have to treat this a bit like fighting Lung, he was uh. A dude who could turn into a dragon, had a pretty strong healing factor, lotta fire. Couldn't withstand thousands of bugs biting and stinging all at once though, got knocked out." Somehow all the talking Skitter is doing doesn't even slow her down a bit at all, she can't push against the water pressure, but she can have a swarm of flying bugs watch Sayaka from all postions above while getting pushed back. Most people would be stunned a bit by flying backwards that way, she merely sends a burst of acid blasting out from the black hammer with a curious look on her face, not strong enough to be lethal yet, but if the glob of putrid liquid that flies overhead to try and get past the water hit it might hurt some. Hopefully.
Asami would now be altogether disinterested from the idea of fighting this person. In her mind, it wouldn't be suitable training. Letting her hands fall, she rolls her eyes. "How you treat practice makes a difference in how well you perform in actual fights. If you don't put your all into furthering your technique or rely on flashy moves and callouts, you're liable to only hinder yourself when it counts."
"Heh, right where I wanted you!" The water had its intended effect, forcing the insects to go over Sayaka's magic circle. As soon as her burst has cleared the way, Sayaka drops her shield to close the gap between her and Taylor once more. After all, she'd have to get close to make use of her greater strength. Just like the first round, Sayaka starts with a simple overhead slash.
Ina
Ina sighs, even more frustrated. Either shes trying to piss her off, or just not interested in fighting at all. ina gets ready to do something, but something stops her and it might be possible to hear her murmuring to herself. She takes a breath and stares at the girl, being fully serious. "Look, being immortal can be boring at times. Fighting is like... Sort of the only fun i can get, it gets me really pumped up like I'm in a do-or-die situation, but since I'm immortal i usually forget the do-or-die part. Especially fighting someone who can actually resist my flames, it gets me super excited because i dont feel just like i can never lose." She sighs a bit., Staring at Sayaka and Skitter as they fight. "Take those two for example. They both seem like amazing fighters, hut I'd only really fight the blue haired one. Looks like she can use water, and water isn't exactly my thing. That way I'd actually have to work to win. The superhero doesnt look like a slouch, either, but i feel like it would be a bit too easy for me."
Right, Brute powers... Fuck it, time to get completely serious instead of only mostly. "Two souls beating as one. Unison." Nothing more than that needs to be said as the hammer quickly melts down into a black liquid that would reform as a pair of large clawed gauntlets over Taylor's hands, like heavily armored insect themed weapons. If the acid wasn't enough though, she'd likely end up sent flying back. Merely banged around by impact to the newly formed weapons rather than cut to shreds. Which seem to be leaking a much stronger acid that would be used in an attempt to not only parry the other girl with suddenly far greater strength, but melt through her sword and indeed even flesh if the weapon came in contact with Sayaka's body. She's faster now too, though not by nearly as much as her strength was enchanced. And in that regard Sayaka still has the edge... Though she'd notice it now seems to be raining acid as well, acid which Taylor can casually evade no matter what that pours from the mouths of her now sickly green looking flying bugs. "I guess I couldn't expect to win holding back on you, huh? That would just be silly... This should even things out a bit though."
"No, this is about over." Unfortunately for Taylor, although Sayaka's blades do begin to melt with the acid, they aren't dissolved instantly. Perhaps worse, however, would be the simple fact that Sayaka's force is directed downwards, not backwards. As such, rather than getting knocked back, Taylor's now armed arms, are forced downwards in the very same instant that Sayaka's feet leave the ground. This allows the slightly smaller and more agile girl to flip over Taylor, before wrapping her right leg around Taylor's neck, and likely bringing the other girl to the ground with their combined weight. "If we were fighting for real I could probably snap your neck from here. So I think this is about over."
The girl would smirk slightly at that... Well then, that's a bit rough. But she can roll with it. Before that grab can entirely set in Sayaka would find the entire girl covered in a barrier of acid, easily melting through much of the floor as Skitter hopes it can push the other young woman back in a burst of power that would hopefully leave her stunned for a bit. With any luck anyways. If this last trick of Termite's doesn't pan out though, she'll really have no choice but to admit defeat. "Yeah it... Might well be, jeez. That's kinda my last trick I can try right now so it'll have to work out if I'm gonna keep going... Otherwise you've won, honestly." That's all she can say right now, despite the stupid voice in the back of her head urging her to for more extreme and untested attempts.
Sayaka's grin turns into a wince as the girl is forced to suddenly turn off her sense of pain for these next few seconds. The acid barrier would hurt a lot, but its not overwhelmingly solid or anything, since she can bear the burning Sayaka's still able to finish her lock, holding it for a second purely to prove she can before dropping away. No reason to get herself actually hurt over some stupid practice. "Ah, man. That one just seems spiteful. Seriously. Still, ya've gotta be careful letting a stronger opponent approach you like that." unfortunately even doing that much would leave Sayaka's legs with nasty acid burns, something that the kids here probably shouldn't be seeing. Since Sayaka considers the fight over, she bends down and takes a deep breathe in order to focus her healing abilities on her legs. Acid inflicts damage on a cellular level, making it take much longer to heal than something like a cut, which does little more than severing connections. "I mean, not that I can really judge. Sometimes I'm a little too direct for my own good."
Asami would turn to the two as they were finishing up their spar, cheerfully approaching them. "You guys alright? I can heal you if you'd like." She tilts her head curiously, waiting for an answer.
She'd sigh a bit, damn. Still would have gotten killed there in a real fight... Ugh... "Heh, sorry... I could try and make it more solid, that sorta works. Sometimes." The part she isn't admitting there is that would have needed more time to focus, Termite's acid can be changed. But it isn't an instant process or anything... And as for the other point, Taylor would shrug slightly. "And that's a fair point, but I usually am much more careful about letting people be close, in fact. My power is bug control, typical field use is to just hospitalize who I can from long range and be done with it. You admittedly would require more specialized methods." There's a pause at that point, her voice becoming slightly amused. "Heh, only other person I've fought with a self healing power anywhere around yours was a dude who turns into a dragon. Doubt there's any connection there though, in fact I'd guess you probably aren't from Earth-Bet, right?"
"Uhhh... I guess. It'd probably go faster with two people." Sayaka raises an eyebrow at Sunna, but she wasn't going to stop the kid from trying. Healing was a better thing for them to focus on after all. While finishing up her legs, Sayaka looks up at Taylor. "I'm from Earth, if that helps. Mitakihara, more specifically. And healing's actually my main thing. All that other stuff are more like cool side effects I can use for fighting."
Asami would aid in Sayaka's recovery, casually focusing her healing power on them. "Ah, i'm also from Earth. Not sure about my parents, though. They could've been from any realm." She then thinks to herself for a second, attempting to recollect. "Come to think of it, I don't really know where on Earth I was born."
The young woman would wobble her hand a bit, the fact they don't know what a Parahuman is... Or even call it by one of Aleph or Bet, says they aren't from her brand of dimensions. "Ehhh... Only helps so much. There's more than just the one Earth, which is common knowledge where I'm from but doesn't exactly seem known around here as much. I blame the lack of Tinkers mostly, it's their fault other dimensions ever ended up proven where I'm from. Which uh, are bascially people who's superpower is making tech even they don't quite understand." She'd shrug slightly, going down the entire list of PRT power types is... A thing she could do, but that sounds silly unless anyone asks for it. "I'm gonna guess people with superpowers wasn't exactly a public thing where you're from though, huh Sayaka? And neat that you two are both healers, most powers back home were... Not good for healing. At all."
"Ah!" Asami would become enthralled with with the woman's explanation, practically jumping with excitement. The fidgety girl would sway left and right, her starry eyes beaming up the elder superhero. "Ms. Skitter, Do you think I could come to your Earth? It sounds really fun!"
"Yeah, not really. There weren't any real open villains at home, we just fought these monsters that just lured around causing trouble." With two people working on it, it wouldn't take long for Sayaka's legs to be back to normal, giving the girl the chance to stand proud once more. "Multiverse theory or whatever right? Ya, that's kinda old news around here. Most of us are from totally different and weird worlds. Ya kinda just stop caring at some point. Ya know?" Sayaka yawns, stretching her arms and back as she slowly breathes in and out.
The girl laughs in an intensely bitter voice as she looks at Asami, that's... No. Just no. "In all honestly kid? Earth-Bet was a hellhole and I'm glad to be gone, literal giant monsters wiping out half of a city was an event that happened every few months. Behemoth, an unkillable brute that killed more Parahumans than anything else in the world. Leaving behind vast zones of radiation behind in its wake. Leviathan, impossibly fast for a 30 foot tall beast, and a fucking macro-hydrokinesis user, it sank wo entire islands on its own, higher direct death count than any other Endbringer... Then the last." She'd actually pause for a moment at that point, shuddering visably, and even despite the costume covering up her face it's plain to see Skitter is by far the most concerned by this one. "The Simurgh, world's most powerful precog, world's only telepathy user known, world's most powerful mind controller, capable of casually flinging around buildings with her brain. Weakest of them physically, still able to shrug off multiple nukes. And capable of casually creating dimino effects to make life worse with that unstopped precognition... Yeah no, Earth-Bet can stay out of my life. Hopefully forever." There's a twinge of guilt in the girl's words, she's not expanding on the reason there while absently taking a seat at the juice bar and just sighing heavily. Even thinking about those nightmares again was at least as exhausting as the fight. After taking a moment from finishing that little rant, she'd absently nod to Sayaka. Right right, makes sense. She never did ask about that much around here. "Gotcha... Well you have a vague idea of the kinda world I'm from now, even ignoring the literal walking ends of the world. It wasn't exactly great, but eh. I won't get into those details."
"Sounda pretty rough." Sayaka casually remarks. Like she had just mentioned, it was kinda hard to care too much about other worlds, she simply doesn't have any anchor to lead her to it. It is better to focus on things she does know and care about. And unfortunately, that included her personal business. "I've still got school tomorrow, so I'll be heading out. Try not to get into any more trouble ok?" With that final remark, Sayaka heads out, letting her Magical Girl outfit fade away into her school uniform, picking up her bag before finally running out the door, back towards home.
"Oh..." Asami was disappointed upon hearing Skitter explain further, starting to walk away. She would wave to Sayaka as they left. "Ok! It was nice meeting you!" Once the magical girl was fully out of sight, Asami would go back to the juice counter, looking for apple juice.
Taylor would just wave to the magical girl with a slight nod. It's not like she has any reason to care, hell. Taylor herself only barely cares and that's solely because of her father, it'd be nice to see him again. But frankly she's better off here anyways, probably. "See ya around Sayaka, I forget some of us still go to school honestly. Too much of a pain for me to bother with when I'm doing fine on my own. Good luck though, I'm sure you can handle it. Probably." With that she'd just shrug a bit before absently taking the mask off, revealing a fairly young face and pair of green-ish eyes as she just walks behind the counter before pulling out a bottle of orange juice. "And eh, call me Taylor kid. Not like anyone cares much about the whole secret identy thing around here, I mostly just wear the mask out of habit now. Or maybe tradition? Something like that, oh and you want anything?" She'd place a bit of money in the register, no sense in stealing when she can pay. Sure it's unmanned, but whatever. They can keep the change.
Asami would smile as she repeats back the name in confirmation. "Taylor? Uh, i'd like an apple juice, please." She would then sit on a stool, waiting patiently. "So, you've been in this realm for awhile huh? You must be pretty experienced with the attraction to the supernatural Tokyo has, then."
She shrugs slightly at that, it's... A thing she supposes. "Yeah yeah, Taylor. Skitter is more just a nickname at this point than any actual shield, I don't have family or real friends here anyway so. Nobody to target if anyone cared to." After handing over the juice and quietly paying for it she'd leap over the counter with casual ease and take a seat. "As for the supernatural... I have, and I still don't like it. I was pretty sure that stuff was just in stories till I ended up here, Parahumans like me have some vague logic to us. In a sci-fi sorta way. But the people here just shatter even that so... Sure, magic. I have no better name for most of it. How bout you?"
Asami would sigh, feeling a sort of understanding for Taylor's situation. She takes a sip of the juice as she listens on, responding honestly. "My life is pretty deeply involved with that sort of stuff. My mother was a pretty prominent shinto figure and that does attract a very... specific kind of attention. It's kind of bothersome, to be honest. I'd prefer it if I could just live life as any regular human." She would seem downtrodden, staring off to the side.
