Akira would pay as much attention as she could, mentally repeating each step she would have to do in the coming moments while following Hikari down towards the first floor and past the main doors, directly towards the dried up fountain and the decaying concrete around it. Memories of what she did months ago in desperation would surface. She knew exactly what needed to be done. She was on the verge of tears and shaking, but pressed forward all the same, telling herself that tears won't bring her sister back.
Akira: "I want Miki-chan back...!"
Gad was distracting the cops. Whatever it was he was doing, it was working, because the cops would cross their arms and focus on every single think Gad was telling them. And they were believing it.
Officer 2: "I dunno about this chief, this sounds dangerous, we should go and look for her."
The other cop would only take one extra second to reply, seemingly wondering about what he was just told, like he KNEW it wasn't right. He glares at Gad and clears his throat, ready to call him out on it.
Officer 1: "Thank you for your help, boy. Get home quickly."
Or not. The cops decide that it would be better to focus on the student that may be dangerous and just ran away rather than take in any interviews or further questioning. After all, what would happen if this Hitsuke Akimata breaks into another house? They couldn't have it. Because of them leaving for the time being, Hikari, Apollo and Akira have an easy time getting to the circle. The little girl would open her box of art supplies and reach for her chalk, then checking the design she replicated in her sketchbook. Her hand would swiftly draw on top of the small, basic bits Kazuo was able to restore, completing the complex array of unique symbols.
Akira: "N-Now...t-the doll!!"
Akira would stumble at first to grab on to the doll, quickly getting rid of dress and wig she made of it, leaving them on the grass. She would place the artifact right on the middle of it all. Time appears to stop at the moment when the summoning circle lights up, its complex design changing into a luminescent deep blue that pierces the dark around them, even the light illuminating the area. The group feels a strange pressure in their chest, like a second set of palpitations overtaking and then going away; a chill running down their spine. It was the presence of a powerful demon, or even thousands upon millions of them.
Akira: "I called you here, to eat the nightmares of Miki-chan! You did that and...and you got scary, too scary, I don't want you here anymore! Go back home, Baku! Give her back!"
The entire apartment is covered in a blue mist, which would then turn into heavier clouds of smoke and liquid pouring down all over the area. Puddles would form and join, the substance reacting violently as the powerful circle calls it all back into itself. It gains form, it attempts to retain some kind of appearance, but all it can manage is cry out.
Baku: "NO! I WAS ALMOST DONE! I WAS ABOUT TO ESCAPE YOUR PATHETIC CONTRACT!!"
The puddle was the demon being pulled back into the Demon World. Akira only watches in silence.
Baku: "I'LL TAKE IT ALL! JUST LIKE HE SAID!! THE DAY A PENUMBRA IS BORN AND MALKUTH IS DEVOURED BY CHAOS, SO WILL I RAVAGE YOU!!!"
Despite the ferocity of its last words, every last trace of Baku disappears pathetically into the recently made drawings, which are then erased from existence, leaving behind only the Sleeping Doll, standing where it was placed. Akira falls onto the grass, rather shocked by what just happened, too much for her young mind. The demon was now gone, and its power faded.
The trio that were acting as bait at Apartment 306 were free to go. They may have a hard time moving around and regaining emotional composure, but their bodies would feel healthy and well rested, more so than before. Even if they did not truly die and were at the brink, they knew it was too close.
