Does anyone else think Futaba has autism?
I get that she's a shut in, but she also displays a certain social awkwardness that makes me think she has autism/Aspergers. What do you guys think?
No, stop projecting.
I'm triggered
I can now say I want to fuck an autist.
As some on the spectrum, she's not likely on it and it's more the fact that years of painful memories have led to an overall anti-social outlook, as well as being raised by Wakaba, who also had similar qualities. Children take after their parents, after all.

Her shutting herself in and her overall internet personality resulted in her interests being nerdy over all.

Quirkiness and over-all Anti-Social Behavior does not make someone automatically on the Spectrum...

*mic drop*
Not at all, I just think she's your typical ironic 4chan shitposter who masks her crippling depression and social anxiety with memes and otaku shit.
Yusuke does.
Like, that guys is straight up autistic. I love the guy, but he's a fucking wierdo, dude.
Obviously he is autistic. Have you seen how he runs?
I bet he's a big Vaporwave fan because muh A E S T H E T I C S
How dare you!
Stop making up such things about me! And Vaporwave is vomit for the eyes!
Well we should start with what aspects of her personality could be attributed to it.

1: Shyness, especially around strangers. She's also bad at eye contact, evidenced by that giant mask she wore.

2: Meltdowns. The ones we see during her palace are due to hallucinations, but when we find her at the electronics store, the crowd and noise overwhelmed Futaba.

3: Tact, or rather a lack of. She answers her own adoptive father with one-word sentences. While not rude, Futaba is impersonal and lacks courtesy.

4: Hyperfocus. When something captures Futaba's attention, it holds her hostage. She spent a whole day hacking, oblivious to the actions of Akira, who was in the same room.

tl;dr it's entirely possible Futaba is somewhere on the autism spectrum.
It's literally just ADD, nothing more, nothing less.
Dude, just because autistic people are associated with those traits it doesn't mean everyone who has those traits is autistic. Also, those traits are something she developed rather than being born with, due to being locked up in a room for a while with little to no physical interactions with people.
tl;dr stop projecting you autists.
@Mako-chan a lot of people on the autism spectrum also have ADD.
@-Fox-, I swear I meant no offense by that little joke, I actually think you're a really cool guy!
actually as an actual autistic person I could see that, so it makes characters a lot more relateable in my opinion, I mean IRL I'm pretty much exactly like Futaba albeit a bit older.
