Okay so in order.

Makoto's beta design ooks awesome. Actually, she looks like that one Persona.

Hifumi looks like... geeze, her outfit looks like Captain Kidd.

Mishima... would have been a phantom thief?

And Ryuji looks like Ryoji.

isn't that mishima? and, apart from the hat, he actually looks alright..

Actually supposedly she was taken out because the game was too long.

There was clearly enough there to make her into a full confidant.

Also I still attest that Hifumi was taken out late in development. As that month and a half in jail seems like it was added in solely for padding. And the whole True Ending doesn't feature any indications that it's Christmas Eve.

I wish Mishima was a Phantom Thief, that would've been amazing!

When I played the game for the first time, I, uh.. got him and yusuke confused.

A lot of people missed the memo that Yusuke wasn't from Shujin it seems.

@Migrant I was so confused, I thought he went to Shujin until he said he went to another school.

Yeah, back in pre-release stuff they mentioned off and on that Yusuke was a student of Kosei High. Guess it depends on when you plugged into the game.

Is that a goddamn umbrella? Was Mishima going to be the penguin?

@Migrant The only thing I watched was the first 15 minutes of gameplay and the opening, I wanted to go into the game blind :P

TBF at one point Atlus may have wanted to go for a more literal "toy weapon" motif than they ended up using.

Also one thing I notice is Ryuji doesn't have concept art for his thief form.

Could he at one point have not been a thief while Mishima was?
