It's supposed to hide if your username is too long.

Rotate to landscape and go back to portrait and tell me if it's the same.

It seems that the username is sometimes profile and sometimes extended, but it is based on how I scroll,
It would be kind of hard to show that in a photo, so I can't send an example.

Actually it just started happening to me.

Sometimes it says the "hi, (name)!", but most of the time it says profile. or it says one and then changes to the other.
I think it says "hi, (name)!" when on the topic list, and "profile" when actually in the topic. At least for me
