A Many-World Chronolock

The Nexus was a strange place, that was to be certain. Suzuha had little idea how it worked, and it seemed getting out was an even greater mystery. With her time machine, it should have been easy, but either something was holding her there, or something was broken. Perhaps the presence of so many different converging timestreams kept them locked in one spot, like a whirl pool, with the currents of spacetime constantly pressing down on them?

All theories aside, it soon came to light that Suzuha knew... nobody. Which wasn't exactly new news, but not good, either.

"I wonder what kind of people are here." Maybe walking around this alternate Tokyo a bit would be a good start...

Well, that's usually how alternate realities and timelines or whatever usually work. Differentiating major events in people's lives lead to a worldline shift, which leads to that person being different in the two separate worldlines...
Apparently my uncle met a different worldline me once. I wonder what that me was like.

Yeah, I have... a lot of experience with time travel and such. But even with everything I know, I can't figure out what's keeping everyone here at the Nexus. I've been calling it a "chronolock" to myself, but...
*Suzuha sighs, and then groans.*
I wish Kurisu were here. Or Uncle Okabe. The two of them together could probably figure it out...

Yeah its quite the conundrum. I work with an organization trying to figure it all out, but it's tricky. So I just live as normally as possible here for now. Thought I can't help but want to go home.

*nods but then shrugs*

Well, heck, it's not like I really had much of a home to go back to in the first place... my worldlines future wasn't exactly the most inviting version ever. Really, I just want to help everyone else find a way home...

*Suzuha was sort of slouched over, looking very small.*

And until then, I don't really know what "normal" living is. Last time I was somewhere long-term, I just lived out of my time machine. So I guess this'll be a learning experience in more than a few ways.

*She chuckled a little, like she was attempting to cheer herself up.*

And new experiences are usually fun, right?
