Today I checked the Phansite for the first time in quite a while. I often find myself reminiscing over the old days, with the site was initially conceived and there wasn't even a forum. I made this account surprisingly aroused it didn't require an email verification.
The site has changed. The people I met when it was new seem to have left. The site is dominated by RP now, which in itself isn't bad, but I think a lot of you only knew the site for the RP when you joined.
I was there when "hearts were stolen" - when we believed in the back of our minds the Phantom Thieves maybe were real. Or they seemed it, at least. I was there when all of the RP happened in LeBlanc, when people were still worried about game spoilers, when we discussed the characters of the game and posted Calvin and Hobbes fanfiction all over the front page.
I think the site was better then, to be honest. It had variety at least. RP isn't my thing, it never will be. I'm not saying it should go. I'm saying we should bring variety back.
I understand the fact I'm under the sights of 49 sniper rifles for saying this, but we had an official warning issued (I think even by Mishima himself) about how far it had spread, but I think a lot of people such as myself gave up.
This placed used to be my replacement for reddit, but now I come back here to giggle at people role-playing a pillow fight and wonder where the good shit went.
We need some balance is the bottom line, and given the influx of new people, I think we could show them an even better time on here than the old days. Keep the RP if you want, but lets bring back the heart account deleting heart changes. Let's bring back the threads about Ryuji sexing automobiles. Let's make this place fun for more than roleplaying.
