World of Karudo: A Questionable Start
*A large stone gate with a blinding light instead of a door has appeared in the middle of the road. Rather rude, since it's blocking traffic. What is it, anyway?*
(...bumping now that the drama has passed and I have a lil time)
(...aaand now I ACTUALLY have time after food)
OOC: noice
(Final bump?)
*Hibki looks out for traffic and walks into the gate shielding his eyes as he does so*
*Inside is... a lush field. A few mountains, a forest, and even an ocean can be seen in the distance. It's like it's an entirely different world in here...*

*At Hibki's feet are multiple gloves with a gem on the back of the hand. There's a paper sitting next to them.*
Beautiful, I think I'll stay a bit. *He picks up the paper and reads it*
*The paper reads as follows:*

"Allow me to introduce you to the Duel Summon Glove! The DSG is meant to allow magic and creatures to take form in Karudo. Just choose one and put it on, and the DSG tutorial function will activate!"
Hmm, so I just put this on? *He puts it on carefully, just in case it's a trap*
*As the glove is put on, the gem glows. It shifts between green, red, blue, white, and purple*

"TUTORIAL ACTIVE. PRESS GEM WHEN YOUR DESIRED ELEMENT IS SHOWING."
*He taps the gem on white*
*The gem glows, and a blue and white worm-like creature appears. Its form glows and shrinks down into a card*

"SUMMON OBTAINED: GALAXY WORM. ATTACK 1200, DEFENSE 1000. SYSTEM ON STANDBY UNTIL NEXT ENCOUNTER."
Oh boy, I'm going to struggle aren't I? *He lays down in the field and looks at the sky*
*The sky is nearly cloudless, and two dragons glide downwards from above... wait, what?*
Wait, are those real dragons?
"AFFIRMATIVE. DECOY DRAGON AND DRAGUNITY AKYLS DETECTED. PREPARING COMBAT TUTORIAL..."

*The gem glows as the two dragons land.*
*He jumps up* So, how do I do this? I'm guessing my normal skills won't work.
"COMBAT BASICS"

*Some text appears on a hologram*

"To start, summon a monster! You can either normal summon or set one monster per turn. To make things easy, let's normal summon Galaxy Worm. Hold its card out face-up!"
*Hibki holds the card out face up* like this?
*The card glows, and Galaxy Worm appears in front of Hibki! (1200/1000)*

*Hibki feels a little drained... the screen's display changes from 2000 LP to 1700 LP*

"Normal summoning or setting monsters drains your life force, according to their level. This level 3 monster drained your LP by 300. But the reward is a fighting ally! Now, command them to attack a monster!"

On field: Decoy Dragon (300/200), Dragunity Aklys (1000/800)
(Hib's gonna slep so I guess this is on hold unless someone else pops up)
Attack the Dragunity Aklys, it look like it would hurt more.
OOC: Yep, night.
(...or that)

*The Dragunity roars as Galaxy Worm bites into it. It shatters into light shards*

"If your monster has more attack power, it kills the other monster, and vice versa! If it's a tie, both are destroyed."

ENEMY PHASE

*Decoy Dragon hisses and lunges at Hibki*

"During fights, both you and the enemy can either attack a monster or attack a Duel Master directly. If the latter happens, you can tell your monster to block it!"
(on hold for reals now I guess)
(awake, ate lunch, and ready to do stuff!)
*a nekroz knights walks at this place*
Umm, block the attack!
(Was busy with WIXOSS)

*Galaxy Worm blocks, although its defense drops... (1200/500)*

"When defending this way, your monster loses 500 defense. Once it hits zero, your opponent can attack directly, so be careful!"

PLAYER PHASE

On field: Decoy Dragon (300/200)

*The Nekrox notices some strange gloves on the ground, as well as some figures battling in the distance...*
(bump cause holy mother of thread floods)
Alright then, attack the only one left!
*Galaxy Worm takes Decoy Dragon down!*

"TUTORIAL ON STANDBY. CARDS OBTAINED: DECOY DRAGON AND DRAGUNITY ALKYS."

*Two cards fall to the ground, then disappear with Galaxy Worm's card into the gem*
Nice, I should stay on my toes though. *He walks towards the ocean keeping an eye out for any more creatures*
*Hibki sees a few fish-like creatures leap across the surface. This seems to be a good area to find Water monsters.*
*He approaches the creatures and readies himself for battle*
*A fish-like humanoid walks out of the water. On its arm is... a blue version of Hibki's glove?*
Oh umm, hello. I'm new here, can you tell me more about how this world works?
"Wait, you... aren't from here? So that rumor is true about the worlds being connected..." *They shrug* "Well, in here, cards- which Duel Monsters inhabit- are alive. I see you're a Duel Master with that glove. Some of us are as well." *he holds up his gloved hand* "I personally do it for fun, but some use it for force."
Well, do you want to duel to help me understand more of the basics? I only have three monsters though.
"Sure! I can give you some water monsters if you want. I have a few too many as is."
I don't want to take too many, I'll take a few though.
*Obtained Royal Swamp Eel x1!*

*Obtained Spear Shark x2!*

*Obtained Needle Sunfish x1!*

*Obtained Synchro: White Aura Dolphin x1*

*The gem glows* "SYNCHRO MONSTER DETECTED. TUTORIAL ACTIVE."
Alright then, I guess I'm reading now. Should we battle so I can see this in action and understand it better?
"Better to learn through battling let's go!" *The fish-person waves their hand, and six cards appear in their hand*

PLAYER TURN

*The monsters in Hibki's hand are Decoy Dragon (300/200), Dragunity Aklys (1000/800), and Spear Shark (1600/1400). There's also two green cards: Double Summon and Dragon Shrine. Finally, there is a purple card called Lumenize.*

The hologram pops up: The green cards are Spell Cards. You can activate as many as you want in a turn! Each has various effects. For example, Double Summon lets you Normal Summon twice in a turn. Try using it, then summon Dragunity and Spear Shark!
Okay then, I use double summon and summon Dragunity and Spear Shark!
*Both monsters are summoned, but this takes a large chunk of energy due to being two monsters at once. LP: 1400*

The screen flashes again: And now for a Synchro tutorial! To synchro summon a special "synchro monster," such as that dolphin, you need a tuner monster and a non-tuner: in this case, Dragunity and Shark, respectively. I'll keep you updated on when you can synchro! Just remember that the total level of the component monsters must equal that of the synchro.

Time to summon White Aura Dolphin!
Now I use Dragunity and Spear Shark to synchro summon White Aura Dolphin.
*The two monsters glow, fusing into a pure white dolphin that swims through the air around Hibki* (2400/1000)

ENEMY PHASE

"Alright... I'll summon Saber Shark (1600/1200) and set a card in the back row, then end my turn!"

PLAYER PHASE

The screen reads: Spell and Trap cards can be set for later use. As for traps, they must be set before they can be used and cannot activate the turn they are set. However, they have the ability to even activate on your opponent's turn!

*Hibki's drawn card is Royal Swamp Eel (1700/1200)
I place a card in the back row and attack your Saber Shark. *He puts his trap card in the back row*
*The trap card won't be useful... at the moment.*

"Trap Card activate! Negate attack!" *However, the fish-person's trap certainly helped him. A strange aura protects Saber Shark before fading.*
Attacking ends my turn right?
"Unless you can still summon something or want to use a spell or trap, yes."
Okay then, I summon royal swamp eel and end my turn.
*Royal Swamp Eel swims up to White Aura Dolphin, glaring at Saber Shark.*

ENEMY TURN

"Alright... I tribute Saber Shark to summon Mobius the Frost Monarch!" *Saber Shark fades, replaced with a humanoid, armor-clad being (2400/1000)* "...And its effect destroys your trap!"

The hologram reads: To summon a level 5 or 6 monster, a monster on your field must be sacrificed/tributed. Level 7 or higher monsters require 2 tributes. No LP is lost from monsters summoned this way.

*Mobius strikes the Eel with an icy fist. A few shards fly out and hit Hibki. LP: 700*

PLAYER TURN

The screen: You're in a pinch... thankfully, your monsters have effects, too! For example, White Aura Dolphin can halve the attack of a monster until the end of your turn.
*Drawn card: Galaxy Worm (1200/1000)*
Alright then, i use White Aura dolphin's special abilitiy on Mobius. Then I have Royal Swamp Eel attack Mobius.
*Swamp Eel is destroyed already, so White Aura Dolphin charges instead, shattering Mobius into shards of light!*

*Enemy LP: 400*

*The fish-person shrugs* "That hurt... Well, I'm not gonna win at this rate. Besides, I don't want to get too injured by this. Good job! Here, have this for beating me."

*Obtained Atlantean Attack Squad x1!*
Thanks. Wait so running out of LP can cause damage to the player?
"Well, you kinda get damaged either way. For example, Mobius's attack hit you indirectly for some damage, and summoning monsters drains your life energy. Think of LP as your overall health kind of like..." *They tilt their head* "A 'video game,' as you call it."
Huh, okay. Does running out kill me or just injure me?
"Unless it's deliberate overkill to your LP, you'll just be unable to fight. Knocked out at most. Thankfully..." *Both their gems glow. Hibki's cuts from the ice vanish* "These things restore LP after each battle!"
That's nice. Any other tips or tricks you can tell me?
"Not much else, other than pay attention to the glove. It kinda helps you out. It's kinda getting late around here, so you might wanna head back to your world. Oh, and I've heard those glove things can't really work in your world..."
Alright then, thanks! *He starts heading back to the portal.*
*As he exits the portal, the stone gate disappears. Who knows when the portal to Karudo will return?*
