The Raven's Ruin
Neesh stares at the screen for a bit, then hands the device over to Sen and sits down. “We can’t find the water. This screen is weird too. Human things are confusing.” They cross their arms like a frustrated child. This does little in terms of progress, though, so they put aside their irritation to put brainpower into the human device. They eventually come up with something the human might be able to do. “Can you stop all the things? We don’t like all the machines.”<div class='edited'>(edited by Neesh)</div>
The Raven's Ruin
Neesh's ears flatten. This place doesn't feel natural at all and they hate it. Whatever made it disturbed their sleep and they need to find out why. Those two facts drive the creature masquerading as human into the entrance. Neesh runs inside as if leaping into a cold pool to get the shock over with. The metallic smell is overwhelming but they press on without even listening to the others.
The Raven's Ruin
The beasts stop to listen to their surroundings. Nothing is breaking down or exploding. They’d been worried for nothing. They’re not sure where to go from here, so they decide to sit down and rest for a bit. Adam licks at some burns on one of his paws. Eve rests her head on his back, staring at the group curiously, almost quizzically. She seems at a loss of what to do next.
The Raven's Ruin
The tan beast snarls and backs away from the sparking robots. She doesn’t like that electricity. For the narrator’s convenience, let’s call her by her proper name, Eve. She inhales deeply then lets out a breath of pure fog at the robots, obscuring their vision. The ginger beast, Adam, has a breath trick of his own. Once Eve finishes her attack, he leaps in front of her, rears up on his hind legs, and breathes a fireball at the rightmost robot. Both of these halves of Neesh are out for blood (or oil, since these are robots). They pay the new humans little mind. <spoiler>Action: Eve: Fog Breath (Reduce Attack and Accuracy/Evasion of all foes) Adam: Agidyne (High Fire attacking rightmost robot)</spoiler>
The Raven's Ruin
Adam and Eve snarl and combine their powers again. Fire and ice, swirling together in a blast that hits the last robot. Once this final attack is done, their bodies become transparent and fuse back into the humanoid known as Neesh. Neesh falls to the ground and curls up with their arms around their knees. They sit there, recovering, silently watching the humans. They don’t see the female human that saved Adam. Where is she? They flatten their ears and whine. <spoiler>Action: Agidyne and Bufudyne, high fire and ice respectively. Time to finish off this boi.</spoiler>
The Raven's Ruin
Neesh attempts to skid to a stop, but the damp floor causes them to skid too far and tumble off the edge. They don't know what to do and they can't swim like a human can- But they can swim like beasts. As they fall, their body becomes transparent, tumbling and morphing. A canine beast with tan fur pushes off something and uses her forepaws to catch the edge of the platform, struggling to climb back on. The other beast that had formed, a beast with ginger fur, is pushed back by his counterpart and the water and is swept downstream. The humanoid known as Neesh is nowhere to be seen.
The Raven's Ruin
Neesh freezes up at the sudden touch on their shoulder. The human’s stopping them? ...Oh. This human looks worried. No wonder. Neesh must look at terrible as their other half feels. Neesh gives Sen a small nod and follows her, fighting against the urge to run ahead. They just need to keep calm and focus on making sure their other half doesn’t drown. They’d feel better if that half could see anything but it’s all a blur on his end.
The Raven's Ruin
The two beasts make noises that can best be described as excited. With the scary machine dying, the duo bound towards the door. They’ll be following the waterway path to the higher floors once they’re through since that’s the one they know best. They don’t bother rejoining. Four legs are faster than two! Were they more aware of pop culture, this would be the perfect time to make a Metroid joke.
The Raven's Ruin
Adam and Eve nod to each other then split up. Adam creeps towards the roaring, staying close to any humans that go that way. Eve decides to investigate the sound of fighting - not getting too close, but just close enough to assess the situation. They don’t intend to be separate for long. If one needs the other, they can simply know. That is the unity of Neesh.
The Raven's Ruin
Neesh breathes warm breath onto their hands, cursing their lack of fur right now. They sniff the air. It’s too cold and metallic to make sense of anything. Their eyes work fine, though, and they soon find the strange gash. They begin to wriggle their way inside. Once through, their ears perk up at the continuous overlapping footsteps. They stare out from the gap’s entrance to observe who has followed. These people are human. Some humans are good. Some are bad. These humans are... Neesh doesn’t know.
