You can add an optional email to your account when registering on site. For existing accounts, you can go to settings and add an email here. Emails are completely optional and will only be used to recover forgotten passwords. Your email will never be shown to anyone. One email can be associated with many different accounts. To recover password you need to enter account username and email associated with that account (it's to prevent unwanted spam)
