Inokashira Park
*In a certain park I've made way too many threads for, A familiar Lavendar-haired figure stands by his usual place near the pond. He tosses a shard of ice into the air a couple of times, before skipping it into the water, Wherever it strikes, the water freezes, but the ice soon melts, returning the water to normal. The figure smiles, as he tosses in another shard*
*Gamma throws another shard and begins talking to the wind* You know, I've never been anyone special. Not really. I've made some splashes of my own. *Gamma throws in some ice, ripples spread outward from where the shard his the water, but are soon swallowed in the lake* But of course, none of that really matters now. The world always remains the same in the end.
*Suddenly when Gamma isn't looking a white haired child appears next to him staring into the pond. The young child looks somewhat lost and has a blank look in their eyes.* Is this what you do when you're bored?
Geez Gamma, brighten up a little. [Kazuya takes notices of Gamma as he was waking by, carrying a bag of groceries. The young walks up to the lavender-haired guy.] Hey.
*is floating around, spinning their stick/scythe*
*Gamma chuckles, then looks at the child* Bored isn't the word for it really. Just helps me calm down and focus my thoughts. I wouldn't say its entertaining really. *Gamma throws in another shard before looking back at Kaz* Well, there's not really much going on now. So I'm simply thinking. How many people do you think simply live, and the world never really notices them?
Even more than you think, probably. [Kazuya yawns and pulls out an apple from his groceries, taking a bite.] Is that all you're thinking about? I'm sure there must be something else. You're deep like that, from what I've heard and seen.
*Gamma tosses a larger shard into the water, watching as it freezes a small patch of ice* They probably never think about it. How they walk through life like a phantom, living out their own wonderful stories, while making as little of an impact as possible. I find it a bit sad honestly.
[Kazuya just stares at the apple before turning to Gamma once more.] That's their call, most people just want a normal, quiet life to be happy however they can, I can't reallu judge anyone because of that, I'm not different. That's my opinion though, I've had the chance to meet a lot of different people and see their sides of the same story. Usually just living is enough. [Kazuya takes another bite of his apple before smiling.] Anyway~
Everyone wants to be noticed, they want someone to see, someone to care. Its true, not everyone wants to be famous, but none of them want to be forgotten. *shrug* Its part of human nature. *Gamma looks back at Kaz, curious* You sound like you have more to say, well, I'm sure you must be quite busy. No need to wait for me.
My, to think a human like you would have such a grim outlook. *A man with snow white hair, and an alternating black and red shirt floats down to the water and hovers a few inches above the surface.* How truly wonderful. I must ask, human with hair of pink. What is so sad about humans completing their own stories? As long as they are satisfied with their own existence, does the larger picture truly matter? All a man may know is his own reality, so to that man, he has made the biggest difference possible. Why live your life for the sake of others? I ask you this not out of spite, but curiosity. I wish to know your outlook in detail, if it is no inconvenience to you.
There are many ways to be remembered and live on way after death. While it's true some want the fame, as it's the easiest way to be remembered, some just settle for the people around him, be it family, co-workers, classmates and friends. Your ideas, moments of laughter and crying stay with them, even if the person in question is despicable, chances are they will not be forgotten, even if it was just a moment, gone in the blink of an eye. [Kazuya looks up to the sky for a moment, and takes a bite of his apple before looking at Gamma again with a relaxed expression.] I still need to get home, I was buying some stuff, but I live in Kichijoji which is a few mintues away from here. You would be surprised how much I come to this place too, I have good memories of people here, and so, I decided to take a walk for a bit.
*Gamma stares at Al for a moment, blinking, before he sighs and straightens up* Well, that part certainly depends.... Whoever you are. If they truly enjoy their life, no matter how meaningless it may be, then I suppose its not my place to judge. Still, I can't help but wonder how wasted it is. What they might have been able to do were they not so short-sighted. Amazing, isn't it? A human's value can only be determined by the impact they have on those around them after all. The greater the impact, the greater their worth. As a general rule. And what greater impact could be had than changing the world? This is the goal of a great many ambitious people. Though they rarely succeed in doing something meaningful, they do SOMETHING. *Gamma then looks back at Kazuya, seemingly bored* Honestly, such a focus on the individuals, the neighbors, ones directly around you. Its a sweet sentiment really, but incredibly short-sighted. Even if you change one person, so that they never forget you, its only a matter of time before they are forgotten themselves. After all, we're only human.
*The man smiles, and claps his hands together.* How splendid! You remind me of a man I knew a long time ago, or perhaps it is more accurate to say I will know him. Either way, I believe I can provide a competent counter-argument. Only to aid in your growth, of course. I must ask, human. Why are you so fixated on impacting those around you? Why not focus on your own potential, and your own happiness? Why should a human's worth be determined simply by how they affect those around them?
*Gamma begins tossing and catching another shard of ice, focusing on it more than the others* Its simple, stranger. The only measurable way to see your potential, is how you compare to others, how you can affect them. I've never been anything special really, but still I have to wonder. Just how behind am I? Not that it matters of course, more to the point, if I never really do anything, then where's the proof that I even existed? Would be a shame to flicker out, like a wisp upon the wind. No, I'm going to leave a mark on this place. I won't simply be forgotten.
*Superbia continues looking at the pond without turning. An expression of boredom crossing their face.* I don't get you, adults... What point is there in thinking about such things? Isn't it enough to be able to stand against all unopposed? *Superbias eyes glow brightly with a white light.* I don't need a point anymore because no matter how much I look there is none. You can be as powerful as you wish to be but if there's nothing to do with that power then it's just... Just boring. *Superbia looks down into the water before spotting a fish. With a swift movement, he summons a spear of light and sends it forward to impale the fish. A small trail of blood can be seen floating to the top of the water.* A mindless creature...
*A strange figure goes treading through the park. A young neko, who looked to be blowing off some steam....*
Every person is a world, no matter what you do or think, nothing will ever be absolute, including the concept of what a "human" is is bound to change, and it has in the past. I know it has in my world. [Kazuya finishes his apple.] Regardless of any actual definition of the word and scientific stuff. Mostly subjective things and different points of view, you know what I mean. Now, while I used the people around one as an example, it applies to everyone, really. No matter what, everyone is connected in one way or another, in my opinion, everyone is the same, because we can create a balance with each other. And, well...because of that, I don't fight for nothing but the people around me, I fight for as many people as I possibly can, my bonds have different bonds of their own, and so on until everyone is connected, somehow. So I figured it would be best to fight for everyone, even if that ended up in the death of my only friends at the time. [Kazuya laughs nervously for a moment, rubbing the back of his head.]
*is just floating around still* Ahh, it is a beautiful day outside.... *lays on the stick/scythe hybrid
*Gamma stops toying with the shard as he looks over to the child* But what use is there to simply having power? Using it just for fun is rather, well, rather childish at best. Truly, there's hardly a point to having any unless its directed towards some purpose. Strength is the ability to bring the world you desire into being, and the will to let nothing stop you. If you have no goal, no desire, its impossible to really be strong. *Gamma then looks at Kazuya over his shoulder, before shaking his head and sighing* You make it sound like your bonds are something tangible, something permanent, something real. In truth, they're a matter of convenience. Sure, you may have claimed they were your friends, but as soon as their existence was inconvenient for you, you snuffed them out. *chuckle* Not a very nice thing to do, is it? Lets face it, you weren't fighitng for bonds or anything, no, you wanted to feel like the man who saved the world, even if you didn't care who knew it. You wanted the pride, the sense of accomplishing something far beyond yourself.
*teleports in* .....*deep breath* BOI
*The kid, upon noticing Gamma and Kaz, ducks into a bush... perchance spying?*
*Gamma looks over to Genm, confused* Well, yes, I am a boy. Thank you for noticing.... I imagine you walked over here.... What exactly are you doing?
THAT WAS DIRECTED AT THE CRINGE NOT THE EDGE
....... I'm not that edgy, am I? I mean.... I guess I can see where they're coming from.... Oh well, that's not the point. You never answered my question.
*Superbia looks at their own hands. For once it seems they are pondering rather than simply looking at everything with a bored indifferent expression.* How exactly does one find a purpose. I was born with no real value... I was just a device in which to hold the pride of others. All I have is other people's pride... Hubris only wanted me to oppose those that would get in his way so now that I no longer follow Hubris, what am I?
[Kazuya just looks at Gamma with a strange expression.] Geez Gamma, light up a bit, you just assumed so much out of nowhere to feel like you're better. [Kazuya sighs.] Now, you can believe whatever you want, that's the beauty of individualism and freedom, but I will try to shed some light on what happened so long ago. Well...I never fought for bond, just like my friends, we were fighting for what we believed was right. I fought for a world where humans could decide for themselves, Yuji fought for YVHV's Millennium Kingdom and Takeshi for a world of strenght, that put us at odds with each other, we were the only ones with the power. Be it luck or just a cruel fate, in the end, the entire world was resting on our shoulders. We had was to fight for and against each other for something bigger than us. But I know we are still friends, I'm proud of them just like I know they are of me, regardless of the end of it. Pride? Accomplishment? Being a hero? No, there was nothing like that for me, just what I had to do. Even then, none of us were right or wrong with our views. [He sighs.] Man, that took a while.
*A head pokes out of a bush!* WHATEVER YOU WANNA BE! *And then vanishes back into it.*
*Gamma looks over to Superbia, and shrugs* You're the only one who can choose your purpose. Whatever change you feel like you want to make in the world. Or you could simply ensure the world knows. That you did exist, that there is a reason. That's the surest way to live, no regrets, just results. *Gamma returns to playing with his ice shard, throwing it into the lake after a few moments* Its not out of nowhere. Really, everyone's alike that way. You say you wanted everyone to be able to decide on their own, but isn't that what this "Takeshi" wanted as well? A world where everyone can do whatever they want so long as they are capable of doing it. Seems like you're contradicting yourself a bit there. People fight for their ideas for the same thing you so boldly accused me of. A desire to feel like they're so much more than they really are. They let this idea they so enjoy grow in their minds and in their hearts, and devote themselves wholly to it.
You don't get the complete idea, it was an extreme. [Kazuya nods, remembering Takeshi's ideal.] Right, Takeshi had great points, the freedom is something everyone wants and allows us to be, in a way. That's right, but the thing is, the world he was trying to create was devoid of any order. Conflict would be endless and death would be the one norm. I couldn't accept his world, the same way I couldn't accept Yuji's world of order. It was going to allow people a chance at true peace and happiness, but only by getting rid of "non-believers" and freedom, a complete dictatorship. I tried to create a world with the best of these two, a balance of sorts, and after spending time with the people, talking and listening, I realized that the world already is something like this, but it takes massive amounts of sacrifice to protect, especially when it's an almost dead world, that's the downside of it.
*Superbia begins to stand up. It seems there are tears falling from his eyes but he doesn't emote as such and only has the same bored expression as usual.* What do I want? A world...of my own making? I... *Superbia begins walking out onto the pond as he steps on the air above the pond. Light seems to forms under the bottom of his feet as he walks.* I... I want to... *Superbia turns and looks at Gamma with his eyes widened.* I want to be like you...
*Gamma looks back to the lake, watching the ripples move across from where he threw the ice* You put an awful lot of stock into your idea of balance. Its a bit strange, though I can't say I blame you for it Kaz. *Gamma looks at Superbia, before turning back to the waters* Well, I'm afraid I don't really see why you would, but your want is your choice after all, not my place to call it ridiculous or not
All of us believe in something, and to truly believe in something means one must be ready to die for it. It's only natural I have to be sure of my own choices, and pay the price it may have, no matter what it is. [Kazuya bows to Gamma, showing him respect. And then his mostly serious expression turns into another, more carefree and even with a dumb smile.] It was nice seeing you in something besides a battle, like yesterday, I will be taking my leave since I have to put some of these in the freezer soon, I don't want to buy more stuff soon so...! [Kazuya waves at Gamma as he leaves with his groceries.] See ya!
*Gamma shrugs and watches Kaz go, before checking his phone* Honestly, I should probably follow his lead. It was a nice chat and all, but has taken more time than I expected. No matter. I don't care what it takes. *Gamma looks back across the lake, he smiles as he look out at the waters, before turning away* The world won't forget me. I'm going to leave my mark behind.
