A park bench.
<Eiji slumps down on a bench, and plants his tomorrow's beside him> "This place is crazy! Cafes go to war, but they also serve alcohol! Was that really a cafe though? It looked like the kind of place someone could get a Love Combo!"
*Eris is walking by on her way back from LeBlanc when she catches sight of Eiji. She sits down on the bench beside him and smiles* You seem troubled, little lamb. Perhaps there's something I can do to help you, even if it's just listen for a little while.
<Eiji smiles innocently> "Nothing's really troubling me! I've got my tomorrow right here!" <Eiji shakes a stick with boxers hanging on it> "As long as I have a pair of underwear for tomorrow I have nothing to worry about!"
*Eris giggled and begins playing with one of the amulets on her staff* Well, you're certainly an optimistic one. I'm glad to hear you're doing well little lamb. It brings me much joy to see a smile on the peoples' faces.
<Eiji scratches his head> "I don't really think I try to put smiles on people's faces. D-don't get me wrong though! There's nothing better than to make someone happy, but I like to make sure they're safe before knowing their desires!"
*Eris focuses on a small amulet depicting a kneeling angel, sword planted in the ground* Fighting is so sorrowful, I never could stand it. It's unfortunate that conflict is often necessary. *Eris smiles and looks back up* I'm glad I have yet to see anything like it here. From what I can tell it's peaceful, if a bit busy.
"It's hardly peaceful! I mean it IS more peaceful than having to fight Yummies or the Greed, but it's not normal by any means!"
*a tall skeleton walks by, humming a song*
<Eiji tears his eyes away from Eris and stares wide-eyed at the skeleton walking by> "J-j-just a minute! Is that a costume!? It isn't Halloween! Could it be a Yummy? Man my head hurts thinking about this!"
Saeko was wandering through the park on her way home, taking a few moments to take in the peaceful atmosphere in contrast to the place she came from. As she continued on, she stopped abruptly near a familiar park bench, with a silent man sitting. Deciding to speak to him, she moves to lean against a nearby tree. "You... were at that café as well, were you not? I recall you running out rather quickly... Not that I can find reason to blame you."
<Eiji jerks up from his bench> "Yeah, I don't think that was the kind of cafe I wanted to be around!"
"It was quite the chaotic place." She sighed. "Much different than the atmosphere one would expect from such an establishment."
"Man, I don't think I'll ever understand romance!" <Eiji sighs, and scratches the back of his head> "Places like those are always fishy!"
"I have never been much of a romantic either. I suppose it is nice they have each other, though I wish they would not be so..." She brings her hand up to scratch her chin, thinking of how to continue. "...willing to court so openly in a public place?"
<Eiji pushes up on his forehead with both hands in relief> "Thank goodness! Somebody understands! Most of my friends seem to understand romance, but I could never get the hang of it!"
*turns to hino* HMM? OH, I AM NOT A COSTUME! I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!
<Eiji jumps up, terrified> "It talked! Oh man, it talked! That's scary, but I can't abandon this park, it's my place to sleep tonight!"
*Pops in from a tree above and jumps on Eiji's head* Hey guys, Pika here!
<Eiji swats at his head> "Get off get off! This place is crazy! I thought I was safe!"
*Jumps off* Hey nerd. *Drinks whiskey*
As the strange creatures begin to pop up from seemingly nowhere, Saeko is stunned once again and closes her eye, her eyebrow twitching as she attempts to hide her annoyance. "T-Truly... there is no safe place here, either? No respite for the weary?"
DO NOT FEAR HUMAN! I SHALL NOT HURT YOU! I SHALL PROTECT YOU INSTEAD!
<Eiji's expression and posture normalize> "Oh I see, this is a dream! I'll wake up and be back in Egypt!" <Eiji waits a considerable amount of time before he frowns and looks down dejected> "No good, huh?"
*A brief respite of... relative normalcy appears!* Hey, away you two, can't you see he's new!?
*sighs* SADLY, THIS IS NOT A DREAM. WE ARE STUCK HERE.
DONT WORRY SMALL CAT HUMAN! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, SHALL PROTECT THE NEW HUMAN! NYEH HEH HEH!
<Eiji jumps up once again> "I-it's you! From that love cafe! Look, I'm sorry for barging in, but I don't want to be a part of that shady business!"
Who the fuck is this skeleton whore doing here?
Saeko continues to stand by the tree, seemingly unable to take it as more strange events seem to pile up. "Rodent... Skeleton... Feline, no... human?" She whispers to herself. "Even after things being explained, I can hardly understand." She speaks up and addresses Eiji, a smile across her face, though given the situation, it seems forced. "So... Egypt, you say? I am not familiar with such a word, is it the name of your home?"
It's not a love cafe. Honestly that's just Joker. She does that. I was just on my way back and saw these two getting all comfy with you. Figured the savior needed some saving.
<Eiji looks back at Saeko> "Oh no I don't really have a home! I was just there for personal reasons!... Wait, you don't know what Egypt is? Most people know what that is... OH WELL, I know when not to pry! After all I've been told I'm one of the few people who would tell my life story to a stranger!" <Eiji turns back to Migrant with a confused look on his face> "I don't think many cafes allow that much affection, nor do they sell alcohol!"
Yeah.... the alcohol thing is kinda... out there. I don't touch the stuff. Honestly what they serve is strong enough to kill most people. Or used to be, anyway.
OOC: If yall look int eh LeBlanc right now, you would see that much alcohol has been consumed this day*
<Eiji scratches the back of his head again> "I think this place just doesn't know what a bar is. See, where I come from, any place that sells alcohol to most of its patrons and allows that much love to be shown publicly is called a "Bar"."
[Beer Mom's voice can be heard from a distance.] STRONG ENOUGH TO KILL PEOPLE? WHAT THE FUCK?
Oh we have those. Try Crossroads, it's great. Truth be told the original-original LeBlanc didn't serve alcohol. Just coffee and curry. Weird combination, but it works.
"No home huh? Well, I cannot say I am much different. As for Egypt, given the nature of where we are, I imagine there are a number of people who are unaware of what 'Egypt' is."
""Where we are?" So you know what this place is? Thank goodness! I just woke up here, so forgive me for being a little lost!"
(Homura walks into the clearing, a confused look crossing her face at... Colorful cast around this park. Rather than engaging a gun toting rodent or a skeleton Homura walks up to Saeko and Eiji, a small on her face as she waves at two utter strangers) Hello there, it's nice to meet you two... So then what are you guys talking about? (She beams at the two and blushes for a moment, slightly stunned by her rudeness) Oh and I'm very sorry about being so sudden... Homura Akemi and it's nice to meet you two! I've just been a little bored lately so uh yeah, should at least introduce myself first, sorry again. (The girl looks down at her feet and glances about for a moment) Oh and who are you, if you don't mind my asking?
<Eiji looks down at the girl newcomer> "A normal seeming person! My name's Hino Eiji, nice to meet'cha!" <Eiji has a goofy smile on his face>
So, we got 2 newcomers. A nerd and a girl. Wonder who comes next... *Pulls out whiskey bottle and drinks*
Well, it looks like things have calmed down. See you around, underwear-guy. *Waves and departs the park. For Eiji's own sanity.*
Saeko nods at Homura's self introduction, then Eiji's, seeming a bit relieved. "Ah, nice to meet you, Miss Akemi, Mister Hino. I am Murakami. Saeko Murakami." Her attention turns to Homura. "I do not wish to be rude, but... you seem rather young to be running around at this time."
(Homura stares at the Pikachu in shock... Obviously disturbed by it's alcohol abuse. Once she's done cowering from that the girl turns back to Eiji) Yeah, lots of people around here... Don't really seem much like people honestly, kinda worrying sometimes. Anyways though welcome to this crazy place Eiji-kun! It can be a bit odd at times but so far I've found it fun. Hopefully you'll enjoy your stay too. (She giggles at Saeko's concern and waves off the awkwardness of it) Oh don't worry about that too much Saeko-san, I'm very capable of taking care of myself if needed.. And I don't really have any family or anything so I have to be, and please call me Homura-chan. Just Homura if you want, Miss Akemi feels weird!
Yeah yeah Homura-chan... *Drinks more alcohol*
"That's two people who know what this place is! Man, I'm getting really lucky here!" <Eiji does a fist pump as he says this>
"Hmm. Homura, then... Seems to be a common trend." She says while pondering the bit about her family. She turns her head to address Eiji. "Perhaps, though I am still wondering if knowing about the 'Nexus' really means much anymore."
"'Nexus'? Is that where we are? It sounds like some company name!" <Eiji grins at his comment>
(The girl shrugs at Saeko's question, obviously not Kno or caring much herself) I wouldn't know about that Saeko-san... I just want to keep people I care about safe and help whoever I can! St the end of the day if I've made one person's life a little better it's a good day right!? (She grins at the other two with a proud look on her face... Before utterly running any gravitas her statement could have by gigging at the man's joke)
So do are you nerds just gonna hang around at this park bench?
"Of course I'm gonna hang around here! It's my place to sleep!" <Eiji gestures to the stick with his underwear hanging on it>
Uhh, hey man, you should get a house. They're like, I think completely free.
"Wanting to help, even if it is only a single person, hm? A familiar sentiment, though not a bad one to have I suppose." At Eiji's comment she looks over and only notices his 'tomorrow' hoisted like a flag and sighs. "...Have you no shame? This is a public place."
"Would you rather I wear two pairs at once? After all once I've gathered my bearings I should be on the move once again. That, and my Tomorrow's has my valuables in it! I need to be able to watch it at all times!"
... He's not wrong Eiji-kun, I'm still trying to figure out how the economy works here. Em-san just gives me guns and knives for free... But really the houses aren't so much free as well abandoned. Em-san's store is still a mystery to me though. (A look of surprise crosses the girl's face as she considers why so many things are abandoned. And how the hell Em stays open as well)
"Eh!? You mean everything's free here!? I need to find a way to get Ankh back and soon! He'd love being able to have all that ice cream!"
"Y-Your... To...mor...row?" Her eye open wide as her eyebrow twitches, she spends a moment pondering what in the world he is on about, before sighing and nodding. "They are not wrong, the economy here is... strange. I have seen some people pay with strange currency, or simply not at all. Though... I am a bit nervous to ask the bartend-... 'café owner' about it directly. I have had enough of being seen as strange. As for a home well..." She digs out of her pocket a key, and twirls it a bit before pocketing it again. "I admit I swiped a key and found as residence for myself. It is small but functional for me."
Oh you're looking for someone Eiji-kun? I hope you find him soon... It's funny, there's someone I was looking for when I got here myself, then one day she just turned up. So maybe you'll get lucky too! (The girl smiles and nods at her words, clearly honestly thinking this course of events isn't highly doubtful)
"Oh, n-no! I'm not looking for anyone, just trying to help him!" <Eiji fiddles with something in his pocket>
Help him... Is he around somewhere else then Eiji-kun? Well either way I hope everything works out for you! Oh and if you think I can help let me know! I don't look like much but my power is decent enough for healing people if I need to! (She smiles at them with a proudness to her voice, healing people might not be her only skill but if you asked Homura she'd say it's by far the best... Better to help than cause more harm)
"But man, this has been a crazy day!" <Eiji flops onto the bench and closes his eyes> "I'm sure we'll see each other around sometime." <Eiji has passed out>
"Helping a friend? Seems to be a noble goal. Given what this world is like... I would not be surprised if something or someone here, somewhere, has what you need." Turning towards Homura, she smiles. "Ah, Homura, are you training to be a doctor perhaps?"
"Oh... he fell asleep." She puts her hand to her chin and shakes her head, sighing.
A doctor... I actually did want to at one time but, (she pauses for a moment trying to find the way to say this) To sum it up things happened, no I'm not a doctor. Just another person who happens to have a few magic tricks up her sleeves honestly. (She smiles at the thought of actually being normal again, magic isn't always a good thing after all) Heh, kinda wi... No not using that word. It would be nice if I'd never gotten into that mess to start with frankly, but I can't change it so no sense worrying! (The sad look on her face as she spoke those words gives way to a somewhat forced grin as she finishes. Obviously whatever she's seen, this one's not feeling like sharing her life story)
She crosses her arms and closes her eye and listens to the small noises around them before speaking. "Ah, I see. Magic... I suppose at this point, I should be used to that answer, expect it even." She opens her eye and stares at Homura with a somber expression. "You as well.. have had similar difficulties as everyone else, and at such a young age... It makes me wonder... if all of us being here, within this 'Nexus', is really a coincidence... or..." She trails off, leaving the thought unfinished as she moves her stare towards the ground.
I... Have had similar thoughts yes, it's like everyone here has had something terrible happen at some point. And yeah, magic and miracles weren't what I hoped for. At least not in my home, here... Honestly I'm jealous of those Persona Users and everything. (Her cheer wanes as the girl gazes at a small purple ring on her right hand, it's purpose isn't clear but the thing obviously has something to do with her issues) If my power gets over used... It'll be bad that's all I can say, them? (She shakes her head) Not really. Sure they might pass out but compared to what happens if my magic ran out? Perfectly harmless. (She sighs and looks up to the moon in the sky, for once not trying to force cheerfulness into herself)
Saeko's writer requests help, as their kitten continues to seek affection, insisting on attention, even if it means walking on the keyboard, or pushing their head into the writers hands. During these events, Saeko looks up at Homura, and glances at the moon as well. "I cannot begin to understand, I have had my fair share of issues... but I am not accustomed to magic and the like. I imagine it must be difficult, detrimental, especially for someone so young..."
... (She nods at Saeko, feeling more concerned over someone else than herself) Yeah, honestly? I'm getting used to dealing with it... A friend of mine though, well I'm not really sure she's so cute out for this stuff... Long story short? The only way to keep our power under control is hunting things called Witches, I've just learned to deal with it. Not so sure Madoka can though. (Her eyes water just a bit as pulls her glasses off, turning down to the ring once more as a sparing match with a swordsmen comes to mind and she whispers) Not really sure if I can either somedays.
Saeko takes out her pocket watch and glances at it briefly. Putting it away, she walks over to Homura and pats her on the head a bit. "I... hope things will turn out all right. I realize how little help that is, but it might be the best I can do. I have been through some rough times, and the things I feel... are something I would wish someone so young would never have to experience." She takes a deep breath and exhales, trying to calm down, before leaving her parting words. "Sorry, Homura. It is quite late, and I should sleep. I suggest you get some rest as well. I think we all need as much as we can get." She heads off in the direction of her 'home', beginning to give her usual wave over her shoulder, but stops. She turns around and looks at Homura directly, before giving a smile and waving at her, then departing for the night.
Yeah I should get home... Madoka's probably worried about me anyways, and it was really nice meeting you Saeko-san! I'm sure we'll get a chance to talk again sometime! (The girl looks cheerfully over to Saeko as she walks away... Before sighing and wandering off in the direction of what she believes to be a barrier, one glance at the man sleeping on a bench simply giving her further cause to deal with it) Geez I hate lying about this... But I don't need to bother her too, (light flashes as her normal clothes are replaced by a Magical Girl uniform) now then time to get to what I really came here for... Geez I hope this goes well. (As the girl steps into a dark corner of the park she suddenly vanishes, whatever happens to be inside there won't survive the... Morning it's not night anymore)
69/10 the bench is wooden so it wooden move and contantly has morning wood
