Meadow of Recollection
A little ways outside the city of Shibuya, a lone boy lays unconscious in the grass. His eyes are close and his clothes are dirty. Slowly but surely his eyes begin to open as he begins looking towards the grass besides him. A look of shock overtakes his face as he slowly sits up. He looks around the meadow but nothing is around him except distant trees leading into a more forested area and the light outline of a city in the distance. The boy simply wonders where he is as he rises to his feet a brushes his pants off. The boy begins to realize that not only does he not know where he is but he doesnt seem to wuite recall the vents leading up to his arrival here either. He begins walking with a passive look, perhaps to find clues as to his where abouts or to figure out how he got here in the first place.
*Soon the young boy notices another figure in the meadow, one with lavendar hair who's sitting in an area where the grass doesn't grow as high. He seems to be playing catch with himself as he overlooks the city.*
The boy sees the lavender haired figure and stares at them for a while in order to discern wether they're friendly or not. Seeming to not be a demon in disguise the boy approaches the lavender haired figure cautiously. He tries to speak up but is for the most part unable to think of a way to start a conversation. He rubs the back of his head with a worried expression. "Uh, hello..."
*The figure catches their small object, it seems to gleam in the sunlight, like a glass orb. They sigh and looks towards the boy* Hey kid, no need to be so shy. Not like I'm going to bite you. *He turns his attention back to the city, and sits there, knees to his chest* I assume you're here to watch too, right? The city almost looks peaceful from this distance. Its nice, really.
*Flonne is walking in the distance and notices Gamma. She waves out to him* Gamma-chan!
The boy looks over to the city outline with bewilderment before returning his attention the his new lavender haired acquaintance. He seems somewhat caught by surprise at the mention of a peaceful city. Such a thing almost seemed foreign to him despite the short amount of time it had been since he had experienced anything relatively normal. His interest then turned to the city itself, the way it was mentioned seemed to be hinting at this city not being peaceful or normal. "What city is that? More importantly, do you know where we are in general?"
*The figure waves to Flonne as she walks near, before turning to the new boy with a sigh* Well, the city is called Tokyo, capital of Japan, all that good stuff. Though I guess where you come from that might not mean anything. As for where we are in general... *sigh* That'd take a lot of explaining, but I'll give you the short version. *The figure stands up and gestures to the world around him* This is what we refer to as the Nexus. You know the sorts of things you'd hear in fairy tales about magic and adventure? Well, a lot of that stuff ends up drawn here. As a result, you'll find individuals from all sorts of ridiculous backgrounds with abilities of their own. Of course, this is due to the fact they're from another world, one where such things are fairly common. *sigh* The important part is that basically anything can happen. As for the how, well, I've been looking into that for a little while.
The boy listens to the lavender haired figure with a passive gaze. To him, all these factors sound rather familiar. Tokyo but not quite Tokyo. Monsters and things from fairytales made real, to him this was his last week already, though considering how it was explained he could imagine that things weren't quite the same. "I'm used to Tokyo but do you know why I might have been out on this field?" The boy suddenly wishes his cousin was around. As frustrating as he could be, he also was usually knowledgeable in terms of the unexplainable.
*Flonne walks up to the two and turns to Kazuya_Minegishi* Hey! My name's Flonne!
*The lavendar figure sighs and leans back, both arms behind his head* Well, if you don't remember coming here, then I'd say this is new to you. This place, the "Nexus" as we call it, drags people and places in. I'm willing to bet you only came here recently. Which means that you must have been dumped here when you came over. Don't worry though, whatever you've been able to do, you'll probably be able to continue doing. *shrug* Not like that's my concern, but well, you'll s.... *The lavender figure hears Flonne and chuckles a bit* Take this little girl for example, her name's Flonne, she's an angel of some sort. Course, I haven't actually seen her do anything other than be super nice
*Kade hadn't really been expecting much, coming out here. It's just a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. He adjusts his orange headphones and looks out at the grassy field. Normal, except for a crowd of people, one of which he vaguely recognizes...* Nah, couldn't be. That guy's too normal to be him. *He shrugs and walks over to them with a small wave* Quite an odd place to meet up, hmm?
OOC: Apologies, I think I fell asleep. I'm sorry I couldn't continue responding.
ooc: It's fine, sleep is pretty important and inevitable. We can probably continue later today (especially because school)
OOC: I've got no issues with it, thigh if I vanish for an hour or so school probably got to me.
OOC: I can't really do anything for 5 hours right now. Timezones can be a pain so I don't know if anyone would want to continue at that point.
OOC: in exactly 5 hours I'll be in Public Speaking class for 15 more minutes, after which I'd probably get 2 replies out before my next class begins and I'm gone for an hour and a half. Same thing applies to my next class.
OOC: can heavy join?
OOC:This private or something?
ooc: I'll be open around then, actually, so that works out for me
OOC: @Arcstrider_Hunter @-Blu_Heavy- from my understanding it's character introduction/ exposition bombing to get him up to speed. I seriously doubt you'd be interested.
The boy considers the lavender haired figure's words. A feeling of curiosity fills him as to the true nature of this place but for the moment there are far more pressing matter. What he was doing? The boy can't quite seem to recall such things. The events of the last few days seem to be blank within his mind. As the boy begins to try and speak on the matter he then notices the young angel girl. Of course, he was wary of an angel though. The angels are the ones who made his life hell for a week afterall and thus he had no reason to believe one could be innocent. "Hello...what kind of angel might you be exactly?" He then notices Kade walking up to him and the others. He assumes Kade to be an average human and decides to reply to him rather than try to determine if he might be hostile or a demon in disguise. "Who might you be? Do you know something about this place?"
Me? I'm Kade, yet another resident of this Nexus place. *Kade grins and slides his headphones off, letting them hang around his neck.* Who might you be? ...And looks like there's yet another angel around... *He keeps his smile, but warily glances at Flonne. At least she seems harmless enough. Much less uptight than the ones he normally meets.*
*the figure chuckles and sits back down, looking over the cityscape* Oh yeah, I probably should have introduced myself. You can call me Gamma. At least, that's what I ask of people. I guess you could call me the resident expert on this place. At least, I've been looking into it for a while. Just need a few more tools really.
The boy looks at Kade and wonders what his relation to angels might be. Could there be others who had their life ruined by God's decree besides himself and those trapped within Tokyo during the lockdown? A strange world this was where such details might not be as clear as just having a bad expierence. Then again, the experiences he's had could be described as a little worse than bad. The boy decides to introduce himself to Jade and explain who he is. "My name is Kazuya Minegishi, I'm a student and until recently I was visiting my cousin in Tokyo but...things got complicated. I'm not quite sure what I was doing before coming here but things have been strange to say the least."
*Kade's eyes widen at the mention of Kazuya's name. He shakes his head, muttering to himself.* Nah, couldn't be... Unless... *He shrugs and smiles again.* Don't mind me, just talking to myself again. Bad habit of mine. Anyway, nice to meet you, Kazuya! If you need a tour 'round here, feel free to ask. *He was almost tempted to add "You're a lot nicer in person," but that would just confuse the both of them. Plus, the guy seemed to be having a few memory issues.*
Kazuya looks over at the two and smiles. It seems that these individuals are trustworthy for the most part. Well, trustworthy in the sense that they don't immediately try to attack him for a nonsensical reason. Still, he feels as if something's off. Like there's something He's ment to do but isn't. Though, he's used to such feelings by now. So many individuals were pulling him in different directions last he remembered. He remembers choosing one person in specific and that this individual was important in some way. No matter how much he tried he couldn't recall though. He looked between Gamma and Jade and decided to reply. "Thank you for filling me in, Gamma. It'll be useful to know that what I'm dealing with isn't normal." He looks over to Kade. "As for the idea of showing me around, I might take you up on that offer. You seem trustworthy enough and I'm not sure where we are still exactly. It looks like Tokyo but last time I was in Tokyo wasn't exactly normal either."
Sweet! *Kade flashes Kazuya a thumbs-up, and looks over at the city nearby.* Well, you're right in the fact that this is like Tokyo. Heck, it's basically Tokyo itself, with a few things switched around. Like those weird cafes. Oh, and rule number 1: don't go into them if you want to avoid chaos. *He shudders, having flashbacks to a certain incident.* It's not good for your mental health.
*is just walking around, taking in the sights* Ahh..... So beautiful out here.....
Oh, it's him. *Kade sighs and looks over at Bona.* Looks like they got him outta that UFO or whatever... long story.
*sits on the grass and just looks at the sky*
Kazuya returns Kate's thumbs up with one of his own. He smiles warmly, a smile he feel he's given to multiple friends before but hasn't given someone in a while. "I'd rather avoid trouble. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, I'd rather avoid a fight without having a reason for one."
*Gamma shrugs and lays down in the grass* Well, someone's gotta do the explaining. Guess I'm lucky enough to be the one. Not that it matters of course. Just another day. *Gamma yawns and closes his eyes*
Nice, good to see someone has some common sense around here. Anyway... If you're worried about demons, there's barely any around. They kinda stay to their own little section, and they're very weak. *Kade twirls his headphones cord around his finger as he talks.* Even if any did come around, the Persona-users here would take them out easily. Think of them as bootleg demon tamers. But yeah, some people want to leave, but nobody's found a way out as far as I know. Me? I'm fine with this. Much nicer than back home.
Kazuya looks a little surprise at Kade's mention of demons. It seems some comforts of home tend to follow you wherever you go. However, he is relieved to hear of the little influence they hold here. He notices Gamma laying down and decides not to bother him as he appears to be trying to relax on the grass. Kazuya looks back to Kade and tries to discern more information on what a persona-user is exactly as well as what Kade meant by things being finer than back home. "It's a relief to know that demons don't pose as much of a threat here though I'm curious as to what a persona-user is. If they're bootleg demon takers then they don't pose much of an issue as far as abuse of power goes, I would hope. Also, what do you mean by better than home? I could sympathize but I'm still a little curious how much worse your home could be to one infested by demons of any kind."
*Kade tilts his head and hums.* Let's see... the best explanation I've got is that it's a manifestation of one's inner self. In terms of how it works, it's basically like using a single demon to fight. Kind of like... you control the demon itself, but it's also part of you. It's hard to explain. But enough delaying the second question... *He stares at a nearby patch of grass. For some reason, he can't bring himself to look Kazuya in the eye.* Compared to where I'm from, the Nexus is peaceful. You know the Tokyo Lockdown? Well, there's still just as many demons worldwide in my home. The free-roaming ones aren't usually an issue since y... the Overlord keeps them at bay most of the time, but demon tamers on the other hand...
Kazuya looks a little shocked by Kade's mention of the lockdown. More so though, the work overlord seems to resonate with him slightly. He begins holding his head as if expierencing a slight headache before looking back up at Kade. "I-I don't think I'm feeling quite well. My head is starting to hurt...do you know where I might be able to rest. I feel tired all of a sudden as well."
*Kade shrugs and lets out a small laugh* Wow, kinda killed the mood there. But about a place to rest... I just sleep wherever, but there's quite a few places around that'll probably let you stay. As much as I usually dislike those previously mentioned cafes, they have really comfy seats.
Kazuya forces a smile through his discomfort. "It's fine, my story isn't all too happy either. My head's just a bit of a mess now too." Kazuya tries to regain his focus as he starts walking towards the city. He doesn't believe Kade to be a bad person but is somewhat surprised his mention of demons and a overlord. The lockdown was already the worst experience of his life but to be trapped in a worldwide lockdown is something he couldn't even imagine. Who was this overlord who fought them off anyway? Something about it felt familiar but for the moment he wasn't too sure about such details and their true meaning. "I think I'm going to try to find a place to rest for now. See you later." Kazuya continued off into the distance as he approached the city.
See ya. *Kade waves, then starts heading across the meadow. He laughs a little once more.* To think I'd meet THE Kazuya Minegishi... he's not as bad as I expected. But I guess you have to be a person with sense to keep demons from attacking your subjects. *He finally finds a nice, sunny spot and sits down.* But I wonder what that means for this place... Or if he's even the Overlord in the place he came from. *Those questions won't be answered yet. For now, Kade takes in the beauty of the meadow.*
