Starting a Garden
It's a quiet district of the Nexus. Abandoned and destroyed buildings line the streets. Amidst the debris, Saeko stands up, staring down at her work. She's been returning to this place every now and then over the past few weeks. Not too long ago, she came here to plant a few small flowers. Now she has returned, and the patch of flowers has expanded a small bit. At Saeko's feet lies several gardening tools and seed packets. While there are still only a few flowers, and some newly planted seeds, Saeko seems rather proud of her work. She smiles gently as she removes her once white gloves, now caked in dirt.
They look quite lovely *Eris stands a little ways behind Saeko and watches, smiling as always* Is this your handiwork? If I didn't know better I'd say you were a gardener.
*Makoto seemingly lost once again finds her self at Saeko's garden. She takes a look around, seeing the work Saeko has put into the small yet pretty garden. She then looks up at Saeko* Oh, nice to see you again! It seems whenever I get lost I find myself over here. *She looks at the garden once more* It seems you've gotten more done since the last time I was here. It looks very nice. Are you paying more respects to the people who have fallen here?
Saeko turns to the sudden voices of the two arrivals. She nods at Eris before turning to Makoto. "Oh, Miss Nijima. Nice to see you again. Yes... I planted the first few to pay respects, though I figured the best way I could do that would be to continue this. To bring color to a place that seems to have been forgotten."
*Eris smiles and continues walking past* I'm glad to hear you've found some measure of peace miss Saeko. I'm afraid I was only passing by, but its still nice to see you again
*Ruka wanders aimlessly as she hears a familiar voice* Sae! Long time no see!
*Floats down from the sky in a cardboard box with parachute on top*
*Makoto smiles* at Saeko* Well, you have certainly done a good job with the garden. Its beauty is a refreshing thing to see. It lifts my spirits up a bit. And I'm sure that the people who have fallen here would have greatly appreciated what you have done.
*Lowe, carrying a plastic bag full of chinese food decided to walk down this distant street to clear his head a little. He just so happened to run into the group ahead, and waves happily.* Yo, it's uhh...Saeko, Makoto, and...sorry I don't think we've met. The name's Lowe, nice to meet ya. *He directed this greeting in Eris' direction, and as soon as he finishes he squats down by the small, developing garden.* Wow, you're still keeping at this. It's pretty admirable. Who knows, maybe your dedication to this place will help bring some life back into it.
*Cardboard box lands in the middle of the garden*
(Homura wanders into the garden, her eyes darting about for a moment as her soul gem glows slightly... She sighs and realizes there is in fact no witch here, perhaps one is somewhat near, but not near enough. Either way she stops searching and smiles widely upon seeing the flowers, her head turns over to Saeko and Lowe before she waves cheerfully) Oh hello there Lowe-kun, Saeko-san. Is this your garden or something? It's very nice to see someone trying to liven the place up a bit! And how have you been? Hopefully nothing bad has happened. (She looks at Makoto and tilts her head, wondering who exactly this person might be given she's never seen her around) Oh and um who are you... I'm Homura Akemi, and hopefully we can get along! (She bows to Makoto for a moment before looking up with a grin)
Saeko smiles and nods at Lowe and Makoto's words. "Thank you. It is nice to hear others feel the same, to know what I am doing is appreciated by others as well." She walks around the small corner, looking at the rest of the empty corner, and the destroyed buildings around them. "Maybe if I continue this... hopefully one day this district will return to how it used to be, no longer ignored by the rest of the city."
*walks up to Saeko* If the city is gonna ignore it tho, what are you gonna do?
<The sound of chimes can be heard in the distance as a man approaches the group> "..." <Eiji is holding wind chimes in his hand. He stares at them so intensely he doesn't even notice the group> "I think this would look nice out front..."
*Lowe smiles at Homura, and stands up.* Nah, this isn't mine. I was just walking home with some dinner when I ran into Saeko here; and yeah it would be nice to have this place back to it's original state. People living here, and enjoying life. Sounds pretty admirable, actually.
Saeko smiles at Homura, and pats her on the head. "I suppose the garden would be mine, yes. Hmm. Perhaps I could find bricks and wood, to create small benches and walkways." As she ponders, the sounds of wind chimes distracts her, looking around and eventually gazing in the direction of Eiji.
<Eiji keeps moving forward, eyes trained on the chimes> "Hmmm..."
(Homura blushes a bit as the elder girl pats her, she's pretty clearly not used to people touching her... Though doesn't actually seem to mind) Um yes that sounds nice Saeko-san.. But what made you come out here to begin with? (She turns over to Eiji with a smile, waving at him before she examines the wind chimes) Hello Eiji-kun, looking for a place to put those up I guess? Oh yeah! Have you been able to find anything about your friend!?
"What made me come out here?" Saeko closes her eye, and scratches the back of her neck. "This place, this destroyed and abandoned part of the city... It reminds me of my home, in a way. It made me think of those who might have lost something here, be it their homes, or their lives." She gestures towards the small garden. "These flowers are just me paying respects to those people, as well as wanting to bring back color and life to this place."
<Eiji's trance is broken on the chimes> "Ah!" <Eiji's eyes widen in surprise, and he almost drops the chimes> "O-oh, it's you folk! I don't recognize some of you though, but that doesn't matter, you all seem friendly enough!" <Eiji directs his focus to the reason his trance broke> "I'm not looking for a place to hang them up really... I already have somewhere in mind, but as for my friend I haven't found anything new yet!"
... (Homura looks around the area sighing as thoughts of her city being torn to shreds come to mind) Yes I understand the feeling all too well Saeko-san, I've seen my fair share of such things... Yeah I think it's a good idea to put some life into this place. (She smiles slightly and looks up at Saeko. Her face showing a clear fondness for the idea of this place)
Saeko's writer apologizes for letting this thread die, but they got suddenly swept up in things outside of the internet. As for Saeko herself, she stands up from tending to the final bit of the small garden. Taking out her pocket watch, she checks the time. "Well I suppose that is enough for today." She says, pocketing her watch, and picking up the assorted gardening tools still on the ground. Nodding to those who still were around the garden, and the flowers as well, Saeko took off down the street. To those who had stuck around and saw her departure, they would see her walk a good distance away, but turn towards a small house. Old but in decent condition, at least compared to the houses flanking it, it did not seem too comfortable of a living space. Saeko walked up to it regardless and... produced a key, opening the door and walking inside, closing the door behind her. It seems Saeko has been staying in a small home not too far away from her new garden.
