Demon Infested Subway Tunnel
Within a subway tunnel that was once used by many denizens of Tokyo a faint light can be seen shining against the decrepit cement walls. Kazuya walks with a pocket light in hand. This was a familiar place to him. In his mind, this was a sign that this Tokyo wasn't so different from his own. He continued walking onwards through the tunnel, unsure of what might be lurking within however based on the light moans and subtle growling he was sure it couldn't be good.
*a short while into the subway Kazuya catches sight of a familiar Lavender-haired teen leaning against a wall, tossing and catching a shard of ice* Kinda figured most people would take the noise as a sign to stay away. Guess I should have known better, huh? On that note, what brings you to this subway anyways?
Slightly shocked by Gamma's sudden appearance, Kazuya almost drops the small light as he stumbles slightly backwards. He regains his balance and turns to face Gamma. Through this process his expression remains neutral. Somehow seeing Gamma surprised him more than if he had come face to face with a demon. He walks up to Gamma with his hand behind his head as if wondering the same question that Gamma asked him. "This was a familiar place. I wanted to see if it still existed in this version of Tokyo but I am surprised to see that not only is it here but it's in a similar state to the version in my own Tokyo. What are you doing here anyway? Is the lack of people your kind of thing?"
*Gamma shrugs and looks around* I've never been much of one for crowds, that much is true. That and I've been investigating magic phenomena recently. Such as the demon infestation here. Though I probably should have left my light on in hindsight. Simply didn't want to attract attention. *Gamma catches his shard once more and slips it into a pocket* You know what they say, in a world of dark, the man with a light is a target.
*As much as he wanted to just go home and get his homework done, a certain snake had been nagging him to explore a little. And explore he did. The silver-haired teen pulls up the hood of his jacket as he walks into the tunnel.* Kind of dark here... *He mutters to something that isn't in sight, but he knows it's there. But to an outsider, he's talking to himself.*
Kazuya thinks on Gamma's words. It's true that demons might be attracted to the light but he wasn't exactly worried about that. He could handle a few demons if he had to and something inside him made him feel like he didn't have to worry about demons. It was a strange feeling that irked him ever so slightly however that wasn't what was important at the moment. Gamma had confirmed his suspicions, this subways system was almost identical to his own. The fact that demons reside within was proof of that. "So, you've seen the demons in here, right? Why isn't anyone worried about them? Demons will kill humans for just about any reason."
Well, people do worry about it, but since the demons don't usually leave the area no one bothers to do much about it. *Gamma grins and steps off the wall* Everyone who can't defend themselves knows to avoid the place. Though I guess it's still kinda dangerous for newcomers. They'd probably learn quick.
*The hooded person perks up a little upon seeing the duo up ahead.* Hey, that's... What are you doing here, Gamma? *He smiles a little as he approaches them. Something moves under one of his sleeves, but it stops after a second.*
Kazuya notices the robed figure approaching and stares between Gamma and them. He seems to reach into his pocket for a moment as a natural defense of sorts but he shows no real fear. He looks over to Gamma before speaking. "Friend of yours? Something about them feels off...no offence." He looks towards the robes figure with a hint of distrust in his eyes but his expression remains passive to the situation.
*Gamma shrugs and looks between the others* Friend might be a bit of a strong word, but Aoi here means no harm. As far as I've seen he's a pretty good person. No reason to accuse him yet. As for what I've been doing here, mostly just preliminary research. I'll probably check back later with more tools, but for now, I have some other business to attend to. *Gamma gestures to Kazuya and Aoi* Kazuya, Aoi, Aoi, Kazuya. You two enjoy each other's company, I'm afraid I've got to go. *Gamma quickly walks in the direction Kazuya came from. Once he's a decent ways away a faint shout can be heard* Shiranui. *and just like that a series of small, blue flames form some sort of shape around him, illuminating his immediate area as he finds his way out*
*Aoi rubs his head sheepishly, smiling at Kazuya.* Well, I'm kind of an odd person, so you're right about that... But as Gamma said, I'm not going to cause any trouble. I'm just exploring. *He waves to Gamma as they leave... then does a double-take upon seeing the flames.* What? ...Oh, right, his Persona. I guess I never saw it in person before...
Kazuya takes his hand out of his pocket but stares at Aoi as if watching to see what he does. His attention is briefly drawn to the blue light but only out of curiosity as to Gamma's Persona. He wondered how it was different from demon summoning as it seemed to simply be demon summoning without a comp such a thing was rare but not impossible. He continues staring at Aoi regardless. "How much do you know about these Personas anyway? What exactly are they?"
Personas? They're... A manifestation of your inner self, so to speak. They tend to be mythological figures. They're kind of like demons, in that way. *Aoi pauses, as if waiting for something to come to him.* Oh, right, they're related to Arcana. You know tarot cards? Personas tend to be grouped by the different types, or arcana. For example, one of my Personas, Icarus, is from the Fool arcana.
*a wooden person walks by the subway tunnel* This nexus place seems very...... Different from the mushroom kingdom.
Kazuya simply listens to Aki's explanation seemingly satisfied with the answer. Something seems to gleam within his eyes for a moment but he quickly turns his attention back to the topic at hand. "Inner self? So in other words, they're created through human emotions. They're not so different from a demon summoned without the use of a comp then. Just replace created with called forth." Kazuya looks further down the tunnel as a light growl can be heard from further inside the tunnel. "Huh? Guess we have been here talking for a while...the demons might be drawn to our voices."
That makes sense... *Aoi looks at the deep darkness of the tunnels. Yep, something's awake... and there's footsteps nearby as well.* And it seems like it. So, should we fight them off, or just get out...? *Something moves under his sleeve again.*
Kazuya once again reaches into his pocket. He glares in the direction of the growling but considers his options. "I guess it depends on you. Can you handle yourself in a fight? I don't want to endanger someone who'd rather not fight." Kazuya starts backing away as the growling gets louder and pulls out a small square device that opens up into a red screen with white text reading: Demon Summoning Program. Behind the text is a small white Pentagram. Kazuya holds the device up in from of them and seems to start typing things in. "Hope I still remember how to use this..."
I can handle myself. *Aoi waves his hand in front of his face, and his outfit changes into a black and silver one in a burst of blue flames. A silver wing-like mask appears on his face. With one swift motion, he tears it off.* Icarus! *A golden humanoid appears behind him, silver wings spread out. It resembles a machine, especially with the jets on its bat-like wings.*
Kazuya finishes typing into the device as the screen begins glowing brightly and red sparks come off it. A single line of text appears on the screen before the light flashes with a brilliant red color. The text states: Let's Survive. As the light subsides two demons take Kazuya's side. One is a humanoid figure with a blue robe and red skin. They hold a fan like object in their hand and gaze forward with a white light in their eyes. The other is a humanoid figure with the head of a lion and wings. Harmonized status: Active... Battle comencing... "Alright! With Yomi and Pazuzu's help everything should be fine." From the shadows of the tunnel a multi-headed hound stumbles forward before breaking into a sprint and lunging at Aki's Persona.
Whoa! *Aoi leaps to the side, and Icarus shoots into the air with a flap of its wings. It hovers for a moment before igniting its jets.* Assault Dive! *Aoi points at the beast, and Icarus shoots downwards at high speeds in an attempt to ram into it.*
Icarus rams into the best midair and knocks it to the ground. It struggles to it's feat with a low growl. Kazuya walks up to the creature and initiates battle with it. Pazuzu's eyes light up as a strange aura shoots out and entangled the demon. Yama waves his fan in the air as flames gather around it before it sends a stream of flames towards the creature in a attempt to burn it alive. The fire burns through the creatures fur leaving it singed. Kazuya holds out his hand as a icy blue aura surrounds it. The aura creates small shard of ice in the air that begin surrounding the demon before ramming into it and causing steam to come of its burnt hide. The demon falls to the ground from the abuse from 4 different sources. It seems the onslaught was too much for a single demon. "Seems like that's that. The demons around here really aren't too strong."
*Icarus lands on the ground with a satisfied click, then fades into nothingness. The mask returns to Aoi's face.* Granted, we all kind of ganged up on it, but it's not too tough either way. Wonder why they're here in the first place, though... probably because of the Nexus. *A small black snake pokes its head out from Aoi's sleeve and speaks.* "That was fast. I didn't even need to show up! But yeah, Nexus shenanigans are at work here. Kinda like how my labyrinths had Shadows." *Aoi sighs and lifts his arm up to get face-to-face with the snake.* Kind of a bad time, Ty.
Kazuya let's out a breath of relief as he closes the comp and Yama and Puzuzu Dissapears in a flash of red light. He puts the device back in his pocket and then notices the strange talking snake. He looks at it with a bit of surprise but simply approaches it with a passive look. "A snake or a demon? If you can talk then can you tell me who you are?"
"Kind of a demon... More like a creature on par with a god, actually! ...At least, I used to be. I kinda got beaten up and became Birdy Boy here's servant. Not too bad, though. I get free food out of it." Very funny, Typhoeus. *Aoi flicks his wrist, and the snake is pulled back in and out of sight.* But yeah, Typhoeus is my other "Persona," although he functions as a mix between a demon and a Persona. Useful, but he gets on my nerves sometimes.
Kazuya curiously looks at the snake before looking away and walking back to the entrance of the tunnel. Something like a demon snake fusing with a human wasn't all too strange especially compared to when he absorbed a demon after beating it. That was how he entered the war for the throne of Bel in the first place...the throne of Bel...something about the thought of that strained Kazuya's mind. That lingering feeling of forgetting something important...but such things would have to wait. It had been a while since Kazuya thought a demon even if it was a weak one. He was tired and thus decided to bid Aoi a farewell. "I'm going now. Maybe I'll see you both around some time. For now, I feel tired. My mind still feels somewhat in disarray and I need some time to get used to this Nexus idea."
*Shaq drives up* Hello, food?
*Aoi nods, letting his clothes return to his normal outfit.* That's probably for the best. I still need to finish something up at home, anyway. It was nice meeting you! *He waves goodbye, and heads out towards the exit. Typhoeus peeks out from his shirt collar to look back at Kazuya, but it promptly nudged back in.*
