Where Life Blooms
Saeko rested in the middle of the garden as a soft breeze passed by. It’s been quite a while since she begun planting flowers in this space, and it has grown into quite the colorful spot. Though the surrounding city remains dead and without life, this one small spot flows with life. However, the center still remains a circle of nothing but dirt, with the flowers surrounding the area. In the dirt, where Saeko is sitting, also lies a pile of bricks. Some like the edge of the circle, creating a border between here and the flowers. It seems she has begun working on a pathway in the garden, but has yet to begin filling it in.
A headphones-wearing teenager hums as he approaches the garden. They look up from their small device, noticing the sudden abundance of flowers... and the woman tending them. Huh. Didn't expect to find someone else in this place. Nice little garden you have here. He wouldn't call himself a gardening nut, but even he could appreciate the bit of color in the dull city. He takes a glance at his device. Still plenty of time to kill.
After walking out of the nearby Genmcade, Gentaro approaches with a small vegetable. Yo, does this place grow food, or is it all flowers! Because if you need some new veggies I got one right here! His grin is extremely wide today.
With the sound of voices, Saeko sighs, and opens her eye, to look at the new guests. "Ah, hello. I do not think most people think anyone still lives in this district, given its condition. But it is nice to receive compliments for my efforts. As for you, I am afraid I am only planting flowers here. Not that there is much space for a vegetable to be planted left."
Eh, it's a bit rough living here, but you can handle it if you're tough enough. Kinda nice to see some flowers around, though. Even in the normal city, you don't see stuff like this place often. He tucks away his COMP in a pocket, then crouched down to look at one of the flowers. He gently grabs a petal in his fingers. It's soft, but delecate. He lets go of the little plant. Pretty things. Can't stand much punishment, though.
Gentaro looks down, a little dejected. Oh, I see. Then uh, anybody want some peppers?
"I imagine there is not much room for even a small garden such as this, in the rest of the city." Saeko shakes her head at Gen's offer, and glances at Kade as he touches the flower. "They are simply flowers, of course they cannot. But they should not need to, if you were to ask me.'
Kade shrugs, standing up after giving the flower a soft pat. Good point. I guess that's why they're in safe spaces like this. You can't just plant them anywhere, after all. He pulls out the COMP again, although keeps it closed. He nods to himself. Never caught your name, by the way. I'm Kade, just an ordinary guy. ...And if nobody else wants 'em, I'll take those peppers.

A girl wanders around the dead city before finding the group of people. Her attire is mostly sky blue and white colors, and her hair tied up into a puffy bun. She walks over, looking at the small garden. Hmm, never thought there would be others here. Hello to everyone, by the way!
Saeko stands, waving with a smile towards the new arrival in light colors. "The name is Murakami. Saeko Murakami. I would not expect you to have caught my name, since I rarely leave these parts, and it is the first time I have seen all of you gathered here."
Oh, hey there, new person. And nice to meet you, Saeko. Kade grins, then gives her a small wave. I gotta go, but it was worth stopping by. Might come along again sometime soon. He re-adjusts his headphones and strolls off, humming to himself.
Ah, Nice to meet you! I’m Nirvexera... or if that’s too hard you can always call me Nixie. She smiles as happily as she can be. So what ya have here in this lil’ garden? Anything special, like interesting flowers or vegetables?
"Nir... Vexera? That is quite an unusual name. But it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well. As for the garden, I suppose it is nothing special. Simply a gathering of flower seeds I picked up at a merchant. No vegetables or fruits to be found. I don't the flowers might be all that interesting to you, they must be rather mundane. I just wished to bring color here, so here they are. To me, who comes from a world without such beauty... They are all interesting to me though."
A young man with a passive but reserved expression is walking by when they spot a small lizard within the garden. They slowly pull out their phone and begin following the lizard around without getting too close. It seems as if they're trying to capture a picture of the reptile and are remaining silent as they follow it around.
Yeah, it is a pretty odd name. It kind of makes sense to me, since my creators are as odd as my name. Nirvexera looks at the simple garden, crouching to stroke one of the flowers. Without beauty, eh? Then I guess these guys mean special to you. Might not be as special to others, but I understand ya. I like your addition here. Not that bad in my opinion.
"If I could, I would like to name this place livable once more. Though building repairs are far out of my expertise." She sighs, glancing with a curious look at Quintus. "...What was it you said about... creators?" She asked Nirvexera.
Oh, did I say something like that? I tend to ramble on without knowing what I say. Sorry about that. She stands up, continuing to look down at the garden. To put it simply, I’m an android. 4th generation creation made by simple people. They only told me my reason of being made. After those words, they dragged me out into the world. Here I am now. Usually I’d be exploring out in the rain only, but this place caught my attention for the day. Nirvexera sighs, rubbing the back of her neck. Sorry, am I wasting your time?
"Android...?" Saeko scratches her head, trying to find a way to interpret what she's just heard. One from a world without such technology could hardly comprehend the meaning of such words. She sighs, ignoring her own questions for the moment. "No, you are not. I have done as much as I wanted to get done today, so it is not as though you are slowing my work."
When life blooms another one dies True fact
Saeko's writer thanks you for the irrelevant comment.
A child wanders through the city streets. Oblivious to the world around him, he simply hums a merry tune as he stumbled along. The child’s bright smile and carefree stroll provide a nice contrast to the ruined landscape. He fails to notice the garden, approaching some of the flowers with his head in the clouds
Saeko collected her things for the night. The place had grown mysteriously silent, despite several others standing there. As she stood, she noticed Kuudere wandering around. "Ah, you... you're that child. I believe I saw you not long after my arrival. What are you doing in a place like this?"
Kuu looks up, as though snapped out of a daze. Unfortunately for some of the flowers he didn’t look up soon enough, one of the plants nearest the road has been stepped on with a crunch. The child looks back at Saeko, scratching the back of his head Oh... Uh... Hey pretty-lady. I was just minding my own business, looking around and stuff. W... Why do you ask?
Suddenly A loud thump can be heard in the garden as Quintus loses his footing on some loose soil while following the lizard. He falls down and hits the ground face first with his hands only cushioning the fall slightly. Ugh...stupid ground! You did that on purpose!
The Child looks over to the older boy, he blinks for a moment after hearing the crash A.... Are you gonna be alright new guy? You’re starting to yell at the ground. Is that normal? Kuu casts a confused glance back at Saeko, blinking for a few moments Is it normal to just yell at stuff? I...I wouldn’t really know.
The boy stands up slightly embarrassed at his outburst. He tries to wipe any dirt off his clothes as he looks at the younger boy while trying to smile. I-I was just frusterated. Falling didn't feel good. Weird considering I shouldn't feel anything with this being a dream.

Saeko tilts her head at Quin's strange display. She appears to be holding back laughter. "I do not believe it is. I have witnessed people let out their frustrations in such a manner but... never towards something like the ground itself." She finally lets slip a giggle as she recalls what he just did aloud.
The Child, stepping over or on a few flowers along the way, makes his way over to Quintus the child tilts their head for a moment A.... Dream? Does that mean you’re sleepwalking? Here, let me help you with that. The Child bends over and pinches Quintus’s arm, before punching his own just to check
Quintus Looks down as the child pinches him. He can't help but smile as he does so. Though, there is a regular thing about Quintus. His skin is abnormally cold to the touch. I actually felt that. This really is the most lifelike dream I've had... Though maybe pinching isn't the best solution. People usually wake up when they die in a dream but since I can feel what it's like to be pinched I doubt I'd like the feeling of death in this dream. Not like I'm in any rush to wake up anyway though. Dreams are usually pretty fun anyway.
The Child steps back, they look at Quintus for a moment, eyes narrowed, as though searching for something But.... If you’re asleep, doesn’t that mean I’m asleep too? Maybe if I wake you up you’ll be able to wake me too? The Child spins around a few times, looking at the sky as he speaks I’d love to be able to see somewhere new, somewhere cool. If this is a dream, I wanna wake up.
"I am sorry to disappoint the both of you, but the garden you have been stepping in is no dream. It is very real. As the one who had planted those flowers, I can tell you that with certainty." She says with a sigh. After a moment of silence, she smiles to herself, with her eye closed. "Though... I suppose you could say, in a way, it is a dream come true. No... a dream still taking shape."
Kuu finds a light within Quintus but it's not the same as others he might have seen. It feels less alive somehow. Quintus looks up thoughtfully at the sky as if remembering something. His expression turns a bit grim as he tries to smile anyway. A dream come true? There's no way this is a good dream. This can only be a nightmare.
Garden? What Ga... Another crunch at Kuu’s feet reminds him that he is standing in flowers, and he quickly jumps out of the flowerbed to avoid any further damage. He looks at his feet, now firmly in the dirt, and begins stuttering O... Oh.... S.... Sorry miss.... I... I... I didn’t notice.... Y... You must have worked a lot..... Kuu looks back up at Quintus, he tilts his head a little, but doesn’t seem to be able to figure out what’s wrong. Instead, the child simply stares at him for a little bit, before turning back to Saeko and bowing A.... Anyways. I... I’n very sorry about your plants... I.... It won’t happen again.

*Approaching the garden, Sterling begins to admire the look and colour of the small, yet still growing garden. This 195cm tall nobleman walks towards everyone. A warm smile is seen on his face* Good day to you all. I say, this garden is lovely. May I ask who constructed this fine garden?
"Perhaps this world has its problems. Maybe they are enough to call it a nightmare. But to me, this small garden is enough for me to think that a dream is coming true, slowly." She says, mostly to herself with a smile. With the smile intact, she pats the child on the head. "It is all right. It is not major damage. Though perhaps I need to hurry and finish constructing the brick path." Her hand drops back to her side as she address the new arrival. "The one responsible for the garden would be me. Why do you inquire?"
*Slams into a wall from nowhere* Ack! I think I broke mai back!
I must say, this is quite lovely. You really did great here. Ah, where are my manners. The name is Sterling. Royden Matthew Sterling. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance *He notices Pika's sudden entrance* Is that you, my little yellow friend? It has been quite some time!
(edited by Royden_Sterling)
Ey there! *Puts on a band-aid, instantly fixing his broken and maimed back* So, how's your day?
It's been steady per the usual. Spent most of my day back at Castle Sterling, where things were quiet as the norm. How about you? What recent adventures, or misadventures have you gotten yourself into?
Quintus rolls his eyes as the strange yellow mouse and nobleman aproach. They looked like characters out of a game or something. Though he wasn't one to talk considering his monotone clothes stained with a blue mark on the chest he decided to make a remark anyway. And now the cosplayers show up...Not A day goes by in this dream where there aren't people in strange outfits.
*Instant triggered* Cosplay?! I am a real pika! *Reattention* Nah. Not much. Been in hibernation and doing nothing.
*To Quintus* I assure you, this is regular attire for me. I try to be a little casual with the look, though the cane I normally don't carry around. *To Pika* Keeping yourself out of trouble I see. Though I won't lie, I was expecting a rather surprising tale from you, but nonetheless, it's good to see things are calm around here.
Yeah, rest in peace leblanc and caffeine cave. Don't really got a hub around here.
She sighs, scratching her head at the sudden attention she's received today. "Leblanc? Was that not a rather well known spot? I heard it was quite crowded quite often, did something happen to it?"
It's kinda abandoned. And caffeine cave too. I still have a grant to Junes though... *Drinks whiskey to fuel his thought processes*
Well, moving on, this place is simply magnificent. There isn't much greenery around these parts, in fact it's almost depressing to see the lack of colour like this throughout the city. If I may ask, do you plan on expanding this fine garden?
"I did not have any plans to necessarily expand it. The flower planting I would say is done... Though I suppose I have replacements to find." She quickly glances at the spot the child trampled. "I was planning to add bricks to create a small place to walk, and perhaps construct a bench in the center of said path. Though that is the extent of my plans. After that, I simply hope it is enough to gather attention to what was lost here. Perhaps it will motivate people to come back, reconstruct that which was destroyed. To remember what has been forgotten."
I see. Well in that case, allow me to offer my assistance. It would be unlike me to leave a person who may need help. Not only that, but I do have some replacement plants at my home over yonder *Sterling points in a direction way beyond the city limits. Literally in a large patch of woods where you would think no one could live in*
"While I appreciate the offer, I shall pass. I still have seeds of my own I can use. Unfortunately, I am quite tired after the antics today. I think I shall depart. If you all wish to stay and enjoy the flowers, you are free to do so, though I request you refrain from causing damage." Saeko picks up her bag, after returning her gardening tools to it. Despite it being full of bricks, she hardly seems to acknowledge it's weight. "If I do find out anything has happened... I will not be so kind to visitors." She said this with a calm voice, but she was clearly serious in how she would respond. With this, she leaves with a wave over her shoulder, returning to her nearby home.
